Is it unprofessional to play video games at work?
Is it unprofessional to play video games at work?
spanniger can just load up emulator on his phone and play that way, boss will be no wiser
consolefags lose again
When I was a night shift security guard, my boss said he didn't give a shit if I played games on my laptop, as long as I didn't sleep through my shift. Good times.
idk, maybe his work environment really is full of people who would shit on him for playing vidya, or maybe the boss is just a boomer looking for an excuse to keep it out
i was on a plane recently and tried to play a game and just couldnt
how could you focus on it at work
If you're in sales or management? Yes absolutely
I think I've unironically seen more PSPs in the wild than all Nintendo handhelds combined. There's something about the PSP's """demographic""" that just screams, "This cost me a year's worth of wages, and I'm going to use it for as many years as I can."
Deckbuilders are the perfect night shift games. Back when I worked nights Slay the Spire got me through them
I just masturbate
I hate societal standards. I enjoy making people uncomfortable.
play it in the bathroom loser
lmao
Shouldn't you like them then?
he doesn't work from home where no one can see you play
Dress code is 'ecks out
Meanwhile everyone is too busy playing on their phones to notice.
DIAMOND DOGS
Consolefags own phones. If anyone loses, it's PCfags since shitty PC handhelds and laptops aren't needed for on-the-go emulation.
how do you become a security guard?
They should just pay you more
Autistic 30 year old doesn't realize boss is trying to save him from being completely socially ostracized by his normie coworkers.
I thank god every day that I am only as autistic as I am, and was thrown to the wolves instead of coddled over it. Because now I can see when certain things are appropriate.
Even bringing a book is probably better for him socially. Like 80% of getting by in the corporate world is pretending to get along with your shitty coworkers with the emptiest smalltalk known to man, but if you don't do it, you get stuck, and at best stagnate and never get promoted, at worst, get let go because you're the weird loner guy.
ywnbaw
that just screams, "This cost me a year's worth of wages, and I'm going to use it for as many years as I can."
Are PSPs expensive now or something? I have one from release and two other variations. They weren't that expensive back then.
Playing a toy meant for children at work is a bad look for you. Maybe if you're barely 18 it can pass but if you're almost middle aged it just makes you look like a literal manchild like op.
this nigga is 30 years old letting people tell him how to use his break at work. LOL
my advice is, remind that nigga he's not your Father, cause he's bugging the fuck out. lmao
whip out 'eck
whip out 'ick
'ick on 'eck
bossman is impressed

Thank you for coming to my poetry slam.
I play Switch and SteamDeck in public, but try to not stand out too much. SteamDeck is especially big.
There is time and palce for everything.
this,
Retard
ask for PTO for a week
"Wow Anon, where are you going?"
"New video game is coming out, just staying home"
The normalfag mind can't comprehend this.
i feel like getting promoted is cool until you fuck up your duties & responsibilities to wages received ratio. the second you're doing more work or taking on more responsibility than what you're getting paid is worth, you fumbled.
i was taking naps during work hours so you know.
Honestly, most vacations are so much work and stress I don't like taking them.
I'd rather just stay at home, or get a nice hotel and just hang out.
Camping can be good, if you already have everything and take it nice and chill. I know people who pack everything but the kitchen sink and have to be doing shit. I camp to be able to read outside and roast hotdogs and steaks over a fire.
I play shattered pixel dungeon on my phone at work all the time and even my dipshit asshole boss doesnt give a fuck.
Calls and Meetings
At the office
Not working from home
what's he gonna do? fire me for playing Switch on my break? now i show up to work Monday anyway and kill him, or i show up at his house and kill his family? that's a lose-lose, brother. i wouldn't play that hand if i were the boss man. LOL
Probably depends on the work. My boss (chef) would always snap at me browsing my phone when there was zero dishes to be cleaned.
Monday
You'd be in jail by then lool
Fucking lmao. The boss is clearly a nice guy who is just trying to protect the guy from looking like a spastic playing vidya in public. Unless you live in Japan or some shit everyone is gonna think you're a weirdo.
This is some really pathetic projection anon. This wasn't even about the console itself...
It can differ depending on what country you're in, but how it usually goes is, you get hired at a private security company, they give you the training you need and issue you a license to perform the duties of a security guard, then you work for them and they assign you to a client's location. You can negotiate what kinda shifts you want (day or night) and they'll usually let you pick a location provided they have multiple ones to choose from. I recommend guarding office buildings, as they're places where nothing really happens and your duties are not complicated.
The only requirement there really is for becoming a security guard is having no criminal record and keeping your appearance clean (shave your face, keep your hair tidy). If you're in America they might also require drug tests, but that's about it.
Of course. Plenty of people fall for the ambition meme and end up in positions they hate and stress over constantly.
But at the same time, you should be looking to be in a position to refuse a promotion. Not stagnate. Getting good enough at your job you become impossible to fire is like having a golden goose. Because even if who you work for now doesn't notice, usually someone else will. And you can freely job hop to better pastures. The attitude of "dude I just work here", however, can close a lot of doors later down the line. I'm definitely not encouraging being slavish and working without being paid for it, or killing yourself over a job. Its just extremely easy to standout as being half competent and personable in a world of retards and social rejects like OP. And doing that opens doors.
Autistic retard.
its never socially acceptable to play a Switch or Deck in public as an adult. thats just how it is. You MAY be able to get away with a mobile game
yeah only if you want more than 10fps
I used to take my Vita to work for breaks. People loved it.
Get a Vita.
tfw i drive for a living
by myself 90% of the day
highly recommend for fellow misanthropes
that's just mutually assured destruction, baybeee! they can put me in jail, but they can't un-kill his family. now he bursts into tears and starts reliving the funeral every time he sees a Nintendo Switch commercial, cause he wanted to play office Dad. oops.
And growing up is making all of those realisations. The time to express yourself is school and university, where stakes are relatively low.
Work just isn't that place. It's simply not worth risking ostracisation when your livelihood depends on being liked in that space.
It's things like this that make me glad I wfh nowadays. Whenever there's a significant lull, especially on Friday's, I get to have an hour or two of gaming slotted in.
work pretty much non-stop for months
"are you going anywhere nice for your holiday anon?"
Like nah I'm good I have a week to completely forget about that place I don't wanna waste it spending any time travelling whatsoever.
I agree with the boss.
unless you work in videogames or something like that.
tell him your going on a penis vacation
i simply believe people are too confident and comfortable. they feel too safe. make niggas afraid of each other again. if you're considering firing me for any reason, you should take into consideration that i might retaliate by Frank Castle'ing your family. you should ask yourself, "is firing this nigga cause he told me i'm not his Dad worth having to bury my wife and children?" before making choices like that.
