Is this what contact lenses feel like?
Is this what contact lenses feel like?
The first week of wearing contact lenses is definitely terrifying. Feels like people don't talk about it that much. And fuck dailies, that shit makes me want to tear my retinas out once they start to itch.
What brand do you use now? I like the idea of having a full FOV that my glasses don't box in but I'm not sure if its worth the hassle.
A gang called the la provocateurs actually tried to do this shit to me in france with a pocket knife, but somebody came around the corner and they hid the knife that was just about in my eye behind one of their backs and walked away. This was all because I was brushing my teeth with baking soda and they thought it was coke after pondering it for a bit and trying to remember the words I dont understand.
only the limited to one day hard plastic chink shit
I use daily contacts and they're fine. Maybe one in a hundred contacts they'll only stay comfortable for like an hour before suddenly burning, which can be annoying, but typically 10-12 hours of use isn't an issue.
Sounds rough. Luckily since I live rurally I don't have to deal with violent people like that. Though I do worry about some of the ones that talk to themselves. You're lucky to still have your eyeballs.
Just wear glasses, moron.
At least you will look slightly smarter than you actually are.
You definitely want to try out a lot of different brands and types. The feel varies incredibly. Pay attention to base curve (BC on the box). If you have a set that you like but they keep sliding around change the BC and try again. Never wear contanct all 7 days a week. Pick a day for glasses and let your eyes rest. DRINK WATER! I wore contacts for 26 years, and they were worth it the entire time because they offer superior vision correction compared to glasses.
BUT
I did LASIK some years back and it's wonderful. Just excellent. Total cost was a but under $3k and it was worth it forever and ever. IF you have any type of income, start saving and be disciplined. It won't take that long as it's by far the best option.
I can’t get contacts in I have tiny mole eyes and long girly lashes, and I can’t get surgery because my cornea are warped
I just wore colored contacts for a convention for the entire weekend for the first time and I don't understand what you mean. The only spooky thing was learning to put them in and take them out, and finding out I can't rub my eyes at all even with them closed
Just wear glasses
Nobody likes guys in glasses I have literally never ever ever heard a girl express the preference
Lasik looks literally like the OP pic. Did it hurt much?
for first timers maybe, sometimes when i put my dailies on they sting from dryness and i have to dip them in solution after i cry my eye out. it's a smooth process otherwise
beats looking like nerd
i hate myself for being a fat and lazy child between the ages of 10-15, because my vision went bad cause I literally never went out in the sun and ate fast food all the time. same prescription for 5 years since then
Sounds like an excuse to me
what was the point of this, just for shock value?
No, but it was very weird. You're awake the whole time and they offer you drugs (diazapam in my case). You're numb and somewhat paralyzed but can still twitch. It's fast and the whole time I just thought about getting a blow job to keep my mind busy. There's strange flashes of light or little "sparks" in your vision. It takes several hours to see anything of consequence and a few weeks to see well enough to drive. 6 months is the full recovery time. It made my learn to use voice2txt on my phone because I couldn't see the keyboard well.
Yeah, it is a horror game before EA decided for it to not be.
Good game
last levels
level design goes out of the window for endless zombie arenas
Dead Space 2 is 99% action, 1% horror.
You fly around doing set pieces like Nathan Drake, spout quips at the femme fatale, and mow through necromorphs who now get stun-locked by machine guns.
I can't even get LASIK. They say the only option for me is to get my eye cut and that shitty ass lense implanted at the back of the eyes. it's some condition that I am not willing to find out the name of in English. Yeah I am gonna trust those butchers with cutting my eyes after they couldn't figure out the condition for those 14 years I used the glasses. I can't use normal contacts either btw, condition remember? Glasses it is for life.
The worst is that the Nicole boss fight just kinda sucks. At least DS1 ends with the Hivemind after the zombie hoard. I will give DS3 this, it had the best boss fight of the three.
Kerataconus? I have that they had to scrape away the top layer of my eye and put drops in because my cornea wasn’t working right
1% horror is quite low. I'd say 20% considering you see exploding babies, hoards of children zombies, nicole trauma, ishimura 2.0, and ellie getting her eye yoinked. Its not on the level of DS1 but it tried more than DS3 or even some other "horror" games like Bioshock.
Yeah that one. At least it won't bother me more than this because it's inherited and won't go further.
nicole trauma
Did anyone actually feel anything during these glorified cutscenes beyond boredom?
ellie getting her eye yoinked.
IIRC that happens completely off-screen, Stross pops back up with her eye on a screwdriver then you murder him in a QTE 5 seconds later
They were over the top for me as well. Though the intro somewhat worked. For me the scariest part of DS2 was with civilians trying to evacuate. You see people struggling living their parents behind, kids left in washing machines and evac. ships colliding with one another. It felt like witnessing a national emergency in real time. Theres even the post depression part to go with it in there being nothing but unitologist marker text left.
There's way too many guys with glasses in otome games for that to be true.
I feel like only these rectangle glasses ever work. Every other glasses shape looks goofy to me.
It can be a huge nerf if you already are ugly but glasses aren't going to make you ugly.
Never, ever ever doing LASIK. Too many horror stories and I hope you don't join them.
Round and oval peepaw glasses are where it's at.
I saved up for LASIK then I got scared of by hearing all the stories of people who got unlucky and fucked up vision forever. No refunds
It depends a lot on your head shape and hair
Certain flavors of woman love nerdy twink boys with them big ass gay ass circular glasses. May be your only out if you have no other option
this scene is such a shitty meme
le getting stabbed in the eye is scary isn't it
he is not just getting stabbed in the eye, he is getting stabbed into his head as a whole, he is fucking dead, this is like shooting someone in the head, the bullet going in through the eye doesn't make shit scarier when he dies regardless. The lack of subtlety completely kills any actual horror this scene could have
Contact lenses ruined my life. Severe dry eyes all the time, and cosmetically red and veiny as if I'm on marijuana. Being in front of digital screens all day is another risk factor for dry eyes so combining the two is just playing with fire.
You do not want to test your luck with dry eyes. Look at all the LASIK patients who developed it and killed themselves. I'm lucky enough that the pair went from 7/10 to 3/10 but its still a nuisance and looks like shit and gets worse as you age. Just wear glasses.
Thats only if you fuck up. I actually find the "success" scene more unnerving.

By the way, I haven't played the game
LASIK went great for me went from -6 in both eyes to 20/15 vision. Never had eye dryness issues prior or after and I’m 5 months in and it’s fantastic not seeing everything as a blur, sorry you guys have shit genetics I guess.
Imagine wearing uncomofrtable contact lenses just on the slightest chance for a crumb of pussy
or tards who got eye surgery, cut out nerves that control eye dryness and had to supplement their eyes with 24/7 eye drops or their eyes glue themselves shut
For me its less about looks (though thats a bonus) and more about have a full field of view and not having a box eat up your vision 24/7.
mow through necromorphs who now get stun-locked by machine guns.
Not only is Dead Space 2 harder with more horror than 1, the pulse rifle always stunlocked necromorphs. What 2 really changed was giving Isaac a character for better or worse.
Maybe he just means that the pulse rifle isn't ass in DS2. Also something I notice about DS2s combat is that the necro limbs snap like twigs compared to both DS1 Classic and Remake. As such I think they throw twice as many necros at you as well as making Isaacs health fragile on higher difficulties.
