LA-BLUE PRINCE-LANA

How many pages of schizo notes and screenshots so far, anon?

23 pictures
a decent amount of very messy notes

How many pages of schizo notes and screenshots so far, anon?

11 screenshots and just one long incoherent .txt

over 1k screenshots

I just started taking screenshots of everything after a puzzle expected me to recall the nth word on page x of multiple books.

I started taking screenshots pretty early as soon as I found my first book. It's a roguelike and I don't want to have to find it again. A New Clue only validated me.

How many pages of schizo notes and screenshots so far, anon?

1500 screenshots and a bunch of weird hastily-written notes.

too many

For comparison here was my La-Mulana chart.

file.png - 2560x1440, 1004.42K

There really should have been an in-game journal you can manually fill in. Game even tells Simon to take notes.

Maybe this game is not for you :)
The very first letter you find tells you that you cannot enter the mansion with any items and leave with any items found in the mansion. This means you can't take a journal or a camera from the outside into the mansion; or place the notes in the journal and move them out of the mansion.

the note is only meant for the player and Simon is simply memorizing everything in-universe

You're an idiot.

Not like the game mechanics reflect this arbitrary rule when I can start each day with my folder full of blueprints (including new ones I found in and outside the mansion), a couple of gems and a keycard from calling it a day in the break room.

Manually taking notes and making maps is part of the fun, and the way we used to play puzzle games back in the day.

Is the selfie your uncle took in the bathroom mirror supposed to be mirrored and the dev fucked up or is it not mirrored as a clue to something relating to the useless fucking bathroom? Or did your uncle sit someone down on the bathroom counter and have them take a picture of him to fake a mirror selfie?

simon is weird

Which is why I suggested

an in-game journal you can manually fill in

Or do you consider something like what is doing not manual note taking?

He said manually fill in and plenty of games have little drawing systems to take notes with.

That's ableist.

random black hand

Huh?

Why is La Mulana 2 so bland?

It's a glove.

file.png - 952x892, 1.15M

I have 5 red letters and I'm not having fun anymore, most of the stuff i want to check out now involves routing power and after bring the water level down to the entryway I now realize i have to raise the water level, ride the boat, and lower the water level. This all just seems quite unfun to me at this point. Seems like there reaches a point where solving a puzzle rewards you with wasting time to arrange the house which gets quite repetitive. Am I filtered?

taking notes

and that's when I turn off the game

inb4 zoomer

I remember playing Stonekeep for the first time and seeing it had in game notes and map notations and thinking "why the fuck didn't everyone do this sooner?"

I'm not an expert but I'm pretty sure you can flip the negative during printing for ye olde photos.

All the tedious tasks and cryptic bullshit in the post game are just clues that you should have quit playing after you got to room 46. Some people can't take a hint and keep going, but they are missing the point.

Post-game is about your own curiosity (and patience) and if you've run out of it then go ahead and drop it.

Turns out then when you make the puzzles straightforward instead of cryptic bullshit all you have is a mediocre platformer.

how do you generally organize your notes and how do you write them up in an efficient manner? there's this game I've been playing recently with a lot of different events, routes and triggers that I wanted to catalog so I made an Obsidian Vault for it but I quickly got very tired because my normal gameplay slowed down to a crawl as I was screenshotting, using OCR, fixing up the parts the OCR fucked up, and writing stuff down myself, so I stopped fairly early on, it really made me appreciate how vast the game was though

Haha my game is shit on purpose and you shouldn't be playing it in the first place :^)

Ebic meta commentary.

This is why I never got into the first La Mulana. The aesthetics are off-putting to me and I thought the gameplay was boring. So the supposed wealth of cryptic puzzles that I missed out on made no difference to me.

hey did any of you guys know that Blue Prince sounds a lot like blueprints
kinda turned everything upside down when i learned that

What game was that? I only just heard of Obsidian Vault personally when seeing people talk about this game and it sounds great. I'll probably use it for the next game like this I come across.

Funny cause I think the aesthetic/music is one of the most unique and charming of all time

Sultan's Game, my workflow was probably pretty slow because I wanted to catalog literally everything, the wiki for it was pretty dead but now I think it might be picking up steam so my interest on writing everything down is waning a little too

downloading some super complex program you need to learn so you can get better at taking elaborate notes for a boring as fuck game

What is wrong with you?

Reposting from previous thread.

