The game is fast enough, I just want an option to turn off the constant slow motion from parries and melee. Not only is it tedious it doesn't even make it easier, it throws off your timing.

"Parry shots" are so weird in games from a lore perspective. Like what causes the parry shots? Why aren't they all parriable? Do the enemies know what causes the parry shots? If so, why don't they stop it from happening?

Played the first 5 chapters. Game seems alright.
Only thing that seemed really dumb was the tyrant fight since the best strat seems to be just to stand still next to it and blast it with the skull crusher and parry. It dies in seconds. Fighting them in Eternal was way more frantic.
The stand and fight (tm) is also somewhat dumb since in bigger fights you're constantly worried that some small mob will walk up to you and backstab or shoot you from far away. If you're not full health you can easily die to that.
Fighting in general has been satisfying and not too easy on nightmare 120% gamespeed.

They're called cyberdemons again, and yeah the game literally even gives you a load screen tip that says get up close with the cyberdemon to bait(they even use the word bait) parryable melee attacks. It's a questionable decision to make the cyberdemon a melee fighter, but you're really expected to run up to them one you can otherwise they rape your shield with their rapid fire and can summon spikes when you hide. They made the other powerful demons more varied because it's a mix of ranged and melee, but with the cyberdemon you're pretty much forced to fight it close range.

Why would you build a weapon like that?

It's an FPS so most people wouldn't want parrying in it but the presentation definitely hurt it. If you could simply parry any projectile then it would be much better received because it's straightforward and makes sense. I enjoyed the dark ages gameplay I thought it was fun and I kind of want to go back to play even after beating it. My biggest complaint are the filler missions and not enough time is spent in hell. I hope the expansion dlc focuses on that. It also felt like they had 20 different people making maps, some were tight with cool secrets to get to while other had the same issue that some doom 2 maps had being too sprawling.
