UE technology will benefit consumers with better gameplay experiences with UE6 multithreaded simulation (singlethreaded has been a huge plague on performance for a long time now), as well as better networking capability for multiplayer games. these will be very beneficial for the consumer experience.

How will you know if an update is compromised? Nintendo could sneak in license verification drm that will refuse to play your games after 2 weeks without a license check, and only activate that drm at some arbitrary point in the future when they determine most people have updated. I admit that this is unlikely, but I'd say Valve suddenly turning evil and taking away peoples games is equally if not more unlikely, considering Valve has a history of mostly pro consumer behavior while Nintendo sure as hell doesn't.