I want to see all that this game has to offer but after 70 days and solving 2 sanctum sigils and opening 4 doors I am losing my will to continue.
I feel like there are too many clues thrown at me all at once, some relevant, some not relevant, some not relevant unless I get a magnifying glass (so I have to revisit them later anyway) and then anyway it turns out that the clues were misleading or based on some pun or homophone or leap of logic like D8 or gaits. I am not even sure if opening the sanctum doors is the correct thing to do right now because, while I'm working on it, I am seeing clues for post-post-post-post game stuff.
I want to drain the reservoir to access the tunnel but I cannot draft boiler and pump rooms in the same run at all.
I got The New Clue but I missed magnifying glass that run so I need at least 2 new runs to order the book and get the glass.
The password to the blackbridge is inactive.
There is a padlock at the top of the gear room which I need to open.
Also the safe in the drafting room, I need magnifying glass and the room to spawn.
I've blown up the wall in item trade outside room.
I need to somehow spawn all the classrooms.
Also I need to spawn the 8 room again and solve it.
I know aquarium has some clues and I also need to drain it to get even more clues.
There are multiple suspicious walls but I'm yet to craft something to break them.
And that's probably the surface level shit I'm yet to do.
I have 4 letters (boudoir, drawing room, office, study). Outer room, cavern, orchard and grotto are unlocked. I solved the chests in reservoir. I took the armory as my chess reward, for now. I also brought all the books.

Where should I focus my attention next?

file.png - 2562x1440, 2.8M

How do you have this many unsolved mysteries and you haven't smashed your pc to bits and set your house on fire out of sheer frustration yet?

For Blue Prince, I felt like compiling all of my notes on a wiki but it seems like someone already beat me to registering it with wiki.gg and is taking ages to get it public.

There was a week when I made 0 progress across multiple runs. I'm asking myself the same thing.

Mental illness

did you get the message from all the music sheets? it results in a huge addition that can over time make your drafting issues disappear.
if not, prioritize doing that.

There is a padlock at the top of the gear room which I need to open.

Can you see the letter on the table beyond the bars? The padlock follows the same rules as the puzzles for the other letters.

did you get the message from all the music sheets?

About digging among the trees? Yes.

Obsidian

super complex

????

I love these dart boards.

Thanks anon, I just got cursed by shitty notation too.

file.png - 558x576, 486.54K

recommend me a good closet upgrade. It seems heavily situational.

file.png - 2562x1440, 3.81M

Wrenched boiler room to commonplace and still took over a dozen runs to get it attached to pump room
I was doing other things the entire time but it was still lame

I just did hallway, bedrooms don't have enough exits and when you're using red rooms it's generally to get more routes forward and dead ending them immediately is pretty bad

then I'm assuming you have conservatory, combine that with the Rook power and try to draft it every run to fix your deck.
Study helps a lot for rerolling with gems, also try and farm Lab experiments for stars/allowance/dice. (Blackbridge should allow you to remote access Lab even if you don't draw it)
You said you have the armory, axing the cost of Attic and combining it with Chamber of Mirrors means you can get a lot of items, try combining various things with the hammer and coat check it.
I picked red closet because red rooms usually have exits that you can afford to turn into dead ends. it also synergizes nicely with another red upgrade.

I solved this a moment ago. Anyone want to play the parlor game? :-)

Yeah, I solved it too.

Miro

Looks neat

Honestly, should've gotten out of the game like 30 hours earlier after the 1st ending.

What the fuck does matching statement even mean in this case?

tfw you're late to the party

file.png - 2562x1440, 3.47M

streamer-slop shill thread

600 screenshots and like 6 full pages on a notebook for Blue Prince. I'm about to start La-Mulana 2 since the puzzles in Blue Prince slowed down and now I only have to grind for money, so I feel like I can play something else without losing any info I was storing in my short memory side of the brain.

roach king so starved for new puzzles he's randomly staring at floors looking for shit

lol

literally just [[wikilinks]]

super complex

What the fuck does matching statement even mean in this case?

In the parlor game, three boxes of different colors all display statements. The statements can be true or false. You have to use logic to calculate which statements are true and which are false, to know which box to open (only one contains a prize).

After doing a lot of these puzzles, the boxes each start to display multiple statements at once. According to the rules of the game, at least one box displays _all_ true statements, and at least one box displays _all_ false statements.

