Would it have been regarded the best Final Fantasy game to date?
Would it have been regarded the best Final Fantasy game to date?
It is only known for doxing a brony further.
No, but it'd have been the best since 9
Doesn't even have the acclaim of FFVI VII and X
VII, X and XVII are the best Final Fantasies, only contrarians disagree.
VI
Acclaim
VI is a hipster choice for anons who want internet nerd cred. VII was a cultural phenomenon and X is legitimately beloved two decades later. E33 is a milder VII and and equally praised as X. It's up there. No one actually cares about VI, you need to stop pretending.
Contrarianism isn’t real, but you pretend it is to avoid having to admit to yourself that you have shit taste
VI is a hipster choice
Thats e33 actually.
Better than 7,9, or 10? maybe combat wise but as far as world and characters its not nearly as memorable. Id even argue that the music in old Final fantasy has higher highs than E33 but thats highly preferential between persons
This game has more in common with FF8 than any other, yet it's never even mentioned. Wtf is up with you guys
retard
for me its 5 i saw a bunch of people hyping it up as great one of the best whatever and it was really just ok
Contrarianism isn't real
Anon Babble's existence and the deployment of pejoratives like "normie" to cope are proof that it is, fag boy. VII and X > your favorite FF. Truth hurts.
Would it have been regarded the best Final Fantasy game to date?
Absolutely not. It doesn't have a fraction of the soul that peak FF does.
VI is a hipster choice
And E33 is literally the most pretentious vidya since Senua.
The hugely successful new IP that everyone is talking about is a hipster choice
That's a bruh from me, bruh.
It's better than any Final Fantasy, so I don't see why not.
FF8 sucks but it inspired E33 so we've refrained from shitting on it out of gratitude.
No, it would not
Yes
Third best to VII and XIV
E33 sucks too, ya'll are just attracted to the underdog success story, which is ironic considering the leads are ex-Ubisoft. Game will be forgotten as quickly as Metaphor, and will only be remembered next year when the live action film (it's already a moviegame lmao) is cancelled.
I mean it's genre redefining and brought tons of people who don't play JRPGs, if it was done by square enix it would've saved them. But no they're obsessed with cinematic action shit apparently.
the absolute cope
Best since X, but that's not saying much
Never buying your French parry slop frogboy.
I mean it's genre redefining
it's literally french persona please shut the fuck up
genre redefining
It's just Paper Mario with QTEs. What genre are we redefining with this one?
cancelled
Kepler managed to get an animated series made of Sifu of all properties, now that they struck gold with E33 they're not going to let it go.
Plus they're already throwing their earnings back into indie game deals, I wouldn't mind them becoming the new Devolver
E33 is literally the most pretentious vidya
It really isn't tho. It's just some frenchies making a game paying homage to late 90s early 2000s JRPGs, with aspects (music, visuals) that are undoubtly french.
the story is pretentious and it can be proved by the fact that people who like it think it makes them smart or something
Not with that bad sidecontent and balance.
E33
pretentious
I wonder what pretentious means for you.
Last pretentious vidya I played was mouthwashing and it doesn't come close as far as own fart sniffing goes
Saying something is pretentious is often just a way of admitting you're an idiot.
E33's story being the perfect example.
I wonder what pretentious means for you.
This game is a swiss watch on the outside but if you break it open it's basically some battery powered plastic piece of shit from Temu.
No, E33 is legitimately great, I'm not sorry this upsets you.
What you wrote doesn't even make sense. How is E33's story a perfect example of someone saying something is pretentious being a way of them admitting their an idiot? Do you even mentally process the stupid shit you type before you hit enter?
French persona
This game is actually fun and not a complete fucking waste of time for weebs who try to live vicariously through shitty high school VNs, so no, they're nothing alike.
jrpgs are unrealistic, western writing is just better than even chrono trigger
youtube.com
To be fair, high school is the last time Japanese people lived their lives, cut them some slack
It never pretends to be some kind of philosophical masterpiece and is absolutely clear on what it wants to convey. There is a moral dilemma in the endings and some people fight each other online over it but that's it.
You can find the themes of the game basic and boring but as long as the game doesn't sniff its own farts why call it pretentious
Parry window is tighter and attack patterns are much harder. TTYD was my favorite JRPG until E33 dropped.
