So....while we were down you got your preorder...right?

To be honest with you, i got zero interest in modern gaming whatsoever.
I'm eyeing one of this instead.

Sure did.

I got two (possibly three if I get the direct Nintendo invite).

Got my pre-ordered secured at Gamestop. The line wasn't too bad and I only had to wait an hour and a half.

No it has no games except mario kart which I hate.

Not after that Mario Kart direct. That was the only game I wanted for it, but now I'm not sure if it would be worth it.
I'll wait and see what happens. I may buy a Steam deck or some new controllers instead.

I did not try. I hope I win the nintengoy lottery though.

no OLED no buy

Yes, from target after I dealt with their shitty app issues.

I never once failed an online preorder before. Not for the PS5, not for the Xbox Series X, not for the PS5 Pro, and not for the Switch 2.

I mastered the art of refreshing pages and spamming check out until it goes through.

Got it through Best Buy, my gut told me it wouldn't be live at 9:00 on the dot like they said so I held my ground and at 9:30 on the dot they went live and the website was a smooth experience because all the non-believers swarmed Target and Walmart instead. Gonna be a long 6 weeks! Hopefully I can get the GameCube controller too.

I remember doing a glitch on Target's website for the PS5 pre-order, the page wouldn't be live unless there was stock and it was always out of stock before I could add to cart, so I was able to do the "save for later" thing and got one that way once new stock dropped.

gamestop actually did a good thing by just having the pre-order be a 50 dollar downpayment instead of an all-at-once 450-500 dollar payment
i already shaved off like $200 of what i would've had to pay because of the trade in shit
tax returns also came in a few days beforehand so i feel less bad about buying this overpriced tablet

mfw had to work during pre-order day so no B&M options

Gamestop app crashed the fuck out at 11AM so couldn't pre-order that way

I mean I registered on April 2nd and meet the criteria for priority, surely I'll be able to at least get it from the source.

No, but I still plan to buy at least three during the course of its lifespan

Nah. Gonna wait for the Lite.

Yes but I got the bundle. I wish I didn't so I could get a box for Mario Kart

paying for $80+ games and fueling nintendo's greed

But why?

The smell-o vision is totally worth the price

Didn't you see my post right above yours? I wish I was paying $80 for MK, I'm only paying $50
The Nintendo store orders should be fairly reliable in theory because everyone who got a pre order from a retailer probably signed up for MNS but they won't need to use it

i got 3 lmao

I like those games

consoles are dead

Playstation is making no games

Xbox is making DEI slops that no one wants

Nintendo wants to take all your money and create unfair prices and sue the competition

I will build a pc next year

there's one up right now at walmart with mario kart. I don't got enough to pre-order it atm though

Nope. I'm a cis hetero male.

Enjoy your burn-in.

Based. Good games are worth it, price be damned. I'd rather pay $70-80 for something polished and fun than $60 for some half-broken AAA sludge.

I don't know, mate. My Steam Deck OLED 1TB has already arrived.

I did, thankfully with no problem because there is no s0is in where I live, but on the other hand I don't know if they will deliver on time or fucking push it to 15th July for reasons

Just randomly checked Walmart a few minutes ago and it let me preorder it. What are the chances that was a bug and they cancel it later?

Who knows. Maybe somebody cancelled theirs and you got lucky. Maybe they ordered more stock. Or yeah it was just a glitch

Nice only you literally could have saved the trouble & waited for 3+ months after release to get the thing instead?

Buying any console at launch seems like a dice roll with random defects

They're almost always the most hackable too

Walmart went through for me. My bank asked if it was me doing the purchase, so the money is going through for sure.

Nintendo games are great, I will gladly support them because they're worth it and it lets them keep paying their developers
the greedy people are the poorfags demanding to be given everything for free, it really shows poverty is not only in their wallets but also in their mentality

No, I was between 12 hour shifts at work and missed it. Hopefully they'll make more.

Not even $800 PC handhelds have 1080p OLED screens with VRR and 120hz. Shit is expensive.

