Sony are losi-ACK
Sony are losi-ACK
revenue
That includes how much money that was spent. What you want is PROFITS, meaning how much money they made only.
spends like a retard
look Anon Babble sony is WINNING
Profits don't matter
the last time i saw one of these charts nintendo had twice the real profit even though they spend and make back like 1/3rd what sony does
zuby_tech
of course. now show how piss5 sold this year vs last year
It's selling better
but how much did the CEO get in his bonus???
Nigger why you calling this the "big 3" like Valve didn't generate 10 billion dollars in fucking sales last year no one cares about your child toys
Sony puts more of their money back into games because their games cost a lot more to make. That doesn't always work out for them because those live service games like Concord, Fairgame$, and Marathon might as well be Sony straight up burning the cash instead. Even something like Spider Man 2 is something that Sony might only barely turn a profit with because it probably cost more than most of Nintendo's Switch 1 exclusives combined to make and needs 10 million copies or something ludicrous like that to break even. Meanwhile some low budget game is making a hefty profit despite selling 2 million copies.
10 billion is smaller than 31 billion, steamies are nothing to Playstation
Reminder that Microsoft and Sony overstate revenue by booking the full price of third party games, MTX and DLC sales instead of their 30 percent cut. Nintendo ONLY books its 30 percent cut in revenue. In other words, Sony's revenue is about 10 billion and Xbox is less thann7 billion.
Valve didn't generate 10 billion dollars in fucking sales last year
Xbox is more popular than steam
Do you have the self awareness to realize you sound like a child?
wait a minute...
now show the list of failed live services
Now remove micro transactions from shit like FIFA, Genshit and Fortnite for Sony.
nintendo has a health profit margin, sony does not
Nintendo's 30% cut of MTX is going to be a lot smaller than the others. Most of the whales are on Playstation for games like Fortnite and Call of Duty, both of their respective court cases showed that. It's the Paypigstation.
t.commie
nope
you get retards that pretend steam deck is a switch competitor
if you don't this form of revenue then its less revenue
Profound
ah i see
revenue equals good games yes?
Revenue
Profit margins is the only stat that actually matters in business and everything else is just jewish obfuscation
raise price of psn
line goes up
:0
You tendies act like sales in Japan = good games but suddenly global sales don't mean the games are good?
That just means nintendo fans are consuming cheaper to make products at the same price as everyone else lmao.
People pay more for a good product
Yes tendie that's how it works, also why the shitch poo is on track to flop
That explains a lot
Pull up global profit margins for Sony and Nintendo if you think that way, but it's not going to end well for you my dear snoy
Alright now lets see their expenditures.
No it's not Eric. It is selling worse dor two years
$31.74 in revenue for the entire year
Lmao Sony is COOKED
If only something big happend the past 4 years that could impact this.
You do know shit changes in 4 years, right? I know you dont, but normal things evolve over time
my favorite console made the most money by releasing zero games. i won.
Nintendo ONLY books its 30 percent cut
What? They would get 100% revenue from first parties, no? And that's what sells the most at nintendo systems, let's be real here.
You are not a business owner nor a stockholder, profit means NOTHING to the consumer. Revenue shows what the consumer is spending money on and what is more popular. Bringing up profits is jewish obfuscation
But you brag about sales in Japan. Revenue is global sales and Sony is saling more than Nintendo outside of Japan, but then sales don't matter because Nintendo is losing and Sony is winning, tipical tendie delusions kek
two more weeks Eric. Literally. And another ten years of seething for you. I can't wait.
Why the fuck would we care about profit margins? Raw revenue is an indicator on how much stuff they are selling which translates to overall consumer popularity.
Impressive. Very nice. Now let's see Sony's debts.
guiz trust me literally everyone went to steam now trust me bro
even though PC marketshare has been going down since 2018
LMAO
Checks [[[analyst]]] account
all snoy posting
Every single post is set up to frame Sony and Playstation in the best possible light, any scrutiny is buried and are often missing sources.
False
yes i know, real profit is something that's rarely talked about by console warriors simply because it's not a huge number like revenue is
it's also a very uniquely american brain poison to subscribe to that belief that more money in = more money out, hence sony finally fired jim ryan and are probably gonna fire hermen hulst after marathon is a second concord
It means that more people are playing Fortnite, FIFA and CoD and buying season passes on PS than on the Switch.
