Armoured Core is the only franchise which has ever actually felt like the cool fight scenes in a mecha anime.
Outside of that I generally prefer the tactical mecha games. HBS Battletech with BTA3062 is pretty good, probably the best example of the genre, but I don't hate more shallow stuff like SRW.
Notably, I thought Phantom Brigade had a lot of potential, but the decision to not have any kind of story at all, combined with the overall shallowness of the available options, leads to it feeling like a huge let down. The gameplay loop is incredibly well designed, but nothing that supports it is up to par - The randomized loot elements don't have depth, the story is literally nonexistent, the enemy is non-threatening unless you turn the difficulty to max, in which case they just cheat. The 'Boss' fights are easier than the regular battles. The objectives are all samey, the battlefields are all samey. It's just a huge case of unrealized potential.

Dolls Nest was very good but it's technically mecha musume so it may not be for everyone. It basically plays like an Armored Core game with Demons Souls level design instead of missions.
I got the that Seed battle destiny for free and have been playing through that. Despite it taking inspiration from FvZ and GvZG, it still doesn't have good branching choices like GvZG. If I save Stellar I should get another path, how is a PS2 game still full of more soul than a Vita title?

I don't know what your definition of "super" is but play Chōsōjū Mecha MG. It's made by the same devs of R.A.D. and it has several mechs with their own unique control schemes.

Its moreso that you just posted one that is a tremendous timesink. The OST has some good tracks but the gameplay loop is ass pick up mission and traverse the map riddled with blatantly overleveled enemies that you can aggro easily and die and combat itself is braindead.
Also you dont even get your mech until like I said 20 hours into the game. Id sooner talk positively about a gacha than that worthless buzz
