Zoomers could NEVER beat this without cheats

Beating the OG version on PS2 is actually really damn HARD, dead serious.

Not only do you have to memorize three entire fucking islands because there is no in-game map and the minimap is near worthless, but there are no checkpoints, you can't insta-restart missions, and a single death or arrest loses you ALL your weapons and equipment.

And the missions themselves are genuinely ballbustingly difficult. There is like 10 separate missions that are an absolute nightmare and each and every one is harder than the complete entirety of GTAIV and GTAV. Turismo, Kingdom Come, Decoy, S.A.M., Espresso 2 Go, A Drop in the Ocean, The Exchange, Grand Theft Aero, Rigged to Blow are all just insane

How did boomers even do it back in the day? Did everyone just use cheats? Did they just fuck around in freeroam and never both beating the game? I play through a lot of tough games, and I was not expecting this much difficulty from GTA3 of all games.

Espresso2Go is almost impossible if you don't save the Patriot for it

It's just oddly balanced. The M16, Ak, and Shotguns, have very high damage, and they can easily kill you up close. You have little control of the camera, so it's easy to not know where an enemy is, turn a corner and you're riddled with bullets. So you have to die a few times until you know enemy placement in shooting missions and take it slowly.

I've beated purple nines rampage... After completing all d-ice missions..

I played through the first 2/3rds of the game as a kid and it was pretty easy. Then I got to Donald Love's missions and I got filtered hard. I passed them a single time, fucked around with the seaplane on the third island, then turned the game off. I went back to it the next day and realized I didn't save, meaning I had to do those teeth-gnashing missions all over again.
I have not touched GTA3 since.

it came with a printed map, of course you could lose it but it was there for everyone who bought the game

you waited 6 months to make the exact same thread?... i was 10yo in 2007 when i beat this game w/out cheats

The only mission I remember that is hard and I had a bit of trouble with as a 12-13 year old playing GTA 3 for the first time, is the one where you have to drive back to the first island and there's a timer.

I remember the last mission being the only one I had to retry 2-3 times.

Lmao shut the fuck up you save state abusing, cheat spamming faggot subhuman. No one is beating these bullshit missions first try. It's not even a matter of skill or reaction, they are literally full of gotcha bullshit that basically guarantees you to fail until you know their trick. All you are proving is that you are a fucking liar.

Zoomers could NEVER

I was born in 1999. I beat this on PS2 without cheats when I was 13. What now?

I felt like this last time I played Alex Kidd in Miracle World.

why are zoomers living rent free in ur head, unc?

Not only do you have to memorize three entire fucking islands because there is no in-game map and the minimap is near worthless

Or you could just check the printed map poster that came with the game.

he's probably brown, anon.

Game wasn't that hard. Just difficult to find the last Sentinel.

GTA 3 is a cakewalk compared to GTA 2

no.
I played it on PC tho, so maybe it was easier with a mouse.

yeah, both GTA 1 & 2 were bullshit because you had to make tons of money to progress, and the missions weren't always enough to do so.
And no saves.

No saves and limited lives

I'm white. I had a PS2 in addition to newer consoles.

I was on the Xbox 360 until 2017. I was 8 in 2012 btw

The PC version is miles easier. On HLTB, PC playthrough takes 50% less time than the PS2 version to beat. Aiming is easier, fps is higher, draw distance is higher, loading is faster, less input lag, and the game was rebalanced for casual pc gamers.

the original version is annoyingly clunky at times

And no saves.

No saves and limited lives

You can save in GTA 2.

Hallelujah, another soul saved!

clunky

sounds like a skill issue

GTA3 is absolutely fucking clunky you zoomer retard. Try actually fucking playing it

Lol get rekt zoomer

Nice attempt at nostalgia shilling, but I will still not buy it.

Ha yes, GTA, the hardcore gamers serie, totally not made for dimwits.

(me)
Around 2012 was SUCH a fucking kino time to be playing PS2 by the way. I walked into a gamestop and was able to get Silent Hill 2 and 3 for $20 each. Plus countless other games for dirt cheap. God I wish I could go back. Fucking collector scum have ruined everything.

GTA1 was kinda hard

This one inteoduced me to PS2 and GTA franchise. At first I played with the cheats, but later learn how to do it with out them. Passed it multiple times together with VC and SA. And I get so familiar with the map that for the LCS I didn't even need to look at the mini map that was added. Guess I could be a taxi driver in Liberty City if needed.

t. retard who never beat any of the PS2 GTA games

Not only do you have to memorize three entire fucking islands

I never once made it past the first island because the missions became so boring after the first few.

Zoomers played all these fucking games. What's your obsession with them?

zoomers are 30yo now. also OP is a zoomer.

nta but I didn't get a PS3 until 2013, and no I am not brown, just poor

Even the so called hardest missions of GTASA weren't that hard if you know how the game works

do you people not keep your old consoles? I still try to get CDs for old games I'm interested in before I try to emulate them

you have to memorize three entire fucking islands

See? This is what happens when you fry your brain on tiktok for 4+ years.
I can still effortlessly navigate GTAIII, VC and SA maps without any help and the last time I played them was 15 years ago. I remember every street, and every jumping platform. You are not supposed to speedrun the missions and your are supposed to save frequently. Explore the fucking game, find shortcuts and secrets, build up an armory, exploit the stupid NPCs' AI, the developers gave you everything you need for cruising through the game, but only if you are willing to have fun.

GTA3 was much harder than GTA SA, and yes, if you are looking up guides to know the easiest gimmick/cheese methods for each mission, you are a cheating faggot.

Based. GPS was the death of GTA.

The hardest thing about 3 was trying to find the last Sentinel

Just reload your save.

My parents didn't even have an internet connection the first few times I beat GTA 3

Everyone had all qeapons and give health codes muscle memorized. Anyone who tells you they never used cheats is a liar

Guess I'm a liar

Yeah you are
