What level should I be before I fight auntie Ethel
What level should I be before I fight auntie Ethel
3 is fine. Really you just need Magic Missile to quickly get rid of most of the clones the turn they are summoned.
You can be level 2 or 3 yeah.
Don't forget to bring water because I "failed" the mission in my last playthrough because I had nothing to extinguish the flames on the girl's cage (you can't really fail basically the goal is to kill her and the rest is optional).
She's not a tough fight, if you have a heavy hitter or spellcaster to focus on the real Ethel you can make the clones disappear by just hitting them with an arrow or something and she has like 80HP only..
you can one hit her with barrels pretty easily if you don't mind cheesing it
just wait until you beat her and find out that every major boss in the game is just a person in a big ass pit with adds
barrelmancy cheaters
I fucking hate this boss fight, did at lvl 5 yesterday. I usually sneak into the room behind Maryannes cage and fight the hats from there.
Used to be easy when you could sneak behind her and push her into 5ge hole but Larian changed it so that she just teleports back.
Depends on what you want to accomplish though, defeat ethel in term literally defeating her or you want defeat her for the stat bonus. If you just want to defeat her, any level is fine because all you need to do is push/throw her to the hole in the above the cage. For bonus you need to be at least lvl 8 for save measure, bring water bucket/barrel to douse water on marina's cage, and when ethel shapeshift just find hover to see marina with biggest health bar
all you need to do is push/throw her to the hole in the above the cage.
Larian changed that, if you push her she just teleports back.
Ah never knew larian patched that, it's been too long since my last play then
Fuck off shill
Jeets made this game
Jeets shill this game
They patched pretty much all encounters and boss fights that you could best easily by doing stuff like that. They should of kept being able to push lethal though, it's a valid tactic and fits into the role play.
Did you notice that not a single gameplay webm exists that would NOT showcase how utterly shit bg3 is?
If you want to skip the combat that badly, just pick whatever the games journalist mode is called and be done with it. Complaining that you can't sidestep the gameplay in a game that gives you an entire mode that sidesteps the gameplay is stupid.
They shill it so hard because there is still no sales lmao
You can do it at 3 if you know what you’re doing, comfortably at 4 and you’ll curb stomp her at 5
Reminder:
Not flaunting your sales or trying to hide your concurrent players is a flop in the current year. Even privately owned indies flaunt their sales.
Because doing so generates more sales, and the only reason to not do that is to hide a flop.
Bg3 was developed in collaboration with wotc. And wotc has to report the sales of their shit. Also, Larian sold 30% of the company to Tencent, so they report the sales to them, meaning the report actually exists, but it's actively hidden.
Is Anon Babble still pretending this is a game and not a porn visual novel for women
They only patched it for the ones where it makes no sense to kill them with a shove, like Ethel or Cazador
this doesnt help me defeat aunt ethel at all
he can’t channel the rampant autism of an assmad spammer to come up with new tactics
Never going to make it, may as well give up on getting that hair
I still didn't see a valid counter to this.
2 years and it's still king.
Just press the switch, you don't need to throw water at the cage
the organic discussion stopped
kek
1 scene per character in a 60-100 hour game
While that does sound like the average wegh, bg3 released after 3 years EA, not 15
It's not a terribly long fight, don't know what you were expecting
Any ice spell, water spell or just pressing the button or lever or whatever works. It shouldn't be an issue.
getting that hair
you DO save Mayrina right anon, you don't fall for the hag antics
You can do both, get the hair, get the girl and get her dead zombie husband, and you might as well because Ethel's gonna come back anyway in act 3 for the actual showdown.
Why would you fight the only person who actually tries to help you remove the tadpole in act one.
Nobody can actually remove the tadpole and Ethel is the second worst at trying.
You could press the switch but it's easier to throw water at it and focus on the fight.
There's plenty of bo'ols of wa'ah in the game but there's only a couple of spells between each long rest.
You guys really overkill your games or I'm really complicating my life for some reason. Anyway my method works. Just throw water at the cage and fight.
BG3 is so good how there are so many ways to play. Anyway I liked reading your advices.
This fight was a fucking nightmare to go into on honor mode without looking anything up first. My biggest mistake was trying to actually use that fucking forge hammer against him, he'd always walk past it or just short of it. Then pic rel happened where I was trying to bait him underneath it and his shockwave went off, flicked the lever and pulverized me instead. I was chugging pots on every character every round desperately trying to stay alive for more than just 1 turn.
Fight would probably have been a breeze if I just banked everything on Lae'zael smashing him with a maul, using the 3 other characters purely for support and adds. I'm fucking terrified of any other boss fights now some of these legendary actions they get are absolutely absurd.
first time i clicked on a bg3 thread here, whats the deal with the sales guy?
Being the second worst at trying isn't very bad when there's only like three people that attempt it in the first place.
Also you better not be talking shit about based volo.
Oh that’s just the brony lolcow. If you laugh at him hard enough, he will chimp out and doxx himself
I haven't played honor mode yet, does he still try to attack the last person that damaged him when his turn starts?
I recall spreading people out and trying to make him waste his turn moving between them while having one person near the lever.
I think you can even shoot the lever with a bow to activate it.
The thing that fucked with me the most in that fight were the mephits that showed up midway through.
The best strategy is to just get a bunch of barbarian hirelings to wack him. Putting a silence on him will also negate his legendary action
No. Volo is a lovable dumbass and actually gets you something valuable out of his attempt. I would say he's second best.
The Gith machine is the best, provided you succeed at all the rolls for that one.
