This game is so much harder than I remember it being. Kvatch & the second fighter guild quest in Anvil were wars of attrition.
This game is so much harder than I remember it being...
ive never played it
it's poorly balanced, they really need to address the scaling issues
I remember when RPG fans complained about Todd dumbing things down. Today they complain that Oblivion is too hard.
why not
I haven't touched the slider
I mean it doesn't offer as much control as Morrowind. I made a character in that game and managed to steamroll shit 10 levels above me
Just mod the difficulty so higher difficulty both player and NPCs deal more damage.
not everybody was a faggot who had to play master mode because their favorite streamer does
I had the best luck with the bow just kiting the enemies around and breaking the line of sight to keep them from hitting me
some of those bastards had attacks that just lock onto you like a magnet and there was no way to move. cheap bullshit that
I'm guessing that master mode is the slider moved all the way to the right? I'm more inclined to slide it left right now
Hahaha I did Kvatch at 20+ and it felt like a proper infernal invasion from hell rather than a few scamps running around.
I had to use all my poisons, all my potions all my 20+ welkynd stones to spam magic and so on.
Used up everything and got through it, if I didn't have ghostwalk(60 sec invis spell since I didn't start spellmaking yet) I'd be toast kek
It's not a slider in the remaster. But they both have the same effect, you do less damage and take more on high difficulty and the inverse on low. It's only really useful to force leveling.
And let me tell you those spider daedra you can kill them easily alone but try fighting them in a big group when they paralyze you as bunch of Xivilai keep pounding your paralyzed ass lol
I feel like I should be crafting nothing but fatigue regen potions with how fast I drain it.
but anon, I had to do that too and I was level 1, so whatever floats your boat
The bow kiting was invaluable when I assaulted the first oblivion gate. However once I was inside I found frost touch more useful.
First time playing it. I played on Adept until I got to the Shrine of Azura. Those fucking Will of the Wisp pissed me off so much I went full noob mode and kept it that way. I wanted to beat the main questline without guides but I feel like I made it too easy. Every mob instantly died and I spent more time moving around than combat.
You can easily kill the wisps by engaging and disengaging fast.
Like they have this weakness as they stay in place and keep trying to suck your essence.
You gotta time it right go in get a hit in a go back(but not too far just barely out of their reach) and they'll be rooted in place as they're trying to suck you.
Damn. If I had known they were needed for the main quest, instead of those stupid NPCs that did nothing, I might have tried harder. I thought the NPCs would kill them but instead they died to bandits or wolves instead kek
God, every time I read this stupid ass suggestion.
Master mode is really just for when you go fucking nuts with spellmaking+enchanting. It's perfectly reasonable then. But really there should be a setting between Adept and Expert, and leveling is also way way too fast considering the game pretty much caps out at level 20.
make a weakness to magic spell with ice weakness
make a on touch ice spell
spam weakness 2-5 times
hit ice spell
mob falls over on vanilla master difficulty
Learn to spell weave. You can do the same thing with a sword.
In general monsters with abilities like sucky sucky are quite strong you either take them out with range or like this btw
But really there should be a setting between Adept and Expert
They should have made Adept a little harder and everything would have been perfect.
Expert and Master for spell autists who know everything about Oblivions magic system. Adept for people who wanted a slight challenge that isn't just one shot everything with one melee swing.
btw the sidestep ability you get from acrobatics helps a lot to quickly disengage
streamer plays game
will only try giga gay difficulty meant for sadists
quits immediately, calls the game unbalanced trash
mindless followers blindly agree
repeat for every game with a meme difficulty ever
I hate streamers
How does other people having shit taste affect you in a single player game?
I don’t know if it’s the remaster or they were like this in the original but their hitbox is incredibly small, almost impossible to hit them with non-touch spells.
watch streamer
hes fucking bald
plays giga gay difficulty
gets to the point where he's cheesing it cause thats how oblivion is
people cry the games too easy
You can never win.
The remake is actually way harder than the original. Because of how the enemies attacks and hitboxes have been improved, they really fuck your ass if you fight greater numbers. Died more than a couple times retaking kvatch.
in the original they also tended to turn invisible and it was harder to hit them without using detect life lol, now I only see vampires using invis spells.
Ghostwalk
Xenoblade X Mentioned!!!
I hope they patch in the original difficulty slider. I would like something between Adept and Expert.
in the og whenever I was at wisp levels I made sure I stayed away from zones with outdoor npcs because those fuckers would kill everyone and its usually before I had enough resources to reverse pockpicket god tier shit on everyone and drop a conjured daedric weapon at their feets.
mods already do that retard
been playing 1.5 difficulty and original leveling speed
can you still roll wit a party on remaster or does it run too much like dogshit to have 5 npcs with you?
Dont level up and it's much easier. The game gives you levels way too quickly and balances the game around your level. Enemies will be much stronger but you wont have the equipment yet to match it. Only sleep in beds if you need to.
This game is so much harder than I remember it being. Kvatch & the second fighter guild quest in Anvil were wars of attrition.
Here's some tips for you noobs out there:
put difficulty on intended/developed on difficulty, the middle of difficulty slider, 1 to 1 damage.
realize you are playing an RPG
realize you have to play an RPG like an RPG
make a good build
play your build properly. e.g. use your major skill that does damage and only that one so you remain on par or better with enemies.
be aware of high damage enemies that aren't affected by the weapon formula, that reduces normal weapons that human npcs use down to the normal amount using the formula. like clanfears and ogres.
