MORROWIND TAMRIEL REBUILT UPDATE HYPE

Are you playing it? How is it so far?

When will they do Almalexia?

it's the last thing they'll do so probably in like 2033

make new character

back to fighting to the death with rats

really considering raising my skills with cheats

N9.png - 311x326, 56.84K

thats no fun

no?

The Skyrim HOTN MUSE is gone.

Texas?

Kept lurking the TR threads

spent the whole day setting up a new load order

As all things feel right in this world

detroit

what happens on the new islands

what's the point, you sart snowballing so fast

New spell effects including teleportation

Fucking cool.

Also found some neat stuff up north.

ive only played the vanilla game+dlcs and am tempted to try this out but when are you supposed to interact with the mod content? do you just go there at the beginning or do you do some of or all of the main questline first? im also curious about what level the content there is balanced around as ive always had issues where i end up just steamrolling everything at a certain point in the vanilla game.

You can go to the TR content right away if you want

scipo never made a muse pack for skyrim though

I've never played any any elder scrolls but i've installed morrowind, openmw and the expanded vanilla modpack with TR. Jump in 100% blind?

talking about the expanded pack.. whats the recommended system req?

not high

lol good luck

What the big draw of MGE XE? What exactly are the big TR integrations to it?

I'm going to go oit on a limb here and assume the mwse stuff is spell related

I would do i heart vanilla director's cut. Last time I tried extended they had a mod that moved one of the early noob dungeons that's supposed to be stupid easy to find to some super bullshit location

I was semi-correct

Recently we have also started including new magic effects and weathers using the Morrowind Script Extender -- since these are not yet possible to implement in OpenMW, we for now offer seamless fallbacks to vanilla-like content for OpenMW

faction integration yes or no?

thanks

sounds like a chad move

good question but i've got 32 gigs of ram and 24gb vram and morrowind is a game from the mid 2000s so

Yep have at it anon it's great going back & seeing just how much has changed since arena/daggerfall & oblivion

tried playing through the PS3 version of oblivion but my console died on me

Get used to reading quests and make sure you talk to people to exhaust dialogue which will sometimes fill your journal with important/useful entries. You can hit J and go to the options tab to look up older topics.
You can double click your local map to leave a note for later (Left loot behind) etc.
If you get a lot of magic/scrolls the bottom of your spells list has a search function so you can easily look up "fire" and see all your fire spells.

New spells, new summons, some goodies mostly. It's more than MWSE itself has a lot of cool other mods that are seamless.

I'm waiting for my groundcover mods to update. Can't wait to see Narsis

Not even Skyrim? Wow

Make sure to read a the journal, and good luck. Also avoid metagaming for your first playthrough.

he doesn't enjoy early game fisticuffs with crabs

Do you even enjoy Morrowind?
Seriously though, this was a nice reset. I was afraid of giving into "restart-itis" but I realized my last character(only level 11!) was an 80 hour mega mod test and held together with bubblegum and dreams. Time to actually play the game and experience it less schizophrenically

not even skyrim

What is it?

For the love of god do not just use the iron dagger you get at the beginning if you don’t have any skill with short blades.
Please buy a real weapon from the store they are cheap and will make you not want to kill yourself due to hit rate.

I'm pretty sure I've just been sent on a quest to go see some titties.

Classic Sanguine

Don't give up on Morrowind early on. For some people (such as me) it takes a bit of time to get used to its mechanics, specially the combat system.

This time I started as a mage and was able to kill everything in the early game with the firebite touch spell.

Did they change MGE at some point because I remember it adding like HL2 Cinematic Mod levels of ferns and grass all over the place but now it just seems like it renders distant land while leaving all the grafix vanilla.

MGE never did that. You have to install a grass mod to have grass.

ngl man I started a new game and was immediately hit with that gut wrenching sense of "wow, this actually sucks" upon encountering the horrifically shitty gameplay and movement speed

yeah I played morrowind hundreds of hours back in the day, but I can't get over this

the horrible base movement speed and the run key draining your energy is so fucking bad

Install the fatigue and speed and carryweight rebalance mod.

