This. The game doesn't need DLC, except maybe more encounters in the endless tower since there are a lot of inaccessible canvases but other than that it's good the way it is. Writer sequel sounds fantastic, although the big twist of the world essentially not being real will not work a second time, but it might be interesting to transport the whole thing into the "real" world.

My retarded idea was to make a second game focused on the writers and humanize them (since all we know now is they caused the death of Verso) and then make a 3rd game about Writers vs Painters where somehow their creations come to life in the real world and you have a mixed party of the Painters/Writers characters having to stop them.

Metaphor had a great Antagonist and story at times but is severely held back by shitty formulaic game design. The devs finally had a chance to do sometihng new, but then shat out this uninspired mix of SMT/Persona with horribly written social links due to every character story having to fit into the same 8 cutscene template. And I'm saying that as someone who was really excited for that game.

It's something producers would struggle to think about nowadays, a turn based game with corridors and a world map (I can't remember the last time I saw one), it's completely out of fashion, and yet it's a commercial success (as an AA). It's good to see that the industry is still able to create wildcards like this game, even if it's outside the big studios. I believe it proves that AAA budget and team size is not the right way to develop a game anymore, the costs are far beyond the point of diminishing returns. Smaller scales are the right way to do it.