Beware of mages in general until you get some magic resist items.
use gear for your build
don't fight like a moron
keep your fatigue up so you do more damage
only pick up loot worth multiple times it's weight in gold
sell most of your loot to the elf blacksmith in Anvil. He is bad at mercantilism so he gives you the best deals by default and he has 1000 gold for bartering.
???
profit
Enjoy N'wahs.
wisps still tend to appear in some areas regardless of high level for example I constantly find them near the swamps of Leyawiin even at level 30.
Same thing for mudcrabs near the imperial city and I also tend to find trolls near the entrance of great forest.
I close oblivion gates for the sole purpose of collecting sigil stones and do the save/load exploit to get the particular sigil stones I want.
you can't play the game normally on Adept or higher.
You literally have to have some cheesy sweat build to win the game.
Is it cool the game lets you exploit the shit out of it to win? Yes.
But it puts off people more.
Its why people prefer Skyrim heavily over Morrowind/Oblivion.
I still enjoy the game but I don't like seeing people who didn't even play the game (any game) shitting on it because some streamer said it was too hard
Are we talking about the original or the remaster?
I don't remember the wisps being so bad in the original. DId they change them or something? The hitboxes feel too small and they regenerate way too fucking fast and chase you way too fucking far
remaster for me at least.
I've tried to play the game on Adept and its just... its too hard for me. I dunno if I just am a brainlet or what.
OG Obliv was pretty hard. I had to doublecheck my difficulty settings in the remaster because I was one-shotting too much.
I remember on my first playthrough of the original, one of the first things I did was the Arena and I beat it by literally running a circle around the damage sponge enemies.
There was this groove you could get into on the Xbox 360 version where you could run around an enemy and constantly hack at their back as long as you held the left thumbstick a certain way and kept the right one aimed properly.
Good shit.
normal RPG
Leveling up makes the game easier
Oblivion
Leveling up makes the game harder
Bravo Bethesda
You have to close one at every town in the main quest so I usually just wait for that.
Speaking of, I don’t see people talking about shivering isles much they probably haven’t reached it because there you also have some pretty bullshit enemies.
not really, most game design in every genre is supposed to get harder as you go. later levels or stages or bosses or enemies get harder
morrowind and oblivion both had pretty rough starts. skyrim basically made the game easy mode for everybody
Thank you 10 years of smoking weed and drinking alcohol. I am now able to play this game for the first time, again.
realize you have to play an RPG like an RPG
I roleplay by making my character good at skills he would be good at, and progressing naturally based on how he would act instead of casting level 1 restore 80 times before bed.
As much as I disagree with all the scaling and difficulty griping about Oblivion, RPGs aren't meant to be minmaxed and roleplaying never result in a good build in this game
I role play as a special faggot who doesn't need to practice or train to be better than everyone else :)
I really need CBBE and skimpy armor mods, it's just not the same without it
Security is such a useless skill. The amount of tumblers falling when you fail decreasing is pointless because once you understand how to lockpick you cant fail.
You’re a brain damaged retard
fellow bald fat shit viewer
whats the best weapon to have
the slider is still there, hidden, it doesn't have more steps because the frogs couldn't imagine names for the difficulty levels
300000s drain fatigue poisons
The thing that's lame about this is that all of the loot and rewards in the game are nothing compared to just spamming weakness to magicka
Battle-Axe gets a three hit combo while claymore and warhammer get a two hit. Longsword with above average speed/athletics and its great range will probably let you no-hit the entire game.
first time ever going there I had like 25 levels from stealing mercantile and so on, imagine my expression finding out the friendly NPCs don't scale and I had to fight these endgame monsters with my non-combat character
That is how you play, spawning into the world with meta knowledge and reloading the game world if you get +4 instead of +5 on a level up.
My characters train by doing the busywork they find, and once they get to know trainers they'll train as often as they manage to reach them and afford it. If my character doesn't survive all of the game content it's not a difficulty issue, it's a RPG functioning like a RPG.
Just lower the difficulty slider, you don't need scaling mods or anything else. Just lower the difficulty slider until the game is not too easy and not too hard.
you don't need scaling mods or anything else
Yes you do leveling is way too fast
can you still get Umbra to follow you all the way to the guards and have them kill her?
Summons scale
Go use you humongous wealth to buy all the scrolls
bro just use your builds main weapon
ye
not a single useful tip
game feels a bit too easy
turn the difficulty slider up a bit
enemies hit hard enough
but take forever to kill
becomes extremely boring
turn down the difficulty
enemies die fast enough
but doesn't deal damage
no mods that fixes this
when is the fun mod happening?
>no mods that fixes this
retard
if you're implying im playing the demaster, then you are sorely mistaken and retarded
Is heavy armor a noob trap?
you are beyond retarded
No
Learn english ranjeed
This was a golden opportunity for them to fix the level scaling, and they blew it. Everything has way too much health at higher levels.
The persuade minigame it overly complicated, at least for me. I cant wrap my head around it to save my life.
RNG related
no. I can confirm the wisps are designed to rape you for the full experience if you're not prepared to use any anti-wisp tricks.
