The most underrated video game of all time

seasons >

No Maple
No Care

you're just coping because your older brother got ages and you were jealous

I'm fucking a tree. Your argument is invalid.

ages is too fucking hard

Brainlet

I thought I would like this but never got through it as a kid. I loved Link's awakening. I played seasons 50% I think

This is the only Zelda with ACTUAL puzzles, except the few in Twilight Princess with blocks and golems. And I'm not just saying

oh it's the only Zelda game to make me think

I mean that the puzzles in other games are usually just based on probing around, seeing what sticks, all that. This has some of that but most of it is pretty smart.

Mermaid Cave is pure fucking kino and the boss of the fifth dungeon is on the same level of fun as Goht. Too bad its other dungeons are dropping the ball.

Skull Dungeon has the sickest music in any 2D zelda ever that being said, Seasons had the better gimmick.

there are people who don't enjoy both games

Plebs, the lot of you.

Season‘s gimmick does not fuck you over with loading times and getting sent back in time due to spawning on inaccessible terrain.

hero's cave in Ages

They didn't fuck around here.

Why does every fan of every individual Zelda game act like a victim? Do you realize how many great games there are that you've never heard of and will never play because they don't say Nintendo on the box?

So, do I play Seasons or Ages first?

Scroll into a new area

Hear this replace the overworld music

what do

Ages has too many items that are upgrades of older items. The final item being "power bracelet only picks up coffins now" is disappointing.

"Accidentally" bump into her as an excuse to talk

cut down all bushes

equip pegasus seeds

clean her out

Meanwhile, Season‘s upgrades are the Magic Boomerang and Roc‘s Cape.

I was stuck in Jabu Jabu's Belly for what feels like MONTHS when I was a kid. And it's music has been permanently engraved into my memory.
I wouldn't be able to pick a favorite. I like them both equally, though Seasons was the first one I played.

it does not matter but Seasons is easier and Ages has harder puzzles, so if you're not familiar with 2D zeldas youd wanna try Season first.

Play Ages first because a minor story line gets concluded in Season‘s linked adventure afterwards.

Both this and Seasons are pretty meh to be quite honest, the only good Zelda game Capcom made was Minish Cap.

Maple is in it tho.

even when these came out, NObody fucking cared
i thought they were neat but i really fucking loved LA

Seasons was always better.
Better gimmick.
SIGNIFICANTLY better overworld.
Faggots always go

b-buh Ages has good dungeons though

When you have Jabu Jabu's Belly and it's shit tier Mermaid Suit movement for an entire god damn dungeon.

this game's art was excellent. I remember seeing an ad for in a magazine at the top, I just marveled at the art

this was pure fucking misery drove me crazy

I liked that swimming and every part of the south sea section.

Seasons isn't anywhere near as good and I have no idea how this meme got started.

the gimmick in seasons is just so ass.

oh cool, it put snow on the ground so i can climb into a house

oh cool, it made flowers so i can chop them down and move forward

the underworld map is pretty neat but feels half-baked and empty. whereas past and present ages feels very unique full of new NPCs and new storylines to absorb.

both are great games. beaten ages probably 10+ times and seasons ~4. never really got into 3D zelda, but 2D ones (these 2 + LA) hold a special place in my heart.

Nayru > Din

Ages level 4 > Seasons level 6 > every other dungeon music

ill never understand why people suck off LA endlessly and just ignore the oracle games which are literally superior in every single aspect

even minish cap is better than LA. and both are way worse than the oracle games, especially when playing them back to back.

seasons mogs ages thoughbeit.

Kinda amazing that the peak of the franchise's dungeon, puzzle, and item design is a couple old Gameboy Color games. And even the director of said games (Fujibayashi) has struggled to surpass them despite being handed the reigns of the franchise and given much larger budgets. Albeit Aonuma is probably interfering constantly. SS was held down by waggle bullshit and BotW/TotK were held down by open world bullshit.

I've played both but never done a linked game is it even still possible?

hold on there nigger. theyre the best 2d games but in no way shape or form are the dungeons and items better than OOT. puzzles Ill give you, ages is the only zelda game I really had to think hard sometimes.

no seed shooter in 3D

no Roc's cape in 3D

no shovel in 3D

no Ricky in 3D

no Subrosians in 3D

no Maple in 3D

no Minish in 3D

What is Fuji doing?

Ages has higher highs and lower lows. Seasons is more consistent in quality. I prefer ages due to the story but I understand why others prefer seasons.

The codes are generated based name. If you wanted to play the 'official' ending, then you need to enter the code on a new game with the name that the guide has and you should be good to play the 'linked' version of either game.

Actually my cousin did.

Zelda peaked with the Oracles duology.

but Seasons or Ages

They're both fantastic and compliment each other.

Yeah, you're just switching between games and writing down codes a lot.
After you beat either game, you'll get an 18 symbol code that you input in the other game on a new file to start the 2nd quest.
Slightly different story with Zelda appearing, codes for new and upgraded items(Biggoron Sword that takes both slots for instance), and new boss fights at the end.
And then you get one more code for the first game that's basically the first quest over again but now you have rings from the other game and one for beating Ganon.

So why does Ages make me do the Goron Dance twice? Isn't once enough?
reminder that it might be easier to close your eyes while doing the goron dance since you only need audio cues. it's a bit like animal crossing fishing

ywn be link being forced to the floor and reverse-mating pressed into submission by the evil yandere witch possessing your gf's body

Why live?

Hope the bitch is carrying a Magic Potion.

I was too dumb to finish it as a kid. Got it on a Friday, got stuck somewhere for hours upon hours in the weekend. Traded it for Seasons on Monday lel

The only stuff I looked up for the Oracle games were the mechanics for the interlinked game stuff.

OOA/OOS mog the fuck out of LA yet the latter gets endlessly glazed by redditors and normalfags

Many such cases!

Awakening undoubtedly has the superior story, but the Oracle games' QoL stuff, visuals, and environments more than make up for the difference.
