Survival RPGs

I have soulmask and it's very good.
Is Conan exiles, aska and enshrouded good too for solo?
I wanna see just go full out on this type of games I'm a sucker for building a base, exploring, getting the base full of npcs, taking the npcs/pets with you raiding, it's fucking crazy cool.

I'm currently 80 hours deep into conan exiles solo. I was very hesitant but got the game for $4 on a sale and it's honestly one of the most fun games I've ever played. The fact there are so many NPCs in the world and you can whack them in the head, bind them and subdue them to do labor for you is great for worldbuilding. It actually got me into the Conan universe and I'll read all the Robert E Howard stories when I'm done.
I built my fuckhuge castle in creative mode though because fuck that hardened brick and steel reinforcement grind

Can you compare to soulmaks, enshrouded or Aska?

Its alright, the exploration is cool. I remember first playing it a long time ago solo and had a bad experience though because everywhere cool had too many enemies for solo play. It wasnt a skill issue either its just that attacking and dodging uses stamina and you would simply run out too quickly solo and be fucked. I dont know if that aspect ever got fixed ive only played it with friends since

haven't played any of them so I can't. I'm very picky about these rock and tree punching games, I don't have as much time to play as I did when I was a teen. My friend recommends enshrouded though

Conan has pretty dogshit combat, I'd rank it barely serviceable in that regard. The base building is top notch, if that's your brand of autism then it's a good choice. Caveat though that I have not played after the battlepass crap but I did get all the building expansions whenever they went on sale.

Progression is a bit obtuse (or was when I played), it expects you to try out places to find one that suits your current level, but it is also very easy to overlevel yourself and stomp everything below your level.

there is a mod that tweaks HP of bosses for solo play to less ridiculous values.
But even without that, the meta is to get a good named fighter thrall and have him tank for you. Cimmerian Berserkers start with almost 3k HP (when the player at lvl 60 has something like 600)

both are good for solo
keep an eye on dune too, it's pve up to the last tier and even then can rat to get the last tier resources

I'm affraid of what said desu

Soulmaks seems perfect for solo and I read conan makes you grind like crazy to build stuff as solo

set resources x2 or x3 if you want

Is Conan exiles good for solo?

Played the fuck out of basically every survival crafting game.
Bounced off of Conan because it basically feels entirely balanced around being online co-op multiplayer like Rust.

Conan exiles

pros

somewhat faithful to Howard's books

interesting world

building could be fun

transmogrification

tits and asses

cons

piss easy

every boss is just a giant sponge or dies in 3 hits

balance is all over the place

building is wonky and requires insane amount of materials grind

horrible lags and rubberbanding

official servers are overrun with cheaters

private servers filled with ERPing wierdos

UE4

you can tweak resource harvesting rate, XP rate, damage rate, damage from thralls rate, and pretty much everything else in your solo play setup. I recommend joining some normal server first to get a hang of how the game is played and then start a solo game with settings tweaked to your liking

Theyve since added more difficulty options and added workshop support so i dont think youll have any problems playing solo. You'll want a resource multiplier of at least 2x, and more if you want to create an actual castle. I contented myself with nestling my hideout in a cozy naturally protected goon cave

Thanks

Yeah this tweeking thing, I read about it but I'm have no clue how to tweak it if I'm a newfag to the game. Seems soulmask, enshrouded and aska don't have this.

Im really into Conan world though

When playing solo you can set modifiers for pretty much everything. The challenge is to have them set so you'll not bore yourself out grinding or bore yourself out making everything a cakewalk.

Most interesting way might actually be to play it heavily thrall reliant, like a pokemon game except you're trying to get big titty cimmerians to fight scorpions for you.

I have soulmask and it's very good

have you played kenshi?
i've been looking for a good kenshi-like and soulmask has been on my wishlist

I wish this wasn't mmo and instead singleplayer TES competitor. Everything related to MMO design pisses me off, I hate this genre. Those npcs acting like mmo mobs and respawning in your sight and their short artificial aggro range. No quests and interactions with npcs and nothing in their place. The fact that nothing you do has any influence on the world, you can kill a named character and he will respawn endlessly so he can be grinded. Even the fact that you just respawn after death, can find your body even and no one bats an eye ruins immersion so hard, instead of there being a normal save system. Everything feels so hollow because of it.
It's still the only game of this genre I managed to play.

