I've never quite understood Resurrection of Evil's setting. It's two years after the events of Doom 3 but it's as if a lot of the data catalogued about the events was just omitted or forgotten which probably includes the testimony of the Doom 3 marine. Earth's government should know how dangerous Mars is and prohibit travel to it indefinitely and disband the UAC. Instead the UAC is able to renew its program and the same events unfold again.

The only real downside of doom 3 is the shotgun is so OP most of the other weapons basically aren't needed.