I don't think the story itself is pretentious at all. While it's not really that, it's set up as journey to defeat God, which is lthe most JRPG thing I can think of.
admitting their an idiot?
They're*, for one. E33's story isn't pretentious. It does not purport to be more meaningful and/or important than it is. What that anon is saying is that the word pretentious is used flippantly by people like yourself who are simply too fucking stupid to follow a storyline and thereby react by calling it pretentious. It isn't pretentious. You're just dumb, homie. Also, let me guess
You haven't played the game
You don't know how the story unfolds
You've just entered threads on Anon Babble and made your own deductions from there and made up bullshit to cope
That was a ten minute short made as part of the anthology series "Secret Level" created by Tim Miller (the revolutionary director of such memorable films as Deadpool and Terminator: Dark Fate) and produced by Amazon. Speaking of which, a feature fiilm of Sifu has been in production limbo since 2022 and is currently tied to Netflix.
When's the last time you played (or watched, have they even produced anything with their film studio?) a Devolver production?
we'll see in the following years if there aren't copycats who do turn based but with a parry.
What do you like about it?
turn based games are dea-ACK!
I loved Sifu. I only checked in on Secret Level for that Sifu episode. It was really, really fucking bad. If that's the level of translation I can expect, I hope they leave E33 the fuck alone.
Everything. Besides you not having played it and being a coping queer on 4chinz, what do you dislike about it?
It never pretends to be some kind of philosophical masterpiece
Who said it did? It's pretentious on many other counts. "That iron dirt, that eternal law. Those who can't see. Those who know not that they are not." Is pretty fucking pretentious writing.
Everything.
They're*, for one.
He took the typo bait.
Didn't read the rest, you lost.
Anon who doesn't grasp the literal definition of pretentious continues to incorrectly call something pretentious
Kek.
Oh yeah, some of the phrasing and some of the dialogue is very pretentious, as it wants to be some kind of poetry or some shit.
Dialogs, art direction, writing, combat presentation and animations, music
There is a lot to like, the better question, is what you don't like
The game is kino because in a decade everyone in the story will be pulverized by the Kaiser's artillery.
(it's already a moviegame lmao)
4h of cutscenes in a 60h game
brainlet triggered by good prose
oh boy
Typo
That's not a typo, stupid, that's a straight up grammatical error. You can't even grasp the dichotomy between the two, no wonder 'pretentious' eludes your grasp. I accept your copesession.
Alicia likes to read and write poetry you absolute dimwit.
It's a lot better than Metaphor tho, and I don't even like the dodge/parry gimmick
The problem with this game is that it likes to sniff its own farts far too much.
FF has never done this except when they want to have fun.
Metaphor is garbage but exp33 is actually good. I just dont know why people keep putting it next to FF. Its not FF, it will never be FF and it doesnt need to be FF.
In many ways, it is, AT LEAST, better than most rpgs but it doesnt reach the highs of FF.
FF has never done this
Fabula Nova Crystalis
prose
poetry
Make your mind up gaylords because those two things are completely opposed to eachother.
double baited
Holy fuck you baguette defence force faggots are something else. Just wear a badge with E33 and tell people that's your personality and be done with it.
Nope it would still be FFVI which is considered the best classic RPG of all time next to the overrated Chrono Trigger
I baited u bro, I only PRETENDED to be retarded
Yeah okay retard.
I've heard Alicia's writings are straight fire.
delet this
doesnt reach the highs of FF
What highs you homosexual? FF has raped itself for DECADES at this point. The only game that retains any degree of respect is FF6
You are a retard.
Nothing in Exp33 reaches the highs of bahamut vs ifrit in FFXVI.
the highs of bahamut vs ifrit in FFXVI
Pfft you pathetic zoomer. Kys at the earliest. You just want shiny lights like the drug addicted failure you are.
It would be considered a flop if it was FFXVII
E33 gets an insane amount of positivity around here for Anon Babble's standards. I think it's the first time I see the positivity overwhelm the two idiots being contrarians
Nothing in Exp33 reaches the highs of bahamut vs ifrit in FFXVI.
hahahaha
oh wow
Listen man, i get off at great music and hype moments, you get off at...whatever exp33 gives you, i guess it is characters looking intensely at each other? Games needs highs and lows. Not just mediums otherwise you get stuff like DQ.
