I used to really like achievements and had fun unlocking them and hunting them but it stopped being fun when achievements were no longer achievements or challenges for players to unlock, but instead metrics for the developers to see how many people play their game or progress through it.

Tons of games dump a bunch of unsold copies onto sock accounts to put itself near or on the top sellers list for advertising, since outside of sales (and during sales as Steam User quality has dropped) you don't actually have to move that many games to get up there

Achievements were probably just added. FTL's most common achievement is just reaching sector 5 which takes maybe 20 minutes. But it has less than 50% completion rate because they were only added years after release.

Professional is basically easy mode. Try No Hope coop for a real challenge.

My achievements for Crash N Sane are fucked because they lazily pasted Relics into Crash 1 and 2, and especially in Crash 1 they're obnoxious to do and slapped Stormy Ascent in even though it was removed and slapped a relic in there.
It bothers me immensely but I'm not about to mod the game to not deal with the obnoxious ass Crash 1 relics or Stormy Ascent again after playing through it.

Will admit though, I am kinda stupid and I will fire up the N. Sane Trilogy from time to time, realize how obnoxious the crash 1 relics are and uninstall the game all over again.
But this usually results in me playing some backups of PS1 games I have and having a pretty good time, so there's that.

Ubisoft added achievements to all of their games retroactively because they're going bankrupt and it makes the difference between some sales and no sales.

DS1 didn't originally have achievements or they were GFWL only, I can't remember.