Yeah, so PS5 and Xbox are better products than nintendo for people who want to play those games which happen to be the actual most popular games in the videogame industry. This would mean nintendo is a niche console for a niche market. Really makes one think....
Hi Zuby. Other way around
This would mean nintendo is a niche console for a niche market.
If 152 million is niche then the piss5 is a flop at 77
So true, nobody plays videogames on the switch. What's the attach rate for PS5 and Xbox looking like again?
Reminder that Microsoft and Sony overstate revenue by booking the full price of third party games, MTX and DLC sales instead of their 30 percent cut.
This is the correct way to do it under IFRS, since the cash goes to them first and then the 70% is paid out to the publisher. The initial payment is typically the taxable event for non-cumulative taxes in most jurisdictions they operate in, so booking the net 30% would cause an inconsistency between the recognized revenue and the corresponding tax expense. I would assume Nintendo does it differently because third party sales aren't as representative of their total revenue from game sales
revenue
You know that the Switch is still out selling the PS5? The inflated number is because gambling addicts will outspend regular videogames consumers any day of the week.
Do you have any proof of this?
Fortnite is big on Switch. So is Minecraft. Nintendo only books their 30 percent. Obviously Nintendo books 100 percent for their FIRST PARTY GAMES. Sony and Microsoft accounts revenue as though all third party games are THEIR first party games. In other words, Sony treats/accounts Madden and Call of Duty as first party games. That is called, creative accounting.
buy one get one free
count both as sales
Wouldn't Nintendo follow Japanese accounting standards or do they use IFRS too?
It's not, that's debunked
Reminder Sony doesn't use sell through for PS5 sales, but sell in (basically they only count the consoles that are sold to retailers).
It amazes me that people dont know about the accounting Sony and Microsoft does to get those big revenue numbers. They have been doing that for decades.
PS games are so good you can keep playing them for years and they never get old. Nintendo games can be beaten in 8 hours on average.
That doesn't mean 152 million different people own a switch. We know fairly well how nintendo fans (cultists) like to own multiple nintendo consoles from the same generation as some sort of collection (or rather because the stick drift gets so bad they have to get a whole new system lmao)
Why do you simp for a company? They aren't going to start releasing games if you keep denying the reality of their shoddy sales.
Even if that is true Sony still beats nintendo by a couple billion lol
Oh it's an eric thread, looking forward to half the comments getting deleted by his mod friend.
so many retardation in so many words
But enough about the shitch 2 having no games.
It's from their IR
lol no it’s not profits are important as is cost. It’s why you get retards asking why “game A” was a flop but “game B” wasn’t if they both sold a million copies. It’s cause one was made with a shoe string budget and the other had 5000 employees attached to it
more exclusive in few months than piss5 in five years. You already lost macaco
So Sony pays taxes on the full revenue?
This, reminder that half the job of an accountant is to jew the books to confuse and impress the layman
Can't even defend yourself without acting like a child. Grow up already, sony doesn't care for you and neither does anyone here.
Two more weeks of this, what's the next stage of Nintendo Derangement Syndrome going to be after 5/6?
revenue
post profit you retard gorilla nigger
BINGO!!! Ive told people time and time again, look at a company's behavior to really determine their financial situation. Microsoft and Sony is acting the same (being like a third party publisher, doing massive layoffs, shutting studios) while Nintendo isn't.
You pay taxes on income not revenue.
Not really. Who knows what other creative accounting techniques they use for HARDWARE.
Last time I checked it was 27 BILLION dollars.
Nintendo is charging $80 for a $20 good, resulting in a higher ratio of profit:revenue. This is a good thing! Now let me get my $500 Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order...
Where would the revenue come from if one was free
Most accounting standards aren't meaningfully different from IFRS at this point in time. I think that any differences in practice between Nintendo and the other two are more likely due to the particulars of the operation rather than due to GAAP.
Yes, in most jurisdictions that is how it works. Although the key point is that these taxes will be non cumulative, so the "expense" of giving the 70% cut to the third party will generate a corresponding tax credit will be recouped. The de facto tax payer is the final customer, not the companies.
