Which of the final fantasies are wroth playing...

which of the final fantasies are wroth playing? i realize they are all different games but either way it's hard to differentiate them when they are all named the same but with roman numerals at the end.

stranger of paradise

i stopped playing after 10, but all the one up to that point were fun.

5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 are the bread and butter, pick 5 or 7 for your first.

1

(you don't need to play 2 or 3 it's the same as 1 but worse, especially 2 holy fuck don't play 2)

6

(you don't need to play 4 or 5)

Then everything after except the MMOs (11 and 14)

Yes even the 13 trilogy and 15

Final Fantasy in a post-E33 world? None.

What era of games do you like the most? Are you someone who actually liked long videogsme are you one of those reddit dads who complain that rpgs take time? Do you like story or mechanics?

Give me something to work with you stupid suggestfag

5, 7, 8, 9, 10 are the only ones that are unique and high quality enough to be worth it

Crystal Chronicles is also a nice spinoff game and beautifully put together but it’s simplistic

Rebirth

1 optional. Then skip to 7. Then skip to 10 and 10-2. Then skip to 13 series. Then skip to 15.

Cucks will say that muh 6 or 8, but theyre cucks. If youre a jobless fag that has all the time in the world then play them all, probably.

13 and 15 are fucking terrible games

Story is important, so is gameplay. One doesn't work without the other. If a game has bad gameplay but good story i ain't playing it, and vice versa. If it has good gameplay and good story i'll play it.

Sure, lil bud. Cope and seethe.

Then skip to 13 series. Then skip to 15.

utterly dogshit taste in games, FF franchise or not

For someone new to the series: IV, V, VI, VII, IX, XII, XVI. Maybe X, if Titus doesn't look like a faggot to you or if you're into that. I-III are probably too antiquated for a new player, and you'd be better off going back to those later if you find that you like the series. My suggestion for a starting point would be VI or VII. I did not include XI or XIV because they are MMOs, you can figure out if you want to play them later. Do not play FFVII Remake without playing FFVII, because it's not a remake, it's a shitty sequel.

4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, FF7 Remake, FF7 Rebirth, FF Tactics, FF Tactics Advance, FF Tactics Advance 2

1, 2 and 12

people actually recommending 6

the game where every character only has 1 good skill and most characters are worthless

where the stat system is literally broken

and every fight is just spamming the one spell or skill which works over and over

and is one of the most railroaded FFs til near the end

Actually play this shit game again as an adult, you’ll hate it

6 is good experience but it doesnt have the replay value 5, 7, 8 and Tactics have

no 4

why are you like this? Beside that i concur with your list.

you have the most schizophrenic taste ever

I played 8 and 13 and enjoyed them to some degree but didn't actually finish either of them. Is the 7 remake a solid entry point? I heard it's well made but more like a fanservice edition for vanilla 7 fans. Among other jrpgs, I finished both SMT 4, Persona 3 and tried Tales of Berseria, HD Neptunia 1 and Mary Skelter 2.

7 remake is less of an rpg so play the original if you like turn based jrpgs

7 and Tactics

And if you have a passing interest then play 8&10 but theres no need to go till you see the credits with them. Do not even bother with the rest. The rest of the series is pretty bland. 7 stood out because it was a urban futuristic game, Tactics was a unique SRPG that told a story about heirchy and 8&10 have unusual protagonists with drama.

The rest have none of that. Just power fantasy slop on rails.

I don't mind action-rpg. And "olf-fashioned" FFs are also ATB, a bit faster than default turn based games.

Remake expects you to have played of FF7. Remake and Rebirth are great but you need to have played 7 so you understand what's going on

bunch of retards flinging digital shit at each other

not a single person mentioning redmoa

weebs are mentally ill and have to prove it every chance they get

1-3 are NES JRPGs, very much of their time - pretty hard, simple and buggy. These are for established fans tbqh, and best to use romhacks

4-10 is there the series gets good, every one is a banger

4-6 are SNES RPGs, again of their time, but FF6 is a contender for the best of the entire series

FF7-9 are the PS1 games. FF7 is a classic that transcends the genre. FF9 is arguably a better game in some respects (imo) but less classic. Strangely despite it being onsale everywhere as a kid, I never played FF8 but I've heard its good

FFX is the first PS2 game and the first one with voice acting. It's excellent, a really good game, but some of acting is a bit suspect at times. Possibly the best soundtrack of any FF imo.

