But Hopes shows Shez's power awakening in time, which results in a domino effect of Shez meeting the Houses leaders at Remire, and they kill Kostas. Because Byleth isn't there, Jeritza was able to be installed as professor (the original plan for Edelgard), which leads to the first mission being a rescue operation for Monica (the real one), where she reveals it was Tomas.
Basically it accelerates White Clouds to the point where the House leaders do their own business, and Edelgard cuts ties earlier from the Slitherers. So the main was is 2 years after the start of the story (instead of 5 years after Byleth's nap). And Byleth and Jeralt are mercs hired by one of the other armies.
As others mentioned, the game doesn't go into fully explaining Shez's true backstory, but the hints is that Shez is a test tube baby created by Agarthans to re-house the soul of an ancient Agarthan killed during the war who figured out how to transfer consciousness like the Nabateans' hearts, who takes the form of Arval and like Sothis doesn't have a memory

This was the bigger issue. Everyone had crazy high con, so I couldn't rescue like half the cast. My merc had 15 con and the fighter had even more.

I generally give up on rescuing axe bros because those tend to have too much con especially after promotion.

Yeah, and that's a good thing. Not only does it help them rescue, but it also allows pegasluts to actually interact as they should with the weight system by trading speed+avoid for damage, unlike every other class in the game that either have too low or too high con.
The fact that romhack fags keep trying to "fix" the single best integrated class in the game proves how little they understand FE.

It's still intrinsic to the weapon triangle in that every sword is going to break every axe and so forth. If IS actually wanted there to be a real trade off for Con vs Aid, they'd set everyone to the 20 - Con formula. In reality, what we get in a lot of maps is that the men are just as good as the girls if you plot an actual shortest path from the starting point to the drop off zone.
Secondly, most of the hacks with increased con for female mounts are also the ones that just set everyone to 25 - Aid and pegasi still have all of their usual flaws (low str/shaky physical bulk) in games with stronger enemy quality on average, so its not like its free reign anyway.

The reason why FE doesn't do that is because the girl mounts almost all have low con (with Milady being the only exception), so their rescue is the same or better as the heavier males without making either too busted at rescuing. 20-con would mean that male horses could rescue almost no one would feel like dogshit to use.
You don't need to "fix" pegasluts in the first place, they are already extremely powerful by playing by the normal game's rules.
