So where does the doom series go from here?

Needs to go back to the 2016 formula with running and double jumping. That game was so good because it didn't force you to play with certain weapons. You just used whatever you had.

More gimmicks like usual. The slowmo was incidental to parrying and melee in Dark Ages but maybe next they'll try to focus on that and make a slowmo focused game like Max Payne or FEAR.

It was ass, terrible environmental designs, terrible enemy designs, terrible weapon designs, locking you into epic kill animations every 3 seconds, extremely limited mod support and every single fight being an arena between enemies that all behave almost exactly the same and have nearly the same degree of mobility. Play more classic DOOM if you want to see well designed levels where the specific behaviors of enemies are utilized to make each fight interesting.

Also, they fucked up the way the secret elevators behave in the E1M1 classic area, which is unforgiveable.

I want to see them go away from the closed arena fight sequences. The movement and basic gunplay is fine so they can keep that.

Yeah the dark ages feels like Hugo got told “alright this is your last doom game champ…” and then he shoved everything he could into his capeshit story.

Get rid of the climbing animations, that shit is stupid and interrupts gameplay, just make the platforms you can jump to the actual height of your jumps.

bring back 2016/eternal swapping. it's fun, simple as.

give the player more fun ways to interact with enemies. loosely, think dark messiah and games like that. combat should be scrappier and more improvised. give people room to be creative with their kills.

eternal and dark ages both emphasize stunlocking bigger demons. stop doing this. shooting things until they die like 2016 isn't that engaging, but cycling cooldowns to make things stand perfectly still isn't perfect either.

I want a Doom game about fighting and killing the Ars Goetia the famous demons of Christianity. And I want a separate game about Doom Guy fighting the Seven Deadly Sins. Also I want a boss fight against Baphomet.

There's so many different types of demons I'm disappointed Doom doesn't use them. Even more when you include different cultures.

I hated the story especially that annoying Ugly Mannish Woman Mary Sue who within her ugly mannish body somehow has a power that is superior to the Doom Slayer. So the Doom games are about to become woke shit with that shitty Feminism angle. No one liked that ugly mannish cunt that has internal super powers that make the Doom Slayer look weak if she can train to harness the power.

it felt cute in that game because it was referencing what doomguy got up to between 64 and 2016, and the only other character in the game is hayden, who hates you. in eternal and especially dark ages it feels dumb
