Saves an entire world of sentient beings from total annihilation

saves an entire world of sentient beings from total annihilation

Maelle is not the hero we deserved, but the hero we needed.

Im not letting a disabled girl indulge in drugs to cope with reality

If I had a little canvas world of my own I'd commit so many atrocities.

shill thread
shit game for faggots

still bumps thread anyway

little anon on his "i hate popular things" phase

Fatlusbro, your insulin resistance..?

mfw wriggers ITT

Verso: Guys... I just wanna die
Reinor: Don't worry my son, I'll pull the plug
Aline: Noooooo! Not mah boi!
Crea: lolwut?
Alicia/Maelle: Nooooooo muh Vidya gaem escapism on my brother's console!!!

Retard audience: The painting people are REEAAAAAL, killing Verso = GENOCIIIIIIIDE

Non-Retards: Pull the plug on Verso, let that man die and touch fucking grass, make your own damn canvas world

That's not Maelle, that's Alicia.
Maelle died during the mass gommage. All that's left of her are memories in the mind of an edgy crippled teenager with god powers.

I miss Gustave and Maelle.

b-but my frends in the canva :(

Then Verso is also fake and we can ignore him

Moooom! Dad said it's MY turn to mind rape Verso

1.jpg - 765x862, 121.36K

she idenfities as maelle you bigot

Escapism is bad

Painted Verso (made by his mom btw)is fake, yes, but his soul is still in his canvas (That his mom and sister refuse to let go of) and this nigga just wants his family (with the exception of Reinor and Crea) to pull the plug on him

Versofags: nooo none of it is real its all VR

also versofags: nooo dont let the person i said that isnt real suffer

????

81648.jpg - 554x554, 11.73K

Verso is the only one of the painted to actually have a shard of his real life counterpart's soul.

I love you so much brother, that after killing you in the fire that I started (because all my attacks are fire based), I'm now going to deny you rest, death or any reprieve; also, I need you to play the fucking piano like a circus monkey

Alicia is batshit wicked and the side content only further confirms it.

why do you have to manually forward each dialogue, it makes it hard to eat din din while watching the characters talk

That's a macroagression against Maelle, dare I say it, it's rape.
Alicia is raping Maelle.

But after the gommage, Maelle was a completely different charater from the first part of the game, I didn't recognize her and generally found her to be an annoying cunt.

Filtered. Maelle and Alicia are the same.

Lol this retard lacks some serious reading comprehension.

PAINTED VERSO is aware that he's not real
Verso's actual soul remains painting in the canvas (the young boy) against his will

Maelle

Painted girl who lived 16 years amongst friends and family

Alicia

Dormant demigod who "prefers Maelle, actually" and does evil shit in her name.

Maelle could have unpainted him and still saved the painted world. He deserved his fate though.

PAINTED VERSO is aware that he's not real

If all his thoughts and emotion are fake then his opinion doesn't matter.

PAINTED VERSO is aware that he's not real

LMAO How the fuck is "he" suffering then?

Of course his thoughts don't matter, because we're talking about the REAL verso whose life is held hostage in the canvas by his crazy sister and mom

Remember when i was a kid 16 years ago?

Yeah well that actually wasnt me, that was a different person!

lel

Maelle isn't Alicia and the retards who sided with the latter need to stop coping. Maelle is dead after Act 2. Painted Verso has all of Verso's memories and isn't him. The same is true of Alicia having Maelle's memories.

the people are real!

All the people were already dead when the choice was being made. She could literally just do what she wanted to do in another canvas, she just couldn't let verso go.

they aren't real its escapism

but Verso matters even though he also isn't real!

The retarded logic from Versofags is hilatious

She's secretly working for the writers and wants to destroy the painters. That was her true endgame

Verso is the only one whose actual soul is tethered to the canvas. If your heirarchy is followed he has ultimate say over everyone, painted and painters.

LMAO How the fuck is "he" suffering then?

Are you following the story?
Were you part of the "No child left behind" program?

Verso's canvas has a piece of his soul that remained after he died, that soul is what gives everything in his canvas "life"

His family is using his canvas to grieve in, Reinor is erasing everything (Gormmage) to try and force mom out because she can't let go of her son, and is killing herself in the process of staying inside the canvas world.

Maelle is going down the same path as her mother because she can't let go of her guilt for getting Verso killed and her deformity irl, so instead of making her own canvas, she's also hijacking Verso's and thus keeping him (young boy aka his soul) painting forever.

The only people with common sense and knows how to let Verso go are his dad and older sister.

You can't be aware that you are not real. If you have awareness, then you must have thoughts and feelings. Thoughts and emotions do not exist in an inauthentic manner, they are either real or they are not thoughts/emotions. The only thing that's not real here is your brain.

I think the story sucks. I lost interest when it just became entirely about Verso. The characters don't develop, and neither does the world. It just reacts to Verso and everyone in it bends over to do what he wants and the nigger still cries about how hard his fantasy life is.

Because reality is oh so worth it, right?

Versofags literally have zero self awareness.

All the people were already dead

Painted Alicia has a whole scene/speech about how happy "those who know not that they are not" are.

he who guards the truth with lies

I like how Renoir knew he son was a piece of shit person

"It is God's pleasure that you should suffer, and whether you like it or not, you must bear it"

I like the game but I agree that everything after Act 2 dropped the ball; saved overwhelmingly by solid direction, acting, dialogue and music. But the underlying logic of Verso and Alicia still walking side by side and Lune and Sciel just casually going along for the adventure felt intentionally glossed over.

Okay, ignorance is bliss. So what?

Maybe the real emotionally stunted 16 year old girl was the Verso we met along the way.

Maellejunkies are escapism fanatic AGP troons who self-insert onto a fictional 16 year old (x2) girl

What's so hard to understand? Verso matters. Everyone else doesn't. His painting, his world, his life, his soul, his rules. Get the fuck out and repaint the Lumerians in your own Canvas you fucking retards.

I’d say reality is worth it, yeah

IMG_0136.jpg - 283x178, 9.59K

Alicia is the protagonist, Verso is a lead character but the story begins and ends with Maelle. She's the first character in the credits. Her theme is the game's main theme song, and the first and last tracks in the OST are her two names.

It just reacts to Verso and everyone in it bends over to do what he wants

Uhhhhhhhhh
It's his painting, that's literally how it works

why did they make the demiurge so cute?

But the underlying logic of Verso and Alicia still walking side by side and Lune and Sciel just casually going along for the adventure felt intentionally glossed over

they all wanted to defeat the paintress

It just reacts to Verso and everyone in it bends over to do what he wants and the nigger still cries about how hard his fantasy life is.

BECAUSE IT'S HIS FUCKING CANVAS.
What don't you Maellefags understand???

Now burn your face, throat, and eyeball, and then have your precious older brother killed and your other family members have constant spergouts and then tell me it's worth it.

Alicia doesn't care when Verso admits he let Gustave die to manipulate her and wants to spend the rest of her life in a painting with Verso. She's a side character.

For me™, the main character will always be Gustave fighting to save the scheduled end of the world and protect his sisters.

Maelle would hate Alicia-Maelle

I won't deny I'd like to insert myself in her.

No shit. I said the story sucks not that it didn't make sense.

Any of you guys beat Sprong yet? Any general strats or is it just git gud and parry? About what level should I fight him?

Verso, real Verso, wants his canvas to be preserved and loves all the creations in there, Lumiere included. Painted Verso is not real according to Versofags so his influence on real Verso's soul in the end is wrong and should not be allowed, since Maelle is the only real person in the canvas at that point, and as the paintress only her opinion matters. Sorry Versofags, this is what your own logic leads to.

She would. The entire scene where they bury Gustave shows how much of a LARPer Alicia-Maelle was. Maelle respected the dead and knew that no matter what happened, you have to move forward and face reality.

This is like the equivalent of your beloved IRL daughter effectively killing herself to save her characters in a Gacha game.

