The majority of the cost on the original switch's carts was storage, which won't be the case here because there will maybe be a few KB worth of data on these things. Most AAA games aren't good enough quality to be worth even 60, going 50% higher is lunacy, the vast, vast majority of games simply will not make the cut. For a game to be worth that much it would have to be excellent to a level that is nigh-universally beyond the capability of the industry. Trying to gaslight people into paying more, especially for in many cases, less game then we got even 10 years ago. It just isn't going to fly. If they made a compelling reason for a price hike, showing how much more they are offering compared to even 5 years ago, then I would say you are right and people are overreacting, but they have given us jack shit. Hell, I would even take 80 dollar games on the promise that we wouldn't get DLC anymore. Either a complete game, or "free" updates. But they won't do it, I know they won't. 80 dollars will suddenly be the norm on top of 30-50 dollars worth of DLC. Even if inflation were to suddenly go back down to record lows, where the dollar is 10x the worth it was in 2006, they won't reduce the price. I don't want to say that I contributed to that. That when Nintendo went full retard, that I wasn't one of the people that said "enough is enough" and to get off the train. I've got more then enough disposable income, 450 console and 70-80 dollar games are not a deal breaker. I've paid many times that much for games through the years. I just didn't want to imagine that Nintendo couldn't realize that when kids beg Mom and Dad for that Switch 2 and those games that they will look at the prices like Nintendo just split them over the skull. I invite you to, just for giggles: start a company - like register a LLC, A.G, or GmbH, or whatever corporate entity where you live, and then make an asset flip video game and release it on Steam. In every step of the way, you will learn how the video game business works in a micro economic fashion and maybe, hopefully, you'll understand from the producers perspective in addition to what you know now as a customer/consumer.
