Are zoomers correct about the direction Minecraft should go in?
Are zoomers correct about the direction Minecraft should go in?
what the fuck happened to this game? when i used to to play the 360 version back in 2013 the only thing i was worried about was how much cool shit i could build in creative. why is everyone who plays this game such a tryhard? just play it however you want to, who gives a fuck?
I don't like my items falling into the lava and disappearing forever.
Brown bricks
Without stakes Minecraft is pointless. Play however you want, but my experience is that the best part of minecraft is the white-knuckle blitz back to your dropped gear after making a stupid mistake.
If I were going to rebalance it, I’d do what gravestone mods do (the items don’t despawn over time, instead dying a second time overwrites your lost items so you have to be careful) but how it is is fine.
I unironically stopped playing Minecraft because of the limited inventory system, backpack update when?
Now, actually. They just recently added bundles (mixed stacks in a single inventory slot) which helps a lot.
riding horse through area
floating grass
plummet through a crevice and land in lava, instantly die, lose all my shit
Pass
I was playing on a survival server that wasn't massive but it had enough players that there werent any elytras for thousands of blocks out in the end. I died from a failed elytra landing and lost all my god armor, tools, elytra, etc a couple thousand blocks from spawn and I haven't rejoined the server since despite contributing a lot to the spawn builds, and having a pretty big base.
Death penalties in survival crafting games are always cancer
Either make it permadeath or keep it all when you respawn.
Everything else is just wasting your time.
Nothing is more miserable than going back to where you died with no gear on, then dying again because you have no gear this time
What is the point of Minecraft?
lol really? might reinstall I’ve been getting the building itch lately
That Rapunzel Tangeled movie really spawned an iconic frame
You don't even know what the word iconic means.
Honestly if I hosted my own server instead of playing on my friend's I would turn keep inventory on. Also I would remove the Enderman pickup function. And yes, if I accidentally break a single piece of glass or glowstone, I would just /give it back.
I understand "the stakes", but once you're out of early game and nothing is dangerous anymore, it's just meaningless tedium. At that point the only time you die is due to annoying shit like elytra angle being bugged or forgetting you took your gear off to socialize. Plus normally you'd always have a totem in off-hand anyway. After multiple months of playing I want to focus on building cool shit, not deal with the barebones sluggish survival mechanics. Even back in beta, people who liked 1.7.3 more were right.
It’s called a meme, you twitter tranny tourist
skill issue
Just play VintageStory
Suck my nuts
Buy an ad, tranny
Losing inventory is such a trivial issue. The biggest problem Minecraft has is that it feels so lifeless and dead. Yeah you have some pillagers and villagers and animals, but that's not enough. Human player(s) is the only entity in the game creating anything meaningful, and even then the player has to roleplay and use imagination for it to make sense. So, you've built a detailed medieval village with well thought out roads and planned building positions... so fucking what?
The game will not recognize any kind of organized community or society, there's not going to be peasants and knights roaming around, no king, no people getting drunk in tavern and adventurers going on adventures.
It should've stayed on Notch's original plan of making it more like Dwarf Fortress than just block builder. It's fun to build, for sure, but after you've done with your creation you're left with this feeling of emptiness because you've just built something really cool, but in the end it's just virtual lego set even though it being virtual should mean anything is possible. But not everything is possible, especially not having your city or castle function the way it does in your head.
thats a long ass post just to say you have no friends
I will, when it's feature complete
You just outed yourself as a phone poster if you think that's a long post. And a homo.
There was no way it was ever going to become Dwarf Fortress as cool as that would be to have.
i like how you didnt deny having no friends
This is so stupid, it would incentivize just committing suicide all the fucking time
Well I ain't getting friendly with you, fancy boy.
Not interested in this slop unless he puts it on steam cause I don't care to jump through hoops to play multiplayer
The thing is that modern Minecraft isn't like old Minecraft.
Think about what you lost when dying like over a decade by now - you just lost materials and blocks you had on you alongside your gear, gear that took just few ingots to craft.
Everything you had was easily replaceable and expendable and you'd be stockpiling these materials in your base.
Lost entire diamond set? I guess I'll just craft a new one.
Lost materials? I guess I'll go mine for more.
Both durability and losing stuff on death were minor setbacks and gave you reasons to mine more, but everything you lost could be regained in minutes. When something broke you could also just craft a new tool.
Now you have some extremely rare uncraftable bullshit rarely dropping from already rare specific mobs and enchanting, losing anything isn't just a simple case of crafting or mining again to get it back, now there's plenty of grinds and RNG systems that take a long time.
