Comfy Switch 2 thread?

comfy Switch 2 thread?

I can't wait to play the new Mario Cart with my wife and her boyfriend

that's strange

Just 18 more days until Anon Babble gets raped again.

what did you preorder? SMW bundle + pro 2 for me

I intentionally left games from Switch 1 to play so I have a lot of new games to start with. I'm so glad I did this. I'll start with TotK

As long as you’re in first place and not her boyfriend, it’s still a W.

Switch 2

Mario Kart

Pro Controller

2 Gamecube Controllers

because I skipped Switch 1, Mario Odyssey and Tears of the Kingdom are launch titles for me personally. This is the best console launch of all time easily.

holy shit. it's true that you've missed a lot of games over these years, but now you're going to have an amazing time. I'm jelly

Hoping that the GameCube controller stays in stock after launch since I could only afford to pre-order the console itself

I only got the mk world bundle and Bananza

I'm so excited

The only switch 1 games I recommend are breath of the wild, mario odyssey, smash ultimate, and metroid dread

bundle

I'm a physical thad
Switch 2
Mario Kart World
Donkey Kong Bananza
Pro Controller
Some disappointment at the resolution targets of games
I Also purchased Captain Toad Treasure Tracker to play that on Switch 2 with the upgrade.

I got an email from Nintendo saying i was still in queue but they have no estimate for when I can actually buy the thing from them
I registered on the 12th when will I be able to order it?
I was thinking of getting a credit card with an initial 3 month 500 dollar spending bonus of 200 dollars back before I bought it so I basically get 200 bucks off of it

When is the donkey kong game expected to come out and do you think there will be exploit to for hacking like the switch 1.

Just the base model. Not superhyped for MK9, might get it down the road. Looking forward to Donkey Kong, and I'm gonna play some upgraded TotK till that drops

Bananza comes out july

same bro, was a good idea to keep my switch backlog on tabs so I can play them enhanced on switch 2.

I'm a physical thad

I am too but constantly swapping cards when you want to play some MK in between is a fucking nightmare. MP games were made for digital. I had MK8 on the card and it was a terrible experience

how long until reorders go up for the NSO gamecube controller?

Oh that soon after release? Why didn't they just name it a launch game.

words of wisdom

Would eat into MKW’s sales. Nintendo learned that lesson during their Wii-U and 3DS era.

It's June 5th. Your Switch 2 arrives.

You open up the box gently, removing all the tape. The swift slicing sound is soon followed by a quiet sigh as the sealed air is pushed out of the box.

And there it is, the Switch 2. Its beautiful surface teases you, the joycon sticks daring you to reach out and touch them; to feel them; to play with them.

You handle it gently, taking it out the box. You connect the joycons and it responds with a satisfying snap. It's happy, and you made it happy. You want to close your eyes and take it further, but they remain open as you turn it on.

The Nintendo logo appears, staring into your soul. It searches you, tests you, asking for just another second of patience as you anticipate what it can give you...

You rush to put in your settings, making some mistakes in the process but oh they are such beautiful mistakes.

You are getting closer, you can feel it. You go faster and faster, your mind going blank. The Switch makes its final noise and Mariokart World is there as you reach out and...

Your alarm goes off. You wake up. It's May 20th. You have work.

MK is enough for day one. Bananza will be out on July 17

Some disappointment at the resolution targets of games

Can you elaborate on this? I haven't been keeping up. Are Mario Kart and DK running at 1080p only?

Nigga did you copy and paste a fuckin Reddit thread here?

Mario Kart bundle
Pro controller
256 GB micro sd express to hold me over until bigger ones from better brands become more available/cost effective
Gamecube Controller

I want to get a case but I'm not sure what to get. I don't think I need a fancy one because it's literally just there to protect it while its in my bag when I take it places.

