Stardew Valley

there are farmers on Anon Babble who sold their soul to Joja

Explain yourselves, traitors.

some people just want to watch the world produce low priced carbonated drinks

Graveyard Keeper is better.

jas

Every yank did this
Their religion is mass consumption and jews

Better on mobile playing in your bed lying down yet it's dead and abandoned on mobile platform.

Heck, Stardew Valley is best played the same way on your phone too. I just don't like the tumblrina character splash sprite.

inb4 mod it with Harvest Moon sprites

yeah.. I'll play the O.G or even GBA's TOMT if I want to play an actual Harvest Moon... but there's just something in Stardew that expanded upon it. like the ease of accesibility or UI QOL

Doing it to spite the shithead general store owner is pretty based, to be honest.

never went down the joja route
what are the in-game implications of selling out to them?

the owner lets you bring her preteen daughter home with you every other night

its a game, its fun
if you play it for the parasocial stuff you might just be more autistic than the minmaxers

The communikty center is a woke leftist bio eco envoiremental and climate friendy "save le heckin endangered animals" option, while Joja is BASED right wing anti woke and climate destroying, polluting and animal killing option!
Also pierre is an asshole and Lewis is a stupid idealist who clings to old obsolete values.
It's tikme for humanity to advance from the middle ages and show mother nature who is boss.
The Joja development form helps the economy of the value and human advanvcement.

Jased.

Playing for the first time, this is my farm currently and year 2 is about to begin. The house is upgraded with the kitchen.

I'm enjoying the game but I wish combat was actually serious and you could die if not careful, these slimes and insects are a joke.

stardewfarm.png - 1280x1040, 1.15M

it makes sense for long term sustainability
what, you think lewis could upkeep the town after the farmer picks it back up?
and what's gonna happen when you're gone, and your kids don't want to pick up the farm? bank on whoever replaces lewis to be good at running a town?

I'm enjoying the game but I wish combat was actually serious and you could die if not careful, these slimes and insects are a joke.

Without spoiling too much, there are more dungeons than the mines.
Just wait 'till you see the later ones.

joja is happy to do things for me if i give them money. they dont require me to do a bunch of ridiculous and pointless tasks at the community center just to improve the town. i fail to see how joja are the bad guys

Install the proper mod and cuck him.

fucking over the one ace in the hole that the republic has against the empire

Disregard your local community
Stand firm with the needs of the greater nation at large

There are no in game implications. All it really does is give you faster access to the greenhouse and ginger island as you don't have to wait for each seasons CC bundles

fighting over unfaithful goods

he's already being cucked anyway

Wish the combat was more serious

Sounds like someone hasn't been going to skull cavern the desert. The base mines are a cake walk compared to them

I tried getting online on the switch version but after 2 hours nobody seems to have connected?

Does that version not have drop in & out multiple player?

Without spoiling too much, there are more dungeons than the mines.

Oh, that is good to know.

It took me until Winter to figure out I have to complete the stuff at the Community Center in order to unlock more content. I spent almost all of year 1 just tending to the farm, trying to fulfill requests and wooing Haley.

I found this sword on a treasure chest while fishing and no other weapon at the adventurer shop has come even close so far, I kill stuff in one hit with it. The deepest I went in the mines was level 37.

stardewsword.jpg - 1340x870, 264.65K

37

Oh your in for a treat just remember to bring a fishing pole after you reach floor 100 to get a lava ell

stock up on bombs and breeze through the mines

Yeah I'll stop wasting time doing fuckall and try to actually finish the Community Center and get as far as I can in the mines now.

nta but aren't they super good at finding ore too?

I tried this game after having it hyped to me by people on Anon Babble but it's complete dogshit. It convinces me people who claim X is better than SDV people are all full of shit.

Capitalism, ho!

Is there any way to get the dog to shut the fuck up without having to mute all animal sounds or get rid of it if making it shut up is not possible?

its ok but it feels unfinished, like half the game is missing

Year 2, finally seeing some green again for a change.

starjew.png - 1280x1040, 1.95M

Slimes and insects? Sounds like you haven't gotten very deep in the mines. The early levels of the mines are not intended to be that risky because without copper ore and other basic minerals you get from the mines it's pretty hard to do anything on the farm. It gets harder the deeper you go, and more enemies get introduced once you hit certain checkpoints. If all you're fighting are slimes and insects for the most part it sounds like you haven't hit the first major checkpoint yet.

It took me until Winter to figure out I have to complete the stuff at the Community Center in order to unlock more content.

Did you just never go back to the CC after visiting the wizard about the mysterious writing?

You can actually move the dog house at the wood cutter shop

When is somebody going to make rune factory 4 but better including dragon lolibaba romance?

Is that the farm where monsters can spawn at night?

That's the default farm, anonymous.

I wanted the achievement

no it isn't

It looks like the normal farm.

It's Jas!

The mines are generally quite harmless even if you are undergeared.
It gets dangerous in the (SPOILERS) Skull Cavern where enemies start doing serious damage and dodging them is difficult due to the way your character moves. The strict time limit doesn't exactly help. I haven't yet figured out how to do the Skull Cavern without taking any damage.

I'm enjoying the game but I wish combat was actually serious and you could die if not careful, these slimes and insects are a joke.

Bro you are in for a rough time when you get deeper into it. Some of the late game caves are ridiculous and I still have PTSD from them. They're fucking relentless.

I remember trying to bliz into the desert dungeon at launch with the elf dagger for kicks & getting shredded

I baked hundreds of pink cakes and I keep chugging trough them when I visit the more dangerous caves.