Not to play snoy's advocate, but the raw debt size doesn't mean much, you need to see the debt to equity ratio to judge if a company is healthy or not, some debt is actually good for financial leverage and as a tax shield.
seethe. sony's movies are not worth $70
Is there a chart for net profit?
Not important
I'm a PChad
Don't they count PSVR2 and Portal as PS5 sales?
why not?
Entering 100 dollars revenue and 70 expenses on a sale is considered the same thing as entering 30 dollars revenue and no expenses except you get to add over 3 times the revenue number into your books with the first option so it impresses the simple minded (Snoys).
However, PlayStation’s operating profit margin was just 7%, slightly up from 6% in the same period last year. This is something industry analysts pointed out back in February 2024, calling these single-digit numbers “extremely disappointing” and “not acceptable.”
gameworldobserver.com
Sony hasn't made double digit profits in gaming for years. They make a lot of revenue but fuck all profits.
Profit
Xbox profit was 25.6 billion
gameworldobserver
Biased source, VG Chartz says otherwise.
I know they do for Portal, not sure about PSVR2
Do you or I get any of that profit?
While the tendies and snoys squabble over peanuts, the Xchads are silently taking over
Big 3
It's always funny to see underlings come up with titles to convince themselves they're in a league of their own and competing against each other, so they can live in ignorance of their superiors.
Can't be the King, so they settle for being the lord of some shitty castle who plays at war with his neighbors, too afraid (or in this case, too incompetent) to venture into the world outside his walls.
Do we get the revenue either?
Yeah mobile is king but at least the consoles make more than steam does
High revenue = high sales = more popular = more likely to get more support
anon, I...
Those numbers don't account for profits derived from sales of games published by "The Big 3" on Steam, which is all anybody buys/plays Microshit games on.
The revenue shows what the consumer, you and I, are spending money on
Those numbers don't account for profits derived from sales of games published by "The Big 3" on Steam
Must not be much since Valve are so low
Revenue shows how popular something is and shows Sony is 4 times more popular than bingtendo
Not if it costs too much to make or maintain
the site quotes playstations financials. here's another source from previously saying the same thing
tweaktown.com
That's the company problem not mine but if they care a bout their costumers they will find a way.
This doesn't show that though. Is this consoles, games, subscriptions, microtransactions? This could mean any number of things. It isn't really more relevant then net profit, which at least shows how successful each business venture is.
Revenue is money that mostly goes out employees, the people actually making the games. Revenue is the real measure of success. Profit doesn't mean shit. Profit is hoarded by the shareholders and executives.
are sonytrannies now bragging about sony throwing billions of dollars into the trash in order to get a concordlike off the ground? lmao these "people" I swear
which at least shows how successful each business venture is
No thats shows which business reinvest their money and others who hoard it for CEO raises
You have two companies
Company 1 spends $50 million in a year and earns $60 million in revenue
Company 2 spends $20 million in a year and earns $35 million in revenue
Which company is doing better?
They clearly dont care about their consumers because they just raised the price of the PS5 again
Company 1
False.
actually based. If profits mattered then Disney would of of gone bankrupt in the early 2000s
would of of
How would you feel if you didn’t have breakfast today?
It's a simple question, I'm not trying to trick anyone.
But just to satisfy you, If I didn't have breakfast, I would go hungry.
Company 2
I didn't have breakfast because I had to rush to work today. Im there now and hungry :(
today
I didn't eat breakfast today so I can tell you now, I'd be hungry.
The question is supposed to be 'how would you feel if you didn't have breakfast yesterday?'
>spends like a retard
oh no muh stockholders
But I did have breakfast
more like muh concord, marathon and fairgames
to be fair what even came out in 2024?
switch 1 life is nearing its limit, anyone who would want it already got it
no good games because switch 2 is coming out soon, I mean come on the biggest release of 2024 was what? zelda echoes of wisdom?
From an advertising loss that is exactly as big as the revenue from the free sale.
Name One game..idk y..
revenue
Okay, now post the profits.
They do now
How embarrassing
Why do people always use Steam to gauge a game's popularity? It's clear when the dockable Xbox handheld comes in 2027 from Microsoft, it's over.
Sony hasn't made double digit profits in gaming for years.
Ohnononononono Sonysissies
