Every SNK game from XIII on is just about hop/dash pressure so you can unga into 60% meter dump combos. From what I've seen CotW is no different.

The problem of the Ronaldo shit souring people, SNK games having a shitty high skill floor due to legacy skills and their games' general aggressive/oppressive playstyle, looking way out of date (CotW is an objectively ugly game with all kinds of visual clutter on top of it) and the Oblivion remaster taking everyone's attention. Doesn't help either that most people follow FGC influencers and they're almost to a man SF people. The lack of single player content hurts too because tha's what the normalfags love.

I think it's a pretty lost cause at this point. SNK has shown they're never going to learn or do anything to address these issues. Even simply making their games less encouraging of unga combo shit would help immensely. SamSho 7 is their post-comeback game that's sold the most and it's the one with the slowest and simplest gameplay and no reliance at all on large combos which means it's going to be easier for newbies to get into and mess around in. Seriously, de-Pablofy the gameplay and that alone will help immensely.