Verso willing to genocide his entire reality to save his little sister

Based

It's not out of freedom of will, it's because his mom programmed him like that.
0 and 1s, if-then, or something like that.

yes, the game ends in act 1

Painted Verso is the only person who truly understands how real Verso feels and was the only fucking person in the game to even ASK if he was tired of all this shit. You know how the soul of Verso responded to the question? Yeah. Shut the fuck up, imbecile. You and your ilk are the same type of people who will destroy yourselves in your delusions.

It's not his sister.

He fell for the lies

Charisma really is the most OP stat.

837344522.png - 1248x1824, 3.69M

My chest is burnt, my. Throat and face are scared from a dog mauling and I just lost my mom in October and my twin brother in December on Christmas. Reality is still worth it

Total painter death. Kill painters. Behead painters. Roundhouse kick a painter into the concrete. Slam dunk the painter into the trashcan. Crucify painters. Defecate on a painter's canvas. launch painters into the Sun. Stir fry painters into a wok. Toss painters into active volcanos. Urinate on painters' brushes. Judo throw painters into a wood chipper. Twist painters heads off. Report painters to the canvas exterminator. Karate chop painters in half. Curb stomp painters. Trap painters in the desert. Crush painters in the printing press. Liquefy painters in a vat of acetone. Impale painters with fountain pens. Lobotomize painters. Mandatory recall for painting sets. Grind painters in the garbade disposal. Drown painters in hot ink. Vaporize painters with a plasma torch. Nuke painters. Kick old painters from the window. Turn painters into glue. - he wrote

just git gud and parry

yes
I also used the Lune build where she gets 100% crits into all elements and then use Mayhem or that other one that requires all the elements.

Beat Sprong first playthrough with Verso, Lune and Monoco, get parrying you fucking scrub.

Sciel/Verso/Maelle. Stack burns with Confuso/Corpeso and use Pyrolyse. When you have a lot of burn, watch him die to Burning Canvas. Sciel uses All Set/Dark Cleansing to refresh/Intervention on Verso.

Painted Verso understands nothing because he is not real, nothing he thinks or says matters or has any importance. Those are your words, not mine.

He did it because his family wouldn't take him off life support, his sister was just in the way.

if this was true he would've sided with Renoir

Renoir broke
Aline hated
Renoir, helping, but forever will lose his son
Verso damned, Maelle
Eternity re-illuminates itself
Verso will tear the canvas
Maelle, sad and dying
Living love
Alicia will tear the canvas
Renoir cried
Verso damned
Alina locked up

youtube.com/watch?v=n1-DSn_6eRQ

Missing the point on purpose in order to argue for his retardation

Maellefags continue to be mentally ill. You Ignore that Verso holds the memories of the real Verso. He is not only aware, but he is the only person who has the right to decide the fate of the Canvas. He is the only person within the Canvas who is more than just a painting.

Technically he did after seeing what was becoming of his crazy grieving mother and when Alicia was having her spergout to keep him from stopping his younger self from painting

The best ending is versos
In the future nothing stops maelle from recreating Lumiere. It will not be the same but it can be a healthy way for her to move on and preserve Versos memory without having to torture him and reject reality.

Alicia is made for big writer dick

Maellefags: NOOOOOOOOO REINOR WONT LET HER MAKE A CANVAS, LET HER KEEP VERSO'S CHILDHOOD CANVAS NOOOOOOOO!

ma-ill fags think the best way to save a world that suffers thanks to methhead painters who can't cope with loss is to let a methhead painter kid who can't cope with loss be in charge of it

This completely ignores the Lumierans though, which makes it boring.

yeah, I really miss my boy Gustave, I guess Charlie Cox is too expensive for Sandfall

Sciel?

Slut, deserves oblivion

Lune?

Bitch, deserves oblivion

The Lumerians were never meant to be. There is nothing outside of Lumiere. Their existence was doomed from the get-go because Al*ne and Al*cia are both mentally ill retards.

They have money now. Give us the Gustave route

I dare you to say that bout Monoco, bitch.

Aliciafags are the biggest retards. Or just lonely children.

Bad father, deserves oblivion

versocels be like

they have a meeting recently, tho only with Jennifer English and Ben Starr, so I guess that's not happening soon, tho I wouldn't mind being surprised

Mentally stunted and are too empathetic for their own good. I don't say it as an insult, but they really are the type of people to be vulnerable to shit like Communism and being a tranny.

The sheer fact that an entire world of sentient beings is worth more than candy-ass Verso's happiness or some asshole demigods drives Versofags to tears.

All good things come to an end, that doesn't mean ignoring them isn't boring.

464279458.png - 1248x1824, 2.69M

tfw no secret Gustave third ending that bridges the two extremes

sentient beings

lol...
Lmao even.

Here's another CANVAS PEOPLE ARE REAL!!! fag

They AREN'T real because... they just AREN'T, ok?

At least use the fucking spoiler tags.

based cunny god

Yes, sentient beings created from a magical canvas are indeed real. Whats the problem?

Versosisters... emergency discord meeting...!

I wish budding redhaired french girls were real.

Huge ass mansion with a prime view of the Eiffel Tower

Can't afford to give their daughter an eyepatch or false eye

The Dessendres are awful.

your big dick dick step-oni-chan isn't real, Alicia..

179384930394.jpg - 682x774, 75.59K

NOOOOOOO
I DON'T WANT TO PLAY THE PIANO
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

>You Ignore that Verso holds the memories of the real Verso. He is not only aware, but he is the only person who has the right to decide the fate of the Canvas. He is the only person within the Canvas who is more than just a painting.

Has to completely ignore the existence of Maelle for his argument to have a modicum of sense

Embarrassing desu.

If you really think about it, Maelle's ending actually has no downsides
option 1: she fixes the fracture and goes home, everyone happy
option 2: she stays too long, grows weaker, Renoir comes back and btfo her, she's still fine

Verso's ending is the odd one as it doesn't give anyone any chances, just a complete destruction

In Verso's ending, we don't actually see Lune gommage.

That's why the writer won.
Anon Babble >>>> Anon Babble simple as

Incredibly rich and live in a world where magic exists

Cant afford to magically fix her skin, grow her eye or grow her vocal cords back

Seriously, what the fuck was their problem?

Maelle is a mistake born from Alicia's incompetence and died at the end of act 2. Like everyone else. It took Alicia wanting to play god immediately to bring Sciel and Lune back. Then she proceeded to desecrate the corpses of previous Expeditioners by reanimating them like zombies.

You're a moron lol

Why is painted Verso such a flip flopping bitch? Look at this shit I just found during my post game clean up.

Their genocide is unfortunate but a necessity. They really would've been miserable either way because Maelle ending does NOT paint a good picture

They painted humans don't even eat. That should be the bare minimum to be considered sentient.

Option 3: Her brother's soul is still bound to the canvas that she has now locked herself in and keeps him from dying, rendering him her plaything forever.

Holy shit, versocucks are getting absolutely destroyed ITT

Your outlook on the world changes as time passes by. Are you stupid?

Having memories of a dead person doesn't make him any more real than people who are made naturally within the painting by being born. If anything, painted Verso is less real than the average person in Lumiere who is a unique individual with their own life and independent thoughts rather than what was painted onto them.
Just admit you put yourself in a very basic logic trap and have no way out. Either the creations in the paintings are real and supporting painted Verso is the most monstrous diabolical shit imaginable, or the creations in the paintings are not real and therefore only Maelle's decision should be chosen by default since she is the one real person in the canvas.

Wouldn't that be something.

860988207.png - 479x1043, 637.91K

The endings were a test from the writers to see if you can cope with grief and move on.

Aliciafags you have failed spectacularly. You will be doomed to the cycle.

LITERALLY DYING is preferable to... a world where you can have a normal enough life

I want you to play a game on Youtube right now, Anon Babble. Find anyone who argues for the painted people of Lumiere and look at their profile picture. I guarantee you it's almost always someone with an anime avatar.