I hope the framedrops of Link's Awakening are history on the S2

switch 2

mario kart

pro controller 2

totk sage amiibo

official carry case/screen protector

kunitsu-gami digital, wish it had a physical

haven't preordered anything that releases past launch yet

They will be, if it's bringing up fucking BoTW to 60 (maybe 120? I don't know) in Korok Forest the extra power alone should fix up most if not all Switch games to their max framerate. Age of Calamity should be actually playable.

this but for echoes of wisdom, never got around to finishing it so now I'm just waiting for switch 2

Just that the display is 1080 but games are pushing for 1080 while docked, so either they are non integer scaling at 900 or 720 while in handheld or something like 540 putting them at a lower res than what was on the Switch, Donkey Kong for example is 1080 while docked, third parties are predominantly 1080 possibly lower while docked, resolutions didn't really improve over the Switch's lifetime, so things aren't really trending well.

God, I hope SEGA plays nice with Nintendo this gen. Given there's Mega Drive, we have a chance at Saturn on NSO (Dreamcast is too close to SEGA remastering for full price imo)
which could mean Rayman 1 being playable on the Switch. Highly doubt Ubisoft is interested in re-releasing it.

yeah I find both unplayable as-is

i remember seeing somewhere (with the recent leak of the mainboard) that the switch 2 was supposed to be a switch pro but due to supply chain issues they ended up abandoning power upgrades for the switch and just made the oled model
this would explain why the switch 2's hardware is good enough to push 1440p and 4k on switch games at 60fps, but it crumbles when trying to run games with better graphics.

the hardware is designed to push high res high framerate for switch games, but it's not designed to push better graphics and higher res at the same time like a new generation is supposed to.

like donkey kong bananza, it looks marginally better than mario odyssey but it's stuck at 1080p

Standard SW2, MKW physical, controller, also preordered DK. Haven't played as much the last couple of years and games keep getting delayed. I hope there's a June direct announcing even more games

them and marvelous are based

Their track record is atrocious at best, remember Sonic Colors for Switch, Sega stated years ago that Sonic sold best on Nintendo hardware yet Switch was a complete afterthought for all sonic releases for the whole gen, Sonic Mania having performance issues on the Switch, Sonic Generations looking like a phone game while running like a PS5 port, Sonic frontiers and Sonic Forces being lazy ports, even Atlus was confusing, sure you got SMTV, really bad performance but still SMTV, then you get Soul Hackers 2 not launching on Switch. I just wouldn't expect anything but the bare minimum from Sega this gen.

the switch 2 was supposed to be a switch pro

makes literally zero sense, just a cope from people who spent literal years of their lives posturing of a switch pro that never existed

Nintendo: "In TV mode, the game can display up to 1440p and 60 FPS. In Handheld or Tabletop mode, the game runs at up to 1080p and 60 FPS."

bros im getting a little hungry for Smash news
6.5 years since Ult released and not even a mention of a new game in development

lol no

i don't know, it makes sense to me considering the chip is from 2021 or around that and considering how weak the switch 2 is.
it runs switch games fine, but start running demanding games like cyberpunk2077 and it goes back to 540p like the switch used to.

even nintendo games don't have new generation feel to them, i'm sure you can make a comparison that proves they are technically better looking, but i'm gonna be honest, at a glance the new mario kart and donkey look the same to me as mk8 and mario odyssey

Wait until Kirby Air Riders 2 comes out little nigga. We ain’t getting a new smash game until late 2026/early 2027.

What's the deal with this series? Are these games fun to play in single player?

s.jpg - 968x545, 161.63K

i don't know, it makes sense to me considering the chip is from 2021 or around that and considering how weak the switch 2 is.

what the fuck are you talking about

Same. Plus I want SmashUlt and Splatoon 3 upgrades, some news for that in a June direct would be nice.

Dumb troll

Why would you play that piece of shit remake to begin with? God, I will never stop seething about it, LA is my favorite Zelda.

6.5 years since Ult released

How...?