In this particular puzzle, there are three pairs of identical statements spread among the three boxes. Hence, matching statements.

the puzzles have now devolved into datamining textures

Thanks anongpt.

How to use Conservatory effectively?

I feel like I'm diluting the pool more and more; some rooms I 'think' I'm done with them (lab I can access remotely, boiler room and adjacent are done) but almost everything else that it presents to me I want it every run (workshop, showroom)

Is it a matter of focusing on ONE thing and building my drafting pool towards it?

Also what does powered up furnace do, it didn't fucking change anything it just gave me a fucking key as always

I'm pretty sure the key is only from being powered. Otherwise it is a completely useless dead end.
Maybe you always had it powered when you came across it?

Red dead-ends annoy me to no end so I avoid them like the plague, so there's a high chance the few times I drafted it it was powered

Cool, thx

...okay? forget about all about that, isn't it always just 1 box containing the gems? so

the statement matching this statement is on a box containing gems

can't possibly be true since the gems can't be in two boxes at once right? so the gems should be in the blue box right?

then again one of the completely true ones also contains a matching statement with the box containing gems, I don't know this whole pair thing confuses the hell out of me

statement is true

Completely true box

It eventually does half-truth boxes?

Few questions I have after a bit of playing. Currently on 7 letters, 6 Sanctum Doors open with 2 puzzles (Orinda and Fenn) solved.
Are solving the remaining puzzles literally a matter of reading up on the realm and then creating the sigil based on their description or are there other clues? Because fuck doing the former.
Is the Castle/Court/Cloak thing from the Blackbridge Grotto cutscene relevant? I found the CASTLE cipher thing in the chess room but I don't think they're related.
What does MANTIS have to do with anything?
Are security recordings relevant to puzzles or just clues for other puzzles (microchip, train route) and lore (library)? I tried checking the bookshelf Sinclair was looking at but there's nothing interactable.

You can simplify it a ton. 1 Box has ALL true statements and 1 box has ALL false statements.
2x "The statement matching this statement is true" creates a feedback loop where they both have to be true, so those two can't possibly be the boxes with ALL false statements.
This just leaves black as the FULLY false one and from there you follow the logic to blue having the gems.

The statement matching this statement is on a completely true box.

These two statements must be false. If they are true, then blue's other statement is true, which asserts that white has a true statement. Then you have three boxes containing true statements, which is against the rules.

Blue and black have been shown to contain at least one false statement. Therefore, white is the all-true box.

The statement matching this statement is on a box containing gems.

White's version of this statement is true, since white is the all-true box. Therefore, black contains the gems.

I hope you enjoyed the parlor game!

lmao I thought white had the gems, then you said blue and this anon said black

Blue anon reporting back. I fumbled my logic at the last step because I thought "The statement matching this statement is on a box containing gems." would also create a logic loop, but it can be true on one box and false on another.
ChatGPT was right, it's black. Stupid smart robot.

What's the best room to axe?

Aquarium #1. Three doors, can deliver power with an upgrade, counts as every room type which is great for experiments and room synergies, there is an experiment which adds 3 aquariums to the draw pool and no other room has an experiment like that.
Make it free on top of all that and stupid things start to happen.

Attic
Trophy room

I axed the foyer, the classroom, and the vault. It doesn't really matter. There's more than one way to skin a black cat.

I hope this flower is not part of any puzzle.

file.png - 931x699, 364.18K

what the FUCK did you do
does getting to room 46 in this state get you the trophy?

Red closet synergizes with the red cloister upgrade if you can get it (and furnace). Nothing says get fucked game like walking into a red cloister, immediately getting 4 items and 4 dice, and then special keying through one of the remaining doors so you don't fuck your map gen.

Also red rooms tend to have tons of doors so it's not as bad to closet off one.

Bedroom closet's horrid because most bedrooms have 0-1 doors and 1 in particular is literally designed to enable backtracking.

The downside to red closet is if you get it when you aren't on a red room it's a dead card, but you shouldn't really be playing around closets anyway cause it's just a bad card in the first place. Red closet's at least situationally really powerful.

Also if you're one of those players that spams the bunker, you will also have the option to just do a normal early closet play for 2 items.

I stole without realizing kek
I drafted Shrine two days in a row and the second time, the money is still there. I was going through the motions at 3AM and took my money back
I did attempt to reach 46 but it was too tough on the keys. I guess you gotta go blue all the way up

How to use Conservatory effectively?

