Wait, it's all fetch quests?
Wait, it's all fetch quests?
No. There are also escort quests.
Glarthir is honestly the best quest/mission/level I've ever done in a video game. Going blind and not knowing much about Oblivion or Elder Scrolls games, I was seriously trying to figure everything out. I even snuck into everyone's house and followed their whole routine because sometimes they DO look at him even when their back is turned they'll move their head to look at him. But that's just a thing all NPCs do, but the quest itself makes you as paranoid as Glarthir. It was brilliant.
sometimes the game asks you to go in the repetitive dungeons
any way to get houses for cheap? I want to live in bruma but I dont want to pay that much
Ask around for the house in Anvil. It's a steal
just do the item dupe on some potions and sell them for like 10k gold.
fetch quest is an mmo term and doesnt really apply to single player games.
Both of the DLC houses are free
Play Morrowind, the thinking man's RPG
Quest: Get me this book
Quest: Get me a diamond
Quest: Get me this book
Quest: Collect guild dues
Quest: Get me my heirloom ring
Quest: Steal this specific book
Quest: Deliver this package to the vault downstairs
Quest: Collect four mushrooms
Quest: Get a Dwemer Puzzle Box
Quest: Return this book to the person you stole it from
Quest: Collect four flowers
Quest: Get me this key
Quest: Put a soul gem in this table
Yooo these quests are radiant as fuck!
Morrowind chads???
But das based as fuck too?!
Raise mercantile and create potions. Otherwise, cheats or exploits.
Just north of the main city is a town where everyone is invisible. If you do the quest (takes 30 seconds) you get an inn room with a chest that doesn't respawn.
Its the freest place to sleep and store shit.
Those men are spedrunners and speds only play consoleshit.
Seems like Expert quadruples their health pool and makes you take double damage. I wish there was something in between Adept and Expert. Goes from way too easy to just a complete slog and chore.
No no! The first response was supposed to be "always has been". Don't you guys know your memes?!?!
Expert is only slightly more HP than classic Oblivions normal. They nerfed almost everythings HP in the remaster, one exception are the xavian daedric guys, or however you spell it.
play mario
get the princess back
yooo the whole game is a fetch quest?
I fell asleep 30 minutes in
Is this really what nostalgia fags are praising? holy shit
in mario you have dozens of levels and enemies to defeat before you save peach
in morrowind you walk upstairs, open the desk, place the item, then go downstairs back to the talking cat who gave the mission
there are people who seriously play through these games using dupes and shit?
Dont you feel like you're completely spoiling the game
either horrifically fat ogres or emaciated goblins
faction needs more unit variety
ohhhh noooo this 15 second quest that builds the setting of the game is not interesting enough for me noooooooo
shut the fuck up
99% of the game's quest are similarly shallow.
complaining about puzzle box
You dont even like these games at all if you complain about that. or you just went turbo retard and couldnt find it, yeah probably that.
the standards for rpgs back then were so fucking low
What kind of quests are you negroids expecting?
just enjoy the journey
The dungeon is literally on a signposted road and its in the first room. How could anyone not find it?
Nah, not really.
Quests that get you to go out in the world are really just doing that on purpose.
Go to the swamps and get the mushrooms
Right, and its your fault if you treat the game like an MMO and only get the mushrooms and then walk back (did you recall back or?) You should be exploring the areas you are walking through. A lot of guild quests will even send you on a path that has a dungeon in between you wont be able to miss if you follow the directions that will have very good loot inside, often better than guild quest rewards.
And there is always setting building in the quests, like the mages guild not taking care to send you on quests they know you can handle, they arent balanced around character level very much and you are expected to figure out a way to handle it. That fargoth quest? The guards are mean? No, fargoth is a smuggler that isnt paying his dues to the guards, thats why one has you find his gold. But you didnt figure it out because you treat the game like an mmo and just do the stuff to knock it off your journal or whatever, treating like a job instead of a story game.
