What build are you running?
Oblivion Remaster
Oblivion for me is the game of Two Handed + Magic crusader. Love being able to use magic without unequipping my sword
I never go Bow either but its been a nice secondary playstyle for me in this game. It feels decent where as in Skyrim and og Oblivion it feels meh.
I can't believe how unabashedly soulless and dogshit the demaster is so far. The title screen is ubisoft-tier with a big DELUXE EDITION AVAILABLE right on the otherwise blank background. Just a fucking unbelievable drop in quality from the original.
Having said that, I'll be playing what I always do: unarmored two-handed sword mage.
stealth archer
Uninstall wizard
sword
Kek
battlemage
Summon big titty Flame lady
Shield Reflects magic
Sword absorbs magika
Dont have to have my magic equipped to a hand
Has dedicated spell casting button
Is oblivion better than skyrim?
restoration magic user
i tried to play as a battle mage but got incredibly bored of the combat and having to make potions. so im playing as a stealth archer.
I don't have a specific build but I wear light armour and use daggers with my rings and necklace having speed buffs so I can move around really quickly
The build with max sneak and max blade and a daedric dagger, but still can't kill someone with a sneak attack because the health pools in this game are fucking gargantuan
I'm really hoping the demaster fixes that, but if it doesn't the first thing I'm doing is making the ol' Weakness to Magicka 100% + Drain HP 100pts Sword. Kills anything in the game in about five swings regardless.
A spellsword/battlemage, like every Oblivion playthrough, ever, by everyone.
This game doesn't really have classes, just like in Skyrim you do everything and usually end up as one thing; a spellsword/battlemage, or a stealth archer, respectively.
go to battlehorn
kill like 2 marauders
suddenly I own a castle
wut
What was the old trick to keep dungeons from clearing? You had to like, leave one chest unlooted or one enemy alive or some shit.
That first long ass dungeon into KotN was a treasure trove of jinkblades and other shit
I'm very unique I play Breton battlemage with the Mundane Ring
decided to mod the game a little for visual and performance stuff but wanted to do a vanilla leveling to experience true obvlivion jank again. Took the star path that lets me absorb magic because its op af. Building a thief to do the thieves guild, dunno if i want to do the dark brotherhood or not but i remember really liking it back in 2006. Im playing a stealth archer meme but its hard to pass up on how much damage its doing, just finished saving kvatch. I have not leveled up once yet, dont know when a good time to do so would be but all my skills are getting pretty high. Maybe ill stay lvl one for a bit more. I hear the sweet spot levels are 8.17 and 20
stealth archer with some sword and board + magic
how do you heal enemies to death
it's extremely painful
i dont know, i just do everything
Assassin build, no shield, no magic, no archery, alchemy allowed. Just finished the Arena and now I'm screwing around in Skingrad with Glarthir.
Going to remake my sneak/illusion pacifist named Greg
Absorb health
build
since classes stats and skills dont matter, its suddenly just like skyrim, you can do everything eventually. boring.
can you really not one shot with a daedric dagger on adept difficulty with x8?
Not playing on master? You're pathetic.

Wood Elf with One-Handed Sword
playing on master is a retarded waste of time. Its simultaneously too easy, and just extends how long everything takes to do. You either exploit the game to render it trivial, or spend 20 years fighting each individual enemy.
i tried to make a beastmaster class with illusion back in the day but didnt go well
need a mod that makes it similar to conjuration but with animal spawns
Every time I see a little bosmer I wish I rolled one. probably the most sovlful race
The kino build for a kino game.
I got pretty far on Master, rerolled a new char on Expert. I'm not using armor so far, to keep the enemy damage up. Might end up just not specc'ing in endurance.
Having wayyy more fun than my Master playthrough. Enemies will fuck me up if I don't know how to counter them but the fights aren't cartoonishly obnoxious.
you can freely swap difficulty. Honestly how difficulty should be used is if enemies are starting to become far too easy, you just tick it up one tier so you can enjoy playing the game again.
sounds like something greg would approve of
sneak, bow, blink. literally nothing else is required
they reset after like 30 days or some shit
Build? I max out everything and do everything on my first character in this series.
yup I know, I rerolled him for a different reason but thank you. I'm not against swapping difficulty, but once I allow myself to get too liberal with the difficulty it diminishes my enjoyment of the game. Partially just me being obsessive. Always been the type of person who makes a bunch of arbitrary rules I have to follow for video games lol
also I guess my screenshots look like this with HDR on
see a weird ass tower on a mountain
check it out
I now own it
???