Then she proceeded to desecrate the corpses of previous Expeditioners by reanimating them like zombies

Typical Versofag, spineless and dishonest. Doesn't your entire argument hinge on the painting beings being lesser and therefore disposable? So which one is it, little bro? Do they matter or don't they?

There is no genocide. They can be created and recreated at will. Alicia and Aline need to get over it. There is no person called Maelle.

Not after the canvas is gone

Doesn't your entire argument hinge on the painting beings being lesser and therefore disposable?

it undeniably is

An entire expedition died from eating poisonous mushrooms

look up nightskyprince

see this

mallefags are brownoid

HAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA

Alicia and Aline need to get over it.

NO U! I'll grieve as long as I wasn't at the expense of my husband's sanity and son's soul!

They're not phantoms. They're not ghosts. They're not a figment of your imagination. They are unintelligent, barely programmed golems, that Maelle proved can be controlled and enslaved to behave according to her wishes. They are less sentient and less believable as autonomous living creatures than the toys in Toy Story.

People that like video games like things like anime

I dont get it. What does that accomplish?

Versofag timeline

first it's "well the family isn't that bad" (they are)

then it's "life as a cripple isn't that bad" (it is)

then it's "well they aren't real anyway!" (they are)

then it's "magic escapism is bad inherently, actually" (it isn't)

then it's "it's actually a moral failing to side with alicia at all!" (it isn't)

Then she proceeded to desecrate the corpses of previous Expeditioners by reanimating them like zombies.

But shouldnt that matter because they arent real?
;)

Alicia claims to care and value the canvas world, yet makes one decision after another that says otherwise. She's another selfish person who is there to paint her idealized world for herself. That is the essence of the argument. She has no right to continue the fight when it isn't about liberation. It's about control. Her world, her rules with Painted Verso by her side. That's all she wants.

I can't remember if it was for sustenance. I think they were just being good guests and listened to whatever Esquie told them to do.

Maellejunkie insane babble

Best girl

(me)
Also there was another expedition that ate Nevrons. Doesn't seem like they have even the most basic survival instincts to not eat things that have a very high likelihood of killing them.

The problem with your conclusion re: Maelle is that she's a freaking paintress, she can just stop vandalizing Verso's painting and go make her own painted world where she could be a 10/10 eternal cunny surrounded by giga chads. But she doesn't, she just keeps making a mockery of whatever's left of Verso's soul.

I say we have a vote. Every sentient being who would be directly impacted by destruction of the canvas gets a vote on what to do with it - Verso or Maelle ending. So the Painter family, and then every sentient being in the canvas. That should be a fair way of deciding things.

It is never stated you can't recreate the same ideas in different canvases. Alicia is a crack whore and needs to detox.

Maellefags defending their necromancer psycho bitch when she can just pain another world but refuses to do so

LOL

I didn't murder my kid, I can just have a new one.

Don't say the M**lle word. It gives them justification. Crackwhore's name is Alicia.

Why is she so MEAN??

condemn them to an endless war and suffering

thanks, i guess?

More like

Yeah I stole my neighbor's kid, make a kid of my own? Why the hell would I do that?

But what about all the people in the canvas?
Uh huh. Very likely. I am sure many would like to risk that hypothesis. (multiple things about how chroma works seems to say the opposite btw)

I don't have to mourn my lost loved ones, I can just remake them.

person who is good at Painting

"stop being a LARPfag Alicia"

person who sucks at painting

"THESE SCRIBBLES ARE MY LOVED ONES"

She doesn't have a high opinion of Alicia.

who is the fading woman? Aline? Clea?

Clea

Clea, the real one, not painted

She hates parasocialfucks

Stupid question, but is this in the Flying Manor?

It's Clea, young boy is Verso (he still likes trains), fading man is Reinor.

ditches her loving family to save her glorified ant colony

It's clearly Clea.
The fading woman you see in the main story areas though are Aline.

Yeah I [prevented my neighbor's kid from dying and adopted them], make a kid of my own? Why the hell would I do that?

Sounds quite psychopathic.

Endless Tower, the Flying Manor has painted Clea who is a zombie with no dialog

clea is a cunt, she could have stopped all this if she gave a shit

Based neechan

No it's the Endless Tower

The meaner she is, the hotter she gets.
Something is wrong with me. I immediately liked Clea the moment I heard her bitchy tone ordering Alicia to come downstairs. Then she just talked down to her the entire time, my dick couldn't be harder

Thanks lads

Clea already did it once and she's tired of being the mediator, don't blame her though.

Maelle is just an irresponsible, immature teenage girl.
She's not giving a fuck about Verso or his feelings. She's just doing what she feels like.

They are unintelligent, barely programmed golems

you described majority of humans

YOU NEED TO BE WITH US ALICIA YOU BITCH!

WE NEED YOU TO BE A CRIPPLE SAFE AND SOUND SUFFERING IN OUR MANSION SO WE CAN FIGHT OUR BLOOD FEUD!

WHAT THE FUCK, WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU'RE NOT COMING BACK? YOU'RE STAYING WITH THE LESSER SUBHUMAN HOMONCULI, EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE FEELINGS AND WILL LITERALLY DIE WITHOUT YOU?

UGH ALICIA THIS IS WHY OUR BROTHER FUCKING DIED, BECAUSE OF THIS BULLSHIT RIGHT HERE!

how?

Clea is the whole reason why Renoir was able to slowly win. She also killed Expedition 0 and is the one who told the painted family the truth. She's been making moves in her father's favor.

you've had almost 3 weeks bro, shouldn't be on Anon Babble until you're done

I'm not even gonna read your söyrant

Verso on his death bed: "Sis I'm dying...Please pull the plug so that I may rest"

Alicia: "BAWWW MUH FACE, MUH EYE, MUH THROAT, MUH FEELINGS, FUCK YOU VERSO!"

Nice juvenile understanding of the story.

SAAAR DO NOT REDEEM THE CANVAS SAAAR

Oh, do enlighten me then.

fun fact: studies say that over 90% of Versofags are incel beta cucks

EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE FEELINGS

Do they really though, since all the people in the canvas outside of Esquie and Monoco (created by verso) and Francois (made by Clea) are made by Aline, based on people she knew with their memories?

They'll still die (they already have), Maelle is just forcing them to live a couple more years while she overdoses on paint fumes. When Maelle eventually dies the canvas will be destroyed regardless, at least Verso's ending lets Maelle move on with her life, and doesn't force their parents to lose a second child.

You are a pathetic worm looking for a gotcha moment, because you don't live in reality. There is no world where Renoir's stance can be argued against.

I want DLC where you fight the real Clea.

Unless it's a fight outside of the Canvas, you don't win. Renoir wasn't exactly at the peak of his powers when we fought him. A Clea fight would be unwinnable.

literally no argument

lmao

time to put the cathars to the sword again

If the fact that they'll still die (after who knows how long in time dilated years) is the issue, then you have to realize that Alicia will still die too. If they're gonna die anyway, why bother? You see how stupid of an argument that is?

Maelle is just forcing them to live

Yes, I'm sure every painted person will choose death over a continued existence, most certainly.

BUT PAPA IM HAPPY BEING A JUNKIE IN MY FANTASY WORLD

Father literally watches his daughter throw fits while dying outside of the Canvas

This is who you're arguing for. You don't win this argument, because you have a child's mentality if you cannot see how much her father loves her.

When the moment came to choose between Alicia and Verso, everyone in Lumiere was already gone except Sciel and Lune. So the argument of whether they were "real" or not (personally, I believe they were real) was moot to me. That's my two cents anyway.

When Maelle eventually dies

She won't die wtf, they won't leave her in there for years, she'll grow weak quickly and then Renoir/Clea will have 0 trouble expelling her

If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, I'm willing to bet it's a duck. Sure, maybe they're just mindless golem automata. But I highly doubt that.

Full power Clea won't forcefully pull sissy out of the painting after total writer death

She really got the short end of the stick.

