I'll tell you why this game is getting hyped desu. It's because it has some moments in the story that feel very unique or profound(even if they aren't). Every "amazing" game has to have some sort of thing that stands out or hooks you in as being epic. This game does achieve that later on so any shortcomings it might have get overlooked and it gets hyped more and more.

A good way to explain would be ff7... if aertith lived would people really regard it as one of the best games ever? Moments like that sort of elevate the perception of a game.

The game has a deluxe edition that includes costumes. Some of the costumes are literally in the game but you can't use them on certain characters, this dlc/upgrade lets you.

Cinematics and voice acting are closely related to story as well but let's say they're more to do with presentation - which he did not list (things such as graphics, environments, character and world design, which are things I think this game does poorly overall).

On paper I shouldn't dislike this game, I mostly have a major problem with how it looks, but the way people act around it is mind boggling. Nobody has any substantive criticism of it and that just doesn't make sense with any game or piece of media no matter how often it happens.
Even if you look at negative Steam reviews, it's all guys saying they like the game but have to thumbs down it because of technical issues or because they don't like parrying. This guy said he can't beat the game because he isn't good enough to beat a certain boss, and 50 people still dogpiled him in the game's defence.

Played 5 hours. The gameplay is boring, or maybe let‘s say it‘s like based on how good you are at parrying/dodging.
Levels are like linear and then you go to a bigger area where you are zoomed out and it is just like an over world in ni no kuni.

There's plenty to criticize, the dodge / parry is not just a "git gud" issue but a "the entire game balance revolves around it and therefore makes everything else meaningless issue", the skills are simultaneously too complicated and too simple (because you end up using one or two skills at most to blast everything away anyway), the overworld is annoying to traverse (before flying), the story is hit or miss (huge miss for me because I didn't like the direction after act 1 at all, but I can see other people liking it), fights either take way too long (or are over after the first turn)...
