I'm 55 hours in and having a blast, only got one final mission left...I think? But the game has like 80+ hours of side missions/padding. My time with the game has been a return to legacy, and while I might not 100% it or do everything, I'll at least know that I got 60-70+ hours out of it and my money's worth.

NTA, but I found Teppos to be underpowered and boring. I invested in the skill tree and got like a level 40 legendary one, and it does shit all for damage. A headshot does like 1/5th of a foot soldier's HP. It isn't even worth using imo, not sure if bows are any stronger. You'd be better off just using TWO melee weapons because for whatever reason they made rifles and bows incredibly weak.

What seriously? I used the teppo a lot. Was downing a ton of people with two shots. If they were a couple levels above me it wasn’t so great but thats every weapon when they’re higher level. I found a rifle that did +5% damage PER METER distance to target. That was a good weapon. I also found a two shot gun, a silenced gun, a gun that had ricocheting bullets, and an almost zero reload time gun. The last one was totally op. I never got around to bow either, though. Next run.

I haven't been messing with castle runs to get legendary equipment, so I only found like two legendary rifles, so maybe I just haven't found any good ones. The main story missions hardly reward rifles at all or long katanas, I think you get like one legendary katana for Yasuke and a few legendary things for Naoe. The game seems really stingy with legendary equipment unless you raid the castles to get them or find them in the tombs.

I just got the double shot rifle and it seems somewhat good, didn't try using that 5% distance damage boost gun, so maybe I was sleeping on that. The ricochet one seems stupid if you're outside, maybe if you're fighting enemies inside a castle or a building, I guess.
The silencer one also sounds stupid as a bow is probably already silent anyway.

Ah well castles have all the good shit, maybe. I raided almost every one.
Afaik the ricocheting gun hits a second nearby enemy. I don’t think it works like Ocelots revolvers in mgsV bouncing off walls. More like multiple target gun, really, but I didn’t test it much, had too many other weapons to use.
A silenced gun is good if you want to use a gun instead of a bow and still be silent. I shot up most of a castle undetected once. Probably could do that with a bow too, but I speced into guns so it had its uses.
