Wikipedia has had an unofficial anime mascot for almost 20 years. The artist does loli art and every so often someone tries to pin this as a reason to replace the artwork and artist. The community reverts attempts to remove her

One day I'll understand why some people feel the need to lift their fingers to remove cute girls from their line of sight

You know the answer full well. Let's not turn it into one of those threads

Wikipedia is a serious and esteemed resource for information and knowledge. To poison that with cutesy anime shit on it front and center undermines that image and gives the wrong impression about what Wikipedia represents.
It's the same reason you would never include drawings of anime characters on the pages of your thesis or in research materials for an important scientific project. The moment you start putting anime on things, it's a red flag for anyone with a brain to ignore it and move onto something that actually respects their intelligence.

frog

opinion disregarded

Yes, smart people will definitely stop breathing air if some degenerate fucking anime nerd tells them that breathing air is good for you

Tagging your post with a frog would do the same thing

frog

you have my attention

"Cute aggression" is definitely a thing. Even the few things in this thread are enough to trigger some people.
Some are simply afraid that if they show any enjoyment then it will affect them socially and as a result overcompensate by attacking it.
Others will attack it artistically whilst championing something like pic related.

July 2007 — a suggestive image of Wikipe-tan (not drawn by Kasuga) was proposed for use in the article on lolicon. The image was removed[11] from Commons by Jimbo Wales, who called Wikipe-tan a "community mascot" who should not be subject to such "pedophilic sexualization".[11] Kasuga later drew a new image for the article which did not use Wikipe-tan.

Makes me laugh every time.
is kasuga's drawing by the way.

Gives example about academic thesis

Immediately has to straw man into changing it to a ridiculous example about breathing air, because weeb anon can not refute the actual example

Musk is already on the way out. Trump will follow. These are the last days for the retard.

frog

I havet read this post year but Im sure it will have valuable information.

edit: Yes! I was right, frogposters rules!

edit 2: Wow first time getting so many likes! Thank you guys!

lmao

looks like one of those newgrounds flash games that would steal hentai CG's

Always wondered why it can't be a two way street.
Like your picrel makes me retch, but it's not like I would claim it's morally reprehensible or that it should be scourged from the internet, because that would be insane.

by Jimbo Wales, who called Wikipe-tan a "community mascot" who should not be subject to such "pedophilic sexualization".

It's literally a fucking chibi anime character drawing bro, dear god...

Every day, I'm increasingly confident that the true pedos are the ones that advocates more about this type of censorship, because they can't help themselves to see kids (or in this case, an image of an underage-presenting character) sexually

A DRAWING OF WHAT

You sound like one of my teachers from 18 years ago.
It does a better job at globally keeping record and not letting any one country dictate how they want events to be seen.

You can find something ugly and have the right to call it so, but the outright removal, replacement and burying of something because of """undertones""" is simply wrong.

So it's not a resource for information and knowledge.

>It does a better job at globally keeping record and not letting any one country dictate how they want events to be seen.

For some reason whenever i read something about Israel or its enemies the text starts reading more like some fiction novel than gathered news reports

yeah which is why most of those laws regarding it are put forth by republicans

not letting any one country dictate how they want events to be seen.

cant tell with these faggots if theyre serious or not anymore.

Wikipedia, the online encyclopedia that anyone can edit!

that anyone can edit!

what a slut

A fictional character.

This is amazing

The three current Wikimedia sisters (from left to right): Commons-tan, Wikipe-tan, and Quote-tan.

April 1, 2021 — Adult Wikipe-tan was added as an opponent in the free browser-based strip poker game SPNATI (Strip Poker Night at the Inventory) as part of their yearly April Fools' Day event. After the event ended, she was removed before being added again due to several requests from the player base.[23]

Can you give an example?

There was a specific thing about preventing pre-Beijing editors from ruining articles
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2021_Wikimedia_Foundation_actions_on_the_Chinese_Wikipedia

On the conflict in gaza, there's a large section dedicated to the war crimes being committed and measures taken to ensure one side doesn't write the record
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/Palestine-Israel_articles_5/Proposed_decision#Motion_to_close

I wish there was a Wiktionary-tan, that's the one I use second-most.

It does a better job at globally keeping record and not letting any one country dictate how they want events to be seen

Instead wikipedia honors the opinions of whoever is the most disgustingly autistic and can rules-lawyer the longest about what's technically allowed on it.

Some Quote-tan love

Maybe for non politics. For politics, anything controversial or with few editors it's hot garbage. I literally had to keep watch on the JP ruling party page for multiple months on end because there was a gook schizo that wouldn't stop editing it from multiple accounts using biased opinion papers from SK as sources trying to push his narrative that the party is into monarchism, super duper far right , loves war crimes and despises Korea. He finally gave up on it like a year ago or so

I cant give an example, but whenever i read something that has anything to do with some <dictator> or someone seen as a dictator, or some group of people that werent exactly pro-semites, the tone of all writing in that page almost starts looking like im reading someones opinion piece instead of a report.
I read alot of stuff on wikipedia whenever i get curious and wonder around the place reading all kinds of nutjobs stuff but sometimes it just feels different
I dont think any of the stuff in there is exactly wrong, but it also doesnt feel like it belongs there, almost like the inclusion of that stuff was irrelevant but added only to manipulate my perception of somebody.

reminder

Guys, I got raped yesterday.

Reminder of what? That you're a murderer now? You just killed that person.

somebody call the cops, this guy just murdered me

A polymorphed druid

I know, I was there.

You did right by the site in upholding its impartiality. You will always have individuals who can ruin anything. Hell I've seen edit wars over the use of a cat picture because someone uploaded one with more clarity (cant remember what but I think it was about the eyes) but the original uploader was annoyed at their cat was removed. The edit and temporary ban note had to explain the issue to them like a naughty child.

Question it on the discussion page. I wouldn't always expect it to be fixed but there's no harm in questioning the inclusion of something irrelevant in case it gets a ball rolling.

even Wikipe-tan isn't allowed to wear skirts anymore

Im a faggot btw. Hey is there any cock around?

If I wrote a thesis paper and needed to illustrate a point with a human figure, I would definitively consider a B/W manga drawing for a lot of fields, though it's only my nr 2 pick (nr 1 pic would maybe be an old-timey-but-realistic newspaper-like drawing. I would never use the globohomo art style).

Wiki-cucked

nobody pressed X

Poor Wikipe-tan.

unless you're writing a paper on aerodynamics and use big anime titties as a reference

cope, reminder that lolicon & shotacon is already considered CP and you can be put on a sex offender registry for it
“Coroners and Justice Act 2009” that made the creation or possession of illustrated pornography of minors illegal in the UK 14 years ago.
legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2009/25/contents
Under the PROTECT Act of 2003, any obscene image that depicts a minor qualifies as child pornography in the United States. The scope of the act isn’t limited to photos of children; it also covers illustrations and renderings of fictional children. This means that possessing any image or video depictions of an identifiable child in an obscene situation could land you in legal trouble.
govinfo.gov/features/PROTECT-act
Since a reform of the French penal code, introduced in 2013, producing or distributing drawings that represent aminoraged less than 15 years old is considered the same as producing real child pornography and is punishable by up to five years' imprisonment and a €75,000 fine, even if the drawings are not meant to be distributed.