Legitimately I've just been cranking up the frequency of the rarest draw it gives to max.

Instead of making every card slightly better I'd rather 1 card in particular get much better so I can immediately start taking advantage of it and learning to use it better.

So far I've not been disappointed with the results, but I have the hallway swarm upgrade to keep myself out of trouble, so results may vary.

You guys said this game had no horror elements to it
fucking trophy popping out gave me a jumpscare

no, curse mode is its own thing

Devs need to stop hiring indians for their shill threads.

Speaking of trophies, do you need to read the drafting sweepstakes thing to earn the trophy or will it just appear after drafting 18 dead ends? I have a horrible feeling I just didn't pick it up when I did my dead end run

You get it in the Mail Room the day after. That worried me too because I was assuming it would pop up like the Full House trophy and it didn't.

Oh, forgot to point out the objective is to draft 20 or more dead-ends. Not sure where you got 18.

Here's my contribution to the trophy convo. I reached Room 46 in under an hour "today" and it didn't award a trophy. Do they mean one hour realtime, one hour in-game (wtf), or one hour realtime altogether (i.e., Day One)?

What's the best room to axe?

A lot of people axe Attic and Trophy Room for obvious reasons. I'm in favor of axing Rotunda because it's hands down the most powerful room you can get in terms of layout except maybe study, classroom (another good axe choice since then schoolhouse becomes much more powerful), or drawing room.

As a general rule, you either want to axe a room that costs 3+ or a room that you expect to play 3+ times in a run. So Courtyard, Classroom, Aquarium, Trophy Room, Throne Room, Attic, Rotunda, Vault, or Cloister (if you don't want Draxus).

Don't axe Vault, money is much MUCH easier to come by down the line. I wouldn't axe Courtyard, Throne Room, or Cloister either. Throne Room just saves you some steps, Courtyard's multiroom ability is less common than Classroom or Aquarium's, and I recommend running Draxus.

You *might* also want to axe Foyer instead if you're running the upgrade that lets you usually play with 2 in your pool since it's still costs 2, it's a REALLY good room, and due to the increased frequency, you'll be seeing it and potentially buying it effectively twice as much as other rooms.

Another wildcard choice would be Veranda if you like playing around with green synergy.

One hour realtime altogether, so starting from Day One. It pretty much goes hand in hand with the Day One trophy because banking doing a Day Two just takes way too much time.

20

FUCKKKKKK and I was so chuffed I got 19 too

Just found out some rooms have hidden abilities

Game, I swear to fuck.

gyuu.png - 213x227, 38.38K

. It pretty much goes hand in hand with the Day One trophy because banking doing a Day Two just takes way too much time.

Not really.

Draft garage + power room to unlock outer room, unlock orchard and mine while at it

Skip days until you get a tomb

At any point so far get a pump room and lower the resevoir by 1

Now you just need to bank on a path to room 46

Allowing multiple days makes an attempt more reliable than day 1 attempts.

I just stored the lever.
Now I need to spawn the battery (hopefully from the tool shed), sledgehammer (I should order it to commissary every day, also can appear in tool shed) and then draft commissary, coat check and workshop during the same run. The odds are not in my favor.

Also the speedhack from CE randomly stopped working.

file.png - 1733x904, 1.7M

It's even funnier with gem rerolls. I literally just had a run where I abused this shit.

Also managed to power the laundry room and massively jack up my allowance at the cost of my stars.

Vsync prevents speedhack from working on games. Did you turn it on?

The odds are not in my favor.

Friendly piece of advice: Trading post is your friend instead of the tool shed. Focus on getting good runs, keep an eye out for the 2 rooms you need, and the second you get both, dump all your shit into the trading post to fish for the items you need. Every single item you pick up during a run becomes multiple tries to get one of the remaining 2 items you need assuming you don't have them yet and you can use static spawns like the parlor room key as well.

Tool shed is a noob trap.

No, I closed the game, started it again, hooked CE and it stopped working. Then I started the game once more and it magically started working.

Yeah, trading post is good but only if I'll get any items during a run. I'm afraid that whatever I'll find behind the walls will only leave me with more questions.

I took a bunch of screenshots and notes but got bored and quit before I even used any of them. It's no La-Mulana.

