Where do you want The Elder Scrolls 7 to take place?

I'd like it if it was a Valenwood + Elsweyr combo since they're both almost half the size of Skyrim, or even Morrowind mainland + Black Marsh if they want to do something bigger, Summerset Isles seem too small to do on it's own too

The Pits.
My boy needs some lore loving (but not from Bethesda)

Summerset Isles seem too small to do on it's own too

I would prefer they do a smaller province honestly, the scale of Oblivion and Skyrim is all fucked up because they're trying to fit an entire province into one map. like I don't expect a Daggerfall-size map, but Skyrim felt way too small for what it was supposed to be.

anyway, I'd like Black Marsh cause I'm a sucker for swamp environments

Honestly my favorite races are the Ebonheart pact races. Argonians, Dunmer, and Nords in that order, and I always play an Argonian spellsword, a Dunmer mage, and a Nordic warrior in that order, and I've only ever bought Skyrim and Morrowind. Obviously, I want Black Marsh because I hope it will be New Weird like how Morrowind was with a lot of creative concepts and an alien enviroment with cultures devoid of not only something Non-Western, but something not even found on Earth, my favorite aspects of Morrowind. It would also help to flesh out the Argonians in general, since they are one of the races that don't have more lore or political relevance to them despite their presence in the story (More so in Morrowind). I would probably have the central hub be in Helstrom and include some areas in Morrowind and Cyrodiil to round up the map, and have a DLC focused in Elsweyr or in Morrowind. I will admit I never played EOS online because I have a staunch stance against playing MMORPGs due to my addictive personality, so I really don't know how Black Marsh is depicted in that game and how lore accurate it is.

let's be real here, they ain't gonna do a cat/lizard people elder scrolls. Shit's not going to sell
It probably will be Summerset

Summerset/Valenwood/Elsweyr wombo combo??

Honestly they just need to do one of the weird/whacky regions. But TES 6 will 100% be Hammerfell or High Rock and TES 7 will be whichever one 6 isn't. They also need to make sure they're fucking nothing like the awful execution those regions got in TES Online.

I don't want Bethesda to touch any of the actually exotic provinces like Valenwood, Black Marsh or Summerset because they would just fuck those up the same way they fucked up Cyrodiil.
Hammerfell is the obvious choice, if only because it would be much harder to fuck up, but I bet they would fuck it up anyway.

Black Marsh would be neat. Dense awful swamp adventure.

Looking at this map makes me realise how small Valenwood would be if they kept the same scale as the other games, supposed to be this huge great forest but it would only take like 10 minutes to run from one end to the other

Being a forest environment there's plenty of ways to slow down movement to make it seem artificially bigger. Elsweyr is the one where you'd zoom across it in 5 minutes because it's a desert.

Disregard Tamriel and place 7 in the Sea of Pearls. I want to stab some Sload's to death.

I want all of tamriel and I want to zoom across it as peninal whitestrake schizo slaughtering every elf i see

I would like to see the entire map in one game. It feels like video games are retreading the same garbage over and over, it would be nice to see someone make an attempt to push the industry forward.

Summerset Isles would be big enough if they include the big island south of it, Valenport to the east and the small islands to the north

nirn map.jpg - 3322x1500, 1.16M

Cat and Lizard will literally never, EVER get a mainline game to themselves, they are bit part side races. The series has and always will focus on the struggles between Man and Mer.

I feel scale changes a lot between games. Looking at this map it would take the same amount of time to go from Whiterun to Winterhold as it would from Cheydinhal to Bruma, but the latter is a very quick run, maybe 5-6 minutes, but the prior is quite slow. That might just be because Oblivion has faster movement than Skyrim though.

Similarly the run from Balmora to Vivec feels like a fucking eternity compared to either of the above, even though that's a very short skip and jump looking at the map. Closer than Skingrad to Kvatch. As a side note its funny looking at the map and seeing the channel that surrounds Vvardenfell is thinner in parts than the river in the Nibenay.

Does Tamriel have a cool underwater city? I want to go there

I want them to do one of the weird provinces again, either Black Marsh or Elswyr or maybe Valenwood. Akavir would be amazing. They will never do anything they can't shit out into general fantasy anymore because Bethsoft has been creatively bankrupt for decades.

The gap between Arena and Daggerfall was 2 years.
Between Daggerfall and Morrowind 6 years.
Between Morrowind and Oblivion 4 years.
Between Oblivion and Skyrim was 5 years.
The gap between Skyrim and TES 6 has been 14 years and counting.

And you guys really think you're seeing a TES 7?

I'm more wondering how TES6 will handle things.

Neverarine left for Akaviri lands

Hero of Kvatch became Sheogorath

How will The Last Dragonborn be written out to explain why they aren't using their godly powers for helping with whatever the current world-ending threat is?

I feel like the mainstream masses are ready for one of the weird provinces without being turned off by it, I think a Valenwood/Elseyr mix would be the best

Hermeous Mora gobbled them up

They would just turn it into slop even if they did one of the weird provinces

Anywhere is fine. Just do one province and for the love of god implement every FUCKING CITY PROPERLY. Playing Oblivion again with the remaster and seeing its every distinct city reminded me how fucking shit Skyrim treated it's cities

Falkreath, the literal birthplace of the current empire, the seat of Tiber Septim's liege Emperor Zero

Dawnstar which has a whole Elder Scrolls spin-off named after it

Winterhold which was, for the longest time, the great capital of Skyrim

All of these great "cities" are just bigger villages in Skyrim. That's a whooping 4 out of 9. Hell, fucking RIVERWOOD is bigger than Winterhold. And Bethesda didn't even show the decency of giving that city a Hearthfire home. Why is it in such a sorry state. Sure half the city "collapsed" but where's the wreckage? Where are the fucking WALLS? Did the walls around the surviving part of the city just magically disappear?
When you guys ask for 2-3 provinces just make sure to remember this is Bethesda we're talking about. Quality > quantity.

