Is Xenoblade X the best open world game ever made?

Sorry I hadn't seen it before it archive. Boost sucks in most cases and it's easier/cheaper to get mats for Up. Also, the armor set with potential up also comes with treasure censor which is great to slap on your AI team mates.
You might also want to buy the pants with ranged/attack boost since the shop is the only place where pants can have offensive traits.

I really appreciate both it and Morrowind as their worlds feel very alien and interesting. You're rewarded for going to random spots and exploring every nook and cranny.

What are the best places for knives and sniper rifles?

'in a nesy by primal lakes quiet lady's ichor will slake thy lust'?
I seriously can;t fibnd any tyrants that fit this. not the lypex. ovis, suid, or potamus.
what general area of primordia should I be lookin in?

I'd argue that Minecraft and Terraria are better.

better story

better graphics

better gameplay loop

more replayability

better music

Really, it's hard for any game to topple these titans.

I was speedreading pretty hard during chapter 13. Could I get some clarification?
Elma unknowingly dimension hopped to Earth's universe thinking it was just space travel?
Likewise, the white whale hopped to the Mira dimension and dragged in the Ganglion along with the Manon, Wrothians, Orpheans, and Zaruboggan they imprisoned?
So that leaves the Nopon, L and the Qlu as the only natives of the Mira dimension?

Not really. It does the generic "We have every type of zone!" thing. None really naturally connect together. The enemy placement is ball crushing. However it is fun as hell to explore with a skell. That however is also a slight negative because it shrinks the world by a lot. You can see pathways and things that could have been interesting vistas in say the cauldron but everyones going to have a skell by the time they want to go there so you'll never be walking along those pipes high in the air. Balancing issues with freedom and progression.

DO NOT REPLY TO THE TROLL
DO NOT.
Ignore the cock sucker.

I just realized, the Forging Blade short story is actually canon because the Miran Archives description of Mira references Mira Torres?

They only want people to tell them they're right.

I just finished ch 11 and I'm grinding for Ares90, what Superweapons are worth to grind for? and were I can get good weapons dropped?

Sad, but expected for these pseudo-generals.

If you're getting the ares there's no point i getting super weapons as it will just melt everything with its own gear (which cannot be switched).

It's the first open world game where I opt to traverse the map instead of fast travel, so yes.

does anyone know what specific tyrants drop reflect augs?

mate if you can't tell who that's directed at you either need to lurk more, stop playing dumb, or cut the act.

Zenith Cannon has potential to be stronger than the Ares but requires more work.

Who is it directed at? Is it someone who didn't answer the OP?

What are the best places for knives and sniper rifles?

To farm?
Outside of very specific unique weapons, wpn drops are shared globally among all enemies, the quality of the weapon being tied to the level tier of the enemy in question
And weapons can't drop if the AM for it isn't unlocked yet(Like Nopon AM gives thermal shield/gatling guns)

what general area of primordia should I be lookin in?

That Tyrant does not have a map segment, but its in eastern primorida(she has a female name)

It's not even the best xenoblade game, anon.

Lugalbanda, Telethia, Pharsis, and Dadaan.

Not that anon, but it's the only open world xenoblade game. And it looks like OP is fixating on that aspect.

Are we not allowed to prefer other open world games? It sounds like he doesn't want a debate, he just wants to shitpost.

And weapons can't drop if the AM for it isn't unlocked yet(Like Nopon AM gives thermal shield/gatling guns)

Interesting to note...what about development weapons. can those drop without you making them first? Or is that irrelevant?
But yes to farm, I'm running knives + snipers so would like the best of those possible.

east primordia

That helps, ty.
I assume she is NOT in a cave or such right? just out in the field? Somehow I just completely missed her as she isn't even in my beastiary.

Yes
Where's the uncensored mod update though? The latest patch broke it.

The question was specifically if X was the best open world game or not.
If you disagree free to state what game you'd pick over this and why.

Anon I'mma suggest you lurk more if you can't notice one of Anon Babble's worst shit poster trolls most prominent tells.

bet she can dual wield those kids

Different anon, but with snipers and knives, what's your build based around anyway, Afterburner + sleep?

If you disagree free to state what game you'd pick over this and why.

Do you promise not to get angry? It's a choice that few other people agree with.

Information gap, presumably.
Al tells us the Ares filters through data to find your destination while traversing the space between worlds. Maybe because Mira is weird or because he didn't have a destination in mind at first, his return takes months.
Elma entered the Ares with an objective (find other Samaar descendents and warn them), which presumably the Ares interpreted as a destination and routed accordingly. From her perspective it may have just been a lightspeed warp.

I assume Elma unknowingly universehopped, yeah. See above.
Mira's dimension just consists of Mira as far as I can tell. Nopon mention places like Frontier Village, so they're presumably still from other universes. Neilnail mentions she hasn't been back to her home planet in ages, and Celica/Rock escaped from the Ganglion, so they're also presumably from other universes. L is, if not an actual native, the lifeform who was on Mira the earliest that we know of.

She is close to some purple shit near the lake and keep in mind that she might take a few seconds to spawn because she has an entrance animation

what.jpg - 1280x720, 191.96K

I mean...I'm kinda just using what I can atm so open to tips/advice.
atm my arts are
Dispel, Black Bane, Black Butterfly, Smooth Recovery, Sharpnel, Intercept, Afterburner, Ghost Sniper.
In reality I'd like something that focuses on appendage breaking/crushing and just not dying. Chose knives + snipers due to it being my pick on Freedom wars so wanna try and carry the idea of just wrecking every cunt monster alive till its meat pulp.
So I'm open to whatever anons can suggest.

You like what you like anon, Idk as long as you are sincere and can give a brief reason for why.

a few seconds to spawn because she has an entrance animation

omfg.
Well that's probably fucking why I can't find the damn bitch. been flying around primordia in my skell, at low speeds mind you..but that'd still skip past her given such.
What a fucking pain.
TYVM.

Is that blue armor in the game?

You like what you like anon, Idk as long as you are sincere and can give a brief reason for why.

Then my choice is Terraria, and I'll explain why:

I think the story is more simplistic, so there's no room for filler or excess exposition. There's not 50 hours of talking, so you can get right to the game.

the open world is better because you can destroy and build anything you want, Xenoblade X's world is boring in comparison. Being able to go anywhere means nothing because there's nothing interesting to find. Enemies just aren't fun to fight because:

in my favorite game, combat actually requires you to move around. Xenoblade has a problem where combat is just you standing still and watching combat arts play out

I will never get behind a game that's real time combat, but you can just sit in one place and have the game basically play itself.

Yes

I will never get behind a game that's real time combat, but you can just sit in one place and have the game basically play itself.

he says unironically

about a game whose combat is holding attack as the game just auto attacks for you killing everything

Mate.
How long do you think this shit will really trick people?
Now tell everyone how its bad you yourself can't kill civvies but NPCs can.

Consider Full Specs for your aura instead of Ghost Sniper.

which quest gives the amadusa lv60 bp?
I have a mighty need for Hellfire mechacow.

because potential boost to improve afterburner and dispel?
Or is there another reason? I'm fine with the idea, I'd just like to understand why to better grasp the mechanics at play.

Should run energy source too since the potential up from a green buff stacks with the potential up from full specs to pump up afterburner's numbers.

Once you get howling soul you can stack it too, for some real stupid damage. Dispel isn't great btw, Maybe you want it for the utility, but otherwise its damage is lackluster and TP is better spent elsewhere.

run energy source

boosts targets TP and potential

???
You can use this shit on yourself???
There's no way that's right.
That's turning a TP skill into its own TP generator. WTF.

I was just using dispel for simpliticies sake. I can junk it for howling soul.
I assume that's Al's move?

yes, you can use it on yourself. fully upgraded it costs 1k tp and then gives you 1k tp back. So it's a free potential boost.
yeah, it's Al's.

yes, you can use it on yourself. fully upgraded it costs 1k tp and then gives you 1k tp back. So it's a free potential boost.

that's fucking absurd.
How was this missed? Very wack. and fair...will be a bit till I nab HS but will be fun once so.

Xenoblade X is only the 7th-best open world Xenoblade.

Well they let give yourself and the whole team infinite TP for the price of 5 assignment slots so I don't think it was a concern for them.

whole team infinite TP for the price of 5 assignment slots

Not sure what you mean. Which skill or art?

Fuck the haremshit and cringe romance, when will we fight the space niggers?

He's talking about a free overdrive build. It's a pretty big sacrifice, but in many builds it's completely worth it. You stack overdrive gain TP XX augs in every single armor aug slot and then you sacrifice a skill slot to a full upgraded grand procession. Then as soon as you have 3k tp, you hit overdrive and it gives you 3k tp back so it's free. Then you can hit it again to start cranking up the count and max out overdrive. On top of that, each time you hit it, your party members get 500 tp for free as well.

Note that this is great for ranged and melee builds, but not so great for potential builds since sacrificing every armor aug slot makes it quite hard to get a decent amount of potential to work with.

Ah, okay then. I did see a few anons discuss that awhile back.

I just hit level 50, should I get a new skell
I'm using the level 30 mastema stuffed to the gills with ranged and thermal damage gear from the shop to fuel my phoenix based war crimes
I'd basically do the same thing for the level 50 mastema but I'd also build the level 50 megaflame from the terminal

Buy the lv50 mastema. It'll carry you a good long time.
it's pretty pointless to make the lv50 megaflame given resource/ticket cost. just use phoenix till you get the lv60 bp. will just be less pain in the ass.
What gives lv60 mastema btw?

Good book. When's the next one?

Is there a quick way to make tons of money? Getting a 50 skell and treasure sensor gear for the party basically has me completely broke.

And what is the best thing to buy for miranium if youre about to cap with no current use for it? Same with online tickets.

Yes, you should.
It doesn't look like a big upgrade at first, but you will change your mind when you start getting the level 50 weapons of intergalactic rarity. Many of them have almost double the attack power of level 30 versions.

tickets would be any super weapons.
arts boost TP/GP XX augs. treasure sebnsor augs. ultrafauna killer. opening art XX for skells.
miranium would be opening slots on the lv60 hlvaegald and your best armor or weapons.

i have 180 hours and I'm just now getting flight because I deliberately get out to walk around and appreciate the on foot perspective
literally just restrain yourself and absorb the game and it becomes incredible

best thing to buy for miranium

Probably unlocking an augment on that treasure sensor gear little by little.