Uh no, well the main quest yes but the rest of the quests are pretty fun.
I did the same at first. I kept thinking surely he's not crazy and there is some weird plot. Masterful quest design.
I then coped by supporting his delusions thinking it would make him back off or settle down with knowledge of the "truth" but the way it escalated actually made me feel bad.
there are several ways to go in the dungeon and the puzzle box is like 20% of the way inside so its very plausible someone would miss it and keep going deeper and deeper in the dungeon, the second section of the dungeon even requires moderate lockpicking so its possible someone found that door, assumed the puzzle box was back there so they ran all the way back to town for an open scroll then ran back to eventually find a dead end with no puzzle box. Complaining about not finding the puzzle box is actually pretty common.
Corrupt guards are shaking down a poor man who lives in a mud hut located in a swamp
Your take away from this is he's a smuggler even though he doesn't have any eggs or sugar in his stash
What fucking game did you play???
The whole game is like that too. I still won't go back to Daggerfall though, fuck trying to find anything in those dungeons.
That's all rpgs are/will be.
yea its awful
only do it if you want to stop appreciating anything
the only cheat I ever did was use the test room below frostcrag to get the sigils I wanted after I got sick of savescumming at the end of every oblivion gate, and 99% of the sigils I wanted was to make buff shit to reverse pockpicket onto nocs so they could survive as I reached higher levels
what did you want specifically?
Fetch quests have always been part of the genre, and I prefer them to the "interminable cutscene quests" we get in CDPR games, or the "kiss the gay man quests" in Bioware games.
Went in blind but i worked with schizos as patients so i knew if i told him everything was fine he would suspect me so i killed the wine guy to make him feel better and trust me. Was hoping there was a follow up but nope
might as well just spawn as much gold as you want with console if you are going to cheat. I legit dont understand this mindset. Who is he trying to fool
why are you so obsessed with trannies that you edited a bunch of them onto a picture of a video game? you actually need mental help
something other than
I'm gonna need this item, go get it
now I'm gonna need this item, go get it
now I'm gonna need this item, go get it
cheating is canon due to chim
Do 2H weapons suck? I thought they would be doing more damage.
I'm making an indie game and I'm starting to implement quests. It's surprisingly hard to make quests that don't just distill down to "get this item" or "kill these enemies".
I kind of forgot how out of scale the entire world feels. The map felt huge at the time when it came out, but now it feels tiny, and nothing looks right. Like all the buildings are smaller on the outside than they are when you go inside and the interior map loads and it's blatantly out of scale with the exterior. It just feels weird. I guess it was limitations at the time but still.
The Imperial City too, the port has 2 ships in it lol, the biggest city in the world and it has a port that holds 2 ships, and the ships are tiny and can't even sail out of the port because the water is shallow and the river has bridges running across it that the ships can't even sail under lol not to mention the lower part of the map has no output for the ships to even sail out of cyrodiil.
Also, the game is either too piss easy on adept, but if you bump up the difficulty to expert or higher then suddenly the enemies all have like 4x the health and take a minute to kill even with the highest damage spells and weapons you can muster, not to mention you also turn into swiss cheese anything higher than adept.
I honestly had rose tinted glasses for this game, there's also a really bad lack of variety in weapons and armor, and if you explore even just a small bit too early you're going to be over leveled and suddenly every enemy is wearing ebony / daedric armor and weapons that I can't even carry more than 1-2 of since my strength is underleveled and everything has a weight of nearly 100 lol I've barely scratched the story and already have hundreds of thousands of gold and nothing to spend it on and no need to since I can just repair all my equipment myself anyways.
Seeking Your Roots
As long as you don't mind a respawning marauder roommate, Greyland is a great home early game. The chest in back is safe storage.
Stop playing the main quest, it's garbage.
The actual (lore) scale of Cyrodiil would have been impossible to depict at the time or even today.
The imperial city alone would be orders of magnitude larger than the entire maps of skyrim / morrowind / oblivion combined.