3939521930.png - 1824x1248, 3.28M

Maelleschizos believe it's immoral to intervene in your loved ones' suicide attempt

Loving her doesn't mean he's not a genocidal bastard. I get that you forgave your dad for beating you every day because he obviously loved you and that just built character, but loving someone doesn't mean you're right. It doesn't even mean you're close to being right.

After act 2's reveals, I thought the ending would be "Alicia dies irl but keeps on living as a painted person inside the canvas" since she's technically both Alicia and Maelle, the actual endings are pretty lame, though the piano scene is cool because fuck Verso

That's exactly right. There were only two people left from the city, and they shouldn't have been brought back to begin with if you believe that they are real. Playing with people's lives so easily because you want them back goes against what life and death stands for. Alicia is in the wrong.

CHADters will kill the rest of the Painterscum and Maelle will live her last moments happily in the fantasy world while everyone else seethes.

Clea made for big writer cock

They all get repainted in the Maelle ending. Some people can't be repainted, others can, and it's all based on circumstance. The circumstances to repaint everyone in Maelle's ending seem to be met.

what life and death stands for

lmao fuck life and death they're pussies and ruin my personal happiness

Seems to be an expiration date on chroma, since she mentions the old expeditions chroma is not "fresh".

1030641729.png - 1824x1248, 3.27M

Her brother's soul is still bound to the canvas

So? Verso put it there himself when he painted it.

More like simon's cock sleeve

Versofags believe their actions shouldn't have consequences and any price is to be paid to clean up their mistakes

Ok but I believe in my friends so she can't beat that.

Nice projection, you cumstain. Your insistence and focus on the fantastical nature of the canvas world, where life and death is thrown out of the window because the painter can just will everything back if there's enough Chroma around makes it about as meaningful as a picture book. They don't matter in the slightest when you step into the shoes of Renoir, who does carry the burden of having to clean up the mess of his wife in creating people who should not have existed to begin with, as all it did was tarnish the world their son created to fulfill her fantasies. His daughter's life, the one that he'd be seeing slowly die if he doesn't intervene will always be the priority if she follows in the exact same footsteps as their mother. His love for her will always outweigh the existence of the canvas people, because their family can create countless worlds. They don't matter, anon. The painters hold supreme authority over the lives of the painted.

At least you're fucking honest about it. This is probably the crux of every single Maellefag's arguments.

She'll just erase your painted friends. What now anon

Thank God people like you are not the arbiters of morality with this grandstanding and posturing. Alicia did nothing wrong besides allow Verso the capacity to die. That fuck should LIVE for all eternity.

Based Clea

Versofags are just sad moralfags trying to display their supposed superiority. Everyone who mattered died at the end of act 2. Verso is an utter cunt so him suffering means nothing to me
Alicia isn't Maelle so her happiness doesn't matter either.

where life and death is thrown out of the window because the painter can just will everything back if there's enough Chroma around makes it about as meaningful as a picture book

I'm sorry there's not enough stakes for you, psychopath.

They don't matter in the slightest when you step into the shoes of Renoir

And why should I care about this asshole demigod who plays with the lives of sentient beings like putty?

His daughter's life, the one that he'd be seeing slowly die if he doesn't intervene will always be the priority if she follows in the exact same footsteps as their mother. His love for her will always outweigh the existence of the canvas people, because their family can create countless worlds. They don't matter, anon. The painters hold supreme authority over the lives of the painted.

Unfortunately I disagree with the notion that an individual life doesn't matter because it's easily replaced. Renoir can go fuck himself and find a new daughter.

/lig/ would win

you have to respect the sanctity of natural concepts we would do away with in a heartbeat if we could revive our loved ones and each other because... FUCK YOU that's why!

fuck. life. and. death.
they're pusssies and ruin my personal happiness

Remember Maelle. the future of lumiere is more important than an individual life

So fuck that nigga verso up

Based Gustave.

I'M REPORTING THIS THREAD TO THE FBI.

DEI infested game, avoid at all cost

we were joking when we called marche the villain. marche was right. verso was right.

saves an entire world of sentient beings from total annihilation

She prolongs their existence for few more decades before she dies and Renoir destroys the canvas once and for all.
Lumiere was never meant to exist and it's doomed no matter what.

My hero!!

Everyone got to live full lives

So she really did save them huh

She won't die, Renoir will come back and pull her out once she's weakened.

Did you forget the time dilation part?

Playing with a controller, I noticed randomly the controller would vibrate harder when in the Manor. Did anyone else notice this? The first time I noticed it was finding Verso's room and it happened a few other times. I don't know if there's a secret lore reason or my controller was being weird

nigga it's the vibration when a door opened

WriterCHADS... if you're listening WriterCHADS... genocide the Paintercucks. Allow Lumiere to exist as long as possible.

Clea's already gunned down writerfags with a ppsh, sorry bro

That makes sense, but weird I only noticed it a few times. I guess you don't open many doors though and almost all are isolated in the Manor.

Except the kids that will only be a few years old when they get their final gommage.

And he still erases the canvas.

It will be decades in the painting. Renoir had decades(possibly hundreds of canvas years) of experience. He was inside for 67 canvas years and was already crumbling.
Alicia had no previous experience and has already been inside for 16 years, there's no way she makes it to 60.

I'm sorry there's not enough stakes for you, psychopath.

They aren't real, anon. But you know that it's worse than that. They were slapped onto a Canvas that should have been left well alone. They were never meant to be.

And why should I care about this asshole demigod who plays with the lives of sentient beings like putty?

It isn't just him. It's the whole family. It's any Painter. They are gods. You not giving a shit about him does not matter. Your humanitarian argument for Lumiere's inhabitants plays second fiddle to a life that holds more value to a Painter. Again, you are being too sentimental and have gotten attached to a world that isn't real. You refuse to understand that the ramifications of Alicia's health deteriorating results in the painting being destroyed by Renoir.

Unfortunately I disagree with the notion that an individual life doesn't matter because it's easily replaced. Renoir can go fuck himself and find a new daughter.

You and your ilk can go fuck yourself and make up your own fanfiction where Lumiere is its own world without any interference from the Painters.

Does the game give you a hint on finding the two hidden upgrade items in the manor? I get shooting the mirror because it was big and somewhat obvious, but how were you supposed to know one was hiding behind a portrait?

PS1 era secrets, anon. You don't unless you are told about it through word of mouth, or see it online. That's how it was with secrets.

The dog room is unfair, yes, but the bathroom mirror is cracked and you can see empty space behind the cracks. I wish there were more puzzles personally, the whole section starting from the kitchen (via Gestral Village) was a lot of fun.

Sure, but that type of game design isn't common anymore. I guess that's another thing you could say that feels inspired by Dark Souls.

There's one mansion door that leaves you in a room where the only way out is through a hole in the wall that exits to the entrance hall. If you look at the spot where you come out you see it's covered by a painting.
After that I tried to jump into every painting, that's how I found Monoco's room.

I wonder if I found that room because that doesn't found familiar. I thought I found all the entrances in the world and unlocked all/most of the doors, but I guess I missed some.

i think the consensus is that philosophically maelles ending is not that bad but the game was too heavyhanded in its presentation. there are lots of plusses to the maelle ending that wasnt really shown

Remember Maelle. the future of lumiere is more important than an individual life

Very neat, except Gustave himself was ready to say fuck the mission to save Maelle. He only stopped when Lune talked him out of it and even then he didn't answer her question on what was more important, family or the mission.

basé and red-pillé

Yeah the writers clearly wanted to make you feel bad for saving Lumiere, that was their main goal, not the logic and reason.

For everyone siding with Verso I get it but isn't Maelle a Christ figure?

God paints all of creation into the world

Devil lures them into death

Child is born to the realm of humanity and is sacrificed for it

Child is now God

It's a tough aspect but this game is just like every other JRPG plot out there where you have to "destroy" god or remake the world or whatever.

Nah, she's a dumb kid playing dollhouse, many other characters tell her exactly this.