However the hardest part of the game is by far Journey of the Prairie King. It's like a real Arcade game, except you can't keep feeding quarters. Don't know what they were thinking when putting that into an otherwise casual game.

The mines are generally quite harmless even if you are undergeared.

Red slimes actually hit pretty hard. And can spawn in groups. With a low level weapon you're gonna be swatting at them for a while because of how tough they are, and if even one gets past your guard it will chunk your hp. I wouldn't really call this "difficult" but it's definitely more "challenging" in the sense that combat wastes a lot more of your time which makes it harder to progress or gather the resources you want. Also having to carry healing items takes up space in the backpack, so the game basically encourages you to git gud and not take damage so you can carry more. You eat BEFORE going into the mines to improve luck / speed / mining and then do your best to not get hit, eat cave carrots for energy.

these threads don't get that much traction anymore do they?

Game's almost a decade old and there's a mod on Anon Babble that actively suppressed discussion of it for years, so there was no permanent SDV community able to develop here, really. There's a SDV thread on Anon Babble but it's very slow as well, and mostly about discussing mods.

It was my second run and i figured i could get the Cheevo?

Neptune's glaive is a pretty good find early game, but its outclassed by stuff you find later.

Journey of the Prairie King is very easy after you see someone beat it once, since the order of upgrades you buy is the most important thing.
I probably played like 6 hours or more of Junimo Kart without beating it. The final level gets me every single time, and even the ones before it can be pure bullshit because they're random.

I never thought Stardew Valley could get my adrenaline going but going super deep into skull cavern for the first time had me wired.

As soon as it started raining IRL, I get a rainy day in-game.

Sounds like you haven't gotten very deep in the mines.

Level 37 is the farthest I've been, it's difficult to navigate because it gets too dark. I've fought bats and a weird stone skeleton thing as well but only at levels 30+, it's mostly slimes and insects otherwise.

Did you just never go back to the CC after visiting the wizard about the mysterious writing?

No

Standard farm.

stardewrain.jpg - 1439x899, 395.09K

it started raining IRL, I get a rainy day in-game

kino
shit like this is why i boot up skyrim during snow days

I rebuilt the Community Center, but now I don't really know what to do with the rest of Year 2.

Also, Pierre is a bitch, I'm gonna fuck his wife.

it's difficult to navigate because it gets too dark.

Ah right, you might not know but there are magic rings you can wear and one of them emits light, it's called the Glow Ring. Finding it is basically RNG but the deeper you go the more likely you are to find it, especially with boosts to luck. You can also find them from fishing treasure chests. A better version of it is the Glowstone Ring which combines a glow ring's effects with a magnet ring's effects (increases pick-up radius for items), and the best thing about the Glowstone Ring is that you can craft it starting at Mining skill level 4, though it requires materials you won't have access to if you're not able to at least get to level 51.

To me Joja was just the easier way to unlock stuff while I optimized my money grind farm. If you wanna play stardew like a woman you can still do the other route

Make kegs or jars

Rebuilding the community center is where the rest of the game's content finally unlocks. By that point you're free to spend most of your time in the desert, plus you have Ginger Island to explore.

Caroline can fucking get it.

What's up with these married women all being so attractive?

What are the best content mods?

dogshit boring grinding game

game is about getting away from your soulless corporate job to start a new life getting in touch with nature in the countryside

choose to get in bed with the exact same corporate you escaped from and turn your grandpa's farm into the same kind of soulless money making machine you worked for

I don't get it either.

Bros I just started this but my autism causes me to overthink and feel like I'm fucking something up. I've got a small farm and a few crops and I'm mostly focusing on clearing out trees and such. How do I unlock the caves?

It has to be on purpose, right!? All the Best Girls in this game are already taken, it's shenanigans, all of it!

The cave on your farm or the mines?

It's been over a year since the last update. Most people have played and moved on. If ape decides to make a 1.7 it might pick up but until then it's hit or miss

i can't on good conscious take jodi away from kent

The C-team mod is unironically better than nearly any NPC mod on Nexus.

Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons

you can't marry the MILFs

Rune Factory

you can't marry the MILFs or the dragon

Stardew Valley

you can marry another man BUT YOU STILL CAN'T MARRY THE MILFS

The mines unlock in the first week of the game. Wake up, water your crops, clear some trees and what not then put all the wood, fiber, stones etc into a chest, and leave your farm to explore. There's 3 different exits from your farm by the way. The main one that leads to Pelican town, to the east, but also a northern path up to the mountains and a southern path to Cindersap woods. Try taking each of these exits to explore and see what you find.

The mines are located up in the mountains, past Robin's house (the redheaded woodcutter you meet at the start). If you try going to the mines past Robin's house before they open up you'll find the path blocked by a landslide and being cleared out by workers. You'll receive some kind of notice in the mail when the cleanup is finished.

OK, that's fair, there's still Marnie. Mayor Lewis won't even hold hands with her in public, the fat fuck.

What made you choose Jas over all the other options?

She's already pretty unique as is with the little personality she has in vanilla, but the mod elevates her to 10/10 daughterwife material.

jas (2).png - 1824x1027, 131.97K

all the other options?

Why other little girl characters exist in SDV?

Jodi has a funny sex scene in the mod

figure Clint might enjoy a gem as a birthday gift, since he is a blacksmith and works with gems

give him a quartz

"This makes me depressed"

mfw

02.jpg - 1280x720, 31.75K

Quartz isn't really a gem. Clint actually does like precious gems, though. Emeralds, rubies, etc. He also likes Jade, too. Strangely enough, Willy likes Quartz as a gift.