Both the durability and and loot drop were fitting for 2011 mechanics but they're just silly with how much bloat the current game has.
I quit because I didnt realize items were on a 5 min timer. thought that was retarded. should stay there forever or much longer unless you die again or something
Yeah because Minecraft as it is is fucking dogshit. The game GOES OUT OF ITS WAY to fuck the player over. You can't pause the game (even in single player), it disabled manual saves, you can't turn off auto-saves, and if you try to exit without saving, the game will 95% of the time corrupt your save. Fuck Minecraft.
Now you have some extremely rare uncraftable bullshit rarely dropping from already rare specific mobs and enchanting
It's more like
You just died and lost an entire play session worth of gear, and if you don't know how to get back to where you just died, you're gonna have to dedicate at minimum an entire separate play session (unless you're at the absolute endgame with autism tier item/exp farms) to recraft and reenchant everything.
AIslopper is retarded
Sasuga
Point out where I'm wrong, dipfuck shiteater. Everything I said in the post is a verifiable fact.
actually riding a horse in Minecraft
kek
you don't know how to get back to where you just died
Is it that hard to recall information or even take precautions to retain information like landmarks or even risk mitigation by not doing stupid shit like that
can you present me to penny? comeon gadget be a friend, ill even explain you how to build brown bricks in minecrap
The thing about Minecraft is that you're gonna be building something and if you die and can't get your items back that's anywhere from a few minutes to days of grinding just to get back to where you were depending on your loot.
If that's what you're looking for, then I'm sure there are mods out there to suit your needs.
You always could pause the game and somehow I never had my save corrupted even when force quitting.
I'm sorry whatever PC your brownskin money can afford causes you issues.
items in hotbar should be kept when you die, inventory and one random equipped armor piece should be dropped
the fact that keep inventory is an option in the game in the first place
speaks more about the game's design, if this option was removed out of nowhere by Mojang it speaks
on what the game is about, but also cause a lot of people who casually played the game
to be extremely vocal, but I like how that person speaks on how grindy and boring the RPG systems are in Minecraft.
Minecraft is already that poster child for "casual gaming" so most of this
will be met with apathy, if base Minecraft (not hardcore) was made harder like introducing
a debuff that applied Curse of Vanishing to your entire inventory,
a permanent debuff after death, or something difficult to deal with that is out of the way,
people will probably lose their shit.
You always could pause the game
Only on Java, not Bedrock. And again, the save corruption is a Bedrock problem because Java lets you save whenever you want and lets you disable autosaves.
Why would anyone give a fuck
This is just a “you control the buttons you press” situation again and with Minecraft of all games who actually cares the point of that game is to do whatever YOU want to do
Permadeath builds character.
They need that Diablo 2 hardcore experience.
This is a better survival game but minecraft's audience nowadays consist of tryhard competitive multiplayer spergs
In a game with shit like Enchanted Netherite where the endgame is turbo enchanting your shit, llosing your hours of grind at a weird death is genuinely stupid
Drop on dead is a leftover from where the player was weaker and items were expendable.
None of it matters because you can cheese the whole game under 1 hour
I sort of agree, there just needs to at least be some reason not to kill yourself at the slightest inconvenience.
one chunk away from my base? I'll just die to get there faster
it'll take a minute to get out of this mineshaft, I might as well just jump in lava
build a railway? why bother when I can teleport for free with any bed
This would be so dumb.
Nothing is more miserable than going back to where you died with no gear on, then dying again because you have no gear this time
This is how Valheim creates unimaginably bleak scenarios. I think I've done a few too many corpse runs and that's a huge reason why I lost the drive to continue playing. You don't even realize that's happening but subconsciously you have grown to hate the game. Like it has betrayed you and you tell yourself you can get over it but really the game is dead to you now.
Personally my inbetween is one of those mods that shoves your shit to a gravestone or a chest right where you die, same punishment but now you don't have to worry about wether or not your shit will despawn faster than you can get it. and also you don't have to rush back there like a retard.
using a horse in new territory is asking to die, dont use it when you dont know where the drop are
Yeah that's reasonable, showing up right as your shit disappears feels awful.
This is the problem with using the generational term zoomer when referring to vidya. Zoomers were playing Minecraft from Day 1. They're what made Minecraft famous, the earliest Zoomers were prime Minecraft player material back then.
Remove beds. If you die you respawn all the way back at your starting chunk.
This is how Valheim creates unimaginably bleak scenarios.