I think I need more cool-off time from my latest hyper-modded skyrim playthrough. Its too fresh in my mind and so the morrowind jank is just incredibly irritating.

yeah Im going to mod it up a bit and probably also do something to make a semi-leveled starting character, because I am SICK as fuck of the balmora start.

From one being literal sex to 10 meeting god in person I'd say it's a 12
I really like how it insists on itself

A lot of TR stuff is aimed towards lower level characters, especially around Old Ebonheart. Might be worth a change of scenery for your starter location. Or hell, go to Cyrodiil, I think that's what I'm going to do once I get some capital together to buy Stormrider.

Sadly no tits but I did have to give up a shitload of ancient Dagoth brandy in exchange for an orgy.

Trainwiz

Didn't expect you here, trainlord.

trainlord.jpg - 1280x720, 92.18K

Dewit. Gonna be funny either way.

that smug ass smile

That is a Prince that has seen your cock and balls

I did participate in an ancient dagoth brandy fueled orgy, so I assume he's seen my White Poled Tower

Is there something resembling a low level quest path in TR?

Most of the stuff in central Vvardenfell, on both banks of the river, is doable for lower levels. Start in Old Ebonheart.

I'm new to this
How is the progression like compared to the base game

More open ended which is saying something. Start questing in Old Ebonheart and work your way from there

Fairly similar to Morrowind. You'll stumble upon a god tier artifact at some point and it'll carry you.

its full of npc mods shit tanks my fps

Anyone ripped models from Oblivion to slap them into Skyrim yet? Or added stuff from Skyrim into Oblivion?

You're thinking of MGSO

Alright, got everything set up how I want it, installed PC, updated TD and TR, switched over to MGE, tweaked the graphical settings to perfection, downloaded a grab bag of MWSE reliant mods.
Yup, I'm thinkin' it's time to put Morrowind on the backburner and forget to play it until the next big TR update where I need to do all this tedious bullshit again so I decide to play it "tomorrow" and the cycle repeat.

You mentioned last thread you had worked with Bethesda on a thing that would have explored Reman's failed industrial revolution. Can you talk about that or is it under NDA?

It's not under NDA. I pitched it and there was steam behind it (no pun intended) but it was dropped given the amount of workload it would have taken to make it (considering it was a full on DLC sized thing instead of just a dungeon pack).

But the basic idea is that Reman uplifted and founded a cabal of industrialist mages (their working name was the Diolkos, after the earliest known railroad) from tanners, dyers, tallowmakers, butchers, etc. Real practical workmen types who had been given a shitload of political power, education, but hadn't lost the kind of perspective that saw the abattoir as the peak of production. Over the years they'd pioneer a lot of magic that was entirely based around mass production, and almost always based in mutating flesh magic. As Reman's empire became more decadent and hedonistic, they were at the forefront of it until, inevitably, their own experiments and mass produced horrors just got WAY too out of hand. Think something where Upton Sinclar's signature part of the Jungle was the point (because all that maiming and viscera fuels the flesh tendons of the great drive belts of their foundries) rather than a consequence. Think hundreds of flame atronachs strapped in and their natural heat used to boil steam engines, preserved khajiit brains running massive looms, political prisoners getting jailed and their wives being turned into cabooses. All the while these mad, increasingly mutated and deranged mage-engineers singing the emperor's praises like a god.

By the end of it they were little more wire figures drapped in rotting meat with their various organs suspended around them in baubles, and they managed to piss off just about every single other faction on the planet (daedric or not) that the citizenry, guilds, and basically everything made a point to revolt and scrub records of them from existence, with only their least disgusting inventions kept around, origins forgotten.

So freaky biopunk corpse engineers.

I don't want to hear anther disparaging word about GODD Howard if he looked at Reman Cyrodiil Flesh Mall and said "fuck yeah".

So is there a pack with all the new land mods including what just released to get me started, bros
Sorry I'm retarded

Drag and drop Tamriel Data

Drag and drop Tamriel Rebuilt

Drag and drop Project Cyrodiil

Drag and drop Skyrim Home of the Nords

Voila, your pack.