I'm have no clue how to tweak it if I'm a newfag to the game

hence why you should join a server at first and get a hang of how the game is played. It takes literal minutes to get past the initial survival stage in solo play

Conan Exiles is the only game i know of so far where you are able to be a slave master that drives an entire army of scantily clad slave women to fight for you, defend your land, and dance naked for you. The base game. Entirely unmodded.

No quests

there are some quests, but it's mostly

get <thing>

get <other thing> in barter trade

like in the Mounds of the Dead there's a ghost of a blacksmith and you need to collect his shit from the surrounding mounds fighting undead and Cimmerian niggers, and in return you get the knowledge to make legendary norse armor

You can tweak solo settings at any time so you can adjust it to what you want at any time. From what ive read soloing is fine now, you'll just need to be prepared for dungeons first with a good thrall especially instead of going in and smacking everything up as naked shitters like you can as a group

Soulmask has all of that with better graphics and you ride a mammoth

Soulmask

How much fap material is there in compare to CE?

Conan Exiles is good if you mod it, particularly the mod that makes it so you loot gear off enemy NPCs (by region, so for example the starting area is going to be stone age weapons, the endgame is going to be endgame weapons)

Aska is unfinished, haven't played Soulmask but it also sounded unfinished.
Slaves in Conan don't have ASKA/Soulmask levels of crafting for you, it's more like they generate resources for you that you loot from a box and then you build.
But you don't have to channel a hammer button or whatever, you just plonk it down

It's 10,000% worth $12 USD, I believe Spitah is the only other expansion map thing (the rest of the DLC is, I believe, all cosmetics) and Spitah isn't necessary or whatever, like think of it as an entirely new map like in ARK or something.

The thing is it's super moddable, if you don't want to grind then don't.
I played solo and didn't want to grind to tech up so I played with the mod that lets you steal better stuff by killing NPCs, extremely fun and rewarding

Im really into Conan world though

Then you'll love it, seriously don't hesitate, pull the trigger. The tweaking is literally changing an Options menu thing like you'd do in Valheim (I think? Pretty sure) or downloading a mod from the Steam Workshop.

I guess the combat is "bad" but it doesn't feel bad if that makes sense?
Like, the starting monsters will kill you if you're not prepared, if you aggro too many NPCs you'll die, if you run out of stuff to sustain yourself you'll die, etc.
It's true that you can overgear everything though

Slaves in Conan don't have ASKA/Soulmask levels of crafting for you, it's more like they generate resources for you that you loot from a box and then you build.

what
thralls in Conan works exatly like that - crafting thralls give you bonus crafting speed/cost and more recipes with T3/T4 thralls

If I'll buy than I'll buy the complete edition with all the dlcs, that's why im hesitant

I played Enshrouded with a friend. It's alright.
I like that you can dig out caves and make an underground home.

I recommend V Rising.

V Rising

V Rising is more "ARPG with crafting/building" than survival

Sure... but it's also more fun than anything mentioned in the thread so far.

Oh dude soulmask is finished. It plays very smooth and comfy. I went into it with 0 knowledge of the game or barely any of survival rpgs and it all clicked so well.

This gay battlepass and ingame store are so fucking dumb honestly. No way that they will force me to play their game with some FOMOfaggotry when I don't feel like playing the game right now. And I'm not going to log into their game, buy some virtual currency and wait until their dlc show up in that store to buy them. On the contrary, I could buy them on a sale in some collection if they were on steam store, just like I did with their old normal expansions.

Aska is fucking brutal, you get constantly attacked by waves of stronger and stronger mobs, destroying all your shit and their ain't nothing you can do about it but outpace them with progression

Enshrouded is great, it has graphics and is voxel based, so you can dig caves or create an entire mountain if you so like.

I dropped conan the moment they added that battlepass shit, their next game doesn't even support mods so they can milk the maximum amount of money out of it right from the start.

If I buy the complete ed do i get all the dlcs?

It's been a while since I played but what I meant is that they'll produce like, a finished good or whatever or like "mine" for you but it's not like in ASKA or Soulmask where they have an entire programmable routine / schedule of things they do.
If you haven't played ASKA or Soulmask you won't know what I mean, but where say in Conan an NPC just kinda stands at the Forge and channels and iron bars pop out, in Aska they'll do that but then they'll leave the station to go eat, to drink, to hang out at the Happiness stone, they'll go to the Workshop to pick up replacement tools, and have stats (Happiness, Hot/Cold, etc).