Same with online tickets

Materials for melee/ranged attack up, potential up, Overdrive:Gain TP and Overdrive: Count up augments are all safe bets.
Or materials for crafting the lewd armors.

phrog shoost a gas cloud making it crystalize

wow weird...like when I found watermelons are vegetables

wtf, why is he retarded?

Elma entered the Ares with an objective (find other Samaar descendents and warn them), which presumably the Ares interpreted as a destination and routed accordingly.

I like this explanation but the wording "The Ares and I were sent with a mission to Earth" implies she was following orders meaning they knew about the Earth already
Ma-non arrived separately, they're a third party from the humans and ganglion prisoners.

Mia was never quite the same after the probing incident...

file.png - 1920x1080, 3.24M

I don't think Elma dimension hopped to reach Earth. They only specifically mention it happening after the White Whale escapes Earth due to the Ghost going too hard with demateralization and the Ares activating, and you see it happen going from Mira to the new universe later.

dimension hopped to reach Earth

She did as revealed in Al's recount of Void's memories. To paraphrase, Void appeared in the universe that held Elma's homeworld, destroying her planet AND her universe.

If they mention it, then I should rewatch that part cause I must've missed it. I guess there's ultimately not too much of a difference between hopping dimensions and just regular space travel within context, it's just the justification for why nobody could leave Mira by just flying away.

If I'm doing a knife/sniper build, should I go for potential or ranged attack focus? I just got howling soul and I've heard how OP this is.

Reminded me of another weird plot inconsistency. The White Whale was in Mira's dimension the entire time they were in flight for two years since Earth's dimension disappeared with Earth's destruction. But Goetia says in chapter 6 the space around the planet preventing them from leaving is small enough to make a round trip at light speed in three days.

White Whale was flying slowly in power-saving mode. :^)

Just finished this recently for the first time. I wouldn't go so far as to say it's the best open world game ever made, but dear Lord isn't it a fascinating world. Mira feels so very soulful, the designs are so inspired. I have no idea how they went about even making this world, it's endlessly entrancing.

Not only was this my first time playing X, this was my first Xenoblade as a whole. I think the gameplay could use some work, and I'd love to know more about Mira and the mysterious that pepper the world, like the ring relics in Oblivia, the floating orbs in Sylvylum, the giant flower in Noctilum, etc.

I really hope there's an X 2 one day.

like the ring relics in Oblivia

You didn't recruit Niel?

I did. And I did her quests of course. But that only brought even more questions. What was this tech and what was it used for? Also, what the heck are the Qu? Why are their Skells so unique? And how come they are all gestated and birthed by artificial wombs?

So many questions. X really leaves you pining for more.

I think sci-fi is particularly well-suited to mentioning details without having to give detailed explanations. Even in the original Star Wars, the Clone Wars are something that's mentioned once and never elaborated on.

Point well taken, brother. But I don't think anyone would be wrong for suggesting that X could've lifted the veil just a tiny bit more. The Qu are a race with massive implications, it would've been really nice to learn more about them. But all is forgiven so long they deliver more in the sequel.

would it be fine to play this without having played any of the others in the series?
thinking of using one of those nintendo online vouchers on it when i get my switch 2

They do tell you the rings are terraformers in some compacity...once used to make oblivia lush, then later abused for war/fighting making it a desert.
Qu aere space elf cats.
As for sjkells, Wrothian ones are pretty different too...so cultural differences it'd seem.
To my knowledge the plant wombs aren't explained.

Yes, there are no story connections beyond a few references, mostly at the very end.

Gravity Lunge is really strong.
Does it count as a melee attack because of the orange colour or as a ranged attack because it is a psycho launder ary?

Take old final boss

Add electric guitar

Its simple but it works

As for sjkells, Wrothian ones are pretty different too...so cultural differences it'd seem.

Wrothian Skells are more advanced than humanity's. But the Qu's are in an entirely different level of technological (and aesthetic??) sophistication. Wrothian tech exudes a sort of warrior pragmatism, but Qu Skells almost have a sense of religiosity. It's so very mysterious. I really dig that. Albus and Furvus have a dualistic black & white motif, but their heads have this sort of abstracted contemporary Gothic style pointing upwards towards the heavens.

I'd love to know more about Neilnail. She's a very interesting character.

What's your best open world game then?

Gatling gun just breaks this game it's insane it's like the game wasn't designed to handle it. Also HB is the most overpowered NPC in this game bar none. The guy cannot die and taunts all day and night.

I mean..that was mostly my point.
Human skells are well...human-like. Cause we needed something quick, efficent and easy to build.
Wrothians are a proud warrior people so their skells are designed with that in mind.
The Qu are religo-nuts for the Sammarians in all things so their skells have a more refined elegant clerical aesthetic to them.
It is very cool to see that all.
And learning more about them all one day would be very nice indeed.

only one city

It's shit.

I'm afraid mine would be a very boring answer, anon. I like what the last two Zeldas did in terms of open world. It's not as rich a world as XCX's, that is sure, but mechanically it's such an incredible game that makes you really feel like you're braving the unknown. X unfortunately has this RPG abstraction that abstracts the true physicality of Mira, it sacrifices something more tactile for RPG spreadsheets. XCX is an excellent game despite it being a JRPG, not in spite of it. I understand that many people adore the gameplay because of how exploitable it is, much like I loved FFVIII for the same reasons back in the day, but I wanted Skells to feel like Zone of the Enders and less like a grindathon whose value is very difficult to communicate to people. Similarly, I would love if the ground combat something more simple and streamlined like direct combat instead of RPG menuing, it would make the world feel that much more real and physical.

I'm probably not explaining myself in the best way, and for that I apologise, brother. And I must reiterate, this was a fantastic gaming experience for me, I'm truly happy I got to discover X.

I wanted Skells to feel like Zone of the Enders

Not him but I wanted something like Robotrek from SNES except in 3D + massive world, but this is as good as it gets right now outta the madman Takahashi. I don't expect another Xenogears so I downgraded my expectations.

Question, I know that they increase the lv to 99, but does it actually give any boost? I ask this because it seems like the game want to you to use you armor and weapons (with augments) more than LVs especially since they never bother of given any higher lv gears. I know the original lv cap was 60, so does being lv 99 mean anything?

I feel similarly. I appreciate X's world for how intricately designed it is and how it works on three layers with on foot exploration in the first part, then grounded mechs and finally flying mechs. When I first played BotW however, it made X's world feel very static as opposed to Zelda's which is extremely reactive and tactile through its physics systems. TotK later expanded upon it with verticality and even more complex interactions. Playing X again with the DE, I still thought its world is amazing and works for the kind of game it is, so I don't think there's a huge gap or anything.

I know it's a very silly expectation on my part, and I understand the huge tech hurdles that needed be overcome in order to deliver something like Anubis: Zone of the Enders in such a large open world game with such a huge enemy variety. But that game has lived rent free inside my head for a couple of decades now.

Biggest thing is it prevents a lot more enemies from aggroing you once you're 10+ levels over them, which makes running though some places like Jair fortress a complete breeze
Besides that, your stats do increase a little bit with each level, but its pretty negligible outside of ranged/melee accuracy

Elma isn't from another universe, she's just from another planet.

I don't know if it was just augments or if the level helped, but I was around 80 when I fought the Telethia for real after a couple scuffed attempts at 60-something and I wasn't missing any shot anymore.

They could always do another low budget fist of mars, that was my first game into the series. inb4 never heard of the gba game.

The Xenoblade series was design with a MMO style from the very beginning, which X does much better considering this one actually have multiplayer compared to the other entries. You're asking for the game to be something completely different.

see I guess maybe "the clash between the ganglion and ghosts" could refer to both the clashes on Elma's world AND Earth, though. I would definitely prefer it to be that.

What are the best places for knives and sniper rifles?

Nigga, all weapons drom from any enemy. And the best place to farm then is inside the giant floating sphere in Sylvalum. There's a bunch of lvl65+ gels you can oneshot with your skell (drones or X-Sniper are great for this), kill them all, dismount and return to skell to reload the room. Stay low and don't go flying in the sleeping tyrant's ass and you'll be fine.
Don't forget to set your class to the desired weapons and bring allies that carry the desired weapons (or none, if you have 100 sensor augments on yourself)

I just need a new game that lets me ZERO SHIFT in front of my enemies before grabbing them and Beyblade spin them to the other side of the solar system, before dumping an entire Itano circus on a robotic swarm of small fry enemies, as if I was playing some sort of Gundam musou. IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK??

You're asking for the game to be something completely different.

Well, yeah, I know. But can't exactly control my imagination. The heart wants what the heart wants, and it's not like I'm blaming X for not being the game of my dreams. If anything, I commend it for stirring up these emotions in me.

Blueberry rock candy mommy tummy.

Really, it's hard for any game to topple these titans.

Just stagger them first

Orange means melee no matter from which weapon it comes from.
The only thing from your ranged weapon that would matter here is the element, but it doesn't for this specific art due to gravity lock.

You can't just give the badass savior of humanity full, juicy, kissable lips. How is anyone supposed to play the game when they're distracted by the protagonist's beauty?

Yesterday's 2 grind reminded me that trust ranks above S existed before the introduction of love source DLC quest.
Except the highest amount of trust you can gain in one go is 21, and the required trust for S+ 59000. How did they even expect you to reach such a crazy amount? Quick math says you would need to use a pouch item 2800+ times and this is genuinely the fastest way, what were they thinking?

How do you get in to the squads doing nemesis runs? Every time I join a squad one no one hosts. Every time I host no one joins. Yet you always see the message that both bosses only have like 30% HP left so I know there's a player base somewhere.

No, that would be morrowind.

I would still put Elden Ring above it.

In X you go to a place and it's still just an art asset, maybe with a generic cave underneath. The only real dungeon is Orr Sim and it's like 3 hallways. In Elden Ring you go to the art asset and it's a huge intricate dungeon that links to other parts of the world. Elden Ring hides entire mechanics behind convoluted exploration.

