Every time you interacted with him I was thinking "ok when does this g-man turn on you and you have to kill him" but shockingly not only does he not turn on you, he upholds his part of the bargain AND in the secret ending like a bro warns you to get the fuck out of the area because it's going to get worse despite him turning into a monster

The protagonist in this is hilarious. He comes across like a legit actual schizo when you go into the camps and he talks to himself about how much he's going to kill them all.
His rants about Radio Free Oregon are even funnier, they did the Spiderman 2 thing where they recorded two versions of all the lines, one for when you're on the bike where Deek is talking normally and one where he's on the bike and is shouting over the engine. But the bike version still plays even if you're just sitting there parked with no engine roar, so you'll just be sitting there quietly in a valley with Deek screaming "OH YEAH COPE, YOU KNOW, GAS PRICES HAVE GONE WAY DOWN THE LAST COUPLE YEARS"

That game is a gem in a field of trash - on paper it sounds redundant as hell, it shouldn't work at all but it's so, so goddamn cool with the sweetest gameplay stolen from so many genres that it's the greatest cocktail I've played in years.
That first horde in Days Gone is right up there with the very first dragon in Skyrim - the game is fuckin brilliant, when in theory it should be dead on arrival.
The ending was happy, but why did it make me so sad tho ... I just went to sleep, didn't even finish watching the credits. Damn, what a ride :)