Yeah, my cc was charged and I got the confirmation email. I'm mostly worried I'll get an email on June 4th stating they made a fucky wucky and are canceling the order.

Has any Nintendo console ever had widespread defects? Specifically from launch units? My launch Switch and Wii U still work fine. Your tasteless ai slop image suits you perfectly

What trouble? Sitting in a virtual line while jacking off?

Got it just 5 minutes ago at walmart.com

No OLED sucks but it looks like the 'eck is the closest and cheapest for the money if you can get one refurbished for around $450. You could get a ROG Ally X but then there's no trackpads or inky black screen although its a lot more powerful.

I don't really play triple A slop I play mostly indie and am fine with 60fps. For example system shock remake plays at mixed medium/high settings locked 60fps on the deck, uncapped around 75-80.

Then you have thief simulator which runs at like 45 fps on high settings, changing to low does nothing and its a shitty simulator game.

The way I see it if its not optimized enough to hit a lock 60fps on the eck I don't want to play it. You can't fix badly optimized games.

holy shit, walmart's preorders are open again
GO GO GO

Nah, I'll get one when prime 4 comes out

Wii Us have that NAND issue, but I believe it's limited to 1 of 3 possible manufacturers and I'm not sure how widespread those are or what time span they cover.

Only other thing I can think of is that launch Wiis were susceptible to GPU damage due to heat when in standby connection (this was fixed later with better heatsinks)

Nigga I didn't even know they went live until today.

I had both systems their entire lives and never even heard of either of those issues. I'm not saying they didn't exist but it was nowhere near as widespread or linked to the consoles reputation like rrod or ylod or ps2 disc read errors

Nah. Until Smash, Zelda, or the next open world Bing Bing Wahoo is announced, I'm waiting.

Yessir

I hope Elden Ring comes shortly after launch, I had the base game on PS5 but I plan to get it again on SW2 to play SotE for the first time.

I got myself a Switch 2 along with Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza. I'm currently debating on getting a Switch 2 Pro Controller as well but since my current Switch Pro Controller still works fine I might hold off on it. I didn't get the Switch 2 Mario Kart World because I like having physical copies of my games.

After a complete shitshow jumping between Wal-Mart and Best Buy I did, yeah. Didn't even bother with Target because it seemed like a mess over there with their site not working and orders being canceled. Got it through Best Buy, so I'll do the whole midnight launch, too. As much as I have criticisms of the Switch 2 it's gonna be nice to go to a midnight release for the first time in nearly two decades. Kinda missed this place during the whole debacle.

I've seen a lot of stores still have em in stock

I don't want something weaker for more money, with a worse screen too, since the 450 dollar deck is the LCD model that has no HDR support.

nope but,

have switch lite

battery drains in 2 hours playing anything other than indy shit

any text is unreadable unless its 2 inches from your face

controller feels cramped as hell and hurts my hands after 30 minutes of playing.

damn guys do I sell my switch lite and just get a OLED or a normal switch?

You seem to be a handheld player so I'd say OLED but honestly just pay attention and you can probably get a S2 by the time donkey Kong comes out

Nintendo has sucked since the mid 2000s and they only will be good when I choose to support them.
I'd rather die than support shit ass company that refuses to put depth in their games.
Till then there is

Srb2k

Not the Anon Babble server it's casual dogshit
You can make a kart game play like quake why would I play trash ass 90dollar game that goes 1/4th the speed

Quest master

Super Mario construct

SMMwe

Both sequels to Mario maker 2 free and with custom mods.

Romhacks

Super Mario 64 coop

Temple maker

Oot loz maker

20 random Zelda clones

Alttp rouge like

All of these games are better than Nintendo has made games in 20 years.

I will not support them unless they make games better than this or support those who make better games then them.

I bought a deck and it's fucking awesome, but it's not going to be able to emulate the switch 2 so the switch 2 having a shittier screen than the previous system just kind of fucking sucks. I don't give a damn that it could theoretically hit 120fps when it won't in 99% of cases and I wouldn't want it to anyway for the sake of battery life. Maybe I'll just wait for the deck 2.

tried this and they are sold out again. cannot add to cart or pre-order.