I side with Verso because I don't think of this story as the struggle between a parent world and a fictional world.
I see this as a family drama, and choosing to force painter Verso to keep painting when he told Painted Verso he wants to stop is unethical to me.

file.png - 1913x381, 1.34M

Maellefags hate this one scene.

She's from Paris.

She has the highest IQ of the whole family.

I genuinely think what ending you choose is whether you're a parent or have a good relationship with your family or not. I was completely on board with Renoir and was glad the game let me side with him and Verso's viewpoint.

The genocide argument falls a bit flat when you consider that they all already died when Aline was forced out of the canvas. At least say that it's about whether or not to reverse a genocide, not committing one.

The Verso ending is still saying that it was worth genociding the canvas for the sake of their family, even if it already happened, it's still saying it was the right thing to do.

I don't want to generalize too much but when I discussed the endings in the usual normalfag spheres I think it's no coincidence that the people who vehemently sided with Maelle are also redditors and brown people.

Is that what's written on his grave? "Genocide is based"? You people project a lot of headcanon into these relatively simple endings, my god.

Alright, enough of the memes no bullshit. Is this game actually good or not? You guys have had multiple threads daily for weeks.

Rather, it's saying that it's the least evil choice since everyone is able to move on.

"Escapism is bad!", cried the pretentious writer through the medium of videogames

Correct.
Don't look to vidya for escapism, only momentary entertainment

People who are losers side with Alicia (Maelle is dead). Anyone with principles and reason choose Verso.

"I don't know what escapism means!", cried the brown-skinned neet through his favela

So is Maelle actually the main character

Why's the hair white again? Besides aesthetics lol?

Gustave is the protagonist of Act 1 then dies. Maelle is the protagonist of Act 2 then dies. Verso is the protagonist of Act 3 then dies or, if youtool the path of retards, is tortured to death by an evil bitch.

there is no difference between playing video games for a while each day and being a completely addicted gooner who quits his job and cuts off all contact to his family to jack off in VR for 12 hours a day

I would say that role is shared between Maelle and Verso, but if you consider that she's in the game from the start, then yes.

If you play video games a couple of hours a week it's entertainment.
If you play video games to not have to deal with the problems in your life it is escapism.
If you play The Sims for 16 hours a day it is addiction.

it's only torture for Verso because of the rest of his family taking his painting and shitting it up with Nevrons and Gommages and their family bullshit

How do you respond to this without sounding mad?

hes right.png - 1683x785, 906.8K

hmm, these two endings are both tragic and compelling, what a memorable way to end this story!

YOU'RE A RETARDED NIGGER IF YOU CHOSE ENDING A, ONLY TRUE GIGACHADGODS PICK ENDING B!

How much longer will we have this kind of "discussion"?

Ngl, the act 2 reveal was a bit deflating. when I bought this game I was hoping the world and lore would be as creative and engrossing as Elden Ring, but "it's all fake dude, just go home" and also "the lore reason X exists? family member Y painted that".

The post-game is especially hollow. You finally get the flying ability and can access the whole world, yet it feels dead. And the extremely depressing overworld song doesn't help either. I'm just sad.

Leave painting

You are mute, badly burned, your brother is dead and you are involved in a secret war with other reality warpers

Stay in painting

You are fit and healthy, surrounded by people you love and no one wants to hurt you or said people, and all this costs is a part of your brothers soul, whose woes you can ease with your godlike powers

I assumed him exhaling and finally playing the fucking piano is him giving in. And also that the IRL family is cooked.

Gustav is the main character in act 1.
Maelle is the main character in act 2.
Verso/Alicia are the main characters in act 3.

leave to grab a beer

your dad deletes your Minecraft world

You didn't play the game.

verso was right and vindicated

stop grieving and move on

He was being a little stupid here. He knew that they were going to destroy the canvas.
But yeah if she was looking for a way to cope with being somewhat disabled, she could always use other canvasses.
This particular one was ruining their family.

It's genuinely VERY good. The story starts off with a unique setting and shit is mysterious, then becomes more compelling when more things are revealed. Combat is great. At a glance, it's usual RPG shit except it has timed hits, parries, dodges, jumping to avoid attacks, and special counters for specific attack types. Each party member has a different gimmick/resource and they're all fun except Sciel's. Additionally, you can free aim and shoot enemy weak spots. Music is 10/10. My only complaint is the terrible minigames, but they're optional (but not really since they unlock swimsuits).

Verso's souls only wants to stop because of the drama

No, he wants to stop because he's been doing it for centuries when painting wasn't even his passion. He has to paint every change that happens in the canvas, fighting or not.

You got it all wrong, the acts are named 1: GUSTAVE, 2: VERSO, 3: MAELLE in this order.

Easy

I know I am going to die. I choose to stay.

all this costs is a part of your brothers soul

No anon, painters leave bits of their souls to animate their paintings, it's business as usual. Renoir and Aline painted "hundreds".

Verso Giga-Chad side profile

Stay in VR

Your avatar is fit and healthy, surrounded by extremely sophisticated NPCs who act like they love you and can't hurt you or said people, and all this costs is a part of your brother's soul, against his explicit wishes and who you force to continue suffering until you die like 6 months later

Six months in the real world is a lifetime in the painting.

The only thing special about this particular Canvas is that it has the last bit of Verso's soul, right? What's stopping Aline or Alicia from just creating everything again wholecloth? They should be able to make yet another fake Verso using their own memories, right?

My only complaint is the terrible minigames

Volleyball was awful, but the others were perfectly fine imo. Not great, but not terrible either.

and all this costs is a part of your brothers soul

And your mother's life, which would likely kill your father as well. Clea probably won't care.

She saved my heart

acute.jpg - 3840x2160, 976.86K

The falling ball thing also made me fucking rage.

Aline is attached to the painting because it's Verso's painting and has a bit of him still inside, and Maelle because all her friends and (second) family are in there. Also she wants to neet herself to death in general because she's a cripple.

Verso is the focal subject of Act 2 but the PoV is primarily Maelle's, with all eyes being on Maelle in Act 3 thanks to her new hair, but from the perspective of Verso who realizes he needs to gank that bitch.

It's heavily implied that the reason painted Verso was a perfect copy was thanks to Verso's soul in the canvas. That's why they are hellbent on keeping it.

There are a bunch of plot holes like this, e.g. Renoir/Clea could've just opened the portal to the soul of the canvas (like Renoir did in the ending) and stopped the boy from painting, but they didn't because there would be no game otherwise.

This story is much more about the character drama than the background lore.

There's nothing really stopping them. The whole dilemma is about them losing themselves inside the canvas. Does Aline look like she wants to immediately do this all over again in the Verso ending, or does she look like she can finally start to move on? I believe it's the latter, but maybe some favela-dweller will correct me on that because the game doesn't explicitly tell you what will happen next.

it's not the same because...shut up ok?
there are a lot of things you just have to accept as truths in this game for whatever reason. stuff like

you'll die if you stay! (we don't really know that)

papa will burn the canvas when i leave! (maybe he wont?)

MAMAN WILL FIND THE CANVAS WHEREVER YOU HIDE IT (did you try moving it to a different fucking country you retard?)

there's many things like this.

DESU, only Clea has rights to the canvas.

I heard that a lot of people have issues with that one, but once you understand the pattern of it it's really not that bad.

Stop taking crystal meth

You have a chance to get over your addiction and grow as a person

Keep overdosing on crystal meth

Your body deteriorates even further as you retreat into the depths of your mind while your family grieves over your inevitable death

I like how paintings have a wireless signal to them that covers some unspecified but maybe significant distance.

Renoir and Clea didn't control the canvas at that time. Maybe pay attention to the story before you claim that there's plotholes.

grow into old cat lady with no kids because everyone sees you as the cripple that can't talk

no i think i'll stay in the canvas instead

Could the Writers or Painters handle the Prompters?

That's the big question. Alicia and Aline could just go and paint their own canvas with all the same people and live happily there. But they won't because they are too attached to the painted Verso who is linked with the real boy Verso's soul. It's pretty telling that in Maelle's ending, she locks boy Verso away and forces him to paint forever because it means painted Verso would live.