Which mod?

What's the location for octopus & sturgeon again was it the mountains lake or the small pond near the traveling merchant stall always get them mixed up?

Sturgeons are found in the mountain lake (by Robin's House / the mines) only in summer and winter, during the daytime (morning or afternoon). Octopi are caught anywhere in the ocean during the summer, but only in the morning. I think you can catch them as late as 1 or 2 PM, but after that nothing. Be warned, Octopi are VERY hard to catch at a low fishing skill and low quality rod. They will filter you at first. Sturgeons are also fairly challenging but more achievable without high level fishing skill and gear.

Incidentally here's a chart for fishing, though it's years old so might not have evrything on it.

fishing chart.png - 1920x1080, 876.64K

I just found his reaction hilarious.

The people at Pelican Town are the nicest in the world until you gift them something they happen to not like, then they are like "Fuck this garbage" which is funny as fuck.

Yeah that is true. I like Emily's negative reactions.

Xtardew

I don't see it on moding haven unless it has another name

Sandrock

you CAN marry the milf

even though she is hot, she is one of the worst girls

I found out that posting burly men makes cunnytards lose interest in the thread.

ENGIBROS.gif - 680x564, 1.65M

Which stardew valley sex mod works with an alternative portrait pack that actually looks appealing.

I thought it would result in cheaper seed prices, but they cost more that Pierre's?

it made no sense. filled my whole body with cringe.

i prefer hardcore farmsims

he didn't pick the cat

he picked the worst pet

Shiggy.

Beautiful

Bitch what the fuck are you gonna cook with just eggplant and corn? I rather eat out the garbage than whatever the hell you're cooking up.

Jokes on you pal I like both

i've been away for like a year, how's the mod scene goin after the update?

Thanks anon that will be a huge help next to my six apple trees come fall!

cat

Thanks but I'm not a faggot.

go to build a shed in Stardew

"give me some wood"

chop down a dozen trees

"thanks it'll be done in a few days"

VERSUS

go to build a shed in Graveyard Keeper

"I need an entire forest worth of wooden planks, three notorious carpenters that'll only work for you if you beat their gay little fetch quest, and the skeleton of a man that died while wearing purple shoes"

chop down half a tree

"oh BTW you need to process every individual piece of wood at the lumbermill, which will only work for you if you serve chicken Alfredo to the priest on a Wednesday"

"to cook chicken Alfredo you need to raise five chickens. To raise chickens, you need a chicken coops. Talk to Asmodius the Ass-Raper if you wan-"

Every single thing in that miserable game is exactly that tedious. Fuck your chore of a game.

Only cucks pick the dog because they like to fantasize about their wife cheating on them with the dog.

He really knew exactly what he was doing writing Caroline & then not having the player able to win her over, she even gets her own "sad" theme in the tea house behind the general shop!

is it actually? they gave me a review copy to stream and it was definitely fun at first, but quickly devolved into a muddled mess. it didn't feel like sandbox yet had no clear direction. the wiki was shit, too. has it improved since release?

did anyone ever make a mod that allowed you to move things around in your workyard and crypt without dismantling and replacing each item

old expansion mods are all dead (SVE is finished, RSV has no big updates planned for the foreseeable future, East Scarp is getting one possibly final big update)

new expansion mods are hyper pozzed

newer NPC/content mods have regressed back to 1.5 days and now use a gorillion dependencies/frameworks just for one extremely niche feature each

anon mods are on the cutting edge of cool new features while Nexus fags are still playing catch up (we have an anon-exclusive framework for CGs while they have nothing)

the official SDV pisscord is now actively slandering lewd mods for straight men and trying to stop them from getting more popular than their gay mods (the FtM troon author behind the Diverse Stardew mod tried to claim the korean big booba mod inspired by an anon mod is AIshit while promoting her mod at the same time, thankfully it failed with the former riding the frontpage to the end while the latter fell out like a bitch)

the death of Free Love has been a massive blow, we're STILL stuck with the buggy as fuck literal troon alternative and it doesn't look like that's changing anytime soon

NPC Adventures being deader than dead because the troon author (notice a pattern here?) refuses to make it open source also stings hard

Making mods is infinitely better now but while options have expanded, the community has taken a sharp turn for the worse. I fucking hate in here.

hagfags crying and bitching for years about the lack of hag mods

meanwhile lolichads have been creating their own mods and OC for years, inspiring even more anons to make their own mods or joining the SV community

mods

But I bought the PS4 version & double dipping for the cousins on switch they absolutely love it but don't know how to properly plant crops so they all end up withering away by the following season

Brehs, be honest with me, is my farm layout retarded?

I'm trying to figure out where to build a barn and a fish pond but I think I'm doing something stupid here.

stardew.png - 1280x1040, 1.91M

You're on Year 2 and literally the only thing on your farm is a basic coop. "Retarded" and "doing something stupid" are the understatements of the century.

How can you tell he's on Year 2?

You're on Year 2 and literally the only thing on your farm is a basic coop

I also have a silo!

See

I posted a few other screenshots

That looks like my day 2 farm, bro

See all those trees & stone in the foreground go chop smash & packed em into chest you'll need them later for more advanced building materials!

Also keep the tall leafs you'll need them for totems later on!

Oh, well shit even if its a first time playthrough that is pretty sad.

