Dwarfs
They changed the unit tiers and so now dwarfs are finally fun since you get a lot of awesome stuff early in the game, especially irondrakes
In the past they used to be incredibly boring just pumping out grudge thrower, longbeard and quarreler armies
The grudge mechanic is awesome as well
The deeps is awesome
Maybe they're a bit overpowered but they're great fun

It's babby's first 4x game. The magic wears off real fast once you realize how many player traps exist purely to fuck you up and how fucking stupid the AI is. I did have some fun with it though.

Favorite faction

High Elves or bust. Going Alith Anar and genociding the niggerelves is great.

Glad Chaos Warriors finally got rebalanced.

Why are all three heroes in Thrones of Decay uniquely well received among most of the DLC? Hasnt been another Very Positive rating in there since The Prophet and The Warlock

Also are ogres worth it? I like ogres a lot but I heard they're a bit dated now

Ogres got a big rework with the last DLC, they're definitely an A tier faction now
I'd recommend getting Golgfag, his campaign is pure drunk fun, just taking merc contracts on a world tour

I'm fairly new to the genre but do any of them actually have good AI? However bad TW has it I swear I've seen bad AI as a major complaint of every single 4x I've looked into. Is it much more egregious here than elsewhere?

Legitimatelly some of the best strategies for winning single player involves hiding or disbanding all your low tier units so you can kill everyone by abusing legendary lords

enjoyment of TWWH is mainly derived from making themed armies and putting them in unique formations

really like the Empire because most of its units are generic enough that they can fit anywhere but there's a few more unique units to sprinkle on top

end up making armies for each electoral province I control (and the LLs not tied to a province if I get them before they die)

currently trying to figure out how to fit allied units into the mix

I don't think it's RNG related. Middenheim ALWAYS jobs to Khazrak, and I also almost always see the forest goblins coming in to vulture a settlement or two. Nordland dies pretty quickly to Norscans. Festus stomps on Hochland and Nordland. I usually take out the secessionists, finish my first 20 stack, and then head in to Carroburg to start fixing things up north. If I catch Khazrak's army out I don't think he ever builds another one so you just gotta topple his herdstone afterwards. I also revive Toddbringer and hand off all of his settlements back to him until I'm ready to hold the north against constant chaos invasions. From there I deal with Festus and then confederate Talabecland to turn the province into a military recruitment center to mop up the vampires (Elspeth usually holds them back and sometimes beats them)

So just get goldfag then?

Everything from 2021-2023 burnt them so bad they have no choice but to release a 10/10 game or die.

On paper I should love this game because I love Warhammer. But I hate it, it bores me, it's just flags slowly fighting each other I don't get the appeal of it

All the factions have utter shit mechanics and/or pacing which is a problem
TW2 was best imo since gun units fucking worked

Biggest issue I have is that ultimately the early game, as in first 50 turns is just pointless drivel in terms of working out the same way each time due to how retarded the AI is in doing the same shit each time

I don't know what I need but tell me what I need to enjoy the game but I will pay for things I enjoy

Get everything. Start with an age of sigmar based army. Play 40k too and then you can truly get 'value' from warhammer total war

I haven't played 3. I'm still stuck on 2 and probably will be until they release a DLC update for some of the Warhammer 2 factions. or Bretonnia. Personally I like the smaller campaigns instead of Mortal/Immortal empires but 3 looks like it has some stuff more annoying than even Vortex. I like the Realm of Chaos Stuff but The Tower defense maps and that aspect being integrated into Sieges, which are now way too prevalent, look really gay and I'm not into it. I like having goals and events outside of generic conquest that force unexpected changes into the Campaign and I'm worried that fandoms immense focus on what I find to be the most generic aspect of the game is going to be detrimental on the next release.

I'm interested to hear melee infantry and Cavalry is a lot better in 3 and magic seems to be in a more sensible position.

I really hope these cumguzzling morons learned their lesson and will stop funneling money into this slaaneshi scam. One can only hope.