Those sorts of quests are the bread and butter of RPG games. The point is to get your out exploring the world as you do them and then you experience the world on the way to the quest.
physical damage in general kinda sucks in oblivion. But you can make 2 handed sort of work. actually might be the best way to stagger or knock down stuff, idk, i forgot how exactly it works.
i work with schizos so i killed the wine guy so the schizo would trust me
the schizos are lucky to have you
are you retarded?
>Corrupt guards are shaking down a poor man who lives in a mud hut located in a swamp
Ok why would they be shaking down a poor man who lives in a hut for hundreds of gold? Its because he is a smuggler and the smugglers and guards are working together.
townsfolk complain the guards arent doing anything about the smugglers
loads of drugs are found in the imperial warehouse
Gee, what could be going on?
NTA but you have to in the remaster if yoy want the gates to fuck off because they spawn before kvatch now
Looking up exploits is dogshit.
Going in blind and figuring out exploits yourself is the most fun way to play Morrowind tho. No idea about Oblivion yet.
yea. just baerly an improvement from morrowind.
It's bethesda slop, the company has beta in its name, did you seriously think this slop would be good just because old good? Bad games have existed since forever, it's just that we had more good AAA titles before, but crap like this has always gotten attention from retarded cum guzzler theater kids. This isn't a game, is a simulation, and a bad one at that. There's no game design, no memorable bosses, no meorable levels, no memorable nothing, just dramabait to bait dramatic people out of their lives and into this retardation.
Min maxing and exploiting ruins the fun of both games, imo.
i never played this video game but im gonna make up a bunch of bullshit about it anyway
vagueposts without adressing any of the criticisms
I'll accept my victory, good games don't need their size in mods.
vagueposts
so exactly what you did?
muh projection
I set distinct goals for anyone wanting to prove me wrong. Show me a memorable boss, level or aspect of game design in Oblivion, prove to me there's something other than 7th grade writing, show me anything that doesn't look like the drab wet dream of a soulless american faggot.
But you're 2 replies in without doing any of that, because you are the easily impressed theater kid.
nah i have better things to do than entertain your gay debatelord shit
Understandable, no matter how gay my debatelord shit is it'll never be as gay as Oblivion, I couldn't possibly hope to compete with that level of faggotry for your attention. Good game anon, hope you can someday stop being such a faggot.
Oblivion is a complete turd of a game.
Skyrim is king.
Yeah so I've seen. I got a frost two handed axe from an elven ruin and the damage has skyrocketed. Now all I need is a better restoration spell and ingredients for restore health potions.
It is REALLY stupid how the box is just sitting on a shelf. Frankly it's stupid that all these ancient Dweimer ruins aren't thoroughly ransacked, at least in the rooms closer to the entrance. Both from a story and gameplay perspective, "get me cube" was a shitty quest. The rest of the game typically doesn't jerk you around like that, thankfully (usually).
Do the two Mazoga the Orc quests in Leyawiin to get a nice lodge.
You are not interested in honest discussion and any example brought forth will automatically be denied by you so why bother? Move along lil gup.
A movie game
You are not interested in honest discussion
You've yet to engage in it to know.
any example brought forth will automatically be denied by you
So even you admit there are no good examples in this gay ass game.
You've yet to engage in it to know
Yeah, I have. Many times before. I've seen this song and dance before so it's pointless.
Kys fuck trannywind
But enough about trannywind
Suit yourself, if you were truthful you'd be pointing where in the archive, but as it is you're just fabricating credentials now because you know for a fact you don't have an argument here. I agree it is pointless though, arguing in favor of a shitty game like Oblivion is an exercise in futility.
Im trying to save up for the 15k in Skingrad and honestly Im surprised at how slow natural gold comes across in this game. I guess I got too spoiled by creeper in morrowind
actually fantastic information that its safe storage. ive been keeping shit at cloud ruler temple or jauffres
Skingrad
I meant Cheydinhal. By Talos Skingrad is 25k