Sometimes I just can't be bothered to wait a full nother in game year just to get one fish I missed from a season or something.
Life's just better with Joja, I just dump money at them and everything works, I don't have to google the location of a fish to know that it only spawns at the lake between 5 and 9 PM on Thursdays and glue my eyes to the wiki.

We desperately need a mod repository that isn't as uber pozzed as nexus, it's clear that it's one of the biggest reasons why shit like this keeps happening, not just with the SDV modding community (which was always bound to end up with millions of troons in it because of the nature of the game itself) but all other video games featured in it.

The dungeons don't really get any harder than this.
It's just an endurance trial even when you get to the later ones.
You either run out of inventory/patience and leave after being in there the entire day or you decide to do some dumb shit and die after throwing 30 bombs in a row to speed things up and take some damage from a random source, or just run out of stamina and get knocked out until you get Diddied by a ninja.

the death of Free Love has been a massive blow, we're STILL stuck with the buggy as fuck literal troon alternative and it doesn't look like that's changing anytime soon

I just use the github version even if the author abandoned it, it works fine for me. Although I wish someone else would take over and continue to work on it.

I really liked it at first, but it soon became an overcomplicated mess. Progressing felt like such a chore.
Stardew mogs it pretty hard. Just simple, satisfying gameplay.

There's literally dozens of pngs/guides on what fish & seasons to hunt for fish m8 that's part of the entire charm & fun

Thoughts on this guy?

.png - 128x128, 3.89K

Looks like he'd a good friend irl, unless you wanted to get with the Emily.

i remember seeing a video about the creator of this game.
i forgot what video that was

title?

He has potential to be less pitiful if CA expanded on his backstory a bit
We know that he's only working as a blacksmith because he feels obligated to because of his family (even if he is really good at it)
so my thoughts are he could be portrayed more as a guy who had a rebellious phase like Sebastian but it didn't pan out once he moved to the city so he had to come crawling back to take over the family business
It would help explain his bitter, cynical attitude
And it could also tie into some events with Sebastian, like maybe Sebastian's motorcycle used to be Clint's or something

It has in fact only gotten worse with time and DLC.

oh no!
truthfully i've thought about GK a handful of times since then, feeling a bit of longing to pick it up anew, but could never go through with it. figured the experience wouldn't be much better. shame.

wanted to make my own mod with kanna to join in on the antics

real life gets in the way and can't

it's a shame, but it's nice to see other anons hard at work with their mods
hilarious how effortless they mogged the nexus creations and the de-pozz mod for the expansions on nexus are a godsend

do you put stuff in it?

which building should I support?

the derelict community center that nobody cares about?

or, a warehouse that would bring jobs to the community?

which merchant should I support?

the scummy local merchant that takes credit for everything I do, overcharges for everything I buy, and undercuts me for everything I sell?

or, the corporate businessman that's upfront about people not knowing anything about who I am, and gets me the financial backing to do my job?

You get to cuck that hack fraud Pierre canonically instead of installing the mod that lets you do it directly

Everyone hates bullying until a good punching bag comes around.

So you should probably farm right in front of your house. There's no reason to waste time walking over by the greenhouse foundation. Just clear the land in front of your house and farm there.

As for your planting layout, by year 2 most people have sprinklers and are planting based on their sprinkler availability. You have to manually craft sprinklers from materials you get from the mines, but you're not very deep into the mines so you won't even have access to iron which is a requirement for even the lowest tier of sprinkler that only waters 4 spaces around it. You could buy the iron, I guess, but that's tremendously wasteful when it's so easy to mine. You probably don't have a lot of cash anyway.

I would say your number 1 priority would be getting to the ice floors of the mines where you find iron ore. Iron ore will open up a lot of crafting for you plus higher tiers of tool upgrades. Normally I suggest to people to ignore basic sprinklers and hold out til quality sprinklers (which require gold and refined quartz) but level 80 in the mines is probably a ways off for you, so maybe build some basic sprinklers. They just cost 1 iron bar and 1 copper bar to make, and if you place them in a row between your current crop setup everything will be watered automatically every day.

Your next priority is to start finishing CC bundles as fast as you can. The pantry is going to be the one you want to focus hard on because it requires planning your crops each season. Finishing the pantry in the CC will unlock the greenhouse on your farm (that destroyed building foundation you planted your crops in front of). The greenhouse grows crops of any season all year round. It's fantastic for making money long-term.

In my 300+ hours Ive only ever felt bad for Pierre. He cant cut it and he knows it. Let him have my scraps, Im a fucking millionaire.

Pierre is a tremendous fucking cunt that brings misery and misfortune upon himself. I MIGHT feel sorry for him if this weren't the case.

I'm too busy planting crops in my field planting babies in my wife and making millions off my ancient fruit winery.

Every time I hear one of the NPCs talking about Pierre claiming credit for the crops I sold them I pay his wife Caroline a little visit...

So basically normal crafting materials are wood stone & hardwood, everything else gets more involved later on?

You can do all of that on the Joja route without letting a lying, scheming RAT profit off of your good name.

Wood and stone are the main materials for buildings. Hardwood for top tier stuff. Sometimes you also need clay, which you find occasionally by tilling dirt or sand. Tilling dirt patches in the mines is a good way to find some also.