That said X is comfortably number two thanks to it's great use of verticality

Celica doesn't even know what's a sex

Meanwhile, Neilnail is getting nailed in commercial district alleys in exchange for isekai manga.

All these explanations to the lore but they wouldn’t tell us what L is? He’s so shady

Not even close. The game is terrible, even beyond the story just randomly ending. The biggest issue is both how easy 90% of skell combat is, and how long it takes to grind to beat the other 10%. Why in God's name do you need... 32? Rare drops from endgame enemies for one single fucking augment for a skell that needs a dozen of the same augments. It's the most asinine time sink I've ever seen.

Not with that combat.

i mean, i liked that part about him talking about his disappearance and what he witnessed in that dimension and what happened to Lao(even though i thought he would come back at first).
too bad it wastes your time after that with stupid filler quests that could have been some side quests, or something, instead

and what he witnessed in that dimension

Is Xenoblade X the best open world game ever made?

Only if you have mental issues.
It's a meh jrpg at best.

As far as open world mainstream RPGs are concerned TES (Skyrim/Oblivion/Morrowind) and Elden Ring are far superior, but even the modern Zelda games are better.

Resistance reducer for toppling nigga
And full reflect isn't necessary most of the time, enemies use like 3 attributes at most, with generally only one actually doing huge damage.

Strongest knife attack is black black bane which is melee attack based and requires a debuff setup. Strong though. Strongest sniper attack is afterburner which requires a potential setup. They aren't compatible for what that's worth. You can go for a ranged slayonet setup instead if you want for less damage, but a ranged setup. The real weakspot here is a lack of ability to defend yourself. Your best bet is sleep from screamer, but even leaving aside some sleep immune things there's the more pressing issue of you and your teammates waking them. You can sacrifice 1-2 skill slots on yourself for this or roll weapons with soft touch (admittedly usually a very common trait). The more pressing issue is that you'll def want to roll soft touch weapons for your party if you want them around. And if you are doing a potential setup, you probably do since your own tp generation probably isn't so hot, so bringing along some tp batteries is probably a good idea. Potential setup would let you black butterfly (for an ether sniper rifle), full specs, energy source, howling soul, afterburner for stupid damage though. Make sure howling soul is right before afterburner for the ranged combo bonus.
For slayonet you still want full specs and howling soul, but replace energy source with eagle eye. Slayonet benefits from a melee combo instead so leave black butterfly for right before it.

how much resistance reducer

I’m getting filtered in the like level ~55-60 range is this when I need to start caring about augments and stuff? I can beat anything normal but the big guys are a coin flip at best

reminder that if you take the zu pharg down in less than 2 minutes you save the sylvalum land bridges.

Take longer and they're gone from your game permanently.

Also overdrive. The higher your OD count the easier it is to overcome any debuff resistance, including topple.

what 2 affinity mission arts would you add if you could

highway mirage, gatling gun aura, ranged damage up + pot up + gain decoy I when you trigger a ranged combo

branding iron, gatling gun thermal locked orange topple art + inflict blaze in a ranged combo

Size matters in the game. An XL size enemy of the same level as a S size enemy is many many times more powerful. It's why people pick on Joker despite his level and why people die so much to Siren early in the game.

Depends on the enemy and things like your level, but I remember you can topple Luciel(who has the highest Topple resistance that's not outright immunity) with a full stack of res reducer V augs + ez debuff probe + overdrive.
That's 90+30+100 for a combined 220 reduction, anything above that is absolutely overkill.

I'm assuming overdrive is being used already yeah, but some enemies have debuff res above 100.

Are you using potential or ranged attack builds? If you're going ranged attack you can try the instant max over drive build with 5 Overdrive: TP augments. Like the other anon said, at max over drive resistance is reduced by 100%.

Should I buy Xenoblade X? I absolutely loved Xenoblade 1 but I had to drop Xenoblade 2 after a field skills lock in the main quest added 7 hours of playtime for no reason. Is there similar bullshit in X or is it more like Xenoblade 1?

IMG_1635.jpg - 3736x5632, 2.15M

Skill checks exist but they serve an entirely different purpose, rarely come up and can be completely ignored.
There's nothing that really gates progress but your playtime can be pretty lengthy if you're easily distracted. And this game is only kino if you like being distracted.

i just want to hellfire things to death
i want to use the knife but keep dying

I had to drop Xenoblade 2 after a field skills lock in the main quest

It takes 5 minutes at worst to get the required nodes on story blades, or 10 seconds if you were lucky enough with the gacha.
t. beat story 4 times, and NG+ with post game stuff once

I'm in Chapter 11, how I do get Mia? None of the quests seem to indicate anything, just a bunch of continuations from earlier quests (Slovity, Ga Jiarg stuff, etc).

Explain how? Everywhere I looked indicated it would take hours

did you complete the entire definian shitshow quest chain
what's your cauldros survey %
sometimes a quest isn't marked with a quest marker lol

She's a pain in the ass because her entire quest line is one of the few where you have to stumble upon without a marker. When was the last time you saw her?

Did you do Definian Downfall? Did you survey 65% of Cauldros? Did you do all the other Mia missions? If so, go back in that base where you did Definian Downfall and enter that tiny cave where a treasure is hidden in a container with a locked door guarded by a single level 60+ Definian and some suids.

You aren't supposed to max out every chart or anything like that, just do reqs for field skill nodes as they become available on story blades and help yourself with commons(usually without levelling them at all). If you manage to roll useful rare blades then you might not even need that, because main story checks have low thresholds.
Also it's a good idea to do any node available on blades you are using anyway to make them stronger in combat.

Do you think Void's conduit experiments predate Klaus' experiment? Or is it, and all of X, far in the future from all that?

I don't think the temporal axis matters a whole lot on a multi-dimensional scale

Klaus's experiment is what released Void from his prison, so yes Void's experiment obviously predated Klaus

Klaus's experiment is what released Void from his prison

Huh?

Retard

Fuck me I was worried about levelling up the reqs on individual blades I didn't even realize you can stack lvl 1 skill gachashits in the party and do it

Was it ever stated how long it would take for the 2 planets to join after 3's ending? Just wonder if they decided to to do X2 would anyone be around to keep Elma company.

Nothing else come close to it no

Is there some secret to make shock/blaze do damage it doesn’t really seem like they do anything. I’m using conduction rise and shooting star

you've got 2 choices

quick cannon

hercules blow knock n shock memefishing

al is already in the game

Brown Elma or Blue Elma?

elma.jpg - 850x1202, 101.92K

Masterworks both. Can't go wrong.

Not with that combat system.

I've never played this game but looks interesting. What's the appeal of this one? Is gameplay/combat any good? Looks kinda like mmo slop

tell a Ma-non that I prefer not wearing underwear

Elma liked that

?

She's a CFNM enthusiast

i like xeno elma more

iirc you can topple Luciel with topple toppler and 3 resistance reducer augs.

Sure but I'd rather use the skill slot for something that boosts DPS or cooldowns

best phantasy star game after psp1
wish it had questmarkers and less focus on mechs but otherwise was a neat experience

my bimbo slavewife fortun...

both are good but i prefer blue

Kill yourself.

Meds

What skell weapons are you niggas using prior to endgame superweapons I'm too lazy to farm? I bought phoenix to cheese class points and it's pretty nice overall, and the back attack beam scythe does tons of damage too. But other than that it feels like my weapons are lackluster.

What is the best fashion to make my male characters dress like sluts?

Ayy

is it bad if i can't stop killing tyrants a million levels higher than me for fun and being severely over leveled and not making any mission progress

Nah it's cool, I always end up doing that whenever I play X and endgame was basically just doing that either way when the level cap was 60.

WHY AM I GETTING TOPPLE LOCKED WHEN I REFLECT THIS RETARDED DINOSAUR

hat skell weapons are you niggas using prior to endgame superweapon

i was using the beam sniper on the level 50 skell, was very good damage wise.

files.catbox.moe/wt5ssv.mp4
Sorry anon. I know this isn't what you wanted since it seems like you're trying to use the thermal locked arts but I just wanted to try since it seemed like I could just substitute it for my raygun. I didn't realize how fun this thing is.

The drones in the shop hit super hard over time. If you use two and get lucky with cockpit mode you can have 4 out at the same time and at that point they stop being DoT and become burst. Even better if you get one from drops that come with R.Atk up and boost.

His topple goes beyond reflect even if you are sending back the damage because fuck you that's why.

what the fuck are you supposed to do
i just get frozen until my aura runs out and then i die

how do i use knife with the gatling without dying
is sleep lock the only way?

Im out of missions to do trying to hit level 60
Do I just run around hunting random high level tyrants now?

On Mira it's either topplelock or be topplelocked.

You can have both at the same time but not sure who would control brown elma.

Aside from just nuking the enemies before they do anything by stacking potential, you either go for sleeplock or attribute res.
If you want to take advantage of healing from smooth recovery then a cool alternative could be a mix of evasion and just enough res to not get killed in a single hit by the enemy's strongest arts.

I'll give 'em a go.

holy christ no absolutely not.
It's not bad but all three other xenoblade games are definitely better.

I'm miranium capped because i've leveled up all my arms manufactures. What level 55 gear is best from the shop?

I like it but I also kind of hate it. After exploring the entire world once and unlocking flight the game becomes super repetitive and annoying to play. Also flight COMPLETELY ruins the exploration aspect of the game on a completely basic level, I couldn’t believe just how much thought went into actually exploring the ruins in cauldros on foot just to ignore all of it with flight, it made me cringe. The battle system also becomes a spastic button masher around this point. Tbh it has anlot of potential and the story and world are very good but the later half of the game just fucking sucks to actually play. It should have been an MMO if I am being honest.

Melee arts have a slash shaped window, and ranged arts have a cross-hair shaped window. They correspond to each of the weapon types.
Typically all orange arts are melee, and all yellow arts are ranged, though there's at least one exception I'm aware of being the Assault Rifle Art "Assault Breaker", which is an orange art.

Which way, white man?

Yes.

Eh, I'd give that to either 2 or 3.
2 having more opportunities to cancel into something else or speed up set charging makes it a bit more of an active game than the others.

I'm not seeing it. Like I have my fair share of issues with X combat gameplay but overall it manages to stay more interesting and offers many options compared the rest.
If anything the biggest issue is that you get pigeonholed into certain decisions such as not using party members in post game because keeping them alive requires way more grind than what's worth.