Build?
everything
Imperial. My class is mage but I can’t remember if my sign is the mage or the lady.
Right now daggers + destruction
But I just picked up a silver axe and now im considering restarting for blunt
Blunt has like no uniques, while blades gets everything
Meh
Been using Sword+Board with Touch spells as a Spellsword. Decided to do the Knights of the Nine and now I'm wacking people with a mace just for a change of pace. Soul Trap/Umbra + Asura's Star has made this tolerable, but the boots constantly break from the crusader's set, tempted to switch to full Daedric.
The speedrun refund build. I play for 2 hours and realize the remake is shit despite my hopes and then press the refund button
he bought it
lol?
he plays it
lmao
Skyrim has a spell button too and it's called shouts
heavy armor, blade, restoration
Do I just get the deluxe upgrade?
The weapons look pretty nice
ended up having to kill the guy and now i get to sell everything in his house lol
You made the right choice
The Tower
Willpower/Personality
Acrobatics
Alchemy
Alteration
Blade
Illusion
Mysticism
Speechcraft
jedi build has been my favorite way to play games lately
If you bother with weakness stacking autism on spells or weapon enchants master mode is really not that bad. Put up with it until mundane ring, amulet of axes start dropping and 25+ escutcheon of chorrol and the difficulty is more or less negated anyway
Give me the most interesting thing about Elder Scrolls lore. Aren’t the stars we see actually holes in the sky?
Give me the most interesting thing about Elder Scrolls lore
It's all bullshit
can i transplant my pirated save to steam with no issue?
dagger power attacks
shortsword forward power attack
war axe standing power attack
This is pretty much whats making it hard to decide between weapons for me
I like the stabs in the dagger moveset too
default rogue. it's going pretty great. light armor being so fabergé early on let me level my armorer quick, and i'm slowly trudging through the bruma allies quest now.
Breaking the game with customs spells and alchemy of course.
Chose Blunt as a major skill
Decide I really like the cutlass instead
I don't want to start again
did light armor always used to break so easily? All my shit hits 0 durability after every second encounter
Playing this game for the first time.
What do I need besides this? nexusmods.com
showclassmenu, fucking dumbass.
Major skills only speed up their leveling anyway. Like 7000 swings vs 11000 swings to get to 100.
based and Kordan-pilled. don't start over though, just grab one and buy training. one whacker's as good as another, and it all levels now.
I made a custom class called shadow spell. currently busting the game and maxing out my stats. I can't believe how broken this game is compared to the original
you need a different website. nexus is ran by tranny loving euro trash
that's a good thing. repair your gear and max out your armorer skill
I was going to roll a bald imperial beggar coward back in the day but I never got around to it. just fucking run away and blunder through everything
I levelled up too fast and now I'm bored
I know nothing about this. Can you make your own class in Oblivion? Where the fuck was this i n Skyrim?
start again with a new build
make up some stupid rules like not attacking directly and being support for a knight
just rush the battlehorn barracks and go be the healer of some knight
make a murder hobo with broken magic spells. give yourself 40k magicka
yeah you can make your own class in oblivion
Not sure what you call it, but I tend to start with sword, shield, and restoration before transitioning into a rare sneak+marksman build
Best mod and build setup for monk?
Heavy armour, 100 strength, Jack of all trades for the rest (except luck).
Axe-wielding, heavy armor High Elf here.
I'm roleplaying as the "By the Nine, the Emperor sure knew who to pick out of his prison cell"-Chadmer
Restoration, Alteration, and Mysticism for defenses and in defenses for others, then it's all aggression. And to magically blast open locks because Chadmer of Cyrodil doesn't have time for that lockpicking nonsense.
Armorer to sharpen the axe edge.
I guess I took Acrobatics so I could dodge evade, not that I ever use it.