Crafting artisan machines and whatnot, like cheese makers, kegs, preserves jars, etc often require minerals and metals from the mines, drops from enemies, or specialized components you get from other machines and devices. Battery packs are a good example. Only way to get them (aside from the traveling merchant or very rare enemy drop) is lightning rods. They get struck by lightning during thunder storms then spit out a battery later. Batteries are ingredients used in a few things, but most notably in Iridium Sprinklers, the highest tier of sprinkler. The lightning rod itself is an oddity because it needs iron and bat wings, of all things. So you see, it behooves you to just have chests full of random shit you find in the mines or woods. You will use most of it. Not all, but you don't really know what's safe to throw out or sell for chump change til you've explored the crafting menu.

Basically step 1: chop down a bunch of fucking trees on your property and sink a lot of the wood into chests to store materials. You're going to need a lot of chests.

Do you use portrait mods

5A0sEY.jpg - 1583x629, 379.46K

Suffers from CA's dogshit writing like every other character, except you never get to see him stop being an annoying loser. If CA cared about Clint he could have him go to the desert to get iridium, meet Sandy, and accidentally rizz her up because he's an autist with oneitis and he's too stuck in his own head to realize the shopkeep stuck in bumfuck nowhere is gagging for the buff blacksmith that thinks clearing a death cave is just a chore.

He has potential to be less pitiful if CA expanded on his backstory a bit

We know that he's only working as a blacksmith because he feels obligated to because of his family (even if he is really good at it)

I could be completely wrong about this since my mental image of blacksmiths come from videogames and I don't know how it was in real life but in a feudal or fantasy setting where people use swords and armors wouldn't blacksmithing be a well paid, prestigious, manlier and better job than 90% of the alternatives like being a cucked farmer or berry picker?

You could build your own tools to become self-sufficient and weapons to fuck shit up if needed, just being a blacksmith means you are already strong. I don't think I'd feel bad about it.

Whats wrong with their faces?

The reason why Smith (and most European language equivalents) is the most common last name in the west is because smiths didn't have to go to war and die and could instead stay to fuck everyone's wives

326.jpg - 736x552, 48.42K

Life's better with Joja.

Morris_Happy.png - 512x512, 5.49K

Now I have a barn, soon no one's gonna laugh at my farm anymore.

stardewbarn.jpg - 1440x900, 603.24K

overcharges for everything I buy

he's cheaper than joja ironically

No offense, but judging by the state of the land, the farm is a bow on a pig.

It doesn't make sense that Joja charges more than Pierre if you aren't a member, they should be charging the same amount and then have a 10% discount on everything or something if you become a member. I never understood the appeal of those stores that make you buy a fucking membership just to be able to shop there.

picked the forest farm because I thought having trees would be comfy

now 2 years into the game and realize the map is just small compared to the standard farm and nothing was stopping me from just planting a bunch of trees there either and regret it

Anyways to fully modify and change it or am I screwed?

Rural blacksmiths weren't necessarily wealthy but they were usually respected craftsmen, not just in their own community but the surrounding ones as well, since not every village had a blacksmith. That meant if your village did have one, you would periodically get people from outlying farmsteads and villages coming in to trade with the smith for iron tools and whatnot. Because these poor rural farmers tended to barter, it meant a rural smith's business didn't necessarily make him wealthy in terms of coin, but it did mean he never went hungry. Such smiths were considered too important to the local economy to be drafted into the army, and sometimes even got exempted from taxes.

Different for urban blacksmiths, though. Any sizable town or city had multiple blacksmiths competing against one another for business, so their individual value was lessened, unless they enjoyed a particularly high reputation for quality and output. Because most people living in towns and cities had money, smiths in cities were paid in coin, and were richer for it. However they were also the ones drafted into the army when the army needed smiths for the campaign. Cause boy does an army need blacksmiths.

That was the only part of the game I didn't complete. I achieved the Perfection achievement and it was a miserable grind but I didn't even get anywhere near to completing Prairie King, or the other game with the junimo in a minecart.

I'm still mad none of the clones give me the same enjoyment, Sandrock was alright but making you wait the entire game to marry the childhood friend is sinful.

I did it for the cheevo. I got really into character, too - I went full Reddit. Made Leah my girlfriend (but never married because that's the patriarchy), adopted a cat named Furbaby, and never got any other animals because they would add some soul to my lifeless farm.

Now all I have left is Fector's Challenge.

You forgot access to hardwood super early with the copper axe

You already get to cuck Pierre by marrying his daughter (the best girl in town currently of age).

just restore the abandoned town hall by yourself while the worthless mayor erects a statue of himself bro

Nah at least Joja does something for the village.

I mean yeah I did get some early access to hardwood, but after two years it's not that big of a deal.

Forest farm is my favorite farm. The lack of space doesn't hurt you that much, really, cause you can just put sheds or other buildings on the grassy spots you can't till. Also the most valuable part of it is the hardwood stumps that regrow every day in the western part of the farm. Super easy access to unlimited hardwood is nice. Of course if you decide you don't need it anymore you can put some barns or sheds ontop of where the stumps grow.

The main reason I love the forest farm is the aesthetic of it. It's comfy. When most of your money is made off artisan goods anyway losing out on a a few extra farm plots means very little. A greenhouse full of hops or ancient fruit will outproduce anything I plant outside anyway.

I like money and hate commies and its not enough that i get the maximum amount of money and wealth, other people must suffer purely for my enjoyment as well.

Pierre was already cucked by his wife. She fucked the wizard and Abby isn't actually his. It's kind of funny, but at the same time CA must have a pretty rotten heart to have written that story line.

Yes, but how else are you going to play the claw machine at the cinema?

