It depends on the type. For something like garam masala, buying premixed makes sense because who the fuck stocks 15 types of extremely specific Indian spices in their house?
But pretty much all "spice mixes" outside of that are a scam unless you're cooking at an airbnb or something, they're overpriced and stale, and mostly salt and MSG. Having a decent amount of whole dried spices in your kitchen and freshly grinding them yourself will get you better mileage and flexibility.

It's cost effective man. Pay a little extra for individual spices and you'll get way more seasoning over time, it won't expire or nothing. Shredding your own block cheese takes time, but then it won't be covered in that corn starch powder. I actually don't mind jarred salsa, but it's more of a concern when you start worrying about sodium intake, since pre-made stuff is usually loaded with it.

Mexicans use fresh ingredients and dried peppers on their tacos. The meat is usually brisket or steak. The seasoning on the meat is added later depending on the dish.

Carne asada rules and makes for excellent tacos and quesadillas. It completely changed my perspective on mexican food, especially quesadillas which up until now I just saw as something for picky kids to eat with that shitty appliance that precuts them. I don't think Mexicans use much seasonings into their cut meat. They just use salt and pepper with some onion and garlic put into boil with it. The seasoning comes with the spicy salsa and diced onions, beets, lime, and cilantro.