The Last Dragonborn fucked off to Sovngarde once he did everything, or got trapped in Apocrypha like Miraak. Those are two perfectly possible outcomes.

High Rock + Hammerfell
But too bad BGS is such a worthless game developer now.

Where do you want The Elder Scrolls 7 to take place?

Akavar

Valenwood + Elsweyr IF we could get all the weird shit Bosmer and Khajiit get up to. Since we won't, make it Hammerfel with some generic fantasy setting and be done with it.

No and I am thankful that starfield made me realize not to care. Bethesda's best day are behind them without a doubt.

Realistically I would like the entirety of tamriel, but throwing a wilcard in there, I would actually like them to complete tamriel in ESO then make a new TES on the entirety of one of the other continent. Would like to see the monkey and snake races.

Knowing how bethesda likes to shit on it's own lore: Probably the last dragonborn turned out to be really weak and died from a turnip or something.

Naive take

An Elsweyr game where only Khajiiti players can eat the vast majority of food items because everything they eat is laced with moon sugar would be too kino so it won't happen

Oblivion and Skyrim both have shitty small cities that are contained within loading screens.

Their size is the way they are because of gameplay limitations since they want every house to be traversible. The point I'm trying to make is why make them even smaller? Oblivion has 8 cities with distinct architecture at least (don't really know if Kvatch reuses assets) Skyrim has 5.

The hell you talking about? People rave about Morrowind. and any of the weirder provinces can't be any weirder from the weird ass shit in the average Soulsborne game or ENA: Dream BBQ or Mouthwashing. At the very least a Black Marsh / Elseyr game would be carried by furries and scalies.

Black Marsh so they have to bring back spears for my lizard niggas

there isn’t going to be an ES 7 if 6 flops

The issue is not that their audience wouldn't like a weird game, the issue is that Bethesda is no longer capable of actually making a weird game

Probably Sovngarde, it feels like a fitting end for the Dragonborn. Getting trapped in Apocrypha is too depressing considering the Hero of Kvatch is afflicted with the curse of Sheogorath.

I will say having the god of madness be a literal state of madness that overcomes a particular person is one of the coolest concepts in the Elder Scrolls.

Summerset Isles seem too small to do on it's own too

Just up the scale. Elder scrolls maps have always been really small for how big they are written in lore. Like no way a trip from Markarth to Riften should take 15 minutes

Seeing the concept art of Fallout 3 vs Fallout 3 in reality still breaks my heart so much of what could have been.

ES 4 Remastered is making bank right now
ES 5 still has a sizable playerbase almost a decade and a half after release
ES Online pulls decent player numbers, too

AKAVIR
AND I WANT TO FINLLY KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO THE FUCKING DWEMER.

TES is the GTA of the RPG gender. People will buy it no matter what.

To be fair, the Hero of Kvatch is really a literal who as far as the three modern ES PCs go. The Nerevarine was a reborn ancient hero who saved the world from Dagoth Ur, the Last Dragonborn saved the world from Alduin stepping out of line, and Martin Septim was the real hero of the Oblivion Crisis who saved the world from Dagon.
Becoming Sheogorath's host at least let them have some kind legacy instead of just being some rando who tagged along while the last Septim banished Mehrunes Dagon.

they will recoup that loss in a week with morrowind remake

Black Marsh or Elsweyr
or both (with parts of Cyrodiil as territory that the empire lost). I think a storyline of a proxy war between Argonians and Kahjiit with the Aldmeri Dominion supporting the Kahjiit and Dark elves of Morrowind ironically supporting the Argonians out of convenience would make an interesting storyline.

why not cover the border dispute/skirmishes between argonians and dunmer instead? mainland morrowind could be dlc

Bethesda is dead. just look at what they released with starfield

even the oblivion remaster is just the OG engine and ue5 running at the same time

It's not. That's just how Mantling works. The Hero of Kvatch became Sheogorath as they knew the Prince, and Sheogorath became the Hero of Kvatch as they were in their mortal life. Where one ended and the other began became unclear. And the blend tipped further towards Sheogorath for pretty intuitive reasons. The original Jyggalag is completely gone. Presumably subsumed into the Padomaic Volume. And the Hero of Kvatch became Sheogorath, filling the space Jyggalag left behind because the previous incarnation of Sheogorath had left all the means to do it behind. It didn't matter that the Hero didn't look like Sheogorath. They had the outfit, the staff, the throne, the realm and most importantly, the consensus, as well as true, uncontested belief that they had inherited the role and the power. And the dream tweaked itself slowly, then all at once until the difference was forgotten altogether. It's like looking away from a painting in a dream, then looking back, feeling like it changed, then becoming convinced it never changed at all.

they would have to add a whole new skill tree for pole arms(should have had it to begin with imo)

Summerset Isles, playing as an extremely racist high elf.
