Hallway simulator
Hallway simulator
Sorry, wrong pic.
I don't think so champ
but you'll have plenty of time to reconsider your opinion while you're unemployed and living with your mother
Linear game bad because.... it just is okay??!!!
and it's still better than your favorite game
The PS2 and PS3 era Final Fantasy was so shit...
FF up to that point had had more linear games than non-linear, even if they were better at hiding it.
The actual best FF story
The actual best FF aesthetic
even if they were better at hiding it
This is the key though. Games like the ones posted in this thread don't even bother trying to hide it anymore.
For example, obviously FF4 is linear as fuck, but it didn't feel like that because of the freedom you're granted in terms of getting around. You get the airship pretty early in the game and can move around wherever you want, even if you're expected to go to a specific point to progress the story. Significantly better than just holding up and letting the story dictate everything, because god forbid you take a detour to explore a little off the beaten path.
Where the fuck is the title
You should know the game, anon.
What game?
PlayStation 2
Blitzball 2k1 was good
honestly as someone who plays alot of jrpgs with overworlds this game was a nice break from all the towns with forests and mountains in between them x50.
yeah going from 7 to this was kind of disappointing, it could have been at least a little less linear
world full of browns
nobody complained
How did square do it
Islander browns = friendly, laid-back, based
land-based browns = stinky, shrill, cringe
Yep, i played this last year and holy shit i was SHOCKED by how much of a movie game it was.
All i was doing is this.
Walking through a hallway corridor in a striaght line, screen breaks, combat encounter, its rock paper scissors, waka kills flying, lulu kills elemental, tidus kills ground monsters and jecht kills rock enemies, in boss fights you press summons and cast the highest dmg spell until you win. after combat is finished then you walk again and now you watch a 3 minute cutscene, then you walk again for 5 seconds, then watch a 2 minute cutscene, then you walk 10 seconds screen breaks, do the same combat you just did a little bit before, then you walk and watch a 3 minute cutscene, then rinse and repeat..
the grid leveling system is actually shallow and very simple
the cutscenes are shit with poor acting and awful voice overs
the minigame is a clunky piece of garbage
itemization is ok for a jrpg but shit for a rpg
the music was mostly good
the story was decent
the graphics aged alright but not too good
overall its overrated as fuck by retards who overestimate their intelligence.
6/10 game and im generous
the white faction is the Al Bhed.
yevon=ebon=black: evil
al bhed=albedo=white: good
What did Square mean by this.
open world
:(
open world, airship
:O
I keep thinking I want to play another jrpg but I can't find one worth playing to save my life.
You try checking?
cringe artstyle too everyone looks like a faggot
just go to the worst of the sub boards and ask for recommendations from morons
Yeah, nah.
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
The desprate attempt at revisionism FF13fags have been doing to try to get FF10 viewed as hallway sim too will never not be funny. Also kill yourself FF13fag.
It was justified. A 17 years old being stuck in a foreign land with no way to return home with a sudden responsibility forced on him while knowing his dad is the big bad in this world, kind of overwhelming.
YEAH BUT THERE'S SOUL AND LORE
its weird that he's yelling a laugh rather than just laughing.
religion is... le evil!
Do japs not know how to tell any other story?
Yeah Galo Sengen
Rogue Galaxy or Skies of Arcadia
Space pirates or sky pirates
Or if you want a goofball jrpg with meh combat Radiata Stories is pretty funny
other characters knocked out
Summon with Yuna
They get up and run of screen
What did they mean by this?
Its pretty clear a lot of japanese hate churches, and Japan has had a big cult problem which a former PM got shot over it.
3 active members KO
4 full hp backup members all give up
it's weird that his deliberately fake laugh sounds fake
It's been over two fucking decades, how do people still not understand this scene? Jesus fucking christ, I was literally 12 when I first played it and it's clearly Tidus taking the piss to try and cheer Yuna up
Yevon is just the current government. It's the same trope as most other FF games where you have to take down a world power. FF6 was the Gestahlian Empire. FF7 was Shinra. FF8 was Galbadia. And FFX was Yevon. The only reason FFX gets shit for it is because Yevon is a theocratic institution. As if that's somehow worse than the hypercapitalist Shinra or the military empire of Vector
Yeah its like there's some kind of history there or something
I do like space pirates.
Rare hidden gem.
Nah, FF X is mid.
Best art style
Best aesthetic
Best music
Slightly better story than ff10
13 is the superior hallway simulator by far.
Lord of the Rings is my favourite story about going down a hallway