Been playing on Expert Difficulty. I've never played more than a few hours of Oblivion before, so this is my first time through.
My female Breton from Skyrim who time traveled
I actually hate how skyrim handles leveling because unlike most games that expand your playstyle skyrim does the opposite and limits it. You start off with everything unlocked and viable, but as you level up the only things that stay viable are what you invest in, so in effect you just slowly lose gameplay options over time.
no idea about mods, but alteration, restoration, and willpower. you will need extreme amounts of fatigue, magicka regen and healing later on. the alteration will give you a little padding.
all I know is there is a pair of Gauntlets of the Pugilist that give you a hand to hand buff
"See that mountain tower?"
morrowind does it the best
welcome to becoming over powered early
It's a trick, the tax on those properties is fucking ludicrous.
money doesn't matter in oblivion because you can just use a chest and dupe anything you want
If Morrowind had "12 virtues" on level up like the Oblivion Remaster does and retroactive endurance I'd agree I think Morrowind does it best. It also really nails the xp gain rate imo, I've never felt that it was too fast or too slow (except for hand to hand)
I like the 12 virtues mechanic too. it was a nice add quality of life change
one thing I didn't realize at first though was always put a point into luck
Would be good if the Magic skills got changes for levels similar to skyrim
ie
Journeyman restoration heals fatigue and health for the cost of heal health, Master gets a free revive
Journeyman Destruction unlocks lingering fire damage for all fire spells
Expert Conjuration can use 2 summons. Master can have a permanent
Expert Novice can have a permanent Apprentice level spell like 10% shield
Simply having "you can use harder spells that do the same thing but more" is very bland.
go to waterfront
free abandoned shack
DEGmods
Is there any mod fo rthis>?
the nuclear wizard of course
specifically a sneaky one since magicka regenerates faster out of combat
Make potions too fast
Game crashes
because the health pools in this game are fucking gargantuan
no, it's because the sneak attack multipliers don't work properly with power attacks
brewing is supposed to be a chill activity you, you, arthritis bait
Spell restrictions kind of suck
>Expert Novice
Currently setting up a slower leveling mod
What speed should I set it to?
0.5x?
0.25?
its been a while since I played the original but I have barely started any of the guilds and am already lvl 10
that's a shame they don't implemented specific gaunlets for hand to hand it would have been a nice feature.also spears etc
All of it. Just play on easy mode instead of cheating yourself into becoming a God.
I turned my graphics down to the lowest and it stopped crashing for that
the leveling speed is an inverse parabola
0.25x and use skill trainers to raise the grindier skills non-magic skills that have level 50/75 perks relevant to your build
I wish they added the ability to enchant gauntlets to do elemental damage, or just add caestus or something as weapons for hand to hand
hand to hand blocking does nothing, even with fat daedric gaunlets
punch damage maxes out at like 11, about half what normal weapons can do
fatigue doesnt lower damage anymore so the fatigue damage does effectively nothing except prevent power attacks
This combined with the awful level scaling makes it beyond useless, shame too, the new animations look pretty alright
.5 feels too slow
ive played like 50 hours and my blade skill which im primarily using is still only like 60 or something
also leveling/scaling is a bit too slow at .5
i'd recommend like .75
I was only gonna set actual leveling speed, not the skillup speed
My skills are progressing fine, I just dont want to get a levelup twice per fighters guild quest
I did a grant total of 3 fighters guild quests, 1 mage guild quest and 1 dark brotherhood quest and im already at lvl 10 with dwarven gear spawning
I explored a grand total of 2 ayyyylied ruins, and nothing else
Ill be hitting glass armor before I finish a single guild at this rate
I don't like the fatigue change
simple as
S-scary...
mixing light and heavy armor
Revolting
I sold my cuirass by accident lol
Dupe
Just use a console command if you want to cheat.
i googled what to do, the build
stealth guy who only uses dagger and poisons
played it before, the build
Stealth and blunt at the moment. I want to get paralyze poisons or enchants soon. Bonking npcs on the head is fun.