Is it seriously 18 more days?

nintendo: switch 2 supports vrr in both handheld and docked

nintedo 2 days ago: sorry intern goofed up, it's not supported in docked

i don't trust what they say i trust what they show, and donkey kong did not show 1440p

The only news Smash fans got is the creative director who's been on board for every game has been working on a different series since early 2022

not even a crumb like Smash 64 on NSO, lol

We ain’t getting a new smash game until late 2026/early 2027.

you are boldly optimistic
2028 earliest, and that's assuming only a 3 year dev cycle that starts immediately after air riders wraps development

don't like the look?

do you live under a rock? haven't you seen the full specs released 2 or 3 days ago?

Dumb troll

sure anyone who says anything you don't like is a troll

Dreamcast

Keep those games away from Gamecube subscription garbage. I want to own the Sonic Adventures and Skies of Arcadia, and I want to see them on my home screen. All I have right now for Dreamcast games are the Power Stones (from the collection that released yesterday).

Doesn't add up, Nintendo would have had teams developing both simultaneously, so this would imply that they arbitrarily decided to abandon the actual Switch 2 and field a Switch 1.5 in it's stead, even though the Switch 2 chip is multiple generations of tech improvements which in order to get the most out of the hardware would require a complete change in how a game renders everything.

They've shown bananza only in 1080, unlikely that a major resolution jump is happening in the space of a few months, especially with the performance issues the game saw in the demo.

PS5

900$ (800$ console + 100$ online) for 480p 35 fps and zero games

Xbox

850$ (730$ console + 120$ for online) for 360p 25 fps and zero games

Steam Deck

PC but with 50% performance for 90% price

Switch 2

470$ (450$ console + 20$ online) for 4k 60 fps for shitload of kino games

Unlikely, you're getting a new game for each

Nintendo would have had teams developing both simultaneously, so this would imply that they arbitrarily

i don't see in what capacity this would be arbitrary, it's just a financial decision to cut costs by repurposing and old chip.
and i don't see how the games would need to change their rendering in any way, the switch 2 games we saw do not make use of any kind of new technology that would require many reworks, dlss is very easy to add midway through development.
the switch 2 uses 2021 hardware, we are in 2025

I've never liked the series, probably just successful because they're co-op games and there's not a lot of competition in that area.

I don't think there's any cables that supports docked VRR

I think Smash Melee will be announced soon, no Smash 64 is weird.

Nintendo bumping resolution wouldn't be anything new. There might be a perfomance mode vs graphics mode like PS does

10% better perfomance isn't worth paying 50-100 more for, everyone would just complain and Switch 2 wouldn't sell

Will they fix the laggy ass eshop?

90% of third party devs are doing the key-card thing because it's cheaper for them.
it's really put me off buying a switch 2 seeing how prevalent it is.
it's especially grating when the switch 1 versions of those games ARE on the cart.
just makes me want to buy the switch 1 version.

That's a pants on head retarded cost cutting decision because you just threw away way more money by not using the more expensive next gen development, I'm telling you, a mid gen pro console doesn't contain multiple generations worth of tech advancements and require an emulation layer to play the games it's a pro console for, none of what you are saying makes sense, if Nintendo were making a pro console which clearly they weren't it would have been redone as the Oled, not the Switch 2.

There should be footage somewhere.

it's fixed

10% better perfomance isn't worth paying 50-100 more for, everyone would just complain and Switch 2 wouldn't sell

oh i didn't complain about the performance.
it's just that the anon talked about low resolution in switch 2 games and i gave what is, in my opinion, a likely explanation.

