Space Marines are just outside its power scope if you're playing it properly. There are three entire games about being space marines they could have based this on.

My end game party ended tup typically being me as an officer for officer buffs, Cassia as another officer for even more officer buffs (and because she's my wife) Pascal for those tech use rolls and multirole combat utility, and then Ulfar, Marazhai and Kibbles for just killing shit.
There was basically no fight I couldn't end in just a couple turns with this setup.

It's an Owlcat game, my man, it actually staying to the low power levels and gritty struggle Dark Heresy is known for was never going to happen to begin with. I am betting you'll be a full Inquisitor by the end of the prologue and by mid game be a full Inquisitor leading your own cabal. Owlcat cannot make games where the power levels are low and the scope of the campaign is limited, it's beyond their capacity.

We are already getting Eldar Corsair Psyker and Kroot as companions. And we know we become Inquisitor in game. At best game will be slightly more grounded in act1 and far from mudcore anyway.
Dark Heresy just sounds cool and is an rpg similar to RT which is probably why game is named like this. But ultimately the point is to play as Inquisitor instead of Rogue Trader this time.

RT combat was one of the worst parts of the game, midway through Act 2, even on the highest difficulties, if you built your party even halfway decently the entire game falls apart and you just Alpha Strike everything to death. And it just gets worse as the game progresses. It's pathetic that stuff like the Anvers on Footfall are more challenging than late game Necrons and Tyranids since you haven't quite spiraled out of control yet at that point. It really kills the games replayablility since there is no actual challenge or tactics to the combat as a result.

So just call it Inquisitor. Don't call it Dark Heresy. Dark Heresy has a particular vibe and scope. Shitting all over it means I'll never be able to convince a group to play a mudcore DH game again.

Argenta, Pasqal, Abelard, and Cassia are all early-game arrivals that come out of the box with effective builds, Heinrix and Idira are lower-picks because Psykers are finicky to build for, Ulfar doesn't come until mod-game and was kind of shit until they patched him, and I assume most people playing blind kill Marzipan without thinking about it. Jae is the only oddball to me, dual-wield builds are tricky but just being an Officer makes up for it.

Jae is a not an interesting character and her having the strongest class in the game does not change that.

You can build Marazhai into a parry god that literally never gets touched and gets free attacks whenever he successfully parries an attack. I had him hold off and butcher like a dozen genestealers by himself in the Genestealer Patriarch fight because of the whole parry & riposte shit he can do.

If we are getting a Space Marine option as well it would have to be whichever ones are the counterpart to the Night Lords, but they generally hate everyone and have no specific rivalry, so all that's left would be the tactical equivalent, so Raven Guard would be the choice if that's how they're rolling. But, the other option and more likely one would be a SM chapter heavily connected to the Inquisition, so Black Templar or even a Grey Knight would be possible. Grey Knights are insanely powerful though, even beyond what SMs are, so that would be questionable, but this IS Owlcat, so nothing is really off the table no matter how out of alignment the power scaling might seem to be.

Insane enough Radical Inquisitors will even spread their own Chaos Cults just to keep tabs on them.

Grey Knights are the chamber militant of the Ordo Malleus so it's not unlikely, although you would need to be promoted to a full inquisitor to actually have the authority to call upon them and give commands. They're also less likely to throw a shit fit about your pet eldar since their focus is near exclusively on daemons, having a fucking daemonhost or CSM on board would be a much bigger issue for them than the elf or bird
