A few hours in and finding it pretty boring
A few hours in and finding it pretty boring
It's okay, only white people can appreciate oblivion.
i'm done talking to you
The minimum age requirement to enjoy Oblivion is 25. The minimum IQ requirement is 115. Also this
I don't know you, and I don't care to know you.
its very boring, just a bunch of fetch quests everywhere
Be seeing you
I think only like 5% people actually finished it
I thought it was boring too, OP. I played Oblivion at release and thought it was fine. The remaster is the exact same game with better graphics. I'm not sure how anyone can defend it unless they didn't play the original.
I got 70 hours of play time in about a week when the remake came out
should I play the remaster or the original?
Have you played the original?
The only reason to play the original is if your computer can't run the remaster.
yar, I played it when it came out and had a fuck ton of time in the OG as well
I played it when it came out
You don't care that it's the exact same game?
it's a remaster anon what else is it supposed to be
Not him, but I've played every single gamebryo Bethesda game like 10 times each. Yes, I have autism.
what's funny is I hadn't replayed oblivion since it originally came out till the remaster but I did the exact same thing you did with skyrim. Like I replay that shit almost yearly
I don't know, actually. I don't know what I expected. I'm still playing World of Warcraft in 2025, but at least that game adds new stuff. The Oblivion remaster is like your friend wearing new clothes; it's like what's the difference?
I've played every single gamebryo Bethesda game like 10 times each. Yes, I have autism.
Well, I have 10k hours in Dota 2 and the Oblivion remaster still bothered me.
when someone describes a game as comfy you know it's a borefest
It doesn't get any better, I beat it for the first time a few days ago. It's an objectively bad game.
combat
encounter design
progression
rpg elements
are all poorly executed, and that's on top of it letting you save whenever you want and teleport to locations you've never visited.
do you never replay single player games anon?
ive been playing it a ton because i just like the mindless shit, but i remember not liking the game compared to morrowind and skyrim and playing remastered has pretty much confirmed my memories. it does some cool things here and there, dont get me wrong. but as an entire package, its easily the worst todd tes.
what's the difference?
theres a lot, actually
en.uesp.net
I played BG3 a lot, but Oblivion doesn't have much replay value. Every run is kind of the same. You can join the Mage's guild even if you're not a Mage.
Don't listen to the shitposters. It's perfectly normal to find Oblivion boring. I found it boring back on the original release- it's honestly a shit game, especially compared to Morrowind.
Every run is kind of the same
you have to actually roleplay in your roleplaying video game, because playing efficiently will just be the same playthrough every time.
all the contrarians saying this was the best elder scrolls game are saying it sucks now that its cool again. Good job hipsters are ruining things for innocent people
playing efficiently will just be the same playthrough every time.
You're right about that. I'd much rather just boot up a different game instead of le roleplaying.
instead of le roleplaying.
average bg3 player
In an RPG role playing is a necessity. Oblivion isn't an RPG, its a sandbox like GTA. Except even GTA is more a game than Oblivion.
took me forever to get a grasp on finding quests and where to go for them cause I'm a Skyrim noob but finally I got through the first oblivion portal and I've got past the introductory shit for Fighters Guild and Mage College so now I finally feel like I got a vast world and lots of things to go do, my biggest disappointment was realizing there is no forging in this game, I could spend hours in Skyrim forging and every tier felt really gratifying getting through
I don’t know you and I don’t care to know you
A few inches in and I find it pretty tight
what do you expect a remaster to be? people want it to be the original with nothing but upgraded graphics, for the record I didn't play it cause my first bethesda game was FO3 and so it feels like a sort of Skyrim sequel I've been waiting for. Insane how long we've waited for hammerfell
So justs stick to the main quest you turbo retard.
The remaster is the exact same game with better graphics.
not really. they tweaked mechanics, changed some perks, changed a birth sign, changed how dodge roll works. made leveling up way faster, and gave you a guaranteed 13 points per level up, and reduced enemy health.
its not "the exact" same game by any measure, if anything its easier with smoother gameplay and a few less exploits.
teleport to locations you never visited
was that in the original game? i thought it was a really bad mechanic too, tried to skip it at first and then I just got lazy and started using it cause I had quests that made me go to every corner of map
I dunno about him, but a remaster is when you take the master copy of a piece of media and clean it up. That's the a tual meaning.
was that in the original game?
for the main cities, yes.