and if we really are to talk about price and performance, the normal steam deck for 400$ achieves similar handheld performance (sometimes worse sometimes better, it depends) to the switch 2.
nintendo to expects to sell 150$ of these, i'm sure they can get better deals than valve which sold what? 5 million steam decks?
of they wanted to they could sell the switch 2 at 350$ and still make a profit

achieves similar handheld performance

It's nowhere close. If you don't know what you're talking about just go you know where
youtube.com/watch?v=Lw5QmKXDUGo

what you said makes sense, i was wrong then

i will watch the video but from what i know they are similar because the elden ring footage looked just like the steam deck and elden ring is a game i know well

and require an emulation layer to play the games it's a pro console for

This is the definitive proof that the Switch 2 was never the Switch Pro. The most likely way that the Switch Pro rumor became a thing is that people saw leaks of the OLED and leaks of the Switch 2 early development and got their wires crossed. That or the OLED was going to be a larger upgrade but Nintendo decided that the screen and dock was enough.

My problems with the resolution is that either you get a non integer resolution or a lower res than the original Switch if games are 1080 while docked, which means that games will in terms of resolution clarity look worse than the original Switch in handheld, I seriously hope Nintendo sets a standard for their published games so that they all hit 1080 while in handheld, but then Donkey Kong Bananza, Monolith Soft and Good-Feel all exist.

what you said is literally a lie

Wont buy Switch 2 KEY carts. Fuck that.

I'm probably just going to play 3ind Waher GCN or some shit, I just finished XC2 and XC3 back to back so I really have no big games left in my Switch 1 backlog, why oh why did Nintendo think a Mario Kart game is a good launch exclusive?

Buying an overpriced toy for manchildren

Lol no

why oh why did Nintendo think a Mario Kart game is a good launch exclusive?

because MK is the Switch 1's best selling game

Do you guys like my switch mod?

I got the Mario Kart bundle and DK Bananza.
Should probably get a pro controller too but I'd prefer to save some money and wait for a converter that enables the PS5 controller to work with the Switch 2.

I actually have a question. So if I bought TOTK and Kirby ATFL now with game vouchers, then upgraded to the Switch 2 versions of both games later, it'd be cheaper than buying the Switch 2 versions of them wholesale, right? I'm in the UK if it makes any difference.

christ that's dumb

My launch games will be Mario Kart World, Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma and Fast Fusion. I'm excited, I love the Switch and I'm still playing it to death (on Banjo Tooie right now) but specs-wise I'm really ready to move on. I just got a fancy new TV to use it with too.

Tell me this isn’t real

I skipped the switch but I’m considering getting a switch 2 since it plays the previous console’s games too. What are the essential games in your opinion?

$100(plus tax) for 2 game vouchers, $20 for Kirby, $10 for TOTK=~$135
Vs
Get a used copy of Kirby for $40 on Walmart/Gamestop etc+ a used copy of TOTK for $45+ $30 for the upgrade packs=~$120

why oh why did Nintendo think a Mario Kart game is a good launch exclusive?

LMFAO

70 million sold on Switch alone

Just a few off the top of my head, there are definitely more depending on your tastes:
Super Mario Odyssey, Super Mario Bros Wonder, Zelda BotW/TotK/LA/EoW, Luigi's Mansion 3, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (even with World coming), Smash Bros Ultimate, Xenoblade 1/2/3/X, Metroid Dread, Pokémon Legends Arceus, Pikmin 4, Splatoon 3, Fire Emblem Three Houses, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Astral Chain.

Last night I had the displeasure of stumbling into feminist Instagram. Every other post was an American woman talking about "How to survive fascism". The secondhand embarassment levels I felt while reading were off the charts. How can anyone write such demonstrably false drivel and not only not be called out on it, but also have it circlejerked?

Meanwhile there are countries elsewhere that are ACTUALLY fascist, as in, they follow the real Italian fascist manifesto and it shapes all of their laws and policies. So disrespectful to the people who actually live in these regimes.

My bank account weeps, but I can’t say I’m not excited to get started

In terms of exclusives?
Essential

Metroid Dread

Metroid Prime Remastered

Xenoblade X Definitive Edition

Highly recommend

Astral Chain

Another Code Recollection

Bayonetta Origins

Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate (unless you can play it on PC at 60fps)

Avoid

Endless Ocean Luminous (I'm still mad)

Paper Mario Origami King

Super Mario Party

Princess Peach Showtime

AVOID!!!