From there onwards I really wouldn't bother in terms of introducing yourself to the series.

So to recommend, I'd play one of:

FF7 (the most famous game of the series)

FF6 (the best of the 2D games)

FFX (the first to resemble a modern FF)

FF9 (a personal favourite and the end of 'classic' FF)

best of the 2d games

That’s 5

Fuck your nostalgia you worthless millennial

5 better than 6

5 isn't even better than 4 though

And 6 is better than both combined

latest[1].jpg - 1000x965, 466.58K

NTA but FF5 is better just for the sheer amount customization it allows to the player. It also has bigger replay value. 4 and 6 are good, 5 is simply better and more fun.

don't listen to this zoomer. 5 and 6 are nothing compared to 4. who the fuck even played 5?

the game where nothing is worth using is better than the game with multiple class system, all with abilities worth using

Fuck off nigger

main character is called Butts

Okay guy we get what you're about

I played 5 in 2004 when it got released for PS1. Had played 7, 8, 10 and 4 before that

I named him Bartz

FF6 is the most beautiful FF

FF5 is a guy called butts tries to find a job or something

I liked world of final fantasy.

asfasdsad.png - 840x1196, 1.95M

Post a screenshot of the actual game when you call it beautiful lmao. It looks like a street in India

Play FFV and realize that the series only went downhill from there

I didn't
best thing Persona 5 did was make turn-based feel snappy and responsive

My fav franchise, played all of them several times.
For 2D go with anything between 4-6. Play at least one (5 is the best gameplay wise, 6 story wise, 4 is the most accessible).
1-3 are very basic and super comfy, but touch them only if you're super into the franchise.
7-10 is the peak. Especially 7, obviously. If you have to play one FF game, regardless of era - 7 is the perfect one. However, 9 and 10 are as close to perfect as can be so they're decent choices as well. 8 is a bit of a wildcard.
The rest are alright, but I wouldn't start with them. I have a soft spot for the 13 trilogy due to awesome worldbuilding and aesthetic but would never recommend it in this case.

Personal favs are 7, 5 and 9.

Tactics Advance

Tifa's game is a good place to start, even the remake.

If you are a more intelligent and artistically minded person you'll start with originals and play/emulate their original versions (since the ports are all terrible) but something tells me you are not.

The best FF3 version is the DS version by far, because it's the only version that has some character to it. I'd rank it much higher than any 2d version of FF3.

Convince me that 8 is good.
I've tried to play it twice and I like quistis, but the school setting turns me off.

Tactics
14 free trial so you can do more Tactics-related shit at level 70, then quit.

It's good, has fast pacing, good card game and the game system is fun to break with refining items from cards and spells from items. But if Balamb Garden as setting is a turn-off, you won't like it

the school setting

Do you mean the physical school, or the fact the MC is a student? Cause you know you leave the school and travel the world, right?

Never got that far, but maybe I can grit my teeth through.

The two of them and 16 killed all the franchise hype.

5, 6, 7, 9, 10

muh jobs!

sure, but the characters and plot suck compared to 4 or 6.

I played 5 once, 20 years ago, and have never wanted to play it again because it kinda sucks. I have replayed 6 about 10 times because it's a fucking amazing game. but yeah, go ahead and talk about "replay value"

5 is better game. 4 and 6 have good stories, better than 5, but 5 is simply more enjoyable. 4, 5 and 6 are all good, 5 is simply the best of the three.

I only played Type-0 and Stranger of Paradise lol

I'm sorry you have brain problems. I have replayed them all but 5 is simply my favorite because it gives player more freedom compared to 4 and 6. I'm sorry but also happy you take it so personally.