Thing is, we're not just a farmer. We're a landowner. That instantly puts us in the upper tier of society no matter how far back you go in time. 3000 years ago a man who owned a parcel of land was a citizen of any empire you care to name. Of course, the man who owned the farm was often not the one who actually worked the land. He had tenants, or serfs, or slaves, to do that for him.

The CC/Joja being completed is only 1/3rd of the way through the game. The final 1/3rd unlocks after you get 100 Golden Walnuts and can enter the Qibratory.

Good. I hate MILFhunters so much.

Grind corn into cornmeal -> use cornmeal and some eggs to bread the eggplant -> fry the breaded eggplant -> serve with some marinara

Though honestly hand-grinding the corn is more trouble than it's worth.

First time I played I tried giving a daffodil to Abigail and she hated it and then I started punching myself like Chris Farley

STUPID.... STUPID....

I think when Fields of Mistria is fully complete it'll be better than vanilla Stardew. But nothing tops hyper modded Stardew.

I'm working on it. I plan on moving the barn somewhere else later, probably side by side with the coop, but I already made the mistake of planting fruit trees right next to the greenhouse so I'll have to either cut them down and accept the money waste or wait for them to finish growing.

I'm tired now so tomorrow I will continue and build a pond, then a warehouse. Currently 56 hours in the save file.

All the Best Girls in this game are already taken

Just like IRL

or just grill the corn on the cob and eggplant

I also cut down some trees and planted new ones to the north and west of the big pond in the middle. Things are looking up, bros!

It's a funny theory

Pronouns of Mistria

lol

Might as well suggest Coral Island while you're at it

puree eggplant into a dip, make elotes with the corn and throw it on the floor because you're going to get a joja cola

Isn't there also dialogue that says her hair used to be brown and it changed to purple over time?

Clear a bunch of space around the mushroom tree and more will start to pop up

that map

I cant believe how I never thought about it. Thanks for the insight!

not erecting your own statue in turn

It's like you enjoy being poor.

Fruit trees yield a sapling when you cut them down now as of 1.6. You just have to let them fully grow and then knock 'em down. You can also move the Greenhouse when you finish the Community Center bundle for it.

Don't chop down all your trees. You want an orchard with a bunch of tappers on your oak trees. Oak Resin is one of the most valuable resources in the game and you only get 1 per oak tree per week.

You also want Pine Tar and Maple Syrup for the Community Center, and also for a secret event in the Secret Woods.

traitors?

the mayor runs around collecting business taxes and can't even keep the ONE transport link functional and lets the "valued" community center become run down

too shagging busy actively embezzling money to make golden effigies of himself to do maintain anything

pierre sells you, the ONE farmer in the community, shit at extortionate prices

if you give him good quality produce, he price gouges the community while also taking credit for by saying he grew them

he is also dirty druggy with violent tendencies and a domestic abuser

the whole community is content to do fuck all and watch everything get run down

meanwhile in joja land

actually gives jobs to people

sells stuff at affordable prices for the destitute citizens (thanks to the above)

if you support joja mart, they actively give back to the community by fixing all of the things the mayor neglected

and you're telling me joja are the bad guys?

Her hair was brown originally, but she dyed it purple. She stopped dyeing it a while back and it stayed purple.

It's probably from all the amethyst she eats.

restore the community center

basically nobody cares

makes clint closed on fridays

doesn't "strengthen the community" in any way

had to do it all by yourself

vs

pay Joja not that much to improve the town

they do their job flawlessly overnight

later turns the useless community center into a movie theatre that people will actually visit

and fucks over pierre because fuck him

Joja is just better.

Maru's chocolate snoochy-doo

My headcanon is the wizard is Caroline's dad.

the mayor runs around collecting business taxes and can't even keep the ONE transport link functional and lets the "valued" community center become run down

How much money do you think the few businesses in town make? If he collects 10% tax on Pierre, Clint, Harvey, Willy, and Robin, how much money do you reckon that is in a town of 30 people?

He funds the library with the money, by the way.

too shagging busy actively embezzling money to make golden effigies of himself to do maintain anything

It's revealed in dialogue that he has access to the mines and has been down to the bottom 40 floors before. He says he used to clear out the slimes back in the day but now he's old. With how much gold goes into making the statue, it's clear he's not melting down peoples taxes, he's using the gold from the mines.

pierre sells you, the ONE farmer in the community, shit at extortionate prices

Pierre sells you stuff for cheaper than Joja does.

if you give him good quality produce, he price gouges the community while also taking credit for by saying he grew them

You can buy back your produce from him. He doesn't upcharge much at all. Him taking credit is bullshit, though.

he is also dirty druggy with violent tendencies and a domestic abuser

He's not a druggy, he's a porn addict. You find his porn behind the bookcase. He doesn't inflict violence on anyone besides Morris who started the fight. And no, he doesn't abuse Abigail or Caroline.

the whole community is content to do fuck all and watch everything get run down

The townsfolk are trying to make things better, but there's no local industry until you return. They only get a handful of tourists during the Autumn Festival and Fishing Derbies, but otherwise the only cash income into the community is from Willy selling fish at other ports. The mine shut down after the accident that took George's legs and a lot of people moved away. All that remains is craftsmen and the unemployed.

What's hilarious to me is that there was a poll of R*dditors that showed that more "male" R*dditors wanted to fuck Alex than Maru. Maru wasn't even the 6th most popular character out of 6 available bachelorettes, she lost to a man.

It's on vortex

I found it on patreon, the free release version anyway.

implying a premium paid version exists
that's gay, the quality of said mod isn't even that good to pay for

Go back.