This is fantastic art for a boring game.

have you seen what she wears man? that wasn't standard clothing for her race, she is the one who likes dressing like that

That runs on the assumption that the conduit can only manifest in one place at a given time, or that the Conduit in all incarnations is equal in power or potential.

The conduit that appeared before Klaus and remained in Alrest appeared gold in color, whilst Void's encounter was apparently with a Conduit purple in appearance.
I think it's more significant than just how the art slides were presented, since the use of purples for the Ares, Vita, the Ghosts, and Void's Conduit are consistent, as are the use of golden yellows for the flow of consciousness/sentience.

To me, this suggests that the conduits that Klaus and Void interacted with were not necessarily equal, but could be facets of the same source all the same. After all, Klaus' shenanigans with the golden Conduit never beckoned the Ghosts, which too are purple.
It could be as simple as forces of creation and destruction, the use of the Ares Prime (or specifically the 6 cores) comes at the cost of invoking dematerialisation events and the Ghosts that doom a universe to non-existence, due to the cores being created from a Conduit of destruction.
Should Xenoblade X get a sequel, this could be a tragedy that repeats yet again because of those cores and the Ghosts.

The cross-over DLC content of XBC2 suggests that Elma's story occurs in parallel to the events of XBC1 and XBCX, but some of Al's visions of other universes whilst in the rift contradict that, since there's a vision of an event from XBC3 which occurs decades after 1/2.
That scene also focuses on the interactions between a remarkable boy and a special girl in each game, something that had been missing from XBCX until Al was introduced. Al is to Elma as is Noah to Mio, Rex to Pyra, Adam to Mythra, and Shulk to Fiora.

If anything the biggest issue is that you get pigeonholed into certain decisions such as not using party members in post game because keeping them alive requires way more grind than what's worth.

That's the biggest reason why it's so shit. In all other xenoblade games, your party members are not only useful, but required to keep them geared up and doing their job properly. Some characters are even more fun to use than the main character. Everyone's got a role, and unfortunately X only has "more options" than 1. The other games have a much larger variety of combat options.

You'd think Vandham would try to reign in this behavior.

I think X has the 2nd best combat behind 2 personally, it’s broken for sure but it’s broken in a fun way. I am not a fan of how chain attack centric 1 and 3 are, the objective of battles is pretty much just to survive till you can chain attack and then the entire game stops for you to do your “kill this guy” buttons. In 2 you have to actually build up your chain attacks so it’s better designed I think.

X is built for online multiplayer instead of a single player experience, and it shows in the sheer flexibility and build possibilities for your avatar and skells, as well as that potential system where simply getting QTEs right or using the correct color art will replenish your health according to your potential stat.

The other big bit is that things like learning proper ground/skell weapons and augments is something you can easily ignore for the majority of the story, and learning how to do even a little bit of that can trivialise the story difficulty.
Augment grinding is a big part of the end-game, so you start doing that and start figuring out shit like appendage crushing builds for effective farming, and doing shit like opening art augments for skells and using that to one-shot level 60 tyrants with an Ares 70 or whatever. Even before that, figuring out EXP booster augments is pretty easy and accessible very early on if you're willing to use a few material tickets.
I've been abusing that to take out tyrants that are 20+ levels above my avatar since Aghasura Cannon is so absurdly strong and brain-dead, and if you get cockpit time you can sometimes take down bosses quickly.

Also a trick for farming weather-dependent rare enemies/tyrants, is to save after a kill, reload from title screen. This retains the weather and allows them to respawn, unlike changing the time or fast travelling.

I mean, you could build yourself in a way that your team contributes to post game fights(and I'd like to specify "post game" again, because party members are useful for a good while), the only obstacle is your willingness to gear them up and the fact it costs a lot more than letting your Cross solo the superboss.
And it's not like you can't do that in 1 and 2 either, but you have less solo options for sure.

Is there stuff you can’t buy with material tickets? They seem weirdly OP you get so many

The alternative was the amount we got on the Wii U and that sucked.

Stuff cost twice as much in the WiiU version.

Some debuffs are really weird in that they bypass reflect somehow despite most of the time by reflected along with the hit. I hope someone with the technical knowledge can explain why this happens.

From what I understand, every potential material can be exchanged, but the big thing is that you can use them to get online play exclusive materials that are needed to make the Ares 70 / 90 Skells.
Stuff like Golden Yggralith Heart, can't be obtained from the super boss that's only in online squad missions.

SEX WITH NEILNNAIL!!!!!

Did the players do something to upset the devs?

Should have bought a Wii U.

But I did and played X for an ungodly amount of hours.

I think X has the 2nd best combat behind 2 personally,

Opinion discarded.

Hey, how's it poppin?

Kill yourself, Poochie.

Terrible, obviously.

If Xenoblade was manga or/and anime, how would Anon Babble rate character?

It's funny because the only thing you need to make Al likeable is have you play as him in the prologue fighting the Ghosts. Which they did years before in Xenoblade 1. It would function just like the monado tutorial with Dunban, only it would be the Skell tutorial.

Good morning saar

Opinion respected but disagreed with, because I prefer X's combat to 2's but yeah sure, those are definitely the best ones in the series.
My ideal Xenoblade would be a mix of X's art palette, manual buffs, overdrive effects and the combo systems in 2.

Chain attacks eeh, there was an attempt in 2 and 3, but for the former I ended up preferring quick chains setups(after setting up a single orb, but taking advantage of fusion combo stacking to squeeze as much damage as possible in 2 rounds) and I didn't like 3 much.

you fags cannot be serious.

I think 3 is the best by a lot. Theres way more reactive boss fights where you have to change what you're doing to reflect the gimmick of the boss as opposed to cycling through your arts you've optimized.

It's true that chain attack is stupidly OP but it isn't even more powerful than Overdrive. Also strongly recommend people go into the option and set party member ouroboros to manual, it opens up so many gameplay options.

Seconding this. I also really like the field circles, it makes positioning matter a whole lot more and not just for damage bonuses from arts. Chain attacks have always been OP so I don't see a point complaining about that.

Also strongly recommend people go into the option and set party member ouroboros to manual, it opens up so many gameplay options.

That was one of the first things I did when I got it. More control is always better.

That wouldn’t work well considering how long it takes before you can even get a Skell

I couldn't be more serious since I tried to have fun with the combat of each game and eventually settled on X and 2

you have to change what you're doing to reflect the gimmick of the boss

That's not exactly always a good thing since it can lead to the entire gameplay being just reacting to gimmicks without any thoughts given to RPG mechanics.
That said, I didn't think that was really an issue in 3, the problem was focusing too much on chains as the other anon said. It's not comparable to overdrive because that's more of a power up with additional mechanics than a separate battle phase.

Overdrive is like Ouroboros but on crack. But X's combat is absolute dogshit for its balancing, neutralizing the efficiency and usefulness of tanks, centralizing defense on the bloated amount of damage types and making it very difficult to cover all elements, leading to a very "kill instantly or be killed instantly" endgame. I'd say X has probably the poorest combat of the entire series.
The amount of effort and grinding you have to put into builds that aren't centered around ghost walker is ridiculous.

All these issues are entirely derived from the grind required to gear up your party as opposed to only Cross, and while I can see how that's a flaw in game design, it's not exactly the combat being bad here.
Also people seem to think you need to cover all attributes for dangerous fights but not really, if anything it's annoying to switch out gear for specific targets.

The amount of effort and grinding you have to put into builds that aren't centered around ghost walker is ridiculous.

This one is not true, topplelock is pretty cheap and works on *most* enemies including post game tyrants, although some enemies are obviously meant to be fought in Skells and cannot be toppled at all.
Astral Protection is also cheaper than it looks
Reflect can work with many things using only shop gear
And that only leaves grinding for skells, sleeplock, perfect reflect and attribute res. For the latter I think people should try combining it with evasion more, it's easier to reduce one or two attributes at best and just dodge everything else.

All these issues are entirely derived from the grind required to gear up your party as opposed to only Cross

Only the stuff you decided to address. Here's some stuff you've ignored:

Tanks are now useless as aggro gain is simply not a thing outside of perhaps 1 skill per character. No aggro augments at all.

Also most enemies have tons of AoEs, further kicking the existence of tanks into the trash.

Healing done with the quick time event that nobody liked and was entirely removed from 3 for good reason. Also very few knife skills I suppose?

topplelock is pretty cheap and works on *most* enemies including post game tyrants,

Topple exists in all games, how is it a good thing you can chain topples in X to completely shut down most enemies rather than having good defensive options?

Astral Protection is also cheaper than it looks

Reflect can work with many things using only shop gear

Reflect doesn't become decent until endgame, and most elements are hidden behind superbosses, making it useless for 90% of your time.
Evasion was also done better in the other titles.

Every single numbered Xenoblade game never had these problems because they were well balanced and thought out. X provides an assload of problems for no reason and gives bandaid fixes at best. You can tell most of the mechanics in X are the result of needing to try and patch a huge, obvious hole that they didn't consider and provided a half-assed work-around that is either situational, or unreliable.

I like X but it's simply inferior on a gameplay point to any of the other games.

I cannot put 1 above X, I’m sorry but 1 is just fucking boring it is better to be broken than boring

1 is way better because you can have several characters that feel great to switch around and play as instead of just sticking to Cross and whatever broken build you've given them.

It's a limited bodies thing I guess. Even the worst humans are still useful in their situation.

Tanks are now useless as aggro gain is simply not a thing outside of perhaps 1 skill per character. No aggro augments at all.

Because you have taunt arts.

Also most enemies have tons of AoEs, further kicking the existence of tanks into the trash.

Fair enough

Healing done with the quick time event that nobody liked and was entirely removed from 3 for good reason. Also very few knife skills I suppose?

Play the game

Topple exists in all games

Not claiming otherwise, just saying it exists as a cheap alternative to memewalker

Reflect doesn't become decent until endgame

Because you don't need to reflect at all before that.

and most elements are hidden behind superbosses

Play the game.

Every single numbered Xenoblade game never had these problems because they were well balanced and thought out.

Lol, lmao even.
If there's one thing that's consistently bad in Xenoblade other than magic swords, it's how poorly balanced everything is, though it's usually in your favor.

