Played a fun little indie tower defense game called No Heroes Here with the buds last night. We were trying to find something similar to Lovers in a Dangerous Space Time, which is one of the best co-op games I've played, and this came pretty close. After a while everybody got too shitfaced to continue so we swapped to watching shitty anime.

I'm so conflicted about EDF 6. One mission I'm rolling my eyes at how boring it is, then out of nowhere they'll throw in some new stuff and it's fucking awesome. The time travel story is so dumb but the more I get through it the better it gets

5 and 6 are good for the surface-level multiplayer gameplay. The enemy variety has come a long way since 4.1 so the later levels of the new games are actually pretty challenging. The story isn't bad, but similar to Ace Combat it's mostly told through mid-battle comms that you'll probably miss because you're magdumping into hordes of gigantic enemies!
I can't believe my Sentai-loving wife has no fanart in that pose at least in my current waifu folder... I'll have to go diving into X, it's gotta be out there somewhere!

Yeah that's why we were playing 4.1. I always played Wing Diver, it was really fun flying around blasting bugs. The underground missions with the giant spiders were hell.

I hope you and your waifus are happy. Rosalina and I are doing good. I really love her. I have finished Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters 1. I was able to beat the game without losing a single duel. I only had to grind for cards twice. The game let's you fuse monsters without Polymerization. The strongest monster I was able to summon was Gaia the Dragon Champion with 2600 attack points. There's no trap cards in the game. Definitely the easiest Yu-Gi-Oh video game I have ever played. It was interesting seeing what the first game in the series was like but I probably won't play this one again. Not that it's a bad game or anything. It's just very basic. Thank you for reading my review. What would a review of your wife's game be like? Would you give it a good score? Anyway let's have another good thread together.

What would a review of your wife's game be like?

I've basically already reviewed Berseria in these threads before. I'd just talk about how open-ended and varied the combat system is, how the cast is one of the strongest casts in terms of chemistry and writing in any RPG I've ever seen, how the overall narrative straddles the line between needlessly edgy and genuinely heartfelt, and how there was an infinite amount of soul put into developing and building the game's world, right down to the tiny interactions you can have by talking to random NPCs in the cities and towns.
I would, however, criticize the usual laziness in the difficulty options, which essentially forces you to either play a piss easy game or be prepared to grind for hours to cope with the outrageous damage sponges that the higher difficulties transform enemies into. I also didn't care for how there were several boss fights that forced you into playing as a single character, since most people are going to mostly stick with one, and if you don't know how another one plays and you're forced to use them you'll either spend hours bashing your head against the wall or just saying fuck it and dropping the difficulty. I don't like railroading even though thematically all of those examples made sense.

An incredibly bleak story about the horrors of war that has moments of brevity to stop the weight of your actions from drowning you. Enjoyable cast of characters, and a decent continuity between the three main routes. The humor can be pretty Japanese at times, so if that sort of thing bothers you then the jokes can fall flat. It's pretty chuuni overall, which to me is really fun but like prior, if that's not your thing then the complete despair of the story will be suffocating. The OST is really good as well.