I just got to Room 45 and used key to underground, here's what I have in my note so far, I'm on Day 47.

bpnotes.jpg - 1181x919, 174.89K

Yeah, trading post is good but only if I'll get any items during a run

There are various spots around the start of a run to consistently or semi-consistently get items. Darts room, box room, and an outside upgrade.

Also, if you know you want items for your trading post, you can focus on getting shops when you have cash and green rooms and bedrooms when you don't.

You should effectively be starting every run with several items to trade.

And that banking on a path to 46 is what I find unreliable when you can just reset.

I enjoyed La Mulana 2. Saw a video covering the first one, and knowing what happens kinda ruins the point so I went straight to 2.

finally got my 3rd scarlet letter on day 49

Merry Christmas, ya filthy animals. And a Happy New Year.

83s5uoX.gif - 500x380, 565.05K

But the point is focusing on just day 1 means a lot more resets because ontop of the path to 46 you need to get either

boiler + pool

a foundation on day 1

unlocki outer rooms + a tomb on day 1

Practically you're going to be resetting more often due to larger demand on rng while spending more time on each run because you'll need to go through more of the day before your options close up

That powered laundry room feature is OP as fuck and I'm concerned someone in these threads called it 'underwhelming' a couple days ago

draft 8 classrooms

exam

i wasnt ready at all
gonna quit the game soon anyways my brain cant anymore (im at the sigil part, have most doors but not that many signs)

It's getting tougher again. Three statements per box. I wonder if it stops here?

Don't tell me you haven't been paying attention in class!

desu ive been skipping billiard room since like day 30 due to low brain power and seeing the math questions made me want to alt 4 right there

get two windup keys upgrade

2/3 chances of success

yup I ain't reading all that shit

I am already starting with 30 gold, and I already got all the books. I can trade items consistently. The biggest problem seems to be spawning the workshop.

Yeah, workshop is painfully rare. I'm over 50 hours in and have only gotten to craft 3 times.

Play for wrench and demote that shit up as soon as possible, bros. Dunno if you can conservatory it but that might work too
I have it in my first 2 rows every run

about 150
there is something in the walls i can hear it

You have to get a room to wrench it, lmao. Also the most consistent way to get wrench is tool shed which is...not good when you're focusing on other shit.

big day getting info

finally get my hands on realm and rune or whatever it's called

figure out the sigils for the most part

brute force the rest

about to head back to 46 to do the puzzle

game crashes

thank fuck I'm an autistic little note monkey

Do swim trunks not spawn if the pool is drained, or does it just have like a 1% spawn rate?

always spawns for me, are you sure you bought it

Yep. Maybe I misread the description? It's supposed to spawn in the locker room right?

no, the pool room

whats up with these stone things and why do they appear in so many rooms? are they just a whatever asset or are they gonna come up at some point?

stonething.png - 514x536, 332.83K

Played around boiler for a while to understand everything around it

Powered furnace just gives you a key

Powered garage just fucking OPENS THE DOOR

Considering how significant lab/pump/laundry are, I'm kinda mad

Oh, neat. Try using a Prism Key from an Aquarium. The key will indicate which color room will be drafted if you use it. You can cancel out and bring up the key menu again, and it will give you a random different color.

It's just a fancy ornament, as far as I'm concerned.

Powered garage is just a nice bonus if it happens. It's not something you should really fight for.

Or at least I'm assuming it's a nice bonus, so far I've only found 2 things opening the garage does and of them one only needs to be done once and the other you can eliminate the need to do it ever again by doing something else.

I'm unfortunately assuming there might be other interactions. Kinda dreading the research that's gonna have to go into that though. At least garage is a fairly consistent spawn.

I'm pretty sure at some angles they form numbers/letters.

I'm also pretty sure they're just decorative.

It gets even worse if you start looking closely at the textures. This game allows you to go full schizo mode.

file.png - 1526x665, 429.75K

Does anyone know if Prism Key works the same way as the book case room where it doesn't actually use your drafting pool to generate rooms to draft from?

I first figured that shit out when I got a 2nd Veranda from the shortcut room, but I haven't used Prism Key enough to test it.

I need to test powered furnace with the shelter or shield to see if it's actually that ass or if you can improve it like the lavatory

can confirm that it will repeat rooms you've already drafted (without hall of mirrors)

I was in the same situation, but I can definitely see cases where this would be a game changer
Won't be able to tell until I start a second save

Figured out the water level, but now what
just let me use the swimming trunks I paid for them

I feel like if you're at a point where you have a lot of stars to inflate your allowance and vice versa then you can probably just do the same thing with experiments anyway.

