I loved both Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooie when I first played them 25 years ago
I replayed them earlier this year and was pleasantly surprised to discover that Banjo Kazooie held up and I still loved every second of it and yet I forced myself about 70% of the way through Tooie and just went "fuck this" and dropped it
You need to play Tooie with the fast walk cheat code on otherwise it's truly fucking unplayable. This is why 360 version is unplayable

I had a similar experience. I never played Tooie as a kid and decided to play them both this year. Kazooie holds up perfectly, apart for some clunky movements. Tooie on the other hand is painfully boring. Every single task, apart for some mini games, feels like an annoying chore. They made the game way longer while also removing the reason you'd ever want to play it. The backtracking doesn't help either. BK is all about the player trying different approaches to reach collectibles. If half the jiggies require backtracking you spend tons of time trying shit that won't work only to find out that you needed to go and get a new move in a different stage over and over and over. I reached Grunty Industries and gave up.
I played Kazooie and due to the ending of Kazooie realised there'd be a Tooie and yet still missed Tooie lmao.

I won't pretend that the missions and a few other aspects of the game weren't 100% amazing, but what I'm saying is that anyone who doesn't enjoy the actual building of the cars in that game must surely be mentally lacking in some way. That vehicle builder was fucking fantastic and I can't fathom anyone who doesn't have the creative curiosity to enjoy tinkering with it for hours.
