Yes. There's no actual cap to flowers like you believe when they say daily missions and daily rewards from the town.

You can farm infinite flowers from missions. Once you find all the strangelings from random drops the boxes still drop but now you get flowers from them.

I used to use gathering guys but duglas fucked up an excellent I was prepping on a giant ore so I traded him out for gathering/combat guys.
I got a blacksmith and tailor recently so I'm gonna use them to cheese out some stupid strong gear.

Fighting enemies is a major part of the game, all your other jobs funnel into combat. Your gatherers get materials for your crafters to turn into gear and consumables for your combat. You ideally want to use EVERYTHING, even doing all combat jobs since each has their own gimmicks.

a fair amount, you need to do it to get through the story, you'll need combat skills to go through dungeons to get the best materials for crafting ect

It depends on how tight the window is. If it's generous enough to hit consistently then that's a ton of fun, but a tight window that's hard to time becomes more frustrating than anything.

yes, but i find that i quickly forget my goals and just head-empty gather materials. upside is that you're never "wasting" your time doing that.
the combat is simple/shallow depending on your outlook so just pick the class that has the most addictive button presses. combat is solved if you bring npc buddies that have their special moves unlocked via affinity. the back-half of the main story becomes combat-heavy.

the daily tasks for flowers are infinite so it seems, i play all day and never run out of them and they give you 5-15 for very trivial tasks you do just playing the game, like gathering and making items, picking up bugs ect

When should I start making outfits for non-combat jobs? The level one/two outfits don't seem to have any stats that benefit those jobs. I know they can roll random traits that improve stuff but is there any way to match certain clothes to certain jobs? The "miner" outfit doesn't seem to offer anything special to mining for example (unless it's more likely to roll traits for mining, I haven't checked yet)

If they made a Musician life that let you freeform play like OoT or FFXIV's Bard I'd be willing to call this the best game ever made

due to no life limits on outfits and the fact that you're literally only wearing them when you do their one job I don't think there's much use outside like SP increases on gatherers. It's been so many years but I feel like it wasn't until master job outfits that you even got boosts on them, really I'd just slap them on for the swag, after all people you play with are going to see what you're wearing when you switch to miner or whatever do you really want to look like a scrub?
Really you could just put your main combat outfit on every life and transmog it. If the outfits give actual gathering and craft boosts later then we can worry about it.

you can just open your pad and eat items mid combat from the items menu INSTANTLY so you don't have to be locked into an animation to heal

You unlock the "outfit" menu option basically at the start of the game which lets you set the cosmetic look of your different lifes vs the actual gear equipped

Magician has an awful start
once you unlock your other spells and get your meteor shower special skill it feels much better
their strong attack aoe is also bretty nice
meditation should definitely not take as long as it does though lol

You can make really good carpenter-based weapons for the class early on since the first buddy you get is a carpenter. Making a perfect oak staff at level 1 will give you a huge boost

It's just really well-made. Gathering and crafting is fun, there's tons to explore and 100+ hours of content, combat is simple but enjoyable, you can recruit companions and build houses for them to live next to you, etc. I have been playing for 10 hours straight and I don't particularly like life sim games.

Each life in this game has a pretty decent skill tree with abilities to unlock. The 4 combat classes can get pretty in-depth later on.

The melee classes play like Link in LoZ where you can charge up a spinny attack, block attacks, do jump attacks, charge at enemies, etc. Mage can swap between elements and charge up huge nukes. IDK about hunter I never tried it.

even if you have 2 cook strangelings, one will be better for cooking deserts and one will be better at something else
i don't think there's any overlap, they're all specialized for something different

You use Celestial Flowers on them at the Goddess Statue to turn back to humans.
"Dupes" are acquired from max bonding with the human version; the "dupe" is just whatever they were found initially as a new item/equipment/etc for you.
Some of them have personal passives that others don't, like some characters give specific boosts when they're in a party with specific characters they have a bond with (normally from their 3DS or Online lore).

That sucks, I'm also stuck with 5/5 and no matter how many I finish it's still at 5/5