You can do that in X too, it's just more work to give everyone augmented gear.

what were they thinking?

They weren't. Half of the game was cobbled together at the last minute, that's why there's so much jank.

I don’t care literally every character in 1 is boring to play because the combat has no depth

I can believe it after seeing how much retarded nonsensical shit you find in affinity charts.
It's a miracle it ended up actually being fun, but it's definitely the one where I would consider using a balance mod the most.

Melia is fun but she also breaks the game in half and throws every illusion of balance out of the window.
Reyn is decently enjoyable.
Shulk, Dunban and Riki are all just ok.
Fiora eeeeeeeeh, she works better by just auto attacking ironically enough.
Sharla who?

Tits too big

I kinda want to see an adult Lin actually

Mims don't age. Lin is an eternal loli

I know, but that won't stop any artist

my switch went kaput bros
I was having a lot of fun, managed to make my L50 Lailah decent enough to kill almost everything that's not above level 90.
this is bullshit

3 has the reverse of X's problem. Set them up right and the other 5 party members don't need you at all.

Bro your saved data gets backed up to the cloud

Get the save back somehow and play on PC instead. We have the technology

So here's the thing. When Lin boarded the Whale, she was 11. Did they give her 13 year old mim and everything just lucked out to make her 13 inside and out during the course of the story? Or did they give her an 11 year old Mim and give her a new one on her 12th and 13th birthdays? Also, how many Lin sized spare parts do they even have?

Yeah, I checked and it did back up my latest save.
I'm just sad it's gonna take a long time to fix and get it back.

Personally I prefer hyper competent party members to useless ones.

Incidentally playing X with Hraesvelg because he's cool even if he's shit. Always warms my heart when I hear Sharon laughing like a mad woman before she inetivitably one shots the enemy I'm whittling down with G-Buster.

Really? Didn't think of that, nice idea.
Though I was already considering getting the Switch 2 before this happened anyway.

I like that better than X personally.
I do hope we go back to 3 or 4 man parties in the next one thought. 6+1 was too much lol

I hate that Anon Babble was down when I was going through Ch13 because I think that was legitimately the worst experience I've ever had in a Xenoblade game. Absolutely awful story, Volitaris wasn't even a real continent, Al was a shit character, and the voice acting sucked.

It also retroactively makes the story of X worse by the end of it. I wish that the only new addition to X was Neilnail. Every other addition sucked.

I swapped to the Jap voices. The new characters were fine and a few returning characters like Doug and Irina managed to still do it but Elma was unbearable on the dub.

Storywise I like the scenario but Al is rough

Gonna have to disagree with you there. In terms of combat, X is far and away the best. 1 comes in a distant second, and Future Redeemed is an even more distant 3rd.

She's worth it

Is 60 the highest requirement for armor and such? Should I just grind to 60 and then make big skells to grind ground gear?

Ghostwalker. I'm using a Dual Guns + Photon Saber reflect build and I just swapped in Ghost Walker to kill Luciel.

Chain attacks have always been OP so I don't see a point complaining about that.

I do. 1 it’s forgiveable because it’s the first game, X and 2 both made chain attacks (Overdrive in X) require you to use the actual battle system and then 3 goes back to them being an instanced mini game

The scenario is dogshit. Void is an awful character. Ghosts are unfun to fight and don't drop anything anyways. The pre-flight quests during the 2nd part of the chapter were torture.

I was so done with their shit that I kept one-shotting Void with my Lailah Queen whenever given the option. Then I had to pilot the shitty Ares instead of my beastly Superboss killer. It made the fight take way longer and my entire party died while I just spammed arts on Void until I gave him the death he craved

What I'm most upset about is how Ch13 squanders so much potential for the X storyline. It's completely sapped my will to 100% X. I'm still just trudging along because I want to finally do a 100% playthrough.

Chain Attacks in 2 are at their most busted. I remember deleting everything late and postgame even while underleveled and using whatever rare blade I wanted. You don't even engage with the battle system, you enter cutscene mode and pop orbs. That's it.

How do you make orbs again ?

60 is the last level that unlocks anything; 60 was the final level in the original game. You don't necessarily need level 60 equipment since the level doesn't really matter beyond a certain point. You want gear with good baked in augments, and for that you need to upgrade your AMs to max and slap C&C armor on all of your allies.

Most of the things you want to grind are post-game anyways. Dadaan drops most of the reflect augments you need and you can insta-kill him with the Ares 90, which is also postgame. You then take those reflect augments and go kill Lugalbanda in Noctilum for the remaining ones.

NTA but point is that chain attacks in 2 either require you to actually survive the fight for long enough for multiple rounds or require you to prepare a fusion setup, which is very much engaging with most of the mechanics in the game.

No not really. Its good but like, its a step down from 1 completely, maybe better than 2.
To be honest the combat kinda shits on its own face the moment you unlock overdrive and skells feel utterly pointless and weak compared to that, like their only FUNCTIONAL use is maybe fight something that flies or killing weak enemies that get in your way as you travel outside of enemies that clearly are meant to be fought on skells
The combat could have been much better and much more balanced if overdrive couldn’t be made to be infinite, was on a cooldown and the skell was a legitimate power up mid battle rather than just some toy to fly around in.

To be fair its less bloat and moreso just the sheer amount of party members you get. If gearing was leas tedious this would be less of an issue but the way gear works is mmo tier micromanagement of effects and grinding, which is fine if you’re grinding only for one character but for multiple? And then theres the issue of building a setup for each and every boss with unique weaknesses or effects, honestly not my thing.

Theres also photon sabers but you’re right about healing. That being said knife and photon sabers do a very good job of making healing relevant in that game, assuming you don’t go for memewalker as your second weapon and don’t put reflect skills of every type on every character. A lot of people Ive talked to about this game are kinda weird since they seem to use the scout console a lot and what they like about the game is literally stacking damage via overdrive not the actual depth of the combat system. I kind of hate how cursed the player base for xenoblade is

Can someone share any money shot screenshot from the game?

Just got done with the epilogue. Easily Xenoblade at its lowest narratively. No you aren't actually a digital copy of a consciousness inside a mechanical body being stored inside a large data drive you're actually a regular conscious stored inside a nexus pocket universe that lies at the meeting point of all universes and the data drive lifecore you thought you were bring stored in was actually just a relay point. How did humanity manage to do that without realising? Idk ares/zohair/conduit shit. What does that reveal even do except further complicate things for no apparent reason?

Certainly.

Superboss difficulty rankings

Leva'el the Terminus > Pharsis the Everqueen > Telethia the Endbringer > Nardacyon the Shadowless > Vortice the Deific Blast > Lugalbanda the Wanderer King > Dadaan the Strongest Prone

I've never actually killed Pharsis or Leva'el

feel the same mate, after chapter 13 i have to take a week break because it killed my motivation to 100% this game

It's just an excuse to have a gay crossover with the characters from 1/2/3 in the next game

Zenith cannon on custom Skell can nearly oneshot Telethia and Ares 90 exists if you want something with decent sustained DPS, what more do you need? Honestly going above that is just for shit and giggles, or nemesis runs I guess.

They're significantly more busted in 3 honestly. Also 2 has BoC difficulty which murders chain attacks. It's great because you actually really have to engage with the battle system.

2 literally requires you to rush down endgame bosses from half HP to 0 with chain attacks or they start oneshotting your party. what the FUCK are you on about?

I like BoC for actually making you play around with mechanics other than chains, but holy shit they made it particularly frustrating at times.
You tell somebody actually enjoys doing the 9th imperial division challenge and I will show you a massive liar.

What? No. You can become invincible in many ways

switch to a katana and use evasion art

use a lv4 special

complete a blade combo

initiate chain

Reflect doesn't become decent until endgame, and most elements are hidden behind superbosses, making it useless for 90% of your time.

Assuming you go photon saber this isn't entirely true. Your aura gives you beam reflect, the shop sabers cover every element, though of course, you can only one run at a time. The swimsuit right arm you get right at the start gives you thermal. And getting a rando body drop that has one reflect on it isn't that hard. So you can cover 4 elements from really early on, actually. The hard part early on is just keeping the aura full time.

I kind of hate how cursed the player base for xenoblade is

There are casuals even in these threads on Anon Babble that don't know how to set up a tank properly. About a year ago, there was one anon who was shitting on 1. Turns out all he was doing was randomly pressing arts as they came off of cooldown, didn't use a tank, and was rushing down enemies before he died while heavily relying on sharla. Those kinds of players are very commonplace in this fanbase for some reason, so it's not a surprise they gravitate to X which requires significantly less thought.

Well, challenge mode is what it is. Same for the other games. There's an inherent masochism there for the hardest challenges on the hardest difficulty regardless of the game. I hate that poison one too.

>switch to a katana and use evasion art

Having Morag in your party just feels mandatory because I'm not doing Tora's shitty minigame, so this is by default how you should be setting up your tank.
then I read the rest of your post

use a lv4 special

complete a blade combo

this is all shit you should be doing throughout the battle

initiate a chain

yes, the original complaint is that chain attacks are overpowered, save your ass, and endgame bosses almost require you to rush down the last 50% of their HP or you will be oneshot.
Thank you for completely ignoring my post. What exactly are you trying to accomplish here?

Honestly? Yeah

One issue with XB1 is that a lot of players never swap from Shulk. Like when you fight any kind of telethia, you really should swap to Melia. It's a much smoother experience.

Can Melia really hit through their dodge auras? I rarely used her. I mostly stuck to swapping between Shulk, Dunban and Fiora.

Not that anon, but he mentioned level 4 specials because you can use them right when the big attack that will kill you is about to hit to ignore the attack entirely. Over the course of regular combat you actually probably won't use the level 4 special all that much. A lot of them are inferior to the level 3 in terms of dmg/utility oddly enough.

build up orbs in the first half of the battle

break them all to finish

I’m not complaining chain attacks are OP I’m complaining that in 1 and 3 they’re uninteractive. Are all your party members alive? Then you can do an optimal chain attack

How do we get the Xenoblade series to sell over 10 million?

Yes. Ether attacks aren't completely guaranteed despite what some people think, not even with Melia's skill from her tree, but Melia can hit them and she just shits on telethia with her powerful DoTs.