How can I go back to some place I've never visited?

Imo the blowjob scenes are all good and work well with the soundboard while any sex scenes are hilarious because the dev can't draw legs.

Every man of merit knows that there is always cuckoldry beyond cuckoldry. It is not enough to court a man's daughter, or his wife. You need to court his very existence on a fundamental level. Allowing Pierre's business to thrive at the expense of your good name is to submit to the reality that he is your social bull. That he not only gets to profit off of your goods, but that he is also passing them off as his own and getting praised by the rest of the townsfolk, sometimes while you're in the same room literally watching it happen.

Siding with Joja is a rejection of this fantasy. Siding with Joja means you get to cuck him financially. You get to cuck him spiritually. He is faced with the reality that the man who sauntered into their community and fucked his daughter is also fucking his business. He's faced with the reality that, not only is he unable to compete with their prices, but also their quality. Pierre is given the privilege of watching a complete and total stranger steal his life, his daughter, his livelihood, and his role in the community. And there's nothing he can do about it. The only way you could possibly cuck him more is if you were able to fuck his wife, and thankfully there's a mod for that.

I enjoy the sword with the Crusader perk as it kills mummies permanently. Unless that was a 1.6 update change.

move away from the city to get away from Joja niggery

their local representative starts running damage control on a mongolian throat singing discussion board

The only thing that piece of shit corpo is doing right is propping up the failing economy of a dying republic that can't fight for shit. Won't be long until the entire thing becomes worst korea with a better paint scheme and less plastic fantastics running around.

I hard noped away from Maru on my first playthrough
but on my second playthrough I met her at the shop randomly and remembered she existed and decided to blanda upp with her and shred my pixelated genes and create some gorgeous coffee coloured abominations and I don't regret it

The two sisters are so superior that's its not even funny.

I can't keep pumping babies into Haley. Start a new farm, just beeline her romance, and maybe with Emily as a side piece.

I do. She was the last bachelorette I married and I regret bothering. She has 0 personality. Her only trait is that she's smart. Even the goblin guard in front of the Witch's Hut has more personality and he has 3 lines.

My gf and I play this together, and it's ok, but I have some gripes with the game itself. We are currently on year 1 late spring about 30 hours of gametime. She's played for hundreds of hours. This is my first run.

Having a larger farm and having to water daily until we get sprinklers almost made me drop it. Any way of making the plot easier to water when there's a shitload of corn? Even with the border always showing it's difficult for my blind ass.
Fishing is fun
The first of the mines was a good time
would I be able to mod something strickly visual and it work well with the farm we have going already?

Some people feel like that about taking over the family business even if it would give them wealth, respect, and prestige

I wanna see Jas's sprites from development.

She's just a lonely nerd who likes her telescope and wants to make a robot. There are no other dimensions to her. She has more personality than Penny who is a completely vacant absence.

Upgrade your watering can, it will allow you to do charge moves that do more than one space, and you can still move around after charging. Also stop trying to immediately minmax, it will just burn you out on enjoying i.

I don't think Jas and Vincent have any early portraits whatsoever because they were the last main townies added, as per the development blog.

lonely

No she's not. She doesn't even hint at being lonely and has no reason to. She's doted upon by her family, much to the chagrin of Sebastian, and she has Harvey pining for her.

nerd

No she's not. She's just smart. She doesn't have nerdy hobbies like Harvey, Sebastian, Abigail, or Penny.

Penny has an actual personality. She IS lonely and wants to love her mom despite how abusive Pam is. She loves children and gets very upset if you tell her you don't want any. That's why she volunteers her time to teach Jas and Vincent despite not earning squat from it. She hates all alcohol and anything that can be turned into it (like grapes) because of the effect alcohol has had on her mother.

I don't know how you could think Penny is an empty character. Just because she's a nice tradwife doesn't mean she's an empty canvas.

Building robots is definitely a nerdy hobby anon

3rd rev proto Penny

3rd rev proto Leah

1st proto Emily

4th rev Maru

That fucking purple haze/hue is off-putting on Maru.

4th or 6th rev Haley

1st or 9th rev Abigail

I also tried to get close to Maru on my first play-through, but Demetrius' black dad moment ended that relationship pretty hard, and I've ignored her every play through afterward.

year 1 late spring

shitload of corn

This isn't adding up.

It's a chinese game.

Late Spring

Corn

You mean Summer?

And yeah, you can upgrade your watering cans with 5 Copper Bars and 2000g at Clint's. In single player you have to wait for a rainy day or else you'll miss out on watering crops for a day. In multiplayer one of you can bite the bullet and water the crops while the other is upgrading.

would I be able to mod something strickly visual and it work well with the farm we have going already?

Yes. The only mod I use is a portrait mod and it works in multiplayer.

Demetrius is a reddit nerd bitch who happens to have black skin

Demetrius bullies Sebastian for being white being his stepson.

year 2 then we are about to do the easter event the second time.

last summer she bought a bunch corn and it was a pain in my dick to see if I watered the plot or not

GIMME DEM STRAWBERRIES NIGGA
WHERE DEM BATTERIES AT

Yeah, I recommend upgrading your watering cans. Copper waters 3 plots in a row. Iron 5 plots. Gold waters a 3x3 grid in front of you. You need to delve into the mines for the ore, though, unless you're playing on the Hilltop Farm or get lucky while fishing.