"Grow as a person"

You will be mute, in pain and an unwilling belligerent in a war and you will be happy

what's stopping me from smoking crack?

this. i related most with Clea in this story. i would've sad too if my brother is dead. but, i would be proud of him for dying to saved my lil sis. And i would remind my lil sis to locked the fuck in and motivated her to keep on living and have hopes. instead of drowning herself in VRchat with redditors

Verso gives his life to save Alicia after she was stupid enough to get tricked by Writers

Alicia goes and throws away her life to live in a VR

Nah, fuck her. Verso should've let her die in the fire, ungrateful bitch.

If smoking crack caused lifelike simulations you best believe i am snorting that shit

mute people should overdose on heroin

Every day you learn something new on Anon Babble.

I got to the top row easily a bunch using the right pegs, but the final center peg never cleared up before the right side balls started dropping and you don't have any dodge time that high. I got it eventually, but never got the pattern down.

painted Verso who is linked with the real boy Verso's soul

Headcanon...

If my animes, and even real life, have taught me anything it's that unless you are literally a quadriplegic or have a severe mental disability, as long as you are above a 3/10 women can pull any incel they want.

hanako.png - 621x441, 252.2K

Your kid died? So whats stopping you from just having another?

She's naive and stupid. Someone's going to end up fucking that empty eye socket anon. It's safer in the painting.

Menopause in this case. Or he can get another wife.

Someone's going to end up fucking that empty eye socket anon

ayo

Their kid did die and it's time they moved on. That's the point of the game. LARPing in fantasy world is just going to kill additional family members.

literally every anon here would be willing to marry crispy Alicia with the sole exception of the psychos into her crazy sister

Maelle.jpg - 1696x2048, 401.41K

Someone's going to end up fucking that empty eye socket anon

Why did you default to thinking this?

You can't fix a broken home

She's not just mute. She's also badly burned, arguably all the way down to her lungs which has implications for her longevity. And there is an entire group of people who want her and her family dead.

It's not just one thing, her outlook in the real world is bleak due to several issues.

This. I can fix her. Figuratively and literally. Her burn scars aren't even that bad. Just put an eyepatch over the hole and we're good. After that we can start learning sign language together.

If you picked Verso's ending this is what future Maelle is going to look like. You doomed her to to this fate.

Its time to move on by killing a world of sentient beings and you can make another world of sentient beings later

lmao

Because they live in France and there's a lot of violence over there

I think she only complained that her throat hurts, not her chest. If the implication was that her lifespan is fucked, writer would have stated it directly. Through Maelle, most likely. I don't buy it.

I can extend it to "people with severe problems should overdose on heroin" anon, it doesn't make the point more positive. She won't win a beauty contest, but it's not like she has turbo cancer either. She can move and think normally, that alone puts her way above a lot of other real life people where I'm certain you wouldn't advocate for suicide either.

Maelle moves on

Maelle finds out she has cancer

Maelle dies in 3 years

This is the life you forced on her

What's stopping Aline or Alicia from just creating everything again wholecloth? They should be able to make yet another fake Verso using their own memories, right?

The canvas is special because it's Verso's canvas and a piece of his soul is inside of it. Anything other than that will be pointless.
if the boy stop painting, the whole world will crumble. Verso's soul is the driving force of that world. If it's gone the painting would've been destroyed. like at the verso ending

If you want to ascribe sentience to them, go for it, but they're paintings. The game is about grief and acceptance. It's time Alicia stops LARPing and grieve IRL like a normal human.

The board lagged so I posted it twice
I'm going to paint over the double post and there's nothing you can do about it

Would you kill 100 dogs to save 1 human life?

Her canvas, her choice CHUDS

depends on the human

White people would kill 100 humans to save one dog (especially if black)

Did Maelle gain the ability of the writter at the end of the story? There was an achievement about gustave journal

eh.png - 512x512, 147.47K

Who wants that many coloreds or dogs?

I will never forget this game.

Let's say a 16 year old girl.

Maelle is for anal sex.

The "piece of soul" is just the sentimentality of him painting on it as a child. It has the same value as a piece of clothe a dead person used to wear that people refuse to toss away.

Alicia always liked books and presumably writing.
IIRC she has a typewriter in the manor.

I wouldn't advocate for a "traditional" suicide. That is, for example, shooting oneself.

But a lifetime inside a magical painting that you are in complete control of? That's an entirely different beast and I wouldn't be opposed to allowing people in severe circumstances to choose that over being forced to play the shitty hand they were dealt.

If you want to think they're not sentient, go for it, but they're real. The game is about a magical family that can create entire realities through paintings. It's time Verso stops LARPing and live in his world like a normal human.

The precious older brother that saved your life, has now lived like 100 more years and wants to die now because he realizes he will be forever stuck as a painting

NOOO BROKEN PEOPLE SHOULDN'T GRIEVE IIN THEIR OWN WAY

THEY NEED TO SUFFER IN THE REAL WORLD BECAUSE I SAID SO!!!

SOMETHING RETARDED ABOUT DRUG ADDICTS AND HEROIN

Verso fags, what is our counter to this new information? The heroin is SAVING Maelle's life.

file.png - 963x194, 29.8K

Are you....Verso?

Sing us a song, you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feelin' alright

It seems we're at an impasse, mon ami.

The Dessendres are fucked up evil gods that create sentient life to use as play things. The only reason one of them has a change of heart is because she fucked up entering the painting and got stuck as a Lumierian for 16 years. Alicia is right to realise that these people shouldn't be erased and she is right to sacrifice herself to prolong their lives and world as long as possible

kek

dad abused mom and sisters

sisters grew up and moved away

dad went to jail and moved away when he got out

mom moved away

nobody talks to each other

haven't seen any of my family members in over a decade

family ain't shit. if maelle wants to live in the simulation she has every right to

and retards

Like Maellefags. lol gottem

She should join the writer guild

Sucks to be a nigger anon, but most family aren’t like your chimp cage

DLC/Sequel where Alicia grows to resent her family and jumps the fence over to the Writers camp

sorry to hear that, anon. shouldn't have born a nigger

They're all dead already. The ones she repaints won't be the same.

Statistically speaking, most families are exactly like that.

eyefucked by writer dick

really it's just a matter of time until one of the Dessendre's pet creations in any of the canvas finds a way to escape the painting and enacts Total Artfag Death

My theory that the ending is largely based on whether you're a parent or have a good relationship with your family is once again proving to be correct.

Gustave would've figured out how to escape the canvas with his lumina converter

If you're a god, is it better to save one world and resurrect a civilization but consequently die in the process, or leave and create multiple other worlds and their own inhabitants?

maellefags are nigger

kek, holy fuck thanks anon

Yeah, brown ones.

Ugly photorealism slop

And yet somehow you all ended up in the same place. Says a lot about your parents and your family.

Parents have always been supportive

Good relations with my brother

In daily contact with my parents

Chose Maelle's ending btw

Theoretically speaking. Since the dessandre senpai have been splurging chroma left and right in the painted world, could the painted resident absorbed all of it and gain the power to break free?

really it seems like a given the Painters and the Writers are going to fuck up and create a monster too strong for them to erase. Something like god being able to create a rock he himself not being able to lift

owned

we were /here/ first monkey

he's got you all there

Is there a correlation between posting about vidya on a website and being brown?

versofags in complete disarray

So why did Verso let Gustave die again?

Possibly unpopular opinion, but when the singer from Senses Fail starts screaming at 1:30, the song becomes shittier. It's so good right up until the 2000s screamo shit starts.

Maelle was about to jump his bones next camp after the Lightmaster.

She'll die in WW1 so it's not like it matters if she stays in the canvas. She'll unironically live a longer, more fulfilling life in there with Gustav instead of a Father that only pretends to care.

You are musically inept. Never go into Opera.

OOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH DAMMMMMNNNN SON!!