Not to mention the literal dozens of hours of playtime you can lose with skill level loss on death. I just disabled losing items and levels on death because that's complete bullshit.
Maybe nerfing you? Make it so you lose the XP on death and get a "morning pain" debuff that fucks up your hunger bar, attack damage, defenses and maybe even makes you burn more weapon durability for a couple minutes. That and also giving a good kick on the balls at the durability of anything you had equiped on death.
Items dropping on death is a mechanic that was added just to give the game some artificial difficulty.
well how do you make the game more difficult but fun?
The only way I ever die is by some extreme shit like falling into lava or being caught by multiple creepers, I cannever get my items back from that. If I die and lost some gear and items, I just leave it there and start over at my base.
I guess that would solve part of the issue but nothing stops people from setting up their base at the start. Most people don't travel very far before picking a base location to begin with.
It's tricky due to Minecraft's current direction. You'd have to rework combat entirely. In the current game fighting shit is annoying, not engaging. The fun comes from exploring and there difficutly is self imposed based on how stupid you are regarding how you explore.
the solution is to get rid of beds and make dying respawn you where you died.
the sandbox meme singlehandedly killed voxel games
vintage story is really shit once you realize how undeveloped the tech advancement is and how unthreatening and unscary the game is.
That’s not what artificial difficulty is
Millenaire fixed this problem by adding cultural themed villages that progressively build and upgrade their villages and you can help them to get reputation and they'll build you a house and have wars with other villages but that mod was abandoned years ago.
telling zoomers who die in MINECRAFT to play VS
lmao, they're too retarded for that
Just to confirm, these retards are never releasing on steam or gog, right? It's just gonna be their shitty website forever?
When it gets a Steam or GoG release, sure. Until then, never ever.
They don't want gayben to steal their money
If you think such systems are even remotely feasible in fully proc gen 3D map, you're actually fucking retarded. More importantly, if you want that experience, multiplayer exists.
The reason for losing your items and XP upon death is to provide incentive to be careful and think about what you're doing because there's a real risk involved with danger. I don't care if you play with keepinv but don't act like you're playing the game properly when it fundamentally changes the way you play.
*installs gravestone mod*
Problem fixed
Zoomers are lazy niggers
Retard. You should have built a tank
Why are people like this so averse to playing creative mode? Survival mode has already been made completely trivial because people like this refuse to play the mode that existed from the start that was made specifically for them.
admitting to be a consolechild that only built shit in creative
might as well end yourself right now
No idea why Mojang didn't just make Netherite tools have infinite durability. That'd make them meaningfully different from diamond and actually worth pursuing, plus it cuts back on how mandatory Mending is right now.
thanks for proving my point kek
Congratulations, you made a memory in a video game for the low, low price of worthless pixels that you probably had more of back at your base.
I don't know what the fuck it is with people demanding that they never, ever feel inconvenienced by a video game. Virtually all of the corners have been sanded down in Minecraft already; it's honestly shocking that losing items on death. There need to be some stakes, as said. The game would fundamentally break down if you removed item loss on death, because all the tension of exploration would vanish in an instant. It would be the effect of being able to sleep through the night, multiplied throughout the entire game.
that losing items on death is still in the game*
Do you mean "basically Millennial" zoomers in their 30s? or basically Alphie zoomers that are fresh out of high school?
what the fuck happened to this game?
literal whos making crazy twitch money from doing MLG pro plays in a casual building game.
if you want to play creative just play creative
playing nu-Minecraft
you deserve to lose all your shit honestly
because of the limited inventory system
why do you even need to carry that much shit?
you just need a tool or two, a weapon, torches, a stack of blocks, stack of food and bucket of water.
anything else is too much shit
Minecraft was popping off when zoomers were in diapers.
Ask Chat-GPT what direction Minecraft should go if you want their opinion.
I love Minecraft, whether it's the 1.7.3 beta, base Xbox 360 or PsVita edition, or 1.21. I love this game.
Thanks Notch.
it took the worst parts of shit modpacks like TFC and Gregtech and somehow made them worse.
QUIT_HAVING_FUN.jpg
Feather falling, fire res pots, they even give the uber babby casuals fucking shields and knockback resistance lava unburnable armor and they still manage to fail with it. Had they not done these pocket spaghetti's a favor by taking away craftable enchanted gapples the embarrassment of actually dying would be too much for any "hardcore" player to bear.
Video Games need adversity and stakes. I am not there for some gay story or theme park ride or hand holding.
