More 'action' than the original

more 'action' than the original

more 'horror' than the original

more aggressive enemies and faster paced combat

I usually hate remakes but this is pretty good so far. Sure the original definitely has that 'soul' but as a game I think the remake is superior

i know it's cliche but i didn't get into the original yet because of the tank controls. are they that bad? everything else about it looks and feels so kino

No they're good

it takes you an hour to adjust to it. Idk why people aren't okay with different control schemes

Is there a TPS that plays like resident evil, but is less focused on horror(even less so than the remakes) and more on action?
Something like the first(haven't played the second yet) Remnant game? I really like the slow methodical movement and gunplay combined with fast moving hordes of dangerous enemies where instead of zooming around all over the place like Vanquish(luv vanquish, don't get me wrong) you do sick ass shit like crouching at the right time to dodge an axe/rocket and it's all just very heavy movement being used cleverly to dodge shit, like Castlevania or REmakes?

Tank controls are kino. They're weird getting used to but they make for really intense and fun encounters and I hate how vilified they've become

can you explain how exactly? i'm guessing it's to increase the tension of fights since aiming is difficult, but it still feels a little arbitrary to me

the aiming is actually easier in the original re4

really? with controller or keyboard?

I have only played it with a controller but yes it is easier because the enemies are way slower

if you say so. maybe it's just the illusion of tension since you actually have plenty of time to aim, it's just that because aiming is slower, it feels more tense. i'll try the game ty

don't listen to Anon Babble, I agree most remakes are demakes but RE4 remake was a good remake (it's not perfect, but I enjoyed it)

I’d like this game a lot more if the other controller aiming didn’t feel like that. The other re engine games kinda had the same issue but not to the this degree

You're not allowed to enjoy games here anon, especially remakes/remasters. Fuck off.

Its alright but its not as good as the original. The tank controls and laser sight were iconic, visual design was cleaner. Remake has respawning waves after clearing an area which is unforgivable. Enemies are spongier and don't stagger as predictably so clearing rooms feels less like a puzzle. The knife parry is a great change but I hate knife durability.

RE4R is one of the best games that revealed how casual Anon Babble actually is. Namely by making the remake much harder than the original the amount of anons here that whined when they picked hardcore difficulty (which describes it as for players of the OG game) and got their shit kicked in because it is more challenging than OG professional was GLORIOUS.

Turns out having free checkpoints in every room, free reloads with ammo upgrades and the red9 being a mini-magnum meant all these OG "pros" were just relying on ez modo at heart.

Anybody that hates the remake is a salty red9, tmp cuck. Your guns are overrated shit.

red9 being a mini-magnum

when where and how did this fucking stupid meme come to be

Just play it
Also the remake and original have a lot of differences other than just the controls and graphics, like the areas and encounters are changed a lot too
if you play the original RE4, it will be very unpredictable even though you have played the remake, so it wont feel like you're replaying the same game with different graphics

It is objectively the best pistol by a country mile entirely down to the massive damage vs other pistols.

It still doesn't make it anywhere close to a "mini magnum". Anybody that claims it is a stupid fuck or they themselves didn't bother to use other shit. Red9 is still the strongest handgun in the remake even with the accuracy nerf that is negated with the simple tactic of taking 2 steps closer than normal, so bringing it up in the first place is doubly fucking stupid.

I beat RE4 and RE4R pro and I honestly I never noticed that much of a difficulty spike from the original. The games are balanced differently. The original is balanced around movement. RE4R cannot be balanced around movement similarly because the whole point of it is removing the tank controls, allowing shooting while moving and allowing you to view your character from the rear while moving, which gives you many unfair advantages the original never had (notably being able to lure enemies into traps like tripwires and such or get in closer for melee attacks while staying on the offensive). The original is much more tense because of it, the whole Verdugo boss fight is more of a repetitious slog in the remake. In the original, since you couldn't turn while running you had to pay attention to the sounds of bosses like the U3 while in REmake4's Separate Ways expansion it has two stages that play nothing like the original and are more focused on survives hordes of novistadors.
Overall entirely different games so it's worthless to try to compare difficulty.