Ethel simply can't do it, rips out your eye and gives a bonus to intimidation and penalty to perception and attacking hags, which becomes an issue later unless you're really gonna be Ethel's lapdog.
Goblin priestess imprisons you, which is only a mild inconvenience at most.
Halsin can't do it.
Ultimately the search for a cure questline ends in failure, really, since you end up realizing the only thing that at least temporarily works at keeping the tadpole sedated is the Astral Prism.
Just keep reloading until your smite rolls a 20.
Ethel simply can't do it
She COULD do it if the emperor wasn't being such a cunt about it.
Yeah. Same as Raphael, I'm sure.
No?
One trick I love with that, and the potion system in general, is that potions have a health bar and spill their contents when broken. You can have someone become the target of Grym and have him stand under the hammer so that you can be absolutely sure the robot will be under it when it ends its turn. You can set potions on the ground at the feet of your character and when the hammer falls and smashes Grym and kills your character, the potions will break and instantly heal and revive that character.
Additionally, I like getting more use out of Mage Hands by putting potions on the ground and having the Mage Hand throw them at my characters. Summons and familiars can do this too but very slowly by controlling them and clicking and dragging the potion to the character and having them attack the potion so it breaks and heals/buffs the character. There was one time I nuked my characters with a modded fireball in coop and my friend was busy in combat, so I had to make Scratch hunt around Baldur's Gate for a healing potion and bring it all the way back to heal my downed guys.
The difference being raphael is cunt himself and wouldn't be as "fair" about it as ethel. All she wanted was your eye.
I had to make Scratch hunt around Baldur's Gate for a healing potion and bring it all the way back to heal my downed guys.
cute and creative
i didnt know how to get new party members so i ended up doing this fight with just me and Shadowheart at, like, level 3 or 4. it fucking sucked and the people on the Steam forums made fun of me for not having any party members when i asked them for help.
i never did find anyone on the game's cover besides shadowheart so i ended up finishing the entire game with just her and the Withers Mercenaries. i hate D&D.
actually tries to help you remove the tadpole
she's a hag, anon.
They don't ever help people without disproportionately fucking them over.
this thread again
wow i literally answered this yesterday. of all the threads to randomly schizo post over and over again, why a low level advice thread? either literally a marketing department or the weirdest schizo
maybe his power went out and he didn't get to read any of the helpful advice you gave him
You're more than likely moving forward if for nothing else than to get all the clones in range of magic missile. You save an action just hitting the switch instead using an action to throw something
i didnt know how to get new party members
How is that even possible?
I think you can pull the switch by shooting it with an arrow?
i didnt know how to get new party members
Hitting it with anything from any direction triggers it.
It's not. I could buy missing Astarion or Karlach but Lae'zel is the first person you meet and Wyll's encounter is also mandatory so there's no way to not see them
You can also do that, but it's a free action to just touch it and save her if you're in melee range
Has anyone else noticed that Act 3 tends to crash constantly?
Im a console peasant but I had it crash maybe twice during the 40 hours it took me to crawl through Acts 1 and 2.
Then I reach Act 3 and Ive had
five crashes while clicking on menu stuff
six-ish during combat
None from just walking around but man, it kinda blows. Im guessing Act 1 is the most polished?
Has anyone else noticed that Act 3 tends to crash constantly?
No, you're the first person to have this problem
You have to rerecruit Lae'zel after the Nautiloid crashes by saving her from the tieflings. There's definitely a route through the crash area where you can miss Astarion, Gale and Lae'zel as well as Withers. You just have to be really blind and unwilling to explore. Wyll's ignorable after the grove fight, and Karlach's tucked away in a corner. Shadowheart's the only one that gets placed in your main path if you save her from the pod, and even if you miss her the game forces her onto you if you approach the goblin camp since you need her prism. Withers only gets forced onto you when you enter Act 2, I think.
CRPGs in general are like this. It's a really dumb aspect of the genre that they make 100 hour long games where huge chunks are borderline unplayable, and even if they're, dialogue variety tends to start degrading.
Developers need to cut back and do like 40 hour campaigns, max.
Har har. Just wanted to make sure it wasnt console specific.
Well at least I still have the quicksave button.
That would be fair but he said "i never did find anyone on the game's cover besides shadowheart" which is literally impossible. Like I said I can buy missing out on Astarion or Karlach but you cannot say you never saw Wyll or Lae'zel
Arr githyanki rook same and Wyll is black so he was invisible.
I assume he beelined to Ethel before doing anything else for some reason, it's possible that he never found wyll up to that point
Why is the tranny still triggered by this game?
I think it's next to impossible to get to the swamp without passing by the grove fight if you're going in blind and not explicitly trying to skip
Lure Ethel outside her house by spamming pic related
She cannot teleport to fireplace exit anymore
My party beats her to death in just 2 turns
Peak gaming. To think that there are retards in here who say that this game is hard.
He has over 200 hours in the game too so I don't know what his major malfunction is.
Does the arcane lock cheese still work?
You lose the hair if you do that, retard
cheese video game
go bald
Satanic game
TRVE HERO DOES NOT CAVORT WITH MONSTERS
+1 to single stat is irrelevant in the grand scheme of all the bullshit you can pull in this game.
Is there still no mod to seduce and fuck her instead? God the Larian modders suck so much ass compared to Bethesda god kings.
Haven't played 3
I know Jaheira is in this game and I know you can kill her, but can you make her join your party?
yes, you can
Your overhyped woke success story sold less copies than a generic FOTM.
muh15mil
You will never ever post the sales report lmao
But which form? Answer carefully, I'm judging you based on your response.
The hag of course.
Yes, at the end of act 2.
Though she can die pretty easily if you fuck up