I agree

Why are all versofags so obsessed with race?

chud.jpg - 480x639, 29.07K

Maelle was too immersive and about to rape gustave

Never go into Opera.

Deal. So is that offkey screaming common in operas? I genuinely don't know, but I like the softer harmonies before he starts wailing.

Maellefags are retards because they're forcing a real person suffer needlessly

Versofags are retards for listening to someone that isn't even a real person

You're both retarded, go fuck each other already.

Because casting Daredevil as your main character is extremely expensive.

He literally explains in the same scene.

Damn

No, it's suppose to invoke emotion. Everyone is different. Well at least they made a version of the song without the vocals. So you can enjoy that one.

During Gustave's death, the lampmaster pops out of the water to stop the rest of the crew from flying back up. That's never mentioned again and it never shows the resolution of the fight even after Verso appears. Did Sciel and Lune solo it? And I assume there's more than one since I think you fight one in Flying Manor and maybe after doing all the painter workshop shit, I can't remember.

They should’ve done more with his “third” phase

Bro I haven't got this far I don't even know who the fuck this is.

I bet this fight is a fucking nightmare if you can't do retard damage with stendhal. I squeaked by on my last two people, but by the time I got to them he only had probably 10% hp.

not that anon but are you retarded? he asks real verso if he wants to stop painting and he nods RETARDED FUCKING NIGGER

Sciel fucked it like the ho she is.

He's already harder than Promised Consort.

It's the hardest boss in the game and Clea's painted boyfriend.

Stendhal was nerfed but you can just gommage him before he enters the third phase if you're not good enough to parry 18 hits in a row.

hardest boss in the game

gets one shot by maelle nuke

But why is she there?
Obviously, she's not currently in the painting.
Is this a part of her soul, like Verso? Because she painted "half" of it?
Is this why she can paint over stuff?
Why won't she give me a footjob?

implying I'm updating a single player game

I never used gommage because I assumed the damage was shit and the gimmick was just that it one shotted weak enemies. I used Monoco's big fucking bell instead.

Promised Consort can also be trivialized with a Fingerprint Shield, these games are RPG's.

Hey goys
Basically went radio silence to play the game and finished it
Here are my opinions:
The painted world's people deserve to live, so I sided with Maelle.

It has never been more over for these faggots. lmao

How do you know? The ones she brings back at the start of act 3 seem to be the exact same?

Nobody forces you to live in the USA.

Congratulations, you're not an autistic sociopath.

It's fucking wild the main writer is a woman and was found on Leddit, while the masterful composer was found on some random obscure forum.

Esquie is the real hero. Real Verso (forma del shota)'s cute stuffed animal friend that he cried into and hugged and told his problems to every night, saving and bringing joy to all the sad depressed people of the world. The hero we need, but don't deserve.

The monolith is practically still counting down, only for Maelle instead of Aline.

But why is she there?

She's also at the Forgotten Battlefield. It's real Clea trying to talk to Alicia while she's inside.

I almost want to buy a plush of Esquie and buying vidya merch is something I never do. Also, you're forgetting Verso's faithful puppy Monoco.

Does anyone know how First Strike works when applied to multiple characters?

I want Monoco to go before Maelle, and his speed stat is much higher, but Maelle is still going first.

Like Lune saod, it's not an either or situation
They can find a solution to the side effects of being in the canvas

director hires people whose work he likes based on what the game needs

meanwhile at most companies the writer or composer would be hired due to either dei policies or industry connections

Forever

Why not remove it from Maelle then?

What did the guy from Anon Babble do?

Designed the volleyball minigame and first Gross Tete fight.

Adjust the party order, i.e. remove everyone but Monoco, then re-add them in the order you want them to act. Note, this only works when you "blast" an enemy, if the enemy triggers the fight or it's a scripted story fight then the order will be based on each character's speed unless the boss has a scripted first move like the mimes and their walls.

It's a countdown for the death of Alicia's real body, Renoir will finally get rid of the canvas once she dies.
Her lasting only until she's 49(another 33 years) inside the canvas makes sense since she had 0 previous experience as a Painter.

the fucking divide this ending has caused is amazing

I'd kill 100 Versos to save 1 dog.

Fighting over the ending

The mark of a true gem.

fight Renoir at old lumiere

team just found out that he was lying to them and that he is his son

Renior tries to kill Maelle

Verso blocks the attack and says "Alicia, move"

back at camp right after

Speak to Lune

Verso says ask me anything

hmmm maybe ask him why did he call Maelle Alicia? Why was he lying the whole time?

NOPE, the first question she asks him is "do you like monkeys?"

This is reddit writing for you

Maellefags would betray humanity and side with the androids/ai

It's kind of like the Nier Replicant endings, do you sacrifice yourself, as in actually erase your existence entirely including from everyone's memory, to save this potty mouthed dick girl, or you just let her die right now. Sucks that the remaster added a "golden" meme ending though, idk how Taro okayed that

im a versoCHAD and proud, total maellfag annihilation

The characters are purposely retarded to make the plot work. Otherwise they would tell Verso to fuck off for being an obvious untrustworthy person. I knew that asshole let Gustave die from the start

>Verso blocks the attack and says "Alicia, move"

Pretty sure he was calling out painted Alicia not Maelle

I really didn't care about Gustave and forgot about him almost immediately.

Same, it helped that Verso was hotter.

idk how Taro okayed that

You mean the original final ending to the game they couldn't add due to budget constraints and everyone had known about since forever?

not this shit again

That doesn't even make sense. The "countdown" was due to her lack of chroma needed to sustain Lumiere/protect them from the Gommage.

There is no longer any Renoir in the canvas, and thus no Gommage. Outside of the headcanon Renoir will nuke the canvas after Alicia passes away, they are not just going to blip out of existence if she dies.

did this immediately when Verso showed up to be quite honest. soon as he appeared I was like Ah, okay, this guy is literally me.

It's literally the woman versus man ending.

My brother was even arguing for the rights of fake people.
It kinda freaked me out, I thought you maellefags were some bizarre Anon Babble contrarianism.

Are you an autist? That's why I used the word practically, not literally. There won't be a yearly gommage, but their days are still numbered.
And you have to be pretty tone deaf if you think Renoir would not destroy the object directly responsible for his daughter's death.

And you have to be pretty tone deaf if you think Renoir would not destroy the object

Oh, so it's this headcanon after all. Nevermind me. Carry on;

I can't be the only one who thought Renoir was some kind of time loop future version of Gustave.

but their days are still numbered.

But their days aren't. Once Alicia kicks the bucket they'll still live on, similar to how the Gestrals are all still around and alive even though Verso's a briquette buried 6 feet under.

Maelletards will be the ones to defend the machines and their "machine rights" when they start growing us in tubes for food and power

Renoir's going to erase the canvas out of spite, apparently. At least that's what the headcanon of choice is.

The only spite in the story is Aline willfully choosing to paint Alicia as a cripple.
That shit's fucked up

even "Verso" agreed that was terrible

My beautiful sister does not need to wear a mask

Didn't even bother to color the bitch. Aline deserves to be shipped to an asylum.

Almost at the bump limit, another victory for the Maelle team, Versofags got btfo again, why do they even keep trying

Why does Maelle have white hair in Act 3? Alicia has Red hair IRL

The fact she clearly loves her "mother" is a twist of the knife.

This Clea bitch filtered me. Do I really have to parry her all shit? I'm just gonna Stendahl her.

Renoir's entire motivation is destroying the canvas so his wife would not die to it.
He agrees to let his daughter keep it because she lies and promises not to become an addict like her mother.
The moment she dies he no longer has any reason to hold back on destroying the canvas since Maelle would've proved him right.
How the fuck is that headcannon and hard to understand?

A few days ago someone tried to tell me it would be wrong to allow Aline's painted people to live in Verso's canvas
Well fuck you

I just finished the Clea fight and Verso's soul literally says that he welcomes all that live in his painting, even Clea and Aline's creations. Verso believes that the paintings deserve life as much as anything outside the canvas.