Don't forget the rock quarry past the broken bridge in the mountains

Corn isn't available in spring, it's available in summer. Unless you're playing with mods or something. And if you're running into a situation where you're spending all your energy and time watering plants in spring year 1 you're probably over-planting and should scale things back a bit. You need time to explore the mines and get as deep as you can there, because the biggest time saver in this game is unlocking sprinklers.

To get sprinklers you first need to power level your farming skill to get the crafting recipe, and then you need to delve the mines to get the materials to build them. You can do the former just by spamming like 20-30 parsnips at a time. They grow in 4 days and the seeds are dirt cheap. But since it sounds like you have been over-planting your farming skill is probably high enough to have unlocked at least basic sprinklers already. Quality sprinklers is farming level 6. The next thing you need after unlocking sprinklers' recipe is to reach the level of the mines where you can find iron, which is the ice floors, levels 41-69. Any rainy day you get, any day you still have decent energy left, hit the mines and push hard. Every 5 levels you unlock an elevator checkpoint. Keep pushing.

Sprinklers are such a game changer. No more watering.

Year 2

still don't have sprinklers

Are you sure your gf has played this for hundreds of hours?

No way he has that unlocked if he's still watering by hand in year 2.

Jojomart doesn't close on a fucking WEDNESDAY and doesn't have hurdles to stop that from happening

Wow, I felt bad for Pierre because the beginning of the game makes him look like an honest family man trying to make a living in his shop and resisting globohomo. I'm dumb and didn't realize that when you talk to the villagers and they mention buying a quality product at his shop that he himself supposedly farmed, it's actually stuff that you farmed and sold to him.

What a scummy liar. He deserves to be cucked.

eh. looks like a janky first time player farm.

my only gripe is the pet bowl is a pita to get to. move that thing closer to your house asap

Honestly you should just restart and read some guides and tips or something.

I'm impressed he stuck with it for a full year. I realized my first far was janked beyond repair before I made it through summer of my first time playing the game, and started over.

But there's nothing wrong with what you described, that's how honest small shops operate

also allows you to buy autopetters which is probably the single largest QoL you can get for your farm after sprinklers and autograbbers

I aimed for her straight away but dropped her the second I saw how bitchy Hailey was. I probably would've still gone for maru if they kept her original design though.

it's not a public multiplayer game
it's really for couples, you need to invite someone specific

This is a busywork simulator the likes of which Stardew Valley could not hope to match, but that gets a lot better once you start really churning out zombies and take the time to optimize your production areas for zombie-based capitalism. I, for one, really enjoyed my time with Graveyard Keeper but that's how I know most people I would be in a position to recommend it to would not.

I'll play with you on switch if you want anon but we can't marry each other..... unless you want to or something.... >//Anon Babble//>

dropped her the second I saw how bitchy Hailey was

not taming her with the power of dick and making her into a good housewife

Ngmi

The instant I saw Haley every other girl disappeared for me. Pic related, me on the left.

quartz is so weird, half the town likes it and half dislike it. It is literally neutral to nobody and I think it's the only non-'universal' gift like that

No way I'm gonna restart 56 hours in. And I'm fine with the layout being janky, it gives me something to look forward to when I start fixing it later. I don't wanna minmax.

That's a good attitude to have. It's just bizarre how you got through a whole in game year with so little progress.

Minmaxing is something you do after you've started your 6th farm after telling yourself you wouldn't pick up SDV again. You just naturally get drawn to it after swearing you're not going to do it.

thats fine. but move the damn pet bowl

Remember, Abigail actually has the fattest tits + ass in SDV

I have this game. Installed even. And I've never really played it. How good is it actually? Sounds like animal crossing kind of

You can choose how difficult it is. If you want to minmax, the game gets pretty in the weeds. If you just want to relax, there's no actual time limit preventing you from doing what you want.

And yes, it's a great game. Farming is only a fraction of the game's content.

KsD05[1].png - 911x365, 332.57K

If you're autistic about not getting the best rewards after the end of the first three years and the idea of tossing a diamond at it to just reroll your endgame evaluation makes that autism flare up, don't play it. That's the only thing that could actually murder the game for you.

its the ancestor of every comfy game made since 2016, and concernedape himself gives codes away every now and then here

alright fuck it I'm loading it up now.

It's way less of a chore than animal crossing. There's a timer for each day, plus stamina to manage, but there's no getting locked out of things. You progress at your own pace and do what you like. No real wrong way to do things. Some people sink hundreds of hours into this game without ever trying some of its content.

what should I focus on at first? first farming game period actually

It’s way less of a chore than animal crossing.

What are you smoking?

The game eases you into content. You have a stamina bar that limits what you can do early on. The work of clearing a small patch of land and then planting and watering your 15 parsnips you start with will eat up a chunk of that stamina. You can choose to spend the rest of it clearing more trees and stones to widen your arable land, or just head off for town and start meeting people (which the game prompts you to do with a little journal entry anyway. Don't stress about these "quests" the ones the game throws at you automatically have no time limit).

Animal crossing literally has dailies and your community goes to shit if you don't boot up the game on a regular basis. It's a second job.

I need a good farm name lmao

The Joja Route should unlock a super-secret neetgirl route who only appears in the Joja Mart to buy Google Pay cards and energy drinks. no one knows where she lives
*she lives in the dungeon. it's such a filthy pigstye it became a dungeon

there's myriad guides and such

personally, on day 1 i plant my parsnips, water em, clear out a path to the north and south exits of the farm, then do a lap around all the zones to find forage items (wild plants)

Ram Ranch