Red9 is still the strongest handgun in the remake

It's also the fact that you have way stronger options for giving yourself breathing room in the original. You can completely stop an entire group of enemies huddled in front of you with a single knife swipe+kick combo and one shotgun shell completely knocks down a huge group in front of you.

A dumbfuck that thinks the Red9 is a mini-magnum because lmao 5/6.5 damage has no arguments to the objective fact of 4.05 damage. What a surprise.
"b-but Blacktail"
Same applies to the original. An awkward 2nd tier that has fuck all reason to exist, even moreso in the remake by having a pathetic magazine capacity that can't even be worked around like Red9's inaccuracy.

Original is better because it's arcadey and that's all it needed to be.
Remake is good, but only because it rides on the original's success.

More skilled gameplay yes. You are just proving the remake is dumbed down.

Original is better because it's arcadey

just admit you're a casual

taking 2 steps closer than normal

which is dangerous in the remake due to stagger resistance

You mean a bullshit RNG mechanic? Yeah checks out for a remake.

it exists to stop handguns from being as omnipresent as they were in og4.
if you need a guaranteed stagger, use the rest of your kit

idk remake 4 was just really fun to play

I hate remasters and remakes as a matter of principle. I honestly can't remember a single remake/remaster that was done exactly right, to be honest. They ALWAYS commit the grave cardinal sin of fucking with the atmosphere of the original game. Either that, or they just make the remaster ugly and look wrong, in general. Take oblivion, as an example, they ruined the smooth hills the original had and made them unnecessarily ugly and blocky and rocky, thereby completely ruining the feel the game originally had. Even stupid motherfuckers on here don't get it right, they tried to meme about how oblivion reminded them of shrek, when in fact, that is the exact feel the original had and was purposefully going for! Oblivion in the tes universe IS exactly such a place! It is supposed to invoke a feeling of colorfulness and high fantasy and rolling hills and shit! And the dumbass fucking devs completely ruined it and made a lot of the hills rocky and blocky! So they obviously didn't get the memo of what kind of place oblivion was actually supposed to be, did they??

Correct, in the end the most important thing is the actual "game" part of the game
Only dumb faggot hipsters say shit like "It's better because le sovl atmosphere resonance" or some other stupid fucking bullshit

Actually retarded if you think the remake was faster paced. You didn't play the original. Please take your own life.

You playing like a bitch doesn't mean the game wasn't fast paced, stick to the original like all the other casual gamers

Leon controls like ass in the remake, it suffers from that realistic animation problem where the character doesn't feel smooth and snappy to control.

You're a stupid motherfucker that can't even differentiate Cyrodil, the province the video game Oblivion actually takes place in, and the Oblivion planes. Cyrodil looks the way it does in the original because the fuckwads wanted to ape the Peter Jackson LOTR movies, when it should actually be swampass fantasy land if it was meant to be "exactly such a place" in the tes universe.

Fuck you asshole! I don't fucking care, the original game had rolling hills and a shreek feel to them and that was perfectly fine! The devs had no god-given natural right to ruin that feel!

I phoned up todd and told him to direct virtuoso to change it.

I actually enjoy the way the realistic animation feels to control more than the original desu

more 'horror' than the original

Wrong.

You evil fucking monster! May god almighty strike you down!

the original is as "horror" as shit like gears of war

And the remake is even less than that.

didn't get into the original yet because of the tank controls

mogs the demake

mogs the original

kneel

I enjoy the gameplay a lot more, parrying is fun and I actually like that you need more shots to stun ganados.
Voice acting was way better in the original though.

don't stagger as predictably

If you upgrade your handgun it's really not that bad and even then, it makes you think about the risk vs reward of stunning an enemy. It used to be a relatively easy thing to do that would work in most situations, now its more situational.

Absolute peak of the series
If Capcom goes back and remakes RE3 remake, I'll kneel forever