We need a true ending DLC where Maelle's schizo ass is cast out of the painting after undoing the Fracture and returning control to Verso

I actually had never even noticed it but your post made me realize there is a picture of the dog on the nightstand. I love the little attentions to detail in this game.

How's the performance of this game? I see it's on UE5 and I'm immediately worried.

she "died" when Aline gommaged along with all the other painted people in the world, she's in her afterlife, just like Verso whose hair is also white but a Gestral dies it for him

mfw I didn't even see any of her attacks because I built Maelle to OHKO everything

I've been watching people stream it (I'm on console) and it seems like it runs pretty much perfectly
Only seen one person get a crash and that was after ~20 hours of play

How the fuck is that headcannon and hard to understand?

Because it's a headcanon. If you want to speculate and theorize, sure. Possibility is not zero. But saying he is going to destroy the canvas as a fact is headcanon. Simple as.

Alicia and Maelle are the same person.

ran great for me the whole game and i'm on a lowly rtx 3050

I really liked how they showed you exactly why Lune and Sciel couldn't just help immediately. Bonus points for that scene being completely 'transparent' with the battle going above - no loading screen, no obvious transition wipe.
Other battles and scenes also have this, but it's especially noticeable in this particular `fight` against Renoir.

no, Maelle died. it is only Alicia now, but in her ending, she forced herself to pretend she's Maelle, despite knowing the truth. And she forced everyone else to play along, and she forced Verso to playing the fucking piano even though he wanted to die.

I keep Maelle in my backup party when I'm just getting frustrated. It's pretty fun to learn the fights instead of Stendahl everything. I already have Verso oneshotting everything except the harder bosses, and Clea gets 500k HP every time you get hit. You basically need to perfect her.

Runs great on my ps5pro but there are some really weird rare graphical glitches that I have just not seen on streamers playing on high end pcs. I am curious if the is a pssr glitch that might not be present on base ps5, there were a lot of weird lighting issue in alan wake for example.

I was running it fine maxed but I was having weird random crashes late in the game. Turns out limiting the frame rate fixed it, so don't set it to unlimited.

Renoir's entire motivation is destroying the canvas so his wife would not die to it.

Wrong.
His entire motivation is to get his wife to live in the real world instead of escapism.
He literally tells Alicia that he doesn't want to destroy the canvas but feels that's the only way to keep Aline from going back in.
Alicia had the right idea of going and hiding the portrait, she's just an idiot at picking hiding spots because Aline found it in practically no time at all considering that she enters it again for the final fight with Renoir even though only a few weeks to a few months have passed within the portrait.

Nice fanfiction

nice "I didn't play the game"

(Child)Verso seems to be the only Painter in his family that believes painted beings are alive or have souls, even Alicia seemed to not really see them as real before being forced to live as one.

NPCs here are real according to Maellefags

His entire motivation is to get his wife to live in the real world instead of escapism.

Yes... and because she was going to die in the canvas

Alicia had the right idea of going and hiding the portrait, she's just an idiot at picking hiding spots because Aline found it in practically no time at all

The canvas wasn't hidden, both Alicia and Renoir were still in the Canvas and never left after Aline was cast out. It was an idea floated for after all of them had left.

noooooooooo you deleted my Sims save????

noooooooooooooo you killed a whole civilization of real people!!!!!!

retard

Bodied that freak.

The canvas wasn't hidden

Clea and Alicia literally talk about how it was a clever move to hide the portrait you retard. You'd know this if you played the game instead of just osmosing shit from Anon Babble threads.

MUI. Maelle Ultra Instinct

Did she forget what she painted?

My computer is a magical canvas!!!

BOTH are horrible and selfish

Maelle wants to torment Verso for living in her charade world for eternity because she is a selfish fuck and wants to overdose on heroin

Verso wants to sacrifice his friends (I dont care if they are living or not fuck off) just because hes a selfish fuck tired of living.

I have an ancient 2060 and had almost no issues. The only place with minor framerate issues was after spending a lot of time in the Endless Tower and during the Clea fight in the Flying Manor. Both places had a fuckton of fog and flying particles so I'm guessing that's the issue. I played it on what I assume was medium setting (whatever it autodetected) and it looked great.

He literally tells Alicia that he doesn't want to destroy the canvas

The fact that everyone but Verso fails to acknowledge or flat out refuses the wishes of Verso's soul is pretty fucked up ngl.
Clea only suggests stopping him because it's what will destroy the canvas.

Hello ESL kun

Yeah. Painted Verso being the only one to address that using Painter Verso like a puppet to keep the world going against his will is sad.

Not him, but they did a piss poor job of hiding it since Aline popped in after 5 minutes (assuming you zerg straight to Lumiere in Act 3).

Verso wants to sacrifice his friends to save his mother and sister

ftfy
And his friends support his decision, at least the two that actually matter: Esquie and Monoco.

>Verso wants to sacrifice his friends to save his mother and sister

nice headcannon you have in your head.
It was never about sacrifice just his selfish wish to die

I'm more generous and say 15. You had that montage of the expedition travelling the world again to reanimate the dead expeditioners, which probably took a few weeks or a couple months inside the painting.

I completely forgot about that since the only payoff was a few seconds of them killing nevrons on the beach.

Anon, that scene was a flashback
They've tried hiding it before, which is why Renoir insists that it won't work and that she'll just find it again

They've tried hiding it before

They haven't. If they have there'd be lore mentions of Aline not being in the painting.

Think about it for at least five seconds.
At which point in the story did Maelle leave the canvas to have that conversation with Clea?

At which point in the story did Maelle leave the canvas to have that conversation with Clea?

Nowhere, retard. It's from before she became Maelle. Which means from the point Alicia entered the canvas to the point where they beat Aline the portrait was already hidden away. Except it's a shitty hiding spot because it didn't even take a year inside the potrtait for Aline to find where it was hidden.

nice argument
He was willing to live with Maelle until she proved she was as weak-willed as their mother

nta but Maelle does mention hiding the canvas to Verso at the start of act 3

Versotards are mentally ill. Please understand.

Verso was only kidding when he told Alicia to fuck off into and live in another canvas if life makes her unhappy. He really cares about her survival and the family unit. I'm sure Renoir would be all for it :)

Which means from the point Alicia entered the canvas to the point where they beat Aline the portrait was already hidden away.

Are you fucking stupid? Why would they hide the canvas from Aline while Aline is still inside it?

Yes, that scene takes place before Alicia enters the Canvas and becomes Maelle. Which we SEE happen, by the way, and the Canvas was still in the atelier. They had ALREADY tried hiding it once before (at least), and Aline found it and re-entered.

This is more or less spelled-out explicitly in the story, how the fuck aren't you getting it

Are you fucking stupid? Why would they hide the canvas from Aline while Aline is still inside it?

Anon, you're not some retard that thinks they're physically in the canvas right?
They stand in front of it and go all painter googly eyes. Their bodies are still in the real world.
Here, look. Notice how in the section where Alicia enters the canvas the portrait is missing one Aline sitting and one Renoir standing in front of the portrait? That's because the portrait is no longer in the room where they entered it.

I am telling you, the scene where Clea and Alicia hide the painting happens before the scene where Alicia enters the painting and is reborn as Maelle.
This shouldn't even be an argument, it's literally right there in the fucking story.

Renoir rejects the notion of hiding the painting because they already tried doing that and it didn't work.

Holy shit versofags are stupid. No wonder they have no imagination and can only comprehend that the canvas is like the sims.

I am telling you, the scene where Clea and Alicia hide the painting happens before the scene where Alicia enters the painting and is reborn as Maelle

Yes, this isn't up for debate retard. We literally see when Alicia enters the portrait that it's a different ass room with candles on the ground everywhere. Even the floor is different from where we first see the portrait.
What's being said here is that by the time Aline was kicked out of the portrait said portrait was hidden, but according to it's not hidden simply because Aline and Renoir were in it, which is fucking moronic.