Leather armor has like less than three times the amount of durability compared to Steel. Everything is at least a quarter of the weight or less, so it's really a toss-up between durability vs. carry weight. Light armor will eventually hit the armor cap on its own with no encumbrance while heavy armor can only weigh half as much at best, so it's just a matter of preference and maybe Anon Babble.
Expert Novice can have a permanent Apprentice
Best Reshade preset?
What build are you running?
the original you jeet fuck
just letting you know im like 50 hours in, ive done a ton of shit , 3 guilds finished, tons of oblivion gates and main story 70% of the way done and my blade skill STILL is 64 lol
I'm using Ayleid 3 but with bloom turned down a notch. Ayleid 2 was pretty nice too.
euro
shalom
this thread is full of ignorant zoomers who didn't play the original
SDR version?
tons of oblivion gates
he doesn't know
wat
i thought the original Oblivion was THE zoomer Elder Scrolls game, from what i have seen the majority of interested people who play the demaster are millenials who missed out on it back in the day.
go to a blade trainer idiot. elder scrolls games are literally pay to win.
Trying a stealthy mage/assassin for the first time, along with playing a Bosmer for the first time.
download the remove lumen and unfuck the UE ini
suddenly the game runs at almost constant silky smooth 60fps outdoors at high settings(ultra performance) while running like shit at locked 30 fps on lowest settings(ultra performance) before
how is this even legal to release games at that state?
gtx 1070 i7 7700k btw.
They were under 10 when it came out, more likely to have played Skyrim
my first build was an archer then I made a mage and then a 2h warrior
demaster was made by jeets, chinks and french... so yeah the unholy trinity
delusional
no he's spot on. i was 9 when oblivion dropped but only heard about this series cuz of skyrim
The original game is famous for being poorly made.
I was like 13 or 14 when I first played oblivion. I rented it from a blockbuster and played it on my 360
Blow it our your ass, retard.
My mistake, it's no encumbrance for Heavy Armor at best. The choice pretty much doesn't matter too much by endgame.
wtf do you do people do for endgame buffs?
im only lvl 12 but I already have 100 agility and from everything I've read there's no point buffing past 100.
I was hoping to cast Fortify Agility spells before a fight for max damage but apparently it's worthless.
wont be long before im 100 everything and there'll be no point fortifying anything.
kinda weird system.
Reminder that there are self admitted shills spamming threads for this shit and the mods are (shocker) covering for them. arch.b4k.dev
she cute
In Morrowind this happens later but you just become a god and steamroll everything, here is just hollow.
every oblivion character seems to devolve into being the same generic 100-all-stats daedric armor template that does everything by the time you're breaching midgame and it makes me not really want to play it
maybe when someone makes a cool overhaul
yeah it's making me wanna play Skyrim again desu, I played this as a stupid teenager and never got this far.
now I play it - and clear as day see all the problems with it.
I always go the most overpowered brainless shit on the first run to get my bearings and help me understand the mechanics for other builds. So I I went Breton Battlemage, just got the Mundane Ring so now I'm just immune to magic.
After this, I'm gonna do a pure Nord Warrior with basic steel gear and no enchanted weapons.
Why are there no polearms? Was it really that hard to make a thrusting animation?
Get a mod that slows down leveling.
That's the one, yeah. It might still be washed out, and it is bright on the menus but I've adjusted the game brightness to compensate.
I am the king of Yemen,
there, now you have concrete proof that the king of Yemen browses Anon Babble
You've got it the other way around. All attributes still get boosts past 100. Skills are the ones that hard cap at 100, excluding Acrobatics, Athletics, and I believe random shit like Speechcraft.
so if I boost agility to 120, I do 20% more damage?
if I boost blade to 120, I don't do 20% more damage?
neat, im currently limited by the actual weapon I have so ill wait till later.
It's not a 20% damage boost in your example. You attributes actually contribute far less than your skills, which is why they're not hard capped to 100.
So does Ascension f ixc everything with Oblivion?
according to this guy everything keeps going up but damage gets capped, so you can't buff for damage past 100.
steamcommunity.com
Funny how this post wasn’t deleted immediately after someone pointed out how fucked up it is that you say you’re the king of Yemen. But it’s good to know this bothered you sukdeep.