Pokemon Sword and Shield

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Detective Pikachu Returns

I'm doing Mario Kart World, Street Fighter, Cyberpunk, Puyo Puyo Tetris, and Fast Fusion
MKW because I like Mario Kart and I have literally always dreamt of an open world one where all the tracks were on the same landmass since seeing tracks making cameos in the skyboxes of Double Dash
Street Fighter because I currently bring my PS5 to work with me to practice combos, and doing things with the Switch 2 would require so much less carrying
Cyberpunk because it's got cross save with the PC version and I've been looking for a reason to get back into my week 1 completed save file
Puyo Puyo Tetris because I am a slave to the Tetris machine. I think PPT2S is going to be a huge fucking waste of money considering it seems to be $40 without an option to discount upgrade from the Switch 1 version of PPT2, but if it has even one millisecond less of input delay then I have to know
And Fast Fusion because that's going to be a guaranteed sleeper hit. $15 for a followup to a dope and underrated racing game is a no brainer

Based deal seeker. To add onto this, if you have a membership at a wholesale warehouse like Costco or Sam's Club, you can typically get digital purchase gift cards at like 10% discounts. They sell $100 Eshop cards for $90, and using this to get vouchers has been an excellent way to keep costs down

I think Super Mario Odyssey is the safest bet. It's not getting a Switch 2 version or a "replacement" game, and it's just really damn solid. Metroid Dread is also really great, as well as the remaster for Prime 1.

Do you guys think MK8 Deluxe servers will still be populated when MK World comes out?

Avoid

>Super Mario Party

Anon is right. Arguably the worst game I've bought in recent memory, at least with any amount of excitement attached to it. The following two Mario Party games on the Switch shit all over it in comparison

Nah Pokemon Sword is decent, especially when used copies go for $30 now.

It was easy enough to find people on MK Wii up until online shut down.

what are the chances that we'll see NSO have metroid prime 1/2, mario kart double dash, pikmin 1/2, paper mario ttyd, luigi's mansion, twilight princess

this thread is so gross lol just a bunch of tendies slopping their sloppa

oh yes i preslopped my sloppy sloppa, yes i could buy it later when it actually has games and good battery (never) but i need to sloppy the sloppa day-1 by preslopping the slopiest slop from NIGtendo

lol what the fuck

all of them are likely expect the ones with switch ports/remasters

best post ITT

Any game where you have to self regulate difficulty is automatically a 1/10.

The wait is actually killing me.
At least I get to fuck a hot chubby this week, so it will keep me entertained for a while.

Do we know yet if the Mario Kart bundle comes with a code or if the game is already downloaded onto the console?

hell yeah time to play the newest Mario Kart game

get into bed with my Switch 2(TM)

get comfy

boot up Picross S8 by Jupiter

it's a code

Luigis Mansion 50%

Are you retarded? They even showed it on the GCN reveal among other games.
Pikmin 1 and 2 already have a Switch version, censored even, so yeah, I doubt it

The ones I am really interested are:
Rogue Squadron 2 and 3
Eternal Darkness
Smash Bros Melee

Extremely based desu

Forgot Kirby Air Ride and Cubivore.
Since Kirby air ride is getting a sequel soon, this one might come sooner than expected.

I haven't pre-ordered anything because I expect the console to be easily available in my country. Preferably the console alone as I don't exactly care for Mario Kart, but I'll go with the MKW bundle if the first option isn't possible. Yakuza Zero and Kunitsugami are the launch titles I do plan to get though.

I'm also looking forward to the BC improvements on Switch games, between Resident Evil 6, Xenoblade 2, the musou games, R-Type Final 2, etc.

Since Kirby air ride is getting a sequel soon, this one might come sooner than expected.

if anything it's the opposite