Not that anon, but he mentioned level 4 specials because you can use them right when the big attack that will kill you is about to hit to ignore the attack entirely.

okay cool does that save your party members too? Or are you going to ignore that little detail because it's more convenient for your argument?
If your party members die you can very easily get caught in a revive loop against endgame bosses that have breached their 50% HP threshold.
Sometimes I think you fags don't actually play the games you defend.

Ch13 makes all the other post-game quests feel pointless. Like, why should you care about anything when you know it's all for naught in the end?

There were so many ways to set up for a sequel while also connecting X to the Zohar/Conduit and they chose the worst possible route.

Melia is only good when being controlled by the player her AI is awful otherwise. She wracks up damage so fast with her ether elementals shed die too quickly after pulling all the aggro from my tanks. Only instance in the game I had to craft high level art stealth gems to balance this out she's fun.

Retard

In 1, chain attacks continue on RNG and they only start being strong at the end of a 2nd and 3rd cycle.
In 3, they're pretty strong, but not nearly as retardedly OP as in 2.
This is the argument and you've done nothing to address it but call them "uninteractive". They have the exact same interactivity as in 2, minus the worthless quick time events.

My favorite part about people complaining about XCX's combat is when they say that X sucks because it doesn't have tanks or healers. The "holy trinity" is a blight on game development and I'm glad X showed that not only can you have an RPG without it, the RPG is better for it.

Currently on Chapter 5 of my first playthrough, apparently I get some kinda Overdrive mechanic after finishing this Chapter. When do I get my sick robot?

Hey that's my screenshot before I changed her hair color lol.
Your opinion is pretty fucking awful though. Terrible bait and proves you suck at the rest of the games.

This is the argument and you've done nothing to address it but call them "uninteractive”

Them being uninteractive is my entire complaint. In 2 you have to build up orbs in the normal battle system in order to get a strong chain attack, in 1 and 3 you just wait for the meter to fill and that’s it.

The poison one is a little annoying cause you either use ways to reduce terrain damage or get fucked
But dealing with all the absolute bullshit + BoC mechanics in the one I mentioned was J U S T. I don't feel bad cheesing it with overdrive and Corvin. On Normal I decided to use Praxis instead because why not, but still took Tora and Poppi QTpi because who else is going to keep the kurodil stunlocked realistically?

Tora is very usable for main story stuff even without touching Tiger Tiger. He really only has to tank and Poppi does that well, although sure enough Morag/Brighid can contribute to damage better if you are trying to rushdown.
Also the point of the post is that you can dodge big dick enemy art by timing these things, also nothing actually oneshots you outside of Aion and superbosses, but it can help avoiding nasty shit like Malos monado arts I guess.

In 2 you have to build up orbs in the normal battle system in order to get a strong chain attack

By doing the things you should be normally doing in battle.

in 1 and 3 you just wait for the meter to fill and that’s it.

by doing the things you should normally be doing in battle.

2 jingles keys in front of your face and adds another pop-up and thumbs up for doing what's expected of you and you clap and squeal like a toddler thinking you're doing something more complex than the other ones.

okay cool does that save your party members too?

... yes? Everyone is invincible during the lv4 special anim.

Sometimes I think you fags don't actually play the games you defend.

The irony.

I was not talking about just endgame in my post. A lot of the people that I talk to as they play this game either

use the scout console to overthrow any hardwall

bruteforce everything with ghost walker, a cookie cutter sword build and overdrive

Whats the point in engaging with all the itemization the game has to offer and the incredibly in depth classes and weapon combinations you’re going to make if you just want the game to be over asap?
This is exactly why full meta jaguar tree was the LAST one I built.
All this being said I still stand by skells also being mostly pointless and mainly a novelty. At best they are a temporary power up at lv 30 and then 60 while you get really broken stuff.
I also don’t get whats fun about killing shit 20 levels above you and overleveling like some people in this thread would state, like you’re not even engaging with the games systems at that point.

IMG_1924.jpg - 750x408, 30.32K

okay cool does that save your party members too?

yes, it does.

I've actually beaten the superbosses in all 3 other Xenoblade games.

X is balanced around not needing to have someone draw aggro for the rest of the party while having a dedicated healer. Characters still feel unique despite that because the different weapons all handle differently. X shows you don't need to have some retard whose only job is to heal the tank and avoid damage and the game functions better than it would with the holy trinity.

Morag is an agility tank which means you don't have to heal her as much, and she dishes out more damage than Tora which means she also generates more aggro, making her better overall.
I'm sure Tora has some decent utility if you dedicate yourself to his shitty minigame but that's a waste of time. I also don't do "rushdown" methods, I think they're for meatheads who try to avoid game mechanics as much as possible.

Also the point of the post is that you can dodge big dick enemy art by timing these things,

you don't have level 4 blade arts ready whenever you need them. You are a disingenuous moron.

also nothing actually oneshots you outside of Aion and superbosses

Most bosses I've met with since getting Mythra one-shot a character if you get past 50% HP and don't initiate a chain attack straight away, then I get caught in a revive loop. This is not from lack of gearing or upgrading. This is intentional. The game expects this of the player and the final boss is the final test of doing this.
Fuck off.

Before endgame skells are very decent though.
They get massively outclassed by ground stuff only when you actually start engaging with augs and shit.

Should I outfit my party with level 50 skells or save up for a level 60 skell? And for that matter, how can I make money faster?

No, that's BotW.

orbs are bad actually and cut your subsequent damage by 25%. The real reason to finish a blade combo is for relevant seal effects. Other than that, you're better off using fusion combos and not completing the orb unless you don't know what you're doing. In which case stack orbs and full burst away. That actually makes the fights take longer though.

The level 30-60 threshold I would say on foot is more powerful for most of it. I preferred literally going on foot and using overdrive with my photon saber/assault rifle build than using skells at level 30 once I got galactic cataclysm

X is balanced around not needing to have someone draw aggro for the rest of the party

yeah they just die lol.

Characters still feel unique

They're shitty versions of builds you yourself can use.

X shows you don't need to have some retard whose only job is to heal the tank and avoid damage and the game functions better than it would with the holy trinity.

Yeah by just gunning down enemies instantly instead of interacting with any mechanics.

and the game functions better than it would with the holy trinity.

It doesn't. The trilogy actually makes party members worthwhile and there's serious back and forth and tension in fights. In X it's you kill instantly or you be killed instantly. It's "functional" in the way a person with no legs can still get up the stairs.

You are being retardedly reductive I’m just going to talk about X again instead of this stupid bullshit

story

??????

That's fine, I like X too. If someone starts shitting on the trilogy for having "worse" combat, then I'm rightfully going to call you retarded.
I don't even like 2 very much but it has its moments.

Yes, Xenoblade X deserves the BOTW and TOTK-tier sales, don’t consumers these days eat up any open-world games even if they’re slop?

cute mim

yeah they just die lol.

Skill issue. The only time my party dies is when fighting the superbosses.

They're shitty versions of builds you yourself can use.

That's only because you have access to every art and skill and in the game whereas they only have access to the arts and skills native to their class + 2 extra signature arts. Nothing to do with the characters being bad and everything to do with Cross being busted.

Yeah by just gunning down enemies instantly instead of interacting with any mechanics.

You still have to interact with the game's mechanics. Overdrive, melee/ranged combos, art conditionals, art colors, reflect/damage reduction, status effects, topple/stagger/stun/launch, spikes, soul voices, and so on.

Try fighting the superbosses. Unless you build a 1 shot skell build and get lucky enough to land the hit through their massive evasion stats, you have to interact with several facets of the combat system and make several augments just to handle things like Telethia's proximity spikes, Lugalbanda's Control and Blackout, or Pharsis' nullification of reflection.

It doesn't. The trilogy actually makes party members worthwhile

I was unaware that Irina, Elma, and Al weren't worthwhile.

Yeah, 60 was the level cap on Wii U so it's the equipment cap still. Skell frames and weapons with 70/80/90etc. in their names "break" that level cap by having stats equivalent to a level 70/80/90 weapon/frame would have, while still requiring you being level 60 or above to use. It's the reason the Ares 90 is so strong.

3 and 1 do have worse combat than 2 because you just wait for your meter

It's the combat. Xenoblade combat is too complex for normalfaggots. If the games were shooters or action/adventure games they'd sell way better. Well, unless Monolith makes the combat too complex again.

It also doesn't help that the games are incredibly long and have a lot of story. Normalfaggots typically max out at 40 hours for a singleplayer game. Xenoblade games are in the 80 - 120 hour range.

How much control resist to you need to block Vortice anyway? Because I crafted a level XX aug that gives 100 resist and still got taken over.

1

Wait for your meter

huh?? I can see 3 if you're too retarded to equip your party members and too shit at the game to know what arts to give everyone, but in 1, chain attacks suck unless you get lucky and they continue.

Some higher level tyrants require about 300 resist to actually nullify their gimmick.
I thought I was being cheeky with 100 break resist and 200 topple resist in this fight. Then I got topplelocked.

I'm sure Tora has some decent utility if you dedicate yourself to his shitty minigame but that's a waste of time.

I never played Tiger! Tiger! before post game and I just cleared the game with Tora in the party, Nia/Dromarch being my leader and Rex/Pyra. And no I didn't outlevel bosses nor grind affinity charts to max, just engaging with the mechanics. Malos battle in Morytha kinda bullshit because I had no Pyra for her hueg blade combo damage tho.

I also don't do "rushdown" methods, I think they're for meatheads who try to avoid game mechanics as much as possible.

You might be playing the wrong game series. Xenoblade does put a lot of emphasis on making numbers bigger.

you don't have level 4 blade arts ready whenever you need them. You are a disingenuous moron.

Don't waste it before the enemy does the big dick art. That's entirely on you. And it's not even your only out of prison card.

Most bosses I've met with since getting Mythra one-shot a character if you get past 50% HP and don't initiate a chain attack straight away, then I get caught in a revive loop.

Stop sucking I guess.

You mean Lugalbanda? He inflicts Debuff Resist Down V which is a 50% reduction. Ergo you need 2 XX Control Resist Augments. There's also an inherent bonus to enemies more than 5 levels higher leveled than you that gives them innate Debuff Resist Down.

