That's not entirely true, If your defense and HP are trash then you risk getting priority moved into oblivion.

Also, if you rely on striking first too much, a sufficiently strong wall, or a bad matchup that allows for a setup that hampers speed is going to be a major issue for your team.

HP and defenses can be used to wall mons no matter how fast they are.
Speed is important for offense, but that's not the only thing that matters in a full team comp.

Mixed attackers are barely even a thing anymore every new mon has a spread minmaxed for one or the other and their learnset reflects that. A gen 2 sneasel situation is the one thing they feel they have to avoid at all costs

the game actually has been built and balanced around double battles since gen 4. it's why moves like follow me exist, and why EQ hits allies but rock slide doesn't, for example.
Why they don't reflect this in the single-player is beyond me, but balance decisions are always for double battles.

Feels like the only point in nu mixed attackers is to pick one stat or the other to dump and try and bait the opposite wall.

There's are too many vital niches in the metagame to say one stat is all that matters, especially when you take abilities into play. An attacker would like to go first, but a tank doesn't mind being slower. Speed issues can also be made up with priority moves like Fake Out or Extreme Speed.

2v2 is a faggot gamemode for faggots who cant have fun unless they're doing it "officially". it's pure luck and the 50/50 problem that happens in singles happens in doubles but it's 50x worse because 1 bad roll or bad guess = you lose on the spot

Gen 3 comp is really good. I love that I can take swalot into ou matches and make my opponent shit themselves when they have no idea whether I'll click random status move, counter or explosion. The mindgames that creature creates are hilarious.

Zoomers are obsessed with clout in general. It's why they love LoL and other skinner-box type competitive experiences. There's basically no glory in unofficial singles gameplay for obvious reasons, and they can't even conceive of the idea of playing a competitive game for fun. Pretty sad.

It's literally a dislike for engaging with the language they speak. They hate having to remember how to actually say what, how, or why someone did, said, or felt something, so it's easier for them to create a word that technically defines something other words don't. Slang is always mocked by older generations (text-only slang in the form of acronyms were derided by boomers in the past for example), but in many of those cases the slang was made for the sake of making conversing more efficient. What amount of time do you save from saying crashout instead of meltdown, freak out, lost it, raging, ranting, angry, or anything else?

The only thing "crashout" does is describe the very specific, yet broad concept that normally would only be described through the phrase "The straw that broke the camel's back". This is what all modern slang is doing now, instead of truncating pre-existing words into something quicker and easier to say, it takes a broad concept and tries to replace it, because the flexibility of their own language is too much from them to actually use their fucking brain.

VGC is a soulless, corporate shell of a format. Singles has every bit, both nasty & funny, infuriating & neat, of a format made by the players for the players. The old internet roots to the power trippy people and shifts from autists. The stuff of endless micro stories & happenings. It oozes humanity.
While VGC still clings to their Pachirisu shit or try to make a story out of the 7th most used legendary being used to win a tournament, even amidst the insanely cucked modern days, Singles is a rabbit hole of storie you could squeeze for years if you wished, but there's no need, its self contained, modest campfire tier stories that are much more humble. Some fag brought Solrock all the way to #1 in Gen 6 Ubers, you don't see people baseding over it & making 2 hour youtube videos on it. The ban of Quick Claw is almost entirely the result of some buttmad mod who got 6-0d by a Belly Drum G-Slowbro, same shit here. You can go anywhere & it breathes this modest life where shit just happens & that's how it is.