Its not positivity towards exp33, it is just spite towards FF. Most of the shills are just ex-FF fans that act like your crazy ex-girlfriend that cant accept you dont pay them attention anymore. They keep messaging you like "look how much happier i am now", but the moment you message them back, they are all over your dick.
honestly this. It would be nothing if say EA was the publisher instead of Kepler.
not open world
beautiful characters
turn based
well paced
It checks a lot of Anon Babble's standards
i guess it is characters looking intensely at each other?
Not to ride on this game's baguette too much but Lune's death stare hit me extremely hard for how subdued of a moment it is.
Man, the only good eikon fight in XVI was Ifrit vs Ifrit because it had actual emotional build up and payoff. The writers couldn't even find a feasible way to pit Dion against Clive so it was just
Um, he kills his dad
And now he's CUUUURRAAAAZY
And it was a shitty panzer dragoon fight, I bought that game day 1 and it was dogshit, not worth being mentioned in the same breath as E33, let alone FF as a whole. Shit game, fuck the MMOfags for hyping up Yoshi P and his shitty ass writing team.
5 is the best if you like gameplay in your games.
not agreeing with the majority of the same population that led to games like Suicide Squad and Final Fantasy 16 being made is a bad thing
Not that anon, but I definitely wouldn't mind dying on that hill. X's design mixed with its success directly led to FFXIII by the way. They're extremely similar, but it's the popular thing to shit on XIII while praising X and ignoring the similarities in designing and pacing, so let's just pretend X was a flawless masterpiece. V, XI, and XII are the best games in the series and great RPGs on their own. This is an objective fact.
you get off at...whatever exp33 gives you
great music and hype moments, i'd say
Tranny--go back to idling in Limsa and queue up a hallway while you're at it.
I dont know about that. Ifrit vs ifrit wasnt really ifrit vs ifrit since you didnt really fight him properly, it was qte.
I prefer bahamut vs ifrit/phoenix because 1. it is an actual fight, in outer space, with epic music and great build up and final.
As simple as that.
I dont remember much of the music since it wasnt really recognizable, but the only highlight i can remember is Clea boss fight and Simon. Clea at least was memorable since it was a real fight, not bullshit. Simon was cut short thanks to Maelle one shotting him.
I dont remember much of the music since it wasnt really recognizable
Yeah... Ok. You do you, FFXVI enjoyer, I guess.
same population that led to games like Suicide Squad and Final Fantasy 16
I'm sorry, you mean the two properties that were rejected by the same public and are widely considered failures? What fucking point are you trying to make, you retard?
XIII and X have similarities
Yes. And yet their executions are vastly different, explaining why one received praise and the other did not. FF8 and E33 are also very similar, but they're not the same game. What fucking stupid point are you TRYING to make? That movies, novels and games can have similarities to one another while varying wildly in their execution and thus their quality? Is this a revelation to you?
X was a flawless masterpiece
Nothing's flawless, but X is a masterpiece. Feel free to cope.
V, XI
Best in the series
Totally.
XII
My personal favorite, but I accept its outlier status in the franchise.
My opinions are objective fact
Contrarian retard. You're so fucking stupid I want you to keep posting so I can keep laughing at you.
Fair enough, some people liked the eikon fights in XVI but I thought all of them save Clive essentially punching himself in the dick until he accepted the truth to be bland, overdrawn spectacles of nothing. I LOVED the 1v1 fight when it was just Clive and Hugo. But ifrit vs Titan was just a drawn out cutscene with no stakes. To each his own, glad you liked the game. If it's worth anything, I loved XVI's DLC. The moon warrior guy in the leviathan DLC was my favorite fight in the entire game. Great stuff. Wish the entire game had been like that.
FFXVI enjoyer, I guess.
I actually found FFXVI kinda just ok. It was undercooked. At least it is better than FFXV.
As for the music in Exp33, it is unrecgonizable. It has the elden ring syndrome: good atmosphere music, but not enough recognizable hummable tunes. I only remember some, like lumiere, maybe the battle system. And the music fits the game and it is overrall good, but i dont remember the tunes at all. All i remember is that they fit the zone you are in. Thats the definition of atmospheric music. They are not music you go to youtube to listen unless you use it to study.
Shit, didn't mean to greentext. But enjoy XVI, anon. I hated 90% of it, but the 10% I liked I like a lot.