Hello fellow crusader
Who is she for?

Into the trash.
retarded gen alphanoid
what
reading comprehension, man, he was replying to me who first shat on zoomers. Morrwboomer here
Where are her pants
Is there any way to increase the sword swinging speed?
I want to use a claymore due to its aesthetic but the swings are painfully slow
It's heavy
it's amazing how the new leveling system basically encourages you to play the game the way the devs probably intended you to play it originally compared to min-maxing everything like an absolute autist.
In general, two handed sword + heavy armor + Restoration
When things get dicey: Conjuration + block
Is hand to hand viable above adept difficulty
I never really felt a need to do anything other than Nightblade, its the prefect balance of everything you actually need in this game
I kind of wished they had done more. I always liked Oblivions story and setting but the incredibly clunky systems are still very clunky, even with the minor changes they made. NPC dialogue is as random as ever, little to no point in entering dungeons etc.
Human
Male
Imperial
Blunt
Heavy Armor
I will play a female mage on the next playthrough once the good body mods drop.
Two handed weapons are absolute trash because of the new animations and retarded combo system that cuts your melee DPS in half compared to the original.
I played an archer, mage and 2h'd warrior and the 2h'd build did the least damage by far
Samefag
small indie company
The exp rate does need some work
I just started a thief, which involves sneaking around the tutorial, and I already had a level by the first rat of the sewers
Strong and independent ebony Warrioress who no need no man.
Yeah I downloaded a mod that buffed their damage by 1.6x and it felt perfect.
the leveling is very overtuned. getting 12 points every level pretty much ensures you have 4 stats at 100 by level 20. in og you usually got like 5+2+2 if you didnt powergame
They're not trash when you spam power attacks that don't combo anyway so the only thing that matters is damage/hit and sword power attacks apply vulnerability to normal weapons which further boosts your damage.
I hate that the knights of the nine DLC is active by default
Ruins the short comfy period where nothing is actually happening
I really wish that builds would matter in this game more like in Morrowind. But build is a useless term in oblivion.
Dios mio...
What's a fun build for Altmer? I can't ever find something fun for them that isn't nuclear mage
morrowind
build
with morrowind alchemy
KEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK
If you had 100% reflect damage and 100% magic resist would anything in the game even be able to damage you?
i really wish this stupid company improved on Radiant AI instead of gutting it. speechcraft is already underrated in oblivion, imagine how much good non-combat content you could get in cities and the like if they'd tried to give even 1% of a shit
They need to cut it down to 9 virtues/level. That way you can either increase 3 stats equally by +3 or go all in on one stat with a +5 and then distribute +4 between one-two secondary stats.
they made Syl even hotter
Breton Mage Killer
Lord birthsign
Combat specialization, Heavy armor, blunt, blocking, mysticism, restoration, alchemy, armorer
Endurance and Luck because Luck is based
I've been running around with 65% magic resist since I stepped from the sewers
torture mages, kill mages, dismember mages
Sneed Class
kek
You would still get hurt by arrows.
heavy or light armor for a spellsword?
Pure strength war hammer build
Light for Ayyyyyleid crown.
Bows.
I used to strategize about what if oblivion got a multiplayer update. My realization was Magic=useless because absorption/reflect so mage races would be useless in pvp. Melee would be useless because reflect, so melee races would be shit as well. Bows would naturally become the only way to fight without killing yourself. Bows and poison. The only was to get around magic resistance would be to use poison, but if you were an Argonian you would be immune even to that. So bowgonian would be the best build for a hypothetical Oblivion pvp mode. Could be missing something critical, but it would be a solid choice.
Yes. The sun is the same story.
All caused by Magnus, who was the architect for all of reality. Once he discovered it's purpose, he left Mundus in disgust. In the process he created a hole from Mundus to Aetherius. His Et'Ada followers, the Magna-Ge did the same, tearing smaller holes and creating the stars.
The night sky is my biggest let-down in the remake. It's just a picture of the real world night sky. The original's was custom; you could see a few of the birthsign constellations if you looked closely.
If I will exploit nothing matters
Just use console commands, you aren't playing in a console are you?
