The shield is a problem for any weapon.
Just don't attack it and use deflects.

The only thing Khazan does better than Nioh in terms of combat is by having deflects.
They are very satisfying to pull off, while in Nioh you can only parry humans with certain weapons and yokai with odachi only.

Nioh also has dogshit loot compared to Kazhan. Just percent increases, way too much, etc. I'll grant people that the combat has more depth and the variety is there, but the bosses and level design are better in Khazan.

I do not understand the nioh comparisons, the games are nothing alike.

Greatsword can rape the game, it just asks more of the player:

counterstrike deals almost a heavy attack worth of damage but is brink guard or nothing

charged limit break potent blow can slam most bosses out of their attacks but is slow to charge

I just finished my NG+ playthrough and used the bard set for most of it because of how overpowered GS feels

but those are Niohfags who keep denying that they're soulslikes all together

I've been a Nioh fan since the beginning and I like Khazan a lot as well. There definitely are some similarties. That doesn't mean they play exactly alike or anything but Khazan is far closer to Nioh or any other modern TN action RPG than it is DaS or From's games.

Spear is "I'm better than you" personified, tons of control and unique movement options, centered around moonlight stane and managing buffs

Skill issue holy fuck get better stats and learn to combo you fucking fag

Blade phantoms sword isn't nearly edgy enough

I like Dual Wield the most but they're all fun. I haven't used the others as much though due to it being annoying to respec to try another weapon. Once they implement load-outs I'll start getting into greatsword more.

It isn't surprising, but it does contribute to it being the most fun to me

Brink guarding feels even better with the dark elves set since heartpiercer becomes an invincible counter