Bethesda's weird about what they would and wouldn't allow. They were a lot more blood magic focused in the original pitch and when I got it back it was like "We love this but lose the blood magic angle, that's not lore friendly"

2025

everything is on Nexus now

you don't need to sort through personal sites, modding sites, and tumblr blogs anymore

you don't need to deal with finding alternative download sources for mods from dead links

programs like Mod Organizer 2 just install your mods for you so you don't have to even unzip things anymore

people still can't figure it out

No wonder the Morag Tong killed Reman and his descendants. He tried to turn Tamriel into Rimworld.

Note to the modding community: We should make the Diolkos a thing if Beth won't. Super creepy meatheads are cool.

that's because younger zoomers and zoomlets grew up with touchscreens, not keyboards

I gave up on it the first time I played but now I'm sticking with it. Goddamn it's the best game I played in a while, immersive as shit when I'm not fistfighting a rat to cheese a couple levels

Go to the theater in Narsis

Random quest where the lead actor is getting haunted by a ghost

because I'm in the temple and joined the ranks of the speakers I can actually help the spirit move on from his grudge

I am fucking speechless, I never would've guessed that actually being in a faction with these types of powers would actually influence future quests that have no relation to it, I legitimately s-yed out, and I'm still freaking out about it, absolute fuckin KINOOOO

I know the guys that took over Wheels of Lull wanted to add a quest where you find a wailway engine and help him kill himself, but that's about it. One of the things that was also planned was taking the old plans for Jigglebag's robots and adapting them as their common footsoldiers, so you'd get intricately carved clockwork robots that had various organs in glass planted throughout them that'd run after you while constantly crying in agony. Big organs in jar guys, honestly.

The entire Sanguine area is set up like a dungeon but if you're part of the Morag Tong they're nonhostile and it's actually a retirement home for their best assassins.

you don't need to sort through personal sites, modding sites, and tumblr blogs anymore

A few morrowind mods still do, like Emma's (and Julan)

you don't need to deal with finding alternative download sources for mods from dead links

Yeah fucking right, good luck finding shit that was on MMH but didn't get saved in the Wayback Machine (not common but definitely still an issue)
Still, I would never want to go back to those dark days

ALL HAIL GLORIOUS MODDER TRAINWIZ

Oddly fitting for a Sanguine Quest

still can't join house Indoril

Yawn.

Yeah, it was a cool area, and right next to a dreugh city too.

swift swim

I always forget this silly spell exists when you can just levitate through water super fast.

I figured the Muatra would be more overpowered, maybe the one they have on display is a fake one

Originally it was in the bottom of Necrom powering the Ghostfence.

I haven't seen that room before, I should explore more...

Was thinking of finding a modpack for TR myself

look up expanded banilla

412 mods

What the fuck do they even have there, why do you even need this many mods on openMW to boot? 50 mods to change limeware platter price or something? I remember installing morrowind sharp and felt just enough and still a bit too tedious, can't imagine doing this shit unironically.

It's reallllly out of the way, I'm also not sure if there's even a way to get into the room with Muatra and other stuff without the console

I built my own mod list and even after adding every quest/dungeon mod I could possibly want I only had 81 mods. I think it's a bloated list and will probably trim it down. I can't imagine having over 400 mods for fucking morrowind. And then calling that "vanilla", what? the hell counts as non-vanilla then, Starwind?

NPCs in Vvardenfell had simple errand quests added to them to make you go to the mainland. The Khajit in the Balmora mage's guild for example.

Other than that, most quest content is limited to the actual area you get them in. I think there are no or hardly any big Morrowing spanning quests. Or quests that in any way relate to Vvardenfell.

There's a plugin that adds keys for it.

I think it's best if you go there at the beginning. I used this mod
nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/50445
so if you go to the first dungeon outside Seyda Neen as usual, then follow this quest naturally, you basically head straight for the new lands and wind up in Old Ebonheart which has tons of quests you can do.

not sure if there's any new hooks that go straight toward the new lands they added in this update.

Or quests that in any way relate to Vvardenfell.

There's an (optional? i forget) component for the main quest, where becoming Telvanni Hortator involves going to the mainland and not just Vvardenfell. There's also a main quest epilogue. I think that's it.

most quest content is limited to the actual area you get them in

I do wish they had some big quests that cross regions, maybe it's counter to their development structure.

I just got a quest in Narsis that requires me to deliver some remains to the ghostfence, so there are some cross region quests

eh
