Taking away the blame from yourself and putting it on others. Not because you are prideful but because your self esteem has gotten so low that you create these grand narratives as a cope.

I've said this before, I'll say it again, Chujin is the classic mad scientist. His chief flaws are obsession and hubris. He's too obsessed with his goals to ever stop, slow down, or even consider whether this is really the right thing he's doing, and this leads to hubris where he constantly pushes forward to fast and overestimates his abilities. He really is a genius who can do great things, but refuses to recognize what limits he has or where he should stop, and he's punished because of it. The reason he failed to get the royal scientist position is because he demonstrated Axis before it was ready, multiple times. The reason he died is because he was too gung ho with his experimentation and didn't take any safety precautions.

But then he couldn't slow down and be safe with his work, and it blew up in his face. Like I said, classic mad scientist.
Really its a shame they didn't make him the villain of UTY instead, since he would've done the same job as roba, but a lot better.