Again, maybe I'm not remembering the depth in Conan but IIRC it's like you can have them be your followers and they're like an NPC that's attacking for you, or they can kinda channel at some Station and objects appear, but it's not like this robust colony sim-like experience on the level of ASKA (Soulmask it's arguably even more extensive because you can program them more deeply, ASKA it's clunky getting the NPCs to do what you want them to do, they only just added the ability to recruit them into a Party and order them around)

in Conan an NPC just kinda stands at the Forge and channels and iron bars pop out

Nah.
In CE you still gather resources by yourself (you can use golems, but they're shit at that). Thralls just give bonuses for crafting process.
Also they added "Living settlements" system, so now crafting thralls not standing at station, but walk around, sit on chairs, sleep in beds, etc.

If I'll buy than I'll buy the complete edition with all the dlcs, that's why im hesitant

Hmm, that's like $88 or something right? I mean, I don't necessarily know that it's worth that much money, like there's a lot to do and there's a lot of stuff but a lot of the DLC is just cosmetics.
You're not going to like some of the cosmetics, and there's Workshop cosmetics that are as good or better. I get where you're coming from though, like if you were a richfag and $80+ USD was like two lunches for you, then I'd say yes. The base game is an easy buy though.

what the fuck, the dune game doesn't have any modding?

No, it doesn't have any sort of offline / private server either.

I really enjoyed the weekend beta, BUT only played for like 12 hours (got in late) and like I'm really on the fence now after that brief euphoria ended.
Like the climbing and movement is straight out of Conan, and in a lot of ways more/better which felt great, and the grind to build a base felt very forgiving (like the structures part).
It's only $45 (there's no reason to do the 5 days earlier, the game runs off a Once Human style rolling server system, headstart people are going to be on their own island, characters aren't transferable).

Incidentally, I really enjoyed Once Human for what it is (but don't spend any money on it)

in Aska they'll do that but then they'll leave the station to go eat, to drink, to hang out at the Happiness stone, they'll go to the Workshop to pick up replacement tools

they do all that in CE too

and have stats (Happiness, Hot/Cold, etc).

they don't have that in CE and honestly it would be annoying to keep track of

That's cool that CE improved them so much. Conan is a good game, it definitely has more content than ASKA.
I can't really speak to Soulmask.
Plus Conan is really easy to mod and there are a lot of great mods.

The stats thing in ASKA isn't that bad, it's more like you need to set them up to meet their needs (heat sources in winter, keep walls around your base so they don't feel anxious, have water on hand, etc).

it doesn't have any sort of offline / private server either

what
why

I fucking love enshrouded, play enshrouded.

Online slop

Fuck off

Sell me on it, what makes it stand out? Was thinking of getting either that or Conan Exiles since they're both on sale right now

The main selling point would be voxels over conan, and it is a more colorful fantasy setting. I love how you can build your own little fantasy town with all the classic characters like the blacksmith and the alchemist. If you want to play solo it's certainly offers more in that regard.

I would like this game a lot more if I could run it without my GPU fans spinning up. That shit is just not comfy.

it's cozy af

I love how you can build your own little fantasy town with all the classic characters like the blacksmith and the alchemist

so npcs move in like terraria?
are they as souless as terraria npcs?

I love how you can build your own little fantasy town with all the classic characters like the blacksmith and the alchemist.

Well shit that sounds like my kind of autism.

never played terraria, they sleep at night in their bed and walk around town during the day, talking to each other in speach bubbles, I think there is more planned with them, the game is still in EA. They also give you quests, but mostly you need them to craft stuff.

I like it. It kinda felt like Skyrim sometimes, especially up in the northern parts.

Oh dude soulmask is finished

Soulmask is still in early access though?

Well it feels finished and the soulmask jews make dlcs

Never should have come here!

i did. got around 15-20 hours in it before i realized i didn't actually like it

Just FYI if you are op, enshrouded does not have a follower mechanic where you take npcs to battle, unlike soulmask or conan. No idea about aska.

And also, FO4?