Oblivion has some of the most unique quests in the fucking medium.
in what ways is Morrowind better besides the more alien world and trippy dark elf shit
like what though? I feel like oblivion quests are overrated. Im not saying they are bad but they arent the best thing since sliced bread or anything
Remaster just off the remaster fixing the leveling, there's a few outfit changes you might be able to call censorship but you can just mod them probably.
People like you just love to bitch
doing that painting quest right now, massive coincidence
I haven't played it in years but the first one that springs to mind is the well challenge for the mages guild
morrowind had better exploration just by virtue of having it so you never knew what you were going to find and you could find almost anything + dungeons could have secret rooms with high tier loot. Compare this to oblivion where dungeons just had procedural loot leveled around the player, the biggest contributing factor to if a dungeon was worth doing in oblivion was the layout / mob density, and how many chests were inside, and when you found a good one you could just run it over and over and be better off than doing a new one. In morrowind you might find a simple egg mine, or it might have a secret level that opens up a secret vault that has like 100k worth of loot inside, or maybe a vampire clan that will have quests if you are a vampire.
That paranoid delusional guy behind the church.
And what games do you usually play?
It's fine, but it's a vanilla Bethesda game. Skyrim has hundreds of thousands of mods. Give it a few years and it'll be amazing.
So is this Pelinail/Knights of the Nine content even real or does the prophet just ‘tell’ you the greatest elf warlord in history is coming back? I’ve seen Umaril’s model and I know you fight him but isn’t this DLC half baked horseshit, including the dogshit lore written for it?
You can fly around teleport and shoot magic bombs from above
saying you think quests are overrated is bitching
is today that time of the month for you or what
be seeing you
the killer dinner party for the dark brotherhood
going inside the painting
going inside the sleeping wizards dream to wake him up
the daedric shrine quest to convince a nord and dunmer family who share a settlement together in peace slaughter each other
the daedric shrine quest to make a random village full of khajits go insane thinking the world is ending by making it rain dogs
the daedric shrine quest to attend a dinner party at a castle, cast a spell that makes everyone naked and attack each other on sight, and run out of there
the mages guild quest to find a missing apprentice who was pulling a prank because he was bored and cast an invisibility spell on himself
climbing the ranks in the gladiator arena, getting to be crowned grand champion, picking an arena name, then being able to participate in weekly fights against monsters for tons of gold to entertain arena spectators
being a dungeon master and making the adventurers go insane in the shivering isles
poisoning the duke of mania with drug mushrooms and watching him die while reciting a soliloquy
the battle of retarded npcs at the giant oblivion gate outside Bruma
finding out about the betrayal within the dark brotherhood and meeting the night mother
stealing an elder scroll for the thieves guild
it goes on and on, tons of unique and kino quests
How about
guy who wants to die without committing suicide so he pays you to kill him when he’s not looking
roleplay
Oblivion
fucking lmao
oblivion quests and map sucks
Take care
I played Oblivion maybe 10 years ago, but dropped it when I became fed up with closing Oblivion Gates. Never really cared for the main quest at all, actually. But replaying it this time around, I've grown very fond of the tragedy.
maybe Valorant is more up your alley, brown zoomie
hehe le funny thing that happened and I watched
reminds me of the oblivion fighter guild quest
Morrowind quest
fighters guild has a quest for you recruit, its about cave rats, we need you to kill some in this persons house
>woooooww you mean im doing something that a new member of the fighters guild might do? thats so boring, its like im actually doing a job for the fighters guild wooooowww
Oblivion quest
fighters guild has a quest for you recruit, its about cave rats, we need you to kill some cats that are killing them because this person is a wacky cave rat collector!
> HOLY HECK thats so zany! i never would have expected that one, best quests in the genre!
Dont get me wrong oblivion quests are OK, but how many of them have multiple outcomes where a player gets a better reward if they do something without the game explicitly asking them to do it? Just using their own intuition and player agency to figure out a secret within a quest that was only hinted at without even the journal bringing it up?
making it rain dogs
I just did that quest yesterday in the remaster and I could have sworn it was frogs in the original.