I beat two bosses and wasted some bullets before I found the fast travel
10/10

Looks like the water needs to be 1 level lower.

the trunks are swimming in the pool :)

Ah fuck, thanks
Time for pump room math

Anon, it's a pun.

ffs I hadn't understood the pun until now
being an ESL cunt is such a debuff sometimes
I just fucking got it

I really am the blue prince of blue prints

I feel like if you're at a point where you have a lot of stars to inflate your allowance and vice versa then you can probably just do the same thing with experiments anyway.

Yeah, if you don't get RNG screwed like I have been for the past 3 fucking weeks of runs. Boy I sure do love dumping dirt on the driveway every time I draft 2 hallways in a row.

Having more than 1 way to get more powerful is always better than just having 1.

third sanctum key lost because i found it at less than 5 steps remaining

I have 7 letters from the sigil rooms and I'm trying to solve the map puzzle in Room 46, do the pins have to be located at the exact locations, or is being inside the realm good enough?

Captcha: JA8PN

what the fuck does it mean

I'll do you one better.

third sanctum key lost because I accidentally traded it while trying to trade away vault keys

clown.png - 471x848, 361.78K

AND AS IT WAS FORETOLD I AM AWAKENED AT THE SOUND OF A DROPPING COIN
YOU FIND YOURSELF FACE TO FACE WITH THE GREAT ALZARA

Inside the realm is good enough. The realm you're selecting should be highlighted when pinning.

Also, when you notice something literally doesn't add up, which you will, use your brain. The puzzle's really not that hard. You could solve it with just the 2nd letter and some reasonable guessing.

what the fuck i just read this after putting a coin in
fuck you

I don't understand. If you have access to dumping dirt on the driveway then you also have access to directly adding to your stars or allowance.

WHAT CLOISTER UPGRADE DO I GET I WANT Draxus

If you have access to dumping dirt on the driveway then you also have access to directly adding to your stars or allowance

If you roll that. You only get 3 rolls and there are a lot of trash effects.

Hell, I don't even think I've gotten the allowance one yet. Stars I got to pop off once. I've not had good luck with the experiments. And yes I am mad.

Asked and answered. Draxus is best grill.

Also there's 8 fucking upgrades. Tell us which 3 you fucking rolled, dipshit.

GET THE MOISTER
YOU GET A TAP TO REFILL WATERING CAN

Gems and coins are not a problem, we dice'n

dice.png - 819x630, 552.7K

My one problem with Blue Prince is Christmas somehow exists on another planet that worships an entirely different pantheon.

I can set aside the months being the same as coincidence, but Christmas complete with tree and gift giving is a bit much.

That said, my headcanon is Draxus died for their sins.

I played this game for 2 hours and uninstalled

YOU GET A TAP TO REFILL WATERING CAN

He doesn't know

Also watering can is just you getting screwed out of a shovel. I need to remember to box that shit so it stops spawning.

I was just wordplaying, I have no idea what the Cloister upgrades are

There's not Draxus 1-7 and then Draxus.

Do the black chess pieces do something special? There seem to be fewer than white ones.

They commit 50% of the crime

You know you can configure the experiments that roll? It's under packet managment in the lab. Have to pick at least eight, but wiht 3/8 the odds are always quite high.

I want my money back, Alzara.

Manual notes is one thing but having incredibly specific puzzles is adventure game moon logic territory, though I'm aware that's apparently part of the appeal of the game between the RNG and other stuff

how did grunkle/servants remove the foundation if it's a permanent addition?

how do you even get so much resources?

there is a way to remove it

has everything been datamined? it kills some of the aura and mystery knowing I could google everything now instead of wasting 10 hours to scrutinize an odd pixel or wait 10000 in game days

we still don't know if there's anything past the atelier.

wumpussy

Maybe don't look up solutions online?

I havent seen the office in like 20 days.

I saw the wrench twice in 90 days.

Never thought or using miro. I always use my ipad, but I am not playing on pc

beep beep beep beep

So simon is named after his dad? He does not have a brother right?

I'm on day 120 and I haven't gotten the drafting studio once.

Remember, RNG only makes this game better.

I legit think my save is broken somehow. Out of the 120 days only 10 or so have been "abandoned projects" trying to fish for an outdoor building.