Xenoblade does put a lot of emphasis on making numbers bigger.

I've cleared all superbosses in 1, X and 3. I think I'm playing exactly as intended. Rushdown methods are for people who don't know how to equip themselves properly. X is the only one that really rewards the "everything is a glass cannon" method.

3tards getting uppity again

You still have to interact with the game's mechanics. Overdrive, melee/ranged combos, art conditionals, art colors, reflect/damage reduction, status effects, topple/stagger/stun/launch, spikes, soul voices, and so on.

MOST of these are literally just spastic button mashing, specifically overdrive were you press buff buttons JUST to build the overdrive counter and not for their actual function. Please stop pretending overdrive is an interesting mechanic, it could be, but it isn’t. Doing more damage on its own isn’t an enticing concept in an rpg if its not done through actual planning instead of pressing ghostwalker and your strongest TP or TP gain skill over and over and over while the damage just continues to wrack up just because you’re in overdrive

IMG_1928.jpg - 750x1000, 52.25K

obsessed

While we're on the topic of superbosses, where the heck do I level up in Future Redeemed? Level 80 right now, I wanna get to max for the last superboss.

I should also mention that you can typically just get a Resist Debuff Resist Down XX augment instead of a 2nd Resist Control XX augment. It's 5x Forfix Miso, 1 Marine Rutile, and 2000 Miranium. Pretty cheap and helps against Lugalbanda and other high leveled enemies. Though honestly most high leveled enemies don't inflict all that many debuffs. Mainly just Pharsis and Luciel.

At least you admit sucking at 2 instead.
As for X, it's not like you can't grind yourself out of being a glass cannon both for you and the rest of the party, if you want you can fight Telethia for hours with a skell and enough attribute res, but grinding for damage is just going to be faster.

Maybe don't use a memewalker build if you think that's too cheap.
It's not like the other games don't offer cheap shit.

Ghostwalker

When most lategame enemies will chew right through your decoys with multihit attacks

When Nardacyon goes autistic at 25% and will attack faster than you can reapply decoys prior to the Definitive Edition giving you instant cooldowns

And yes, people actually do use buff arts for things other than doubling the hit counter gain on their ranged/melee arts. There are some genuinely good buffs on the "lesser" weapons. Howling Soul, Mindstorm, Ghost Factory (for keeping your party alive), Hair Trigger, and etc.

Overdrive is way more interesting than Chain Attacks. It feels good when you master Infinite Overdrive and have to balance keeping your defensive buffs up, gaining TP to reactivate Overdrive, and raising the OD counter. Photon Saber + Dual Guns is the most fun I've had in any Xenoblade game in terms of combat, and it's all because of Overdrive.

At least you admit sucking at 2 instead.

I just didn't do the postgame because I don't like it. I've never had much trouble with it.

As for X, it's not like you can't grind yourself out of being a glass cannon

Being able to grind for augments doesn't make the core gameplay better. I feel like we're arguing in circles here with you defaulting back to "just grind out this endgame build" every time.

>When most lategame enemies will chew right through your decoys with multihit attacks

Ghostwalker is OP because for its entire activation, you dodge everything, and THEN it applies the decoy status.

Wait, what’s so complex about the combat? Don’t FF14 and other MMOs have similar combat mechanics and lots of people play those? And don’t RPGs typically live and die by the depth and complexity of their gameplay mechanics?

Memewalker is genuinely harder than reflect builds. I switched to using Astrolibrium after I got a Gravity Reflect chest piece and it's amazing how you don't have to worry about multihit attacks shredding your decoys, you just have to reapply Astrolibrium every 40 seconds. No need to memewalk through a multihit attack, your reflection will nullify every hit for you.

xenoblade 1

damage oriented parties, balanced parties, turtle parties and healing are all relevant

not a perfect battle system but works very well

Xenoblade X

unlock overdrive

spam any green skill followed by any other skill color to raise the overdrive counter

cooldowns cease to exist, damage racks up just because during overdrive

the depth of the game amounts to making sure you don’t get one shot and that your premier green skill is either smooth recovery, spirit heal + the aoe aura, or the infamous ghost walker

late game you can just get an armor set that reflects all damage types

skells are pointless in combat from the moment you get them and are useful for a short amount of time when you get 60

xenoblade 2

its literally just a rushdown damage stacking game

all healing and buffing is passive

game with the largest amount of pointless mechanics and roles

xenoblade 3

actual balanced rpg mechanics like 1 again

game has larger focus on controlling your entire party, which is actually 6 characters at once this time rather than making setups like in 1

Please stop pretending overdrive is interesting when even without ghost walker you can eventually win by spamming a heal along with a damage art. Its not interesting at all its just an “i win” button that ONLY COSTS 3k tp in a game were you can get that in a single free button

I agree with this. My opinion:
3 > 1 > X > 2 for gameplay.
Technically 2 has better gameplay than X, but I find X more fun and there's not very much about 2 I actually like.

I didn’t use one and even without one you can break the game using a heal like smooth recovery instead.

Reflect builds will not happen until you’re postgame unless you autistically grind for one at midgame or something that you will just replace later anyway

You don't know what you're talking about. Try actually playing the game instead of parroting what you heard on Enel's discord.

xenoblade 3

>actual balanced rpg mechanics

haha Lucky 7 and chain attacks go brrrrrr

Try posting an argument instead of projecting your boogeyman to everyone. Also try curing your mental illness, it would be nice to have an actual conversation instead of an exchange of insults

ITT X-onlyfags having a meltdown against people who have played all the xenoblade games and rank them accordingly.

You can do reflect builds early/mid game quite easily, especially with Photon Saber. You get Thermal Reflect on one of the swimsuit armpieces, Astrolibrium gives you Beam Reflect, and you can get Gravity Reflect from generic Orphean chestpieces. The Photon Sabers also come with Reflect on them, so you can grab a GG one for Physical Reflect or a Meredith one for Ether Reflect. No grind needed, just smart building.

And no, you can't break the game with just a heal art, especially because the heal arts don't heal that much HP.

best way to level to 99 fast?

During my latest NG Bringer of Chaos run, I got cocky trying to kill this thing with Morag - Corvin (AGI 20%+), Common (AGI 20%+), Common (AGI 20%+). IIRC, I had to remove my agility-boosting greaves for a fucking Auto Balancer (who uses this?) because all my attacks were being blocked, including when I was trying to trigger I-frames.

Yeah, accordingly is X > the rest

KsyUs[1].png - 900x621, 56.94K

I just didn't do the postgame because I don't like it. I've never had much trouble with it.

Guess I imagined the part where you complained about story bosses despite using Morag. Even worse if it was Morag and Rex in the party with Mythra equipped.

Being able to grind for augments doesn't make the core gameplay better. I feel like we're arguing in circles here with you defaulting back to "just grind out this endgame build" every time.

It's an option if you want to take on postgame enemies with non-memewalker builds. If it's anything before that, idk what you are even doing.

Smooth recovery cool but I'm not sure how that saves you from getting oneshot

Yeah ghostwalker is "cheap" in the sense of costing nothing and giving you invincibility with some timing, but if we want to talk about which is the better defensive strat then attribute res is king, but also the one requiring most setup. Reflect comes right next because some enemies can still hit you through it.

They do when its smooth recovery or astral heal actually because if you actually used them you’d know they scale of potential and there are many ways to increase that in the middle of a battle.
You can even go on foot with 3 skell party members and just keep them alive with astral heal while they do all the damage and tanking. I know this because this is mainly how I played the game. I wanted to avoid ghost walker as much as possible, there was only a handful of times I opted to switch elma in for Ghost factory.

He's right though.

Which is why I mentioned in this thread already that the game is literally just ensuring you dont get one shot then spamming healing skills. Or just use ghostwalker lol

I had to remove my agility-boosting greaves for a fucking Auto Balancer (who uses this?)

I did because of this guy actually. Very frustrating without the auto balancer.

If you like soloing everything with overdrive and like 3 skills yeah sure, its definitely fun for the DAMAGE NUMBER GO UP!!!!! smooth brains.
Also none of the xenoblade chronicles game use the holy trinity, they use actual mmoesque combat, ergo, healing, buffing, tanking, damage, and debuffing are all important. Lets stop comparing the games to dogshit like FFXIV okay bro?

NTA, but have any of the Xenoblade games actually emphasised tanks? Tanks are consistently the worst or near-the worst party members or classes in every game if you actually try and use them as tanks, with shield hammers and XC3 defenders being the worst examples

debuffing

important in 3

lol
lmao even

If evasion tanking counts, sure.
If you mean damage sponge, then the first game does have Reyn.

Smooth Recovery isn't a TP art. Astral Heal is but it's a waste of a TP art slot, and believe me, Photon Sabers have enough TP arts to juggle. I would know, I've run Photon Saber all game.

KsyVR[1].png - 1173x654, 1.03M

NTA, but have any of the Xenoblade games actually emphasised tanks?

1, 2 and 3 yes.

Theres ways to avoid being one shot while keeping your entire party alive endlessly OR you can just do pic related.

image0.jpg - 640x480, 40.1K

Tanks are consistently the worst or near-the worst party members or classes in every game

X is the only game where tanks aren't essential, because you wind up being an "everything" character by the end.

Smooth Recovery is not a TP art but still scales off potential, all healing does except the B prompt and augs that recover your HP for reasons.

NTA, but have any of the Xenoblade games actually emphasised tanks?

holy shit have you ever played a xenoblade game before?
Fucking christ, even in the main story in 1, Reyn makes it a point to say Shulk is useless on his own and Reyn consistently points himself out as the tank.

That depends on your viewpoint. The answer is generally yes but most smooth brains will likely say you don’t need a tank even if its a solid viable option. 2 is really the only game were the damage stacking is so ridiculous that the average player will actually wonder what the point of a tank is. Other xenoblade games even X offer varying playstyles, X just has a really broken and overcentralizing mechanic called overdrive

How long more should I try and farm for diskbombs before just updating? I just want to go back to playing the game and have the music restart fixed, but I’ll miss the upgrade glitch….

One of the very first tutorials in xenoblade 1.

latest[1].jpg - 640x358, 74.18K

I really wish dogshit posters like this didn’t plague this fucking board

Where do you farm them? I just ran up Mount M'Gando in my skell and one-shot the Milsaadi I saw near the top.

