I had great fun with the randomizer. Played a few runs, with different settings. Only base game though. DLC stuff could spawn in the base game, but I never went to do DLC content.

Just look up where you can get all crystal tears and golden seeds. Once you collected them all you can play the game how it is supposed to be played.
Or just boot up dark souls since the Estus system is vastly superior (but you shouldn't go over 10 flasks).

They made some of the worst combat in my life and other idiots can't stop copying them. I rather glaze a movie game over their shovelware tech demos any day. All their games are too boring to finish and play through.

Cyberpunk 2077 felt more alive and great to play compared to ER and I don't like CP2077 that much. Nioh 2 and Rise of Ronin mog all of Fromslop category.

You can't. Fromslop can't into open worlds and they end up failing at delivering world building and story to care about the open world part.

look up the guide for leveling super fast and getting good equipment at the beginning, then just play the game. the difficulty will be massively reduced because you'll be ahead of the curve and you can actually have fun with the game. towards the end you'll have to power level again to stay ahead.

I got through 80% of the game on release and dropped it. Recently trying it again with reforged mod and enjoying it quite a bit. I can see it being very tedious to replay though.

the problem for me personally is that those games aren't european fantasy, nor are they extremely rich and eloquent in aesthetical design, dialogue, and story. but it's interesting to know there are games with an even better combat feel, i'll check them out