Resist Magic affects poisons
You don't exploit anything. You cast a custom-made spell to fortify intelligence and alchemy by 100 for 1sec and then craft gigapotions that break the game in half. Completely legal.
What the fuck is Moloch? Is he an Aedra? I can't find any about him even with google.
Paladin. Heavy armor, restoration, destruction, mace, shield. I heal, use touch fire spells and smack enemies with the mace, it's pretty fun. I was thinking about dropping the roleplay and just being a generic battlemage because all the daedric armor and such looks terrible for this roleplay, but then I came across the quest that gives you the crusader armor so I'm all set.
I've played Oblivion back in the day, but never any magic character. Battlemage in Oblivion is definitely way better than doing it in Skyrim.
Are Restoration touch spells useless? Is there ever a point you can act like a healer towards people or cure paralysis for others?
Every time I have follower(s) that aren't essential, I never leave with all of them. Healing them doesn't seem practical, they will always run off and do something stupid and take a bunch if damage, but I'm debating on making an AOE spell that keeps them buffed at least.
goblin(wood elf) stealth archer
Not elemental damage or paralysis poisons though.
I have Mara's blessing for a free daily big touch heal (and self heal). I don't think I've used it on others once, you can wait for an hour if the npcs start getting low HP.
cure paralysis
pfft
Trying to play the truest version of a Dunmer warrior I can. Enchanted swords and Destruction magic synergy type thing. So far its more fun than being unga-bunga melee warrior man or an arrow shooting machine.
Can you make having a blade and bow skill work?
So what were the Hackdirt Brethren?
Playing with Ascension and everything keeps one tapping me
Why wouldn't you? Just shoot them and once they get close draw your sword. You'll have enough stat points to max out strength and agility anyway.
kitty build
Deranged cannibal skooma fiends who hallucinated a bit too much.

How would you rate the cities from most to least comfy?
For me it's
Anvil
Skingrad
Bruma
Imperial City
Cheydinhal
Chorrol
Leyawiin
Bravil
Bruma
Chorrol
Cheydinhal
Anvil
Imperial City
Skingrad
Bravil
Leyawiin
Leyawiin depresses me in a way that even Bravil doesn't
ew mod that UI
Whatever keeps me levelling up.
based fellow main quest denier
how about I mod your mum's cooch
It's over...
why did you make the lesbian from last of us
Same as I did on x360
class: nightblade
birthsign: shadow
He gave Umbra away to Clavicus Vile
Bruma/Anvil
Chorrol
Imperial City
Cheydinhal
Leyawiin
Skingrad
Bravil
Bruma and Anvil share the nº1 spot because they're both exceedingly comfy, just different kinds of comfy.
I prefer the Ebony Blade
t. Matilde Petit
does the arrow/scroll dupe glitch still work? I want my items to fly everywhere not just multiply in a box.
How the fuck did I contract porphyriic hemophilia reeeeeeeeee
I did Azura's quest days ago
just play superior original version that has shivering isles knight of the nine but not the weird castle dlc activated best of both worlds
does the goblin wars mechanic still exist in the remaster
the what now
2-handed hammers with aoe debuff spells and occasional dagger use
I can't remember most bandits being khajiit and redguards in the original
Did the chinks weave that in?
Breton Atronarch, can only use scrolls as my magic
TODD = GOD
and no build here. messed around with the game for a while, but I'm waiting for the mods to develop

lmao
mace and shield with magic, the glass mace is probably my favorite design wise
Redguard Paladin, the only true build
what's he cookin
VAMPIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Are cloud saves still broken?
I've come to realise I really hate the progression in these games. Because there isn't one way to play the game, everything from the loot, the enemies, difficulty, etc. Are all fucked. It isn't rewarding to play unless you like "being immersed" sure the world is cool and some of the quests are fun but when it comes to the rpg stuff it just feels broken. This goes for all elderscrolls games
be Bosmer
questing for the relics
Pelinal doesn't lose his mind upon meeting you
the years really mellowed him out huh
What custom spells should i make?
For you
Is there a console command to tell me how many oblivion gates are open so I can know if I can proceed past Paradise? Does enabling all fast travel points and counting them work?
