I found it enjoyable but it can wear on you. People seemed to have figured out how to blast through it easy faster than I did, but I do get satisfaction out of nuking bosses with Takumi and Nozomi. Wish that the skip battles function was better but it does make sense due to some dialogue between waves being different in different routes

Damn, seeing this I forgot that Takumi’s a manlet and Eito is fucking 6ft tall. Nozomi even has an inch on Takumi. Scary to think about. Eito is only 2 inches shorter than Moko Mojiro (also honorable mention damn didn’t realize Yugamu was an inch shorter than Takumi he always gives off the impression of being kinda tall but he’s also a manlet).

Nozomi towers over the whole other school besides at 5’7 (besides Moko) with Kurara 5’3 Kyoshika 5’4 and Yugamu 5’5.

From what I understand this is one of those games with a bunch of "fuck you player" type of endings.

Yeah some are fucked up, I’m scrolling through the report card now and it seems some they have their sprites sized right like Takemaru fucking touching the border of the screen, Hiruko and Eito nearly the same height and also kinda close to the top like Moko and Takemaru, but then going from Kurara to Kyoshika and reading there heights is a goddamn joke. Kurara appropriately sized, Kyoshika what the fuck. And then Yugamu’s looks to be slightly taller than Takumi despite apparently being shorter. All the other short characters seem to track fine though.

The SDA are nothing but engineered, disposable clones with false motivations for humanity whose life began on the 1st day. They were never going to reach the satellite, they are killed off every time

Please tell me it's the worst route and it's all an improvement from here. Also how far through am I getting all endings? I'm hoping not every single route goes through all 100 days like this.

Truth is easy enough to get on it's own, you might as well laser focus that. S.F. requires doing other routes to unseal the story locks because the scenario writer is up his own ass. I'd also recommend Retsnom but it's not really essential beyond expanding on world building and giving development to a certain character. For now, just focus on Truth and if you still feel like continuing after that you can come back and check the unlock conditions for SF.

If you haven’t done killing game he’s given a very different role in the story than any of the others. You can get to see him break his rule about not hitting women by catching him mid trying to kill Nozomi. One of my favorite lines from Takumi right after. He’s essentially the rival team leader of killing game

So I'm at Day 93. Route has been ok, a little empty at times. But how the hell does this parasite work? It changed Darumi's DNA enough as to render her unable to use hemoanima, yet an Eito offshoot flesh-blob still CAN? Were the rules of this thought through at all, or am I missing something?

I'm just going to spoiler most of this post, since it has to do with the foreshadowing of Darumi's eroge recommendations.
She recommends five different eroge during some route 0 school segments. I've played three of them and they've all had some parallels in Hundred Line.
Saya no Uta is the first one she mentions, and it has the most obvious connections to the game (Eito's whole deal and further references in retsnom). Sayonara o Oshiete and Shiniyuku Kimi are the other two I read, and they both relate to the Truth route in different ways.
Chronobox and Carnival are ones I'm unfamiliar with. I've also not read every Hundred Line route yet, so I don't know if there are more matching plot points I'm missing. Does anyone here know if these vn's also have links to the game? If so, what are they?

If you go to another route you'll be back where you were in the bond tracker

While you're on 2nd Scenario, you can only view Ghost Boy's bonding events on that route, so do them while you can.

So here's the plan, I kill Eito lock up Darumi go out to that invader base, kill the leader. Absorb him. Get the ability to talk their language. Have Yugamu torture and extort invaders for information. Convince the baby to not nuke us but to let us fly to the satellite, maybe just a drone. Gather info. Kill the ones in charge. Create a new empire on earth with Karua as Queen and Takumi as King. Ganbare~ Takumi-kun!

So in battle you're incentivized to get your units killed as much as possible for a massive resource and tactical advantage. As they get revived every wave. Units do however die due to story reasons. So much so that a cast of 15+ characters can dwindle down to 3 units (or less).

NTA but I think Ima's alright on the basis that he never betrays what he's all about. Day 1 he makes clear he only cares about Kako, and no matter the route or circumstance- He will always prioritize and think most about Kako. His sincerity and fixation on that duty is commendable to some degree. Gaku by comparison really has nothing he's true to, and the few things he cares about he'll betray for more immediate impulsive gain. He's a frivolous person whose only acts of kindness were intermingled thoughts of profit or bettering chances for his own survival, and whose acts of spite and perversion were countless. Ima, by contrast, never does something just to be awful. The things he does might be bad, and at times they might not even be what his sister wants. But you always know, from his POV, he thinks he's protecting her. He'd even perish for her if it he had to. An undeniably profound commitment born from devotion. That being said, I'm not exactly an Ima lover, it's just my two cents on why he's a lot more tolerable. Someone with an ideal they stand by will be more empathetic than someone who'd sell their ideals for ten yen and a hot dog.

There is no reason to skip a turn, anon. Every wave can be 1-turned with 1 Desperation potion, 1 Attack Potion, 1 Unyielding Spirit charge, and 1 Tsubasa. For a full battle you'll need about 5+ of each consumable ideally, and again 1 Tsubasa.
And then Spring Traps and Agility Potions to facilitate getting around.

I think the situation is a bit more ambiguous than that. Nozomi was the only one who could be saved quickly, and not going back to the 1st LDA had the risk of losing people too.

I got the mystery route first and you know how that goes... Deep into KG now but I've just lost all motivation to continue; the routes seem rather bite-sized and I can't say the mystery is interesting enough that I want to subject myself to the likes of the comedy route. What a complete 180 this game has taken.