Yeah Reyn works, but I thought it was “better” to build him for topple lock and DPS instead of tanking? And for 2, I only remember Shulk and Corvin being any good at tanking and I’d just use crit heal medals to stay alive while using level 4 specials to i-frame stuff like Kurodil’s doom? And for 3, the existence of Protector’s Pride literally penalises you for running a tank?

Have fun beating Elma redux in 2 without a(n evasion) tank
Or Corvin+Mythra+Shulk for maximum lulz

Hey guys I just started X and finished my character and met Elma lol anywhere where is the best equipment? When do I get my skells? Can I just skip everything? When do they give me the Ares? Any cheese strats? What are the best classes?

You can forego tanking is 3 with surprising ease. Healers are also strong as fuck in 3 unlike in 1, 2, and X.

Yeah Reyn works, but I thought it was “better” to build him for topple lock and DPS instead of tanking?

You can do both???? A tank should have high damage to begin with, as that contributes to their Aggro gain. An attacker that does too much damage over the tank will gain aggro and risk getting killed.
I think you were relying on your tank to save your ass and didn't even realize it.
What do you think Shulk's Shadow Eye was for?

fwiw, crit heal Mythra is bad compared to evasion Mythra. Just something to keep in mind.

Equip Sniper Rifle

Load XX appendage crusher and ranged appendage damage augments

Spam Shrapnel art with quick cooldown

Appendages drop off like it's nothing, shit's great for material farming.

Shrapnel[1].png - 240x240, 5.81K

Fiona, Miyabi and Masha's classes are the only healers worth using in 3

Use Core Crusher and switch to an Ether rifle. +150% damage is nothing to sneeze at.

with surprising ease

Ah this lie again.
You can just build up a tank or two and have significantly more survivability and also finish the battle almost as quickly you know.

A fellow Cross, neat.

Also this has probably been posted before, but there's another perk to playing online where a Tyrant's drop rate is tied to their crown. The higher rank the crown, the better the drops (I.E. getting gold chests)

Topple is better because yeah the enemy can't hit you so you don't need tanking or healing, but for most of the game you can't really pull it off consistently enough, a tank is absolutely required.
In 2 actually Tora/Poppi is fine if you don't mind losing out DPS you would get from making somebody else into an evasion tank. Shield Hammers are terrible.
X and 3 are definitely where tanking sucks the most, even if HB is ok for a good while.

Healing is strong in 1, especially when using someone as versatile as Melia.

Tanks also do damage. 1 isn’t really a dps rush game, you need mitigation and aggro control or characters like Melia just die.
The reason people are shagging at 2 is because none of those things are as necessary in that game its mostly just a damage focus game.

Kill yourself.

I always used Shulk/Fiora/Melia as my party for 1 once they were all available and never really changed them, was I playing 1 wrong all along

Considering how late Fiora becomes available again, I don't think you could. After that it could work if you do a lot of damage but otherwise it's a party of glass cannons

was I playing 1 wrong all along

Fiora can be built as a tank, but she's not as good at it as the alternatives and you don't want to use both Melia and Shulk in the same party typically. They're both only good if you're the one controlling them.
Stick Dunban or Reyn in there for a better tank. Reyn needs more upkeep and you gotta keep him healed often. Dunban you can just put in light armor+agility up+aggro up gems and he will gain everything's aggro and dodge everything and will be untouchable, allowing you to backslash or whatever.

I have a hard time believing anyone got very far without Reyn/Dunban in their party.

Fiora can tank

and you don't want to use both Melia and Shulk in the same party typically

Even the gameplay wants to keep them separated.

Unless you were using Sharla until you got Fiora, every other character is capable of tanking for Shulk/Melia. The game isn’t so hard that you can’t brute force it but you were certainly not playing efficiently and making things unnecessarily harder for yourself by using shulk and melia together

Melia is for cataclysmic nuking. She's the highest sustained damage dealer in 1, while Reyn is the strongest burst damage dealer.
Best healer in 1 is Riki, because you barely need a healer. Alas poor Sharla.
But Sharla's funny because she's useful if you suck at 1, and she's useful if you are god tier at 1. But in the middle where most people live, she's useless.

But what if I wanted Melia to be in the same party as Shulk and Fiora the whole time so that she has a front-row seat to seeing them act lovey-dovey with each other for the rest of the game? As Melia herself puts it, she “must suffer more”

Melia can still be an effective support and even healer while doing damage.

You still needed to use one of the other 3 tanks until Fiora becomes available

I’m using Heroic Tale on the Milsaadis in the Cavernous Abyss because with Heroic Tale applied they are guaranteed to drop x60 weapons, and with max cooldown + secondary cooldown from quick cooldown the Milsaadis reach level 66 which is also the sweet spot for the best ground weapons

But is 1 still the game with the most distinct party members? Everyone in X is just a worse Cross, everyone in 2 except Tora can use the same weapons but the arts differ for each driver, and in 3 the individuality of each character practically doesn’t matter when everyone can use every class and every class performs the same no matter who’s using it?

2 and X are less different than you think in what they do
Classes change entire skillsets so your argument about 3 is very dishonest

Obsessed

Based on characters themselves being unique yes, but 3 probably has the best variety, and every party member does certain roles better than others based on base stats.

Finish the bonus content

Earth wasn't just destroyed, the entire universe was

Also Elma was from another universe which was also destroyed

Mira is now being destroyed and is gone by the end

The ghosts are likely still out there blowing up universes

Nobody seems to give a shit about any of this and the game acts like everything has a happy ending

It feels like chapter 13 should have a very bleak and dark tone give the circumstances, but the characters act like this all just another adventure, it feels weird.
Did Takahashi regret the game's story and lore this much? No DE fucked this hard with the original game's world.

"3 probably has the best variety"

the game where everyone can be any class

no

that final murderess quest

thats a lot fo word for someone that die from 1 hit

3 voted as the worst (discounting expansions)

Yes when the game offers a large variety of different classes then each of those classes is a party member. Who you give them to is irrelevant. You don’t say a game like FF5 or BD has no variety just because your 4 party members are the same.

What's wrong with what I said?

Kill yourself.

My theory is that they have to wrapped up everything before the new game and if that mean killing the whole mira potential and x story, so be it.

I'm gonna cheat and say 2 because blades are effectively characters and gameplay-wise they have a larger impact than who is driving them. Not that the latter is something you should ignore mind you, but it's not the end of the world if you let Nia use KOS-MOS instead of Rex for instance.

Fair enough, not for the class only but you do have heroes tied to them.

Holy crap heroic tale is insane, it also raises the enemy level so you get to level faster since it is difference between your level and theirs
I can’t switch off knife+psycho launcher it’s too good

Yeah. And later on you can use it for farming gear.

Is it really that surprising that a board full of normalfaga that don’t play videogames would say that the open world game woth flight is the best one? I mean, we also got mecha fags backing up X to be fair and they will play a game like srw just cause of the fanservice which is fair

Man, the 3d models in xenosaga will take some getting used to... I also need to find another game to play together with the saga trilogy because reading and seeing cutscenes for hours can get very exhausting.

You don’t say a game like FF5 or BD has no variety

Are those goalposts heavy? You were comparing it to the other Xenoblades not to BD or FF5. And no it does not have more variety than 2 or X.

Shut up 3fag, your game sucks.

Please post an actual argument and not deflection.

Nope. Each weapon type in 2 has different arts for each character. In 3 the arts are always the same for each character that uses the same class.

I miss IDs already.

Please post an actual argument

You first retard.
Then go back faggot. No one wants you here.

At least you admit to samefagging.

At least you [headcanon]

Schizo

Why is swapping targets in X so ass

toggle with R

pass the guy I wanted, click L

cycles to some thing across the map

Get a level 50 skells

Finally try fight a millesaur

Fire attack one shots my team and skell

Ok.

There's also no encounter for the current number of enemies in the battle, it's kinda ass and despite being DE there's a bunch of UI stuff missing from all the other XBC games.

Those level 50 skells aren't worth shit really, you buy them for story progression and little else.
You need to take out their back appendage to prevent that fire attack though. Or you can raise your blaze resistance.

Yeah, I thought getting a level 50 would allow me to fight a 52 millesaur but nope. I tried nuking his back fast but it didn't work. Might try again.

how do you uncensor, do i need to hack my switch?

Ch13 is legitimately dogshit and makes the entire game worse for existing. I hate it so much

whenever you fight one of those things the first thing it does is multiple meteor attacks
I can't live long enough to destroy their backs before I die

Kill yourself.

Yes I initially compared it to other xenoblade games and then switched to another.
You posted no argument at all and used goalposting to ironically move the goalpost yourself but I will clarify for you anyway smoothbrain, be thankful.
Your character being completely malleable like cross specifically in X or any character in 2 means there is less variety than a game where your character is limited to a certain subset of skills either because thats how the character is designed like 1 or because of classes like 3 OR THE EXAMPLES of other games I gave you. When your characters are limited by the role they pick then it forces you to adapt to those limitations, this is why cross in x and xc2 have extremely broken mechanics because there will always be a certain weapons that will be more powerful than others, meaning the more limited game encourages experimentation more.

Level 50 skells can absolutely take out Millesaurs. You want high powered arts, the skells don't really matter other than being venues for the arts.

Go and do the Mechanical Field Quest (Off the Record) and get a level 50 super weapon. You will easily be able to destroy Millesaurs.

That last Elma affinity mission

It feels like Ch13 was either a first draft that was scrapped and someone added it back in with no changes or it was written by a complete newbie who joined post-2020.

I'm enjoying my anger over it being so bad.

Interesting how this shit always gets spammed right at the same time. Really makes you think.

I have done that quest, where do I go to get one?

Perhaps one day we'll set sail on another white whale

after finding out all there is to know about Mira, right? Elma?

You can find Antimatter Rifle (probably the best level 50 one) in Noctilum North of FN205. It's in a Mechanical Field Skill chest.

Takahashi did say that Future Connected happened because they felt bad for Melia….half-jokingly

I should mention you need flight to find it. It's up in the branches.

Fortun is a yandere loli, you can't prove me otherwise.

Kill yourself.

Takahashi did say that Future Connected happened because they felt bad for Melia