The gallery puzzle can suck my fucking dick

I can't tell you because it would get patched

You know you can configure the experiments that roll?

I can't yet. I assume that relates to the cave outside.

does the game leave you with even more mysteries if you open the black box because the original royalty's colors were black and not blue

I'm 45 hours in and I still think the roguelike elements are a detriment.

Hurry up man, you only have 365 days until it's removed from the drafting pool

So simon is named after his dad

No. Simon is named after his grandfather. Dude died before he was born.

He does not have a brother right?

I mean he might. His mom's been missing a while.

Asking because there is the room with the book, where a simon wrote in all red. Which means that simon is just like his grand dad

might

Doesn't he sleep in a bunk bed with his brother?

I'm around the end-end-game (at least I think it is the puzzles seem to never stop) and they for sure are. It would help if there were more conditional spawning rules for some rooms and items so you can force them out reliably. There's already a lot but there needs to be more.

that's not our simon. that's herbert's brother simon. that's their childhood room

From what I've seen personally looking at the files, the community's already found absolutely everything. No datamining needed. The sad part is that the community thinks there's still more to find. But I can safely say that there aren't any items that haven't been found, no new rooms, and I'm 99% sure there aren't any more areas to the estate either. If there's any more to this rabbit hole, it's only a few crumbs.

What's the actual name for the genre though? La Mulanalikes?

metroidbrainia

metroidbrainia

I just call them puzzle games or puzzle exploration games. If you want a more specific term then maybe Myst-like and I've seen people trying to push metroidbrania.

I hate this word so fucking much, first time I heard it made me cringe to death. I hope it never really takes off

The worst thing is that even if you'll read the guide you're still at the mercy of rng.

Is a sanctum key locked behind the music room?

is there an eighth letter or is the turk telling the truth?

How about castlebrainia?

yes but good luck getting it to trigger

how did people not notice the 46th room from the outside. that shit's right in the back of the house with windows and everything

why don't you draft one late into your run and find out?

I did and was wondering, didnt know a those counted as a major key

It's explicitly mentioned that it's not visible from back. Either the windows are fake and there's a facade around it, or that area's walled in.

How did the crown come into Herbert's possession? The thieves drove all the way back to the estate and weren't followed?
Why did the gardener guy blackmail him about the stolen crown and the covering up of Mary's disappearance for a measly 100 gold? "I found something that will cover my losses while working here" and he's asking for 10 weeks pay

Also, what's the deal with all the passports, did that not raise any eyebrows with the government?

Magic probably, just like the rest of the house. In-universe the room probably doesn't exist until someone interacts with the 46-door.
You draft it into existence like all other rooms.

I'm almost done. I just reached True Shrine of the Mother and need to figure out how to use Mantra.exe and how to unlock Hell Temple, but the answer to that seems to be "get somebody else you know to tell you every step and how to do it". I love and hate this fucking game

Hell Temple never felt like it was intended to be part of the normal play experience with how far they buried it behind shit. I still feel like it's worth seeing though for it's unique brand of whatever you want to call it.

I'm very certain there isn't. There's a master list of all documents in the level file, and there's only:
RED LETTER BOMBSHELTER
RED LETTER BOUDOIR
RED LETTER DRAFTING
RED LETTER DRAWING
RED LETTER OFFICE
RED LETTER STUDY
RED LETTER UNDERGROUND
listed. I've still been putting a lot of time going through the level file because I'm still pretty obsessed about this game but I really haven't found anything big. Maybe some interesting minor, trivia or unused stuff, but that's all so far.

What's the worst item and why is it the Brass Compass?

alzara literally tells you in a prophecy that youll endlessly search for an 8th letter that you will never find

The thieves drove all the way back to the estate and weren't followed?

The thieves were moving about using the abandoned subway lines.

he also says it's just like the letters missing from the room paintings, therefore we must assume there's a gigaschizo secret message to be found by comparing all the red letters against eachother and anagraming the letters that are in 1 but missing from the next

Yes. I'm aware. The anon I was replying to mentioned Alzara too. I don't know why you're stating this like everyone isn't aware of it.

Just read a new clue
What did I think about it?

What's the worst item and why is it the Brass Compass?

Brass Compass is useful for fishing for straight shot rooms that don't like to come out otherwise. Worst item is the battery pack, followed by the broken lever, followed by the car keys.

Alzara's a lying cunt.