Sounds like you might just need to focus on the 2nd scenario if that’s the stuff you’re really interested in. It’s just as long as the first route though and they make you manually go to the cafeteria again and go searching for items on the Mario party map. But it is the one that reveals all the mysteries of the 1st route.

The alt routes solve mysteries pertaining to the alt routes not the real truth of the war and the school and sirei and whatnot.

I made that chart after finishing 2nd scenario, after doing many more battles (fucking serial battle route) I have revised my opinions slightly, I agree Gaku should be lower his mobility sucks. Nozomi elevated to S+ as she can enable a lot of bullshit and only grows in power as your voltage gain grows.

Eito actually became harder to judge, he is still a great generalist that can randomly negate fatigue, but his availability is so low I can't really speak for certain, but I think he's still among the best. Darumi has a similar problem.

Lavender girl is also lower, because in all honesty her mobility sucks and she takes too much effort to build up. You spend much more time cleaning trash than hitting bosses.

takemaru voltage move is great for mass killing bigvaders. kako is just a get voltage free once for one turn. darumi carries in prologue and she's pretty decent in just swaming and getting AoE kills. it's annoying since hiruko should be good but her range is ass and setting up for MAX DAMAGE DPS is kinda hard to do since her and nozomi are almost never on the same side.

Tbh I don't care about anyone outside of S and A. I still think Eito should not be in A, and I'd bump Nozomi and Takumi down to A. Tsubasa really deserves a tier unto herself. She's just fucking busted on a level that makes Fire Emblem all-timers like Seth and Sigurd look puny.
The thing is, it's easy to kill bosses with whoever. But Tsubasa's action economy is unreal, it's unjustifiable. If this was a strategy game I actually wanted to play, instead of one I want to rush through as cursorily as possible, I'd be a little cheesed about it honestly.

Kurara is most useful when you're on the backfoot, which in this game, is almost never. She'd be ten times more useful if her turrets had better range. As it is right now, I can count on one hand the amount of times a turret has been in position to hit an enemy when I needed it to. Other than that, she's only really useful for repairing the barrier generator when you've got spare AP, which I rarely needed to do.

I've done two days of fighting in the serial battles route and I'm already over this.

My understanding is KG was written by Uchikoshi after the main Kodako scenario had been established, and was then appended to it. Attempts were made to make everything consistent, but KG deals with almost none of the themes and character arcs set up in the prologue. It seriously annoyed me how schizophrenic everyone was, constantly bickering and switching allegiances.
So yes, in my opinion, the spare-route is straight up better so far. And I haven't even done the "main" branch of it, just Retsnom.

I agree, and Nozomi called him out on his bullshit because of his obsession with protecting her while not thinking about how every Nozomi is not the same one that he knew from Common Route. And even then, she realized that at the moment his decision with saving her was understandable considering the timeline was altered and she could've very well died in that battle if they left her there while going back to their own school.
But like I said, Gaku and Ima weren't mad about the students dying. They were only mad at Takumi for lying in general and clearly didn't care about how Nozomi felt since no one said anything to her the whole time until she made up with Takumi.

Well, Japanese exported literature, art, films, games, etc. all suck you in with big and wild themes and concepts that you can't help getting hooked into. Sadly those ideas are always too big for the creators to neatly conclude, hence they always write themselves in a corner, with the only way out being asspulls or severe plot holes. Western media is significantly more grounded (and boring) but there's usually a satisfying payoff to be had.
Also, if you want an interesting and unique book, might I recommend House of Leaves?

It's nothing like Fire Emblem, my god. I compare FE's and HL's gameplay occasionally, but that isn't to suggest HL is *like* FE.
This is a visual novel with a shallow tower defense minigame stapled onto it. FE is 17+ game TRPG series with somewhat serious gameplay aspirations. They're almost an inversion of each other. I'm a huge FEfag that doesn't care for the writing in most FE games, but I like this for the story and characters.

They're all fairly long, fully-fleshed out routes (compared to some that skip lots of days). Maybe like ten hours each? Second Scenario is extra long but that one is worth seeing through.

Very well, this should be what most people can agree on. I think shouma and kurara both suffer from the same issues and can easily be called the 2 worst units in the game, so they desrve to be at the bottom which is worse can be argued but they're both just bad. Moko is just a strictly worse darumi, it's both funny and sad she basically replaces darumi after the prologue.

Her biggest strength is her obscene voltage generation. But she also has great range, negates fatigue every 2 fatigue and has a great ultimate.

I think Shouma would have been better if he had a more of a personality shift after the Kurara duel. I don't know into what exactly. Maybe something like the little guy in DR2. The contrast could've been amusing, at least, whereas his default gimmick is just dull.

Tsubasa powergaming. Idk, I mostly play TRPGs so I know what things tend to break them. Just stack everything onto her, as many commander kills as possible, and upgrade Deadlights to max. Then just max out her damage with potions and Unyielding Spirit. You'll see what tends to happen then, even if you're awkward in the execution.

If you stack all the hemoanima boosts from boss kills on one person you can get ass loads of damage on the special move and spam it several times a round.
You can easily 1 round bosses that are able to actually die or clear most of the wave in turn one if you just do this with takumi.

Oh, I have no criticism of the route itself but the shift in focus of the game after the prologue. It has turned into something else than what I was wanting. Just because I am no longer enjoying myslef does not mean the current route I'm on is in any way bad.

Total of 7 damage for 6 tiles, can easily circle around the map, use spring traps if you are short.
