No anon, in KG Takumi doesn't give her the mask cause he figures that would make her a target for the others in the invader hunt (which eventually the others do go after her), and in Mystery X forces her to kill someone by getting her detonator, the mask just has self-contained breathing

If you want cope as to why it goes off the same route as the extremely story locked route SF this is the same route where Hiruko gives Sirei upgrades to the brainwashing machine, which is why everyone is so dumb compared to every other route (Nozomi almost breaks out of it during one fight). As Takumi and her lose their memories, she wouldn't know to not stop Sirei from brainwashing him, so Romance is actually Casual-lite where what we're witnessing is Takumi's POV from the brainwashing. This is also why there's still invader fights on this route.

It’s a bit bloated at times and some things such as exploration and the gift machine could have been either wonderfully excluded or be reworked into something less tedious. But the writing (ignoring the localization) has purpose and it hits. The actual gameplay also could have been overhauled.
